The restaurant location is in a good spot on the corner of Lowry'n Marshall NE. Parking is decent on street. There is an available parking lot. The restaurant is always clean and the service is excellent! The food selections are good organic choices. However, they removed the widely popular, absolutely delicious hot pastrami sandwich. Why? It just disappeared!!! There is no other comparable option to this sandwich on their menu. My heart is broken. I was forced to try another selection: the Bruschetta chicken sandwich. The jury is still out on this one. Not bad. Just not as GREAT as the pastrami one. I tried the ever popular cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting today. It's a one & done for me. The soaked in butter bread is a bit off putting for me. It's like oily wet bread. All of that butter upset my stomach. I only ate 1/3 of it...and had to toss it. Yeah, that's very disappointing. Money is tight...this meal was a real treat for me. All in all, BT is very good, great location, good service, good food. read more

I previewed this place at a slow time on my own, then decided we should come back for Mother's Day. It was MUCH busier then, with a line out the door, but they had an efficient check in process. SInce this is a place where you order at the counter, reservations don't really make sense. And we got in faster than estimated for Mother's Day. I also noticed the staff didn't look stressed out despite the crowd. The large windows face north and west like my home, but somehow it feels bright and sunny, probably assisted by the blond furniture and gold and white colors. Water is self serve, but the rest of your order arrives fairly quickly after you sit down. I loved both of the brunches I ordered, getting a green salad with a delicious vinaigrette on the side is a lovely contrast to the indulgent loaded hash browns or soft scramble. My sons went for heartier fare and had no complaints, they would rate their food 4 out of 5 though the jam was reportedly awesome. I'd go 5 out of 5 on the loaded hash browns, because somehow they are still nice and crisp under all the yummy things on top of them. The coffee is very good, and I consider myself a coffee snob. Baked goods happy hour is a nice feature too. After dropping off his brother, my oldest twisted my arm to go back and get some half price cinnamon rolls since it had just passed 1 pm. The bathroom is across a hallway, shared with other businesses, and sparkling clean. There are fancier brunches out there in the Twin Cities, but I think this place deserves 5 stars for the whole experience, it's casual, but classier than a diner. read more

This visit started out as a pickup through Too Good to Go. I'd got a pastry/bakery bag. This was the first time I'd been at the location, and was surprised to learn that it's a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. Once I saw that there were tables available after picking up the bag, I went and got my friend who was waiting for me (parking is tenuous in this area) so that we could have lunch. We both got the Ropa Vieja Hash and decaf. Ropa Vieja is one of my all-time favorite foods, so I always get it when available. I was a little scared, honestly, because I don't know who's in the kitchen and wondered if they'd make it correctly. Well, I can tell you that this meal was stellar, with only one caveat. The egg was not over easy/soft, so we couldn't mix the yolk with everything else. We will be sure to stipulate this when next we have this delicious treat. The house-made tortillas and friend plantain were a perfect match to the hash. The Ropa Vieja was tender and seasoned beautifully. We will certainly be back. They have a Ropa Vieja sandwich that we both were eyeing when deciding to try the hash. The staff are friendly enough and helpful when you have a need. I love the Buttered Tin's frozen French apple pie from the grocery store, so I figured I'd try the actual restaurant. First impressions: the space was bright and clean, with lots of seating. We were given a table number by the hostess, then ordered and paid at the counter and sat down. Service was quick and friendly! The breakfast burrito was delicious and enormous, perfect to split. I've had The Buttered Tin on my radar for the better part of a decade--originally the St. Paul location--but never quite made the trip. Now that I live closer to the Minneapolis spot, I finally gave it a shot via a promo "surprise bag." Ended up with three cinnamon rolls. Truthfully, I'm not a big cinnamon roll person, so take this with a grain of sugar--but they were decent. A little on the dry side, and I found myself wishing they came with some frosting or glaze. Not sure if they were day-olds (maybe part of the surprise?), but they weren't bad. Just not a game-changer for me--but again, I'm not the target audience there. What did impress me was the lavender lemonade. Really flavorful--bright, floral, and refreshing. It was a little strong straight out of the cup, but once I watered it down at home, it hit the spot. Definitely something I'd go back for. Also spotted some lavender honey for sale, which feels like a bit of a find--lavender-anything can be hard to come by, so I consider that a small win. Went to The Buttered Tin in Northeast Minneapolis for Saturday lunch with a friend and the Dill Pickled Grilled Cheese was unreal. (Dill Havarti and provolone cheese, dill pickle chips, and peppadew relish on toasted sourdough bread.) I also added bacon to mine. For a high traffic place they had a really good system of flipping the tables and I don't think I saw one person waiting even though the line was out the door. Such a cute little brunch spot with great service and food! I will say, this place gets BUSY on the weekends and parking is limited (mostly street parking). I was lucky enough to go on a weekday morning with some coworkers and we were able to walk right up to the counter and order. The lattes were amazing- especially the chai! The prices are sky high, and the quality is not reflected in the price. The restaurant is loud--they've used tile everywhere, and sound just bounces around. The line is poorly managed and long. They have their daily specials on a clipboard at the cash register to the right. Other customers are constantly reaching across you, bumping you, and making unwanted body contact to read the specials. If you have a service animal expect to be harassed. There is a very passive-aggressive sign about only "real" service animals being allowed. On one hand that's great. ESA are not the same as a service animal. But on the other hand, the entire place comes off as a physical manifestation of a Karen. The accessibility is so-so. On one side of the door is a cement ramp. But most of the access requires walking up about half a flight of stairs. I didn't notice if there were buttons to open the door. Parking is only in the street and it's a nightmare. read more

Bill total is $69.34 The crust of the pie is nice and golden brown and has a nicely slightly crunchy crust too. The blueberry inside is jam, although I was hoping for some actual blueberry bits, not so. It's okay. The oat milk latte is good. The green tea is so-so. The granola is tiny, the fruit is more abundant than than the granola for sure. The red grapes don't go well with the granola at all. The grapes are wrinkled and bruised too. The smother breakfast burrito is sizable and filled too. It's filled with chorizo, eggs, black beans, hash browns. It's tasty and filling. It feels like a loud cafeteria inside. It's busy and a bit hustled around here The grain bowl doesn't look at appetizing as the menu makes it sound. It's rather tasteless and bland. I smothered it with Cholula to give it some flavors. I couldn't get the grain bowl without the brown rice and I think that's a shame. The brown rice was soft and mushy as it sits together with the quinoa. This grain bowl doesn't taste fresh and was poorly executed here to me. The service was quick at the cashiers. There are he same key people that run the food out to all of the tables. Not impressed with anything so far from this meal, compared to the amazing and flavorful meal we were privileged to have known yesterday at L&B. Everything was underwhelming for us. My hubby and I took a family member here and all three of us loved our meals. I'm trying to reduce calories, so we skipped the amazing looking cinnamon rolls and other tempting baked items. I ordered a simple eggs over medium and their homemade toast, which came with some fabulous jam and a wonderful little salad. The eggs were cooked beyond medium, but were still good. I was expecting to feel a little deprived by my egg and toast order, but instead it felt like a yummy, wonderful treat. Good enough that I still have to give the meal a 5-star review. We went here for breakfast with friends, during a visit to the area. Not only were we staying close by, we were enticed by the different breakfast options we saw on the menu. It was very busy when we arrived. Lots of people wanting to eat but because they only have one order and pay point, a long line. While we spent some time in said line, we had a chance to look at the assortment of food being cooked and delivered. It all looked great. Staff was helpful and friendly during our visit. The layout of the restaurant provided ample seating for the never-ending crowd waiting to order. After getting a table, our meals arrived quickly. I had the Walleye Cake Bennie. It came hot, the poached eggs were done nicely and the cakes, albeit they small, were properly prepared. Sadly, I had to add salt and pepper as everything lacked flavor. My dining partner immediately noticed my actions, as I rarely add salt/pepper. Overall, I enjoyed the American fried potatoes the most. My dining partner enjoyed their avocado toast; commenting several times about the nice "kick" from the red pepper flakes on the toast. We both enjoyed their coffee during our meal. Our friends enjoyed their less adventurous, Pig's Eye breakfasts. Would I go back? Probably. Would I order the same thing? Probably not. It's been a while since going into a restaurant that's set up in which, you're to order and then seat yourself. I also inquired about tipping, as I, noticed that there was no tip line printed on the receipt. MN has a "liveable wage tip surcharge" on receipts that Az has yet to start doing, which, can be a good thing and a bad thing dependingon if you're a tipper or not, fortunately this was a good thing since Rome and Vein provided excellent service. The food is good. I ordered pancakes, bacon and orange juice which were average price in today's pricing and which was yummy! I grabbed lunch here on a Monday. It was busy but not crowded and we had no wait to get seated. Street parking was also easy. I like that breakfast options are still available during the lunch hour. We tried the cinnamon roll, huevos rancheros benedict with chorizo, and regular vanilla twinkie. Some baked goods are discounted after 1 pm; unfortunately we left before then or else I would have bought some more items to sample. Everything I had was delicious. The cinnamon roll was not too sweet, and the flavor of the benny was a different but delicious spin on the classic. I enjoyed the combination of southwest flavors of corn bread, salsa, and ranchero sauce with the richness of the guac, chorizo, and poached egg, all topped by the textural crunch of the tortilla chips. The dish itself is also large enough to share and came with a delicious refreshing salad. The twinkie was good but not an exact replica as the exterior was not as soft. Parking was not an issue!! Lots of parking on the street right outside - woohoo! It's spacious in here and a great set up with booths and tables. It's an "order at the counter" type place and then they bring the food to you which is nice for breakfast meetings and coffee. I had the Walleye Cake Bennie and loved it! They also had Huevos Rancheros Bennie that I'll have to try next time. A little bummed they didn't have your good old regular Eggs Benny, but they give each breakfast favorite a really nice twist. Overall I had a middling experience here. This place immediately loses a star because of the terrible seating situation. You can't make a reservation, there's no one managing seating, and you can't have one person from your party grab a table for your group. You can't sit down until after you've ordered and you just have to hope there's an open spot. It's unnecessarily stressful. As far as food goes, I got the Biscuit Sammie with a side of hash browns. The Sammie was pretty good and had a nice little kick to it, but I do wish the sausage patty were a bit more substantial. The hash browns were just standard has browns. Nothing exciting. For dessert, I tried the Blueberry Hand Pie and Caramel Cream Cake (it was hard to pick from the huge, delicious assortment offered!). The Hand Pie was pretty good--it was the perfect amount of sweet and super flaky. I wish it'd been served warm though! As for the Caramel Cream Cake, it was surprisingly bland. I don't know where to begin with this place. Located right on the SE corner of Marshall and Lowery, you will a well-lit open eatery. Parking is street only, so depending on when you arrive, you may need to walk a block to get to the door. The breakfast items are well made, nicely presented, and large enough to be easily shared; however, why would you do that? You will want leftovers for the following day. This is my third visit. My highlights from my visits are the loaded hashbrowns. These will vary per visit unless you eat there twice a day. If that is the case, you are fantastic, and I tip my hat to you. This is always something exciting and extraordinary unless they put salmon in it. They also have the ubiquitous biscuits and gravy. They have their own spin on it, and whatever they do to put this together, it will also be a first consideration. PRO TIP: put a little of the gravy behind your ear, and people will become strangely attracted to you! There are also some wonderful looking healthy options for one to choose from. Walking in, It is an old school order at the front and then find a table breakfast joint. They have great brunch cocktail options, such as lavender mimosa or ginger, lemon Mimosa, and a variety of fresh baked goods. The cinnamon roll was perfection on a plate warmed up and with the cream cheese topping is the way to go! The biscuit was really dense and we prefer more of a light and fluffy vibe. The gravy made up for it and was packed with flavor and meat! He didn't like the greens and "salad" that came on top. But easily moved to the side of the plate. The breakfast burrito is HUGE and delightful. The hash browns were perfectly crisp with a good portion of meat and well balanced with all the ingredients. I don't like beans and asked to exclude them and felt like it was still a perfect burrito. Ambiance is a cute counter service situation. Would have preferred our table was cleaned better and quicker - but it was Saturday morning and they were hopping. The other thing of note is that we both complained because it was really loud.
