    Pink starburst. Yum

This is my cousins go to hibachi spot so she Invited me to stop by for a quick bite. We didn't do the cooking station this time- we ate at the regular dining area. She had the shrimp and scallop hibachi entree with fried rice. I have to say that in some places the hibachi in the dine in section doesn't have that hibachi flavor but you it did here . It had that firey Smokey taste as if it they brought it fresh off the other side. I had the pink starburst which was amazing. It's like a lychee martini but pink. Really good. I'll be back.

Craving hibachi, a group of us made a reservation and came for a hibachi experience. The hibachi performance were very energetic and lively making for a really fun dinner from the youngest to the oldest. The stunt with the sake gun where sake (or the non alcoholic kind) is sprayed into your mouth is a little intimidating. Make sure to firmly say no if you don't want to partake... We mixed and matched a few of the combo hibachi which turned out to be great because our party had a few people who didn't come as hungry. Food wise, the scallop was my personal favorite of the hibachi. The food was cooked a little bit on the saltier side, but still had good flavor - especially paired with their sauces. We also ordered some rolls and appetizers - the rolls were alright, but the soft shell crab definitely hit the spot. Don't expect top tier food, but for vibes and a lively night, nikko is a pretty solid choice.

I never knew about this place. My sister and I wanted to go for a walk at Cunningham Park but wanted to grab food first. We stumbled upon this place. It's a nice size restaurant. One side is regular booths and a bar and the other side has the hibachi tables. The service was good. Everyone worked as a team making sure our waters were full and finished dishes were collected. My sister and I ordered pork gyoza for our appetizer which was so good. I never had it before and really liked it. The chicken lo mein was phenomenal. We both got hibachi for our entrees. Everything was delicious. We had to get dessert! The fried ice cream had an after taste which we didn't really care for but we finished it. My sister got an Angry Orchard for her drink. Overall, I had a nice experience. We are for sure going to come back.

This place really gained in popularity recently. It was packed when we went for our friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We had reservations and waited about 5-10 minutes for our table to be ready which is fine. The food is ok- nothing special and came out fairly quickly. I noticed that the add tip/service charge to ALL the bills. Not sure I am fond if this idea as a tip is optional for service provided. This alone puts me off to potentially going back. My friend told me that even in a party of 2, they still add the tip into the bill.

We made reservations and were seated within 5 min. Our chef was amazing. Funny & interactive. He made our night and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back

The atmosphere here is nice, it's a great place to bring a date, or catch up with friends. I came here for lunch with my wife. Our server promptly came to us and took drinks and order. She was friendly and helpful. The drinks were okay, and same for the food. It's not much to brag about. I did ask for hot sauce and received sriracha, which was expected. Lunch was also reasonably priced with the lunch specials being $13, which included shrimp stick, and an entree. I'll go back again because my wife works nearby however, I would not go out of my way

    Filet Mignon Hibachi Lunch Special

My favorite hibachi place ever!!!!! I go at least twice a month & am basically a regular. The food is the best hibachi you can get in nyc. If you are on a budget I recommend going in the afternoon for the lunch special the food is almost half the price for just a slightly smaller portion. Note that tip is included in the bill which shouldn't matter because the service is so good you're going to end up tipping anyway. If you haven't tried the chicken wings here you need too! I always get my tried and true filet mignon hibachi with wings as an appetizer and fried Oreos for dessert. It's very calm on the booth side which is where I like to sit but the hibachi show is always fun as well. 10/10 I recommend this spot to everyone I know.

In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery. On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. However, truth be told, just come for the fun and interesting sushi rolls and forget about the nigiri or sashimi.

As…read moresomeone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.

I asked for hot green tea while he got a bottle of Japanese pineapple soda. We ordered at the counter because no one was when we entered so we didn't know if there was table service. This spot used to be a Chinese takeout so it is definitely on the casual side. We sat at one of the tables (5 two tops). We had grabbed some disposable chopsticks and napkins from the counter. When the server came with the tonkatsu and tempura, she had napkins and chopsticks for us so I guess we didn't have to help ourselves beforehand. She then came with a lovely teapot and two small cups for the tea. The tempura was different from most places - no crunchy panko crust and no dipping sauce. When she came back, I asked about a sauce and she pointed to a small dish with thick dark sauce. I had thought that was for the tonkatsu. The poke took even longer and that was also different from what I'm used to. The fish pieces were not marinated - she gave me a small dish with soy sauce. The sliced jalapeño was also a surprise. I had thought I would get a spicy marinade on the poke. I mixed in the soy sauce and ate it with the sliced jalapeños. When we came home and looked at the receipt, the prices were weird. The tea was $1.56 and the $22 dishes were $22.88. Apparently we were charged a 4% credit fee which wasn't disclosed - or we missed the sign.

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
