This was my second visit to Cap't Loui, and it reminded me exactly why it's one of my favorite spots for a seafood boil. I started with the Hurricane Red cocktail, and it was fantastic. It comes in a cute drink pouch, has a generous pour, and definitely doesn't skimp on the alcohol. Even with the rum, dark rum, orange juice, and grenadine, it still tastes amazing and strikes a really nice balance. For my appetizer, I ordered a cup of the New England clam chowder. It was fresh, creamy, and packed with plenty of clam pieces in every bite. Unless you're a huge clam chowder fan or planning to make it your meal, I think the cup is the perfect size to enjoy before digging into a seafood boil. For my boil, I ordered half a pound of mussels and half a pound of head off shrimp with Cap't Loui sauce at the hot spice level. It also came with corn and potato, and I added boiled egg. If you're someone who loves a Cajun style seafood boil with a noticeable kick, the hot Cap't Loui sauce absolutely delivers without sacrificing flavor. Another thing I appreciate is that they provide branded plastic bibs and gloves, which makes the whole experience much less messy and lets you fully enjoy the meal. The restaurant tables were also decorated with cute seafood-themed paper tablecloth to keep everything clean as well. The service was just as impressive as the food. Everyone was attentive, and everything, from the drinks to the chowder to the boil, came out surprisingly fast. This is easily one of my favorite places when I'm craving a seafood boil, and I'll definitely be back again. read more

This was a recommendation from a friend in the neighborhood. She was spot on this place. Not too crowded, spacious and very clean. The staff was super friendly, accommodating and polite overall. Food: Shrimp basket was delicious the fries were a little salty on my end. Picked 3 seafood (Shrimp head off, Snow crab legs, crawfish. The crawfish was a little sus, so the waitress Sue was able to take it off bill. Everything was really good and fresh!! Get the garlic noodles, pretty damn good!! I went here the other day for dinner with my girlfriend and unfortunately our expectations weren't met due to order being messed up. The waitress repeated our order in specific to us but the chef ruined it. She ordered 1x hot and for myself, I got 2x hot. Low and behold, they mixed up the spices between our orders. Unfortunately, due to their screw up, the aftermath wasn't the best. Free ice cream wasn't enough, especially that they don't carry chocolate flavored ice cream. We did ask them what they can do about the mess up but fortunately they were able to make my bag spicier as I was able to finally enjoy it. Would we go back? Maybe, maybe not. I am a huge seafood boil lover and once captain Loui opened in Queens- I knew I had to check it out! I've dined at the South Ozone location atleast 5 times since they opened and never had a bad experience. I've even ordered delivery and the food quality remained high. The servers were always polite, accommodating, and made me feel very welcomed + did I mention the food is good?! The restaurant has the expected look of a seafood boil restaurant- food pictures on the wall, fishing gears etc music is usually moderately low and adds to the ambience Food: I typically opt for the lemon pepper fries, lobster roll, whole Dungeness crab with shrimp head on, corn & rice ( sausage too if it's pay day lol) Currently no happy hour at this location and no outdoor seating. Reservations can be made but I've never had an issue with walking in My only feedback: the cocktail menu needs some work. The boil was fresh and the sauce was amazing. On par with Oceanic Boil in Rego Park Queens. Definitely better than most of the boils in Flushing, so if you're craving seafood boil, give it a try. Also the adult Capri sun drinks are tasty and packs a punch. read more

I was kinda disappointed when I did my online order and asked for my two orders to be placed in separate bags, one spicy and one mild, but they both ended up in the same bag and both spicy. I first discovered this place in Boston a few years back and fell in love with it now that we finally have one in NYC it's not the same like Boston. This was my 1st time trying this location. I've been to the one on Myrtle Avenue countless amount of times . It was pretty empty when we arrived which was great because we got to sit anywhere of our choice lol. Staff was friendly which is always a plus. Wasn't too hungry today but was eager to try this location out. Food was good as per usual but the the drink I order (Virgin Mojito) was pretty much Sprite with Mint leaves. I didn't like it especially since I don't drink soda like that so they took it back with no problem and didn't charge me. My family also had a strawberry lemonade and I believe a Mr Yellow. I ordered Garlic noodles which are ways delicious and Fish n Chips. 3 nice size pieces of Cod which was very fulfilling. Maybe when my Lent season is over I will come back and have a real drink. There is no bar so they make the drinks in the back... I would like to see them create a bar area. I think it will be more of an attraction to the location. It's definitely nice to have a seafood restaurant in the neighborhood. Cap't Loui hasn't been opened for that long but the food is pretty good. I usually get Set A. It comes with a combination of mussels, clams, shrimp and you will get corn and potatoes as well. Every set comes with garlic noodles. The New England Chowder isn't bad but a bit thick. If you live in the neighborhood, its worth a try. read more
