We visited Charcoal Grill & Modern Buffet, located at Linden Center in Lindenwood because we were curious how this place compared with Sea and Sky Feast Buffet in Downtown Flushing (which recently downgraded its menu), as the two are equivalently priced. Charcoal Grill is a bustling place, far more popular than the latter. Charcoal Grill charges a weekend price of $30.24 per adult ($27.99 plus 12% service charge), before suggested tips. This seems to place the restaurant about one tier below AYCE buffets that offer unlimited snow crab legs, like The Buffet in College Point. We visited at a relatively early time, before 6 PM, and were seated immediately. By the time we left, the waiting area was full -- so come early, if you can. Charcoal Grill has a wide array of offerings for broad appeal, which include: - a hibachi grill that cooks ingredients of your choice to order, including huge slabs of beef, mounds of shrimp, noodles, etc. - sushi and sashimi stations, offering both cooked and raw foods. - a few "take-out" dishes, like Beef & Broccoli. Despite this, nothing stood out to us as particularly appealing at first glance. Most of the food, as expected, was mediocre. However, it isn't bad to gnaw on unlimited amounts of roast beef, stone crab, blue crab, yellow dragonfruit, BBQ spare ribs, shrimp in mayonnaise sauce, etc.. I was impressed with the effort that the sushi station chefs put into making their sushi visually attractive. And the ice cream here tasted like ice cream, not like wax-like products found at other buffets. We would choose Sea and Sky over Charcoal for the former's beef short ribs, Peking duck buns, and slightly less overcooked fish, but I suspect most people would be happy with Charcoal Grill & Modern Buffet.

I'm not big fan of AYCE buffets because I'll eat too much average food and then I'll stuffer the whole night but... This AYCE buffet is pretty good. The layout & food items with the Habachi Grill and Sushi bar is the same as places I've visited many years ago. So the place is old school with a "modern" layout. Dinning area is very large, bright and roomy aisles. Servicer was good and attentive. Food items are a good variety and fresh. We were there on Easter weekend and it was super crowded! The big attraction is the birthday parties! Every 10 minutes there was a birthday sing-along by the waiters with small BD cake, candle and a plushie gift! AND the birthday person eat for free (I think there is a minimum party size of 3 to qualify). Seniors get 10% too! Overall, we had a great time. The food was very fresh and well cooked. Service was helpful. The place is clean. The bathroom is clean! Plenty of parking in this strip mall. Do expect to wait on weekend peak hours. The price is very reasonable!

My first experience with AYCE; I work nearby and wanted something other than Chipotle, Crown Fried Chicken, and Hook & Reel I'd been rotating on. I'd grown tired of the latter two's use of single-use takeout containers and also wanted to report back how this new business was to my colleagues. The variety's fun, and it seems like the only restaurant that I know of in the area that serves miso soup! I went by myself; I bet it'd be more fun with a bunch of other people because the large dining hall where I was seated felt a little institutional otherwise. The service was consistent, and you can take leftovers home which I should've taken advantage of since with the added service charge my bill came down to $20. Maybe this is typical for AYCE, but I'm trying to make it fit into a workday lunch.

I always said I was going pay a visit to this New Buffet in the shopping area of Ozone Park. Service was excellent. Easy and smooth. Staff is very observant and move with speed and alertness. Delicious fresh hot food. So many options and choices to choose from but everything is delicious. I enjoy the sushi bar and the Chinese Lo-Mein, fried chicken, sweet plantain, white rice, BBQ ribs. Dessert for the icecream lover so good. They sang Happy Birthday to my princess and made her felt evenin more special. 10/10 Highly recommend visit I would be back real soon.

Located in a plaza with parking lot shared with DD , Five Below etc. Price is reasonable. Great variety of choices. Food is fresh due to high turnover of crowd. Tables are close to each other which makes seating a little uncomfortable. We went on a Friday evening and there's a waitlist. Birthday person eats free on the exact day if two other adults pay full price.

This is a new buffet on the borderline of Brooklyn/Queens. Its takes a Howardd Beach address and is technically the end of East New York. I saw many Google reviews of people saying the Buffet is hard to find GPS took them way out of the way when they typed in the name of the restaurant. So just wanted to give a bit of perspective/direction advice. The Lindenwood Diner on Linden Blvd is a neighborhood icon. If you put that in your search this is easier to find. There's a shopping center across the Blvd from the diner. Drive through that shopping center alllll the way till the other end you'll see the buffet it's the very last business of the shopping center. Tons of parking. The buffet is very big. Lots of seating ,it used to be a supermarket before so very spacious. They have various price ranges - weekday lunch specials, weekdays diner and weekend prices. Lots of signage. We got there at 310pm. , just making the end of lunch special price. I then saw a sign that said arrive by 315 (the special is supposed to end at 330 pm) I guess the 15 mins is to give them time to bring in the dinner items. The dinner items are labeled and if you're sitting during the cusp time like us it's not forbidden but if you take something labeled Dinner they will then stich your price to dinner. Don't think you can sneak a dinner item without them knowing lol. They literally grab your empty plates (or scrap plates - shells ,b9nes etc) the moment you're done. The waitresses are swift and keep your tables cleared and your drinks refilled . They are also friendly, and stay on top of keeping the place clean. The turnover at the steam tables is also good. Food is constantly being brought out and nothing looked like it waa sitting long. It was also a really busy as we went during school winter break. I heard weekends are pretty packed as well. As for the food ,honestly I wasn't impressed. Yes they have a good range of dishes and the food looked fresher but nothing really make me exited in taste. I mostly had the cold bar which was shrimp and mussels. There were no crabs legs (even for dinner ) ,perhaps on the weekends. The meats were ok. Kids mac and cheese and chicken wings were not good ,tasted like out of the Costco boxes. My son who lives for wings didn't care for it. So I convinced him to eat the shrimp. I go to buffets for the seafood and meats . Variety was kinda lacking and also taste. The sushi section waa less impressive as were the desserts. I know most buffets dont make their desserts. They had small mousse layer cake slices and ice cream, fruit and jello. Not enough variety of cakes. Overall okay but nothing I'd crave to make this spot a must - go destination. Must note that the place was very clean , steam tables were well maintained and kept clean and stocked, service was great.

Went there last night for dinner with my husband and son The food was delicious as always Service was great every time you finish your plate waitress is there to clean table, so you can get up to get your next dish Music is okay, there were four birthdays there The waitresses and waiters come to your table and sign happy birthday to you with the music I definitely will be going back there soon with my family You should go there and try it you won't regret it! Put photos up of what I ate last night

First of all, Google maps messed up the restaurant location and located the restaurant to somewhere on 101 Ave. Tip: don't enter the restaurant name on Google maps, enter the actual address. Pros: Food are refilled relatively quickly; there is a sauce station neat and clean. The options cover meat, seafood, veggies, sushi, grills, salad, fruits, desserts. Takes credit card even Amex, same price for cash and credit card. Cons: More than one waitresses have long decorated nails..kinda bothers me for their roles, but luckily they only serve water in cups and not really touching the food.. The grill station seems under staffed, only one person taking care of 6 orders at the same time, and is also responsible for grill station refills. A lot of the food options are either fried or overcooked. So even though there are many choices, most of them are not great. Although this place is a little cheaper than DJ's, I still think DJ's has better food and is a better buffet.

New buffet opened in my area so I had to try it out . It's a buffet that has a large variety of Chinese and American foods as well as hibachi . They serve lunch and dinner and you can even order takeout which I thought was a good idea . The food itself is just ok nothing to crazy nothing to fancy . Some items better than others and some not so good at all . The service is good the place is clean and the price is cheap think it was like 14.99 for lunch . It's not a place you would go too often I'd say but it's definitely worth the price of the food you get . They even have ice cream for desert and pastries which I thought was a nice touch . I'll come back to try dinner next time .

Found my new NYC's best AYCE! An all-you-can-eat experience that actually delivers. From sweet, buttery lobster and a generous spread of fresh seafood, to clean-cut sashimi and sushi, the variety here makes every round feel intentional. Beyond the cold bar, you'll also find a solid selection of hot dishes that bring comfort and balance to the meal. End on a refreshing note with fresh fruits and a full dessert selection, because a good finish matters just as much as the main event. Lunch: $14.99 Dinner: $20.99 Weekend & Holiday: $22.99 Follow me @foodie.elite on IG and Tiktok for more good finds!

It was a…read moreSaturday around 10 p.m., and finding an open place to eat at that hour was not easy, so this felt like a practical option on the way home. I live in New Jersey, and I knew that if I didn't eat somewhere near the airport, I was probably not going to eat at all that night. We ordered papa a la huancaína, a tamal, and leche de tigre, and the total came to about $48, which Its affordable by the area standards. Peruvian food is not necessarily cheap, so my issue was not mainly the price. My issue was the quality and the care behind the food. Its important to note here I am Peruvian, so I say this with real knowledge of the cuisine and with disappointment, not malice. The papa a la huancaína came with about four or five potato pieces, half an egg, one lettuce leaf, and no olive. Quantity-wise, the potatoes were fine, but the sauce told the whole story. It barely tasted like ají amarillo, and the flavor felt muted and commercial, like it was made more for cost control than for enjoyment. Huancaína sauce should have character, richness, and that unmistakable Peruvian flavor. This one felt flat. The tamal was decent in flavor, so I will give credit there, but it had only one slice of pork, no egg, and very little ají. It was a good size, but still did not feel worth the price. Again, it felt like the ingredients were being stretched too far. The most disappointing item was the leche de tigre. This is a dish that deserves much more respect because for many people, ceviche and related dishes are among the most recognized parts of Peruvian cuisine. This preparation did not feel delicate or authentic. It tasted like corners were cut. As someone who knows Peruvian food and has worked in restaurants before, I understand that using enough lime to properly prepare fish is expensive in the U.S. But that is exactly the point: if you are going to serve this dish, then do it right. If not, don't present it as something special. $21 for this? Honestly, I felt CHEATED. What frustrated me most is that this restaurant clearly has potential. The decor is nice, ready for selfies and Instagram pictures; you can tell effort was put into the presentation of the space. But to me, it felt like more attention went into ambiance than into the food itself. My impression was that the restaurant is aimed more at people who are not very familiar with Peruvian food and may accept a more mediocre version of it. For someone who truly knows and loves Peruvian cuisine, this was disappointing. I've had much better Peruvian food in less polished places in New Jersey, especially in Paterson. The decor at Mixtura may be prettier, but the food I had there was, at best, low-end mediocre. I ate it because I was hungry and it was late, and I appreciate that they were open when I needed a meal. But I would not go back, even in the same situation again. If you are Peruvian or very familiar with authentic Peruvian food, this may not be the place for you. If you are simply craving something nearby and are not especially focused on authenticity or quality, then maybe it will work for you. But for me, this is a one-time visit only. Sorry, its a NO-GO for a second visit.
