My husband's family has been wanting to check out this buffet for a while, so we stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday at around 1. Surprisingly, the restaurant was pretty full at that time, which I was not expecting. Non-alcoholic drinks are included, even bubble tea! I did not have high expectations for this but it was surprisingly good. I might even say that it's better than some bubble teas I've bought at bubble tea shops. Just make sure you order this when you're ready for dessert because you don't want to fill up on the boba. For the food, like the bubble tea, I also did not have high expectations. And I was right. The quality is comparable to mall food court food. The best thing I ate was the beef chow fun and the snails (the snail tray was always pretty empty, so I only got to try a few). They have a good variety of seafood. For the raw bar, they have sushi, sashimi, oysters, clams, and conch. I did not partake in the raw bar because I was just getting over a stomach virus so I didn't want to take any chances. The cooked seafood was mediocre. The steamed turbot was mushy, crawfish wasn't great, and shrimp was okay. The ginger scallion stone crab was not bad but very messy and hard to eat. You need to request a crab cracker as these do not come standard. After we were done with the crab, we saw other tables with gloves so I'm guessing they were not first timers, and knew to ask for these. Dessert was also okay. The crepes were not it - the batter was way too thick, which made it chewy. Best thing was the matcha soft serve machine, and the cotton candy machine. The lunch price for an adult is $31.99, which isn't terrible because there is a good variety. It's just that the variety isn't very good. Dinner prices jump to $52.99 for weekdays. I'm sure there has to be a significant difference in the types of dishes being served at dinner because if it was $52 for the same dishes, I would be pissed if I had to pay that. Visited The Buffet for lunch on a Saturday. It's located inside the Hotel de Point, on the fourth floor. They validate parking as well, so feel free to park in their lot. We were seated pretty quickly. It is a large room with large floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the views of Queens lol. The buffet is located in the center and it has a lot of different options, including dim sum, sushi, a ramen bar, and various hot foods. The selections include much more than the typical Chinese takeout options you'd find at a normal Chinese buffet. I especially enjoyed the Peking duck and was surprised to find they even had frog legs. Lunch price for Saturday was only $35 and it included drinks. This is five stars with an exclamation point. In a long life, I have been to countless Asian buffets. This is simply the best one I have ever seen. They excel at every point - service, food quality, ambience, and a west window with an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline. The #1 highlight for me was the Peking duck sandwich window, where you went away with very generous slices of roast duck. The sushi and dessert areas were a treat for the eye and the mouth. The crepe station was fun to see because the cook could turn out a crepe from scratch in about 90 seconds. As others have mentioned, be sure to arrive early. I came with my family (a party of 6) on Friday a little after 11:30 am, which is when the buffet opens. To my surprise, there was a small crowd at around opening time! But we were still able to get seated rather quickly. It's a very spacious buffet with an extensive selection of food! I usually go for the sushi and seafood, which I find are decent quality. Those items seem the most popular and are always restocked quickly. There's also a lot of fried food, Chinese dishes, and a dessert bar. Every time I come here, I always leave pretty stuffed. The food you get here isn't your typical American-Chinese food you'd get at other Chinese buffets. You actually get authentic Chinese food, which is what makes it worth it for the price! The crispy pork belly was good too but the skin was way too salty. Typically, the bottom of the pork belly is salted and not the skin, so it was a bit of a surprise. The waitress that we had was very friendly and let us know to go get whatever remaining food we want before the others got to them first since their kitchen was closing around 3pm. However, quality of food; It's consistency, texture and most importantly, it's flavor... *Complete* disaster. At the rate of $56 per person, frankly, my expectations were high. For the amount of money spent, we could have gone to a chic restaurant much closer to home and had the most expensive (and reliable) meal on the menu, leaving with met conjectures, and the feeling that our money was well spent. Instead, we felt scammed, indigestion and road-rage during the hour-long drive home. If I could off half-stars, I'd give 2 1/2 stars. But I can't. The desserts available were pretty good. That I will admit to. The other diners attending the buffet were animalistic. I think I got pushed out of the way four times while trying to read the description of each dish I had intended on sampling. No "Excuse me". No nothing. This is probably my third time leaving a review for this place. I'll let them know last time that they should be adding more being things and I was very pleased that they did. I suggested that they bring back their fried zucchini, sticks and I was very happy that they were there when I came. The only problem is I don't know if they kept her for the night before, but they were not fresh at all. I also would love to see some crispy tofu not soft. They could also bring out a little bit more vegetables. As recommended by reviews, we got there 30 minutes early on a saturday, before their dinner service opened at 5 pm, and there were already a group of people waiting on line. The place looked pretty spacious, even with the swarm of people gathering around the plates of food. We waited to be seated, but first ordered our drinks. I wasn't a fan of their milk tea, as it tasted watered down but we were really here for the food. I loved their raw bar - oyster, clams, sashimi, as well as their cooked seafood and cuts of meats (steak, lamb chop, duck) but was disappointed that they did not have any lobster. Mango sago, ice-cream, chocolate churros, and fried mochi balls were great desserts to end the meal. The Buffet is located in College Point and inside a hotel, 4th floor. There's a parking lot to park for a small fee by the hour (be sure to validate your ticket to save on the cost). The layout of the restaurant is probably one of the more efficient layouts I've seen. It's a smart buffet spot in regards to where everything is placed. The square like formation and the multiple ways to getting around to each station is very convenient. Ready made hot food vs the made to order grill station was great - selections wise. There's also a carving section, fruit section, desserts which includes a chocolate fountain. I particularly liked the sushi selection and raw bar (clams, oysters, and such). So many options! Be sure to scope out the set up before you start eating, you don't want to miss the Peking Duck, the steamed fish, crabs and shrimp options. We came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation and it was 9 adults and 2 kids and we made reservations ahead. We were told to be on time and they can only hold for no more than 10 mins which we totally understood. Everything was on time as our party arrived promptly. Our server were great and this is my first time here but one person in my party came before Covid and said it was great then and it stayed the same now. We were impressed and we came for lunch. We were happy with all the choices and it was definitely worth the price and happy to come back again. They need to have the janitors clean more often to add both ventilation+ air fresheners and also clean up the barf in the sinks. So if you never enter the bathroom on a bad day, the food is amazing! They slice peking duck fresh off the duck on demand and it's crispy and juicy! They have Cantonese style bbq section with char siu, duck, and other various meats. They even have a dim sum section, but I can't tell if they're fresh or they're frozen. Someone will walk you in and give you a table. The soft drinks are unlimited refill. I saw a table with bobatea. The food was a mix of sushi, sashimi, asian and a spot with cajun seafood. The sashimi was pretty good, not a strong sea taste. The washibi paste was a bit watery for me. The oxtail and the cajun dish with the corn was really good. There is also a fruit and dessert section. What a great find beyond the hustle and bustle of main street Flushing. Yes, it took a long bus ride to reach from Main Street, but the food was fantastic, certainly not the typical Chinese buffet that comes to mind. Highlights include Cajun style crawfish which was good enough to rival a real canjun, fresh takoyaki that deliciously gooey inside, bottomless Peking Duck served by a chef who freshly cuts each piece, gigantic stone crabs, and more. I missed going to a buffet and used to go to one on Long Island when I lived there, so was pretty darn excited to discover this one so close to me existed. I enjoyed some of the classic items like lobster and Peking duck, and on the newer (to me) side the spicy fish maws were great but I didn't get around to the jellyfish. I believe this was my first time trying herbs and partridge soup as well as wolfberry black chicken soup. While it seems mandatory to experiment a bit, they also do fine work on some more familiar items, like the delightfully fresh string beans. The only thing I'd skip next time is the ribs, nothing wrong with them but many places have ribs whereas it's harder to find oxtail casserole. In the sashimi/sushi area, the must-have is the tako wasabi, a stunning blast of brininess. The desserts were fine, too, including apple caramel cake and coffee jelly. Usually I would give The Buffet 4 stars. Docked 2 stars today not because of the quality or variety of food but for the very rude waiter, Aiden, assigned to our table. We were a party of 6 adults and 1 child. We asked the waiter how we can best determine which food our child with dairy and nut allergy should avoid. He responded saying that it's impossible for him to show us which food to avoid with so many food options in the buffet. Nor does he have the time or energy to do so. We mentioned that we actually called ahead of time and the one who picked up told us that we have to inquire with the waiter after we sit down. For a $30 lunch buffet there is plenty of good food to eat. They have a great variety of sushi options. The sushi was pretty good considering it's a Buffet. There were also a good number of dishes like you could get your own stirfry dish with whatever you would like in it but they also had traditional dishes such as mapo tofu. I really love the dessert option they even had fried milk which I love. They also had a chocolate fountain witch you can dip pineapple or marshmallows until which is so delicious they also had a lot of delicious tapioca soups. Just lots of variety which is great! There is also a parking lot where you can park your car but it's a paid parking lot and so you can get your parking ticket validated if you hang onto the ticket and have the buffet validate your ticket.
