This was a pick up order so I'll make this short and sweet. This place is located in a shopping center next to carvel and Gaby's. The space is small but it's nice in there with dim lights and a mix of neon lights. HANDS DOWN THE BEST MISO SOUP I've had in my life!!!! I ordered the California roll as well which was good but that miso soup was toooooo good.

California roll & shrimp tempura

I liked shogun. I only had the California roll & a shrimp tempura. They both were good but I wish that I would've an extra soy sauce. It wasn't enough for both. The place was nice and the person helping was nice as well. I took it to go didn't eat there but I will try to sit down next time.

Barely cooked chicken wings!!

Rude Rude RUDE!!! Bad, Bad, BAD food !! Everything was disgusting and not good at all! When I walked in the order taker literally said "what do you want". She did not greet me or even smile. I should have taken this as a HUGE RED FLAG. I just figured that she was dealing with a bad customer so I stayed. I asked her a few questions and she was very impatient and beyond rude. At this point I started walking out and then she slightly changed her attitude. I ordered chicken wings and three rolls of sushi. Chicken wings were not cooked and the eel avocado rolls were terrible with a mm of eel inside. I've attached pictures. If you want nasty food with a messed up order taker, please come to this establishment!!

The taste was fresh! I wanted to go there for awhile since it's named after a FX show I like, which is good by the way. I'm very pleased with the fish quality. I'll definitely order from there again.

Ordered was the dinner bento box, crunchy tuna maki rolls, and shogun special. Everything was delicious! The dinner bento box $15.99 was more than filling! I would recommend. I got the teriyaki shrimp box. The sauce from the shrimps was so good! I loved every item from the box. The crunchy tuna was crunchy and great tasting. The shogun box $19.99 was amazing! It came with the dragon roll and rock and roll rolls. Green tea cream was refreshing $3.99 . The decor is pretty! Perfect for a date, hangouts, and small Birthday parties.

I don't really have much to say as this place is comparable to other places I've tried in the past. I ordered my usual, Shrimp tempura: ($8.99) very fresh. Still very warm when I received it Eel cucumber: ($6.50) it was comparable to the other sushi places I tried. Very good. Philadelphia: ($6.50) same thoughts as the eel cucumber. It should be noted that each roll has 6 pieces. Delivery was very quick too.

Pretty great food. We had a California roll, shrimp tempura, dragon roll, plum wine, and steamed shrimp dumplings.

Recommended by Yelp. Needed a quick but good dinner and not fast food. Looking at nearby restaurants my party decided on sushi rather than pizza. Therefore, Shogun was the spot. Walked in and there is no place to stand, you wait in line (you will need a mask) and place your order. We ordered two sushi and one bento box(mine). The prices were reasonable and we were asked to come back in 15 minutes. I love the DIY contactless payment and pickup. We waited in the parking lot, looked at our next few places to eat, then picked up the order. It was packed with care and warm to touch. The sushi was a hit and since it was my first bento box, I can say it was good--not american style asian fair. I especially enjoy the small wasabi and ginger. I would revisit but my stay in NYC is short and there are about 7 other spots on the list to hit. Will do again if I come back this way. Quick, reasonable, and good.

First visit... placing an order to go. Definitely has a nice ambience. Off street parking and reasonably priced. It beats me having to drive to Union Tpke for Sushi. So, this review is for service and appearance only. Ok, I took my food home and had a taste of their cuisine...I ordered and ate the seaweed salad, vegetable gotta and the dancing shrimp roll. The vegetable gyoza had an odd flavor... it may have been from the gyoza wrapper... it was green (I guess because I ordered the veggie) but it tasted like chemical and cigarette... I really can't describe it. I felt the green peas in my mouth but the flavor... The dancing shrimp roll was good and tasty. The ginger and was good as well. The seaweed salad ... when I got to the bottom it tasted and looked like maybe green zucchini or cucumber because the texture was different and the size was much larger than seaweed. See my photos

The large roll is a specialty sushi roll with mango. The other 2 are regular salmon/avocado rolls and spicy tuna with crunch.

Really good! I was actually surprised. The decor is really nice and the restaurant is super clean, it is very new and I hope the cleanliness of this sushi spot stays this way. We had California rolls, I forgot the the of my roll but it was shrimp with crabmeat.. and something else. It was truly delicious! My husband also enjoys his sushi. We also had a chicken fried rice, it was okay. I tough the sushi rolls were a lot better. Overall is was a great experience and since we live close by we will be regulars here :)

Chose to finally come give this place a try because a friend had been raving about it for a while and let me just say I should've came sooner! It was great on all levels, from service to food quality/taste! Delicious! Their Sushi is fresh, which is always super important and their hibachi meals are just as yummy! I tried the steak and shrimp hibachi, it goes for about $18 I believe and they provide way more food than expected! It comes with noodles, fried rice and broccoli! I will be returning soon and definitely recommend for anyone to try! Great selections and everything is good

But this place completely knocked it out of the park. It far exceeded everything we anticipated. We were seated in a private booth, which made the experience feel even more authentic and intimate. Every dish that came out was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. They even provided a bell to press for service, and each time, the server appeared almost instantly with a warm smile. It's clear the owner and management truly know how to create and run a successful business--from the attention to detail to the seamless service and overall experience. For a moment, it truly felt like we had been transported back to Japan. An unforgettable dining experience.

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.

I could have gotten many refills but I was dining with my wife and kids, and only opted for 1 refill. I got the tonkatsu ramen with garlic which is my go to ramen. I have come to kyuramen countless times of the years and they always say theres a chance of winning free ramen or a free drink. Yeah right... I was very skeptical and always have been. When you finish your ramen and broth, you would check at the bottom of your bowl to see if you won or not. I have never won except this time!! When you tell the server, they'll give you a little voucher/card to be used in about 3 weeks time. The time period for redemption is a bit short, but it's better than nothing. The food here is always good, the service generally attentive and fast. A nice place to bring your family or a date.

I really liked attention that went into the decors at this place. There are Japanese wooden prayer cards hanging on the walls. Some seatings are encapsulated in honey comb-shaped panels. Everything was made out of wood from tables to chairs to napkin holders and condiment jars. For appetizers, we had the Japanese fried oyster and calamari. Both were delicious especially the oysters that were popping out in the middle. I got the Yin Yang ramen which apparently was inspired by the yin yang hot pot with split broths. I immediately took a liking to this novel idea since I did want to try two different broths. I believe the red spicy side was miso-based, while the white side was tonkotsu. I quite enjoyed the red side as it was flavorful. The tonkotsu broth was a bit underwhelming as I thought it was pretty bland tasting. I also wished that it was served warmer. What I got was a bit tepid. Not pictured: my friend got the same ramen but his piece of the pork belly consisted entirely of fat with no lean meat. That was a bit disappointing. Despite the aforementioned misses, I did enjoy dining here and look forward to coming back and try their Omurice.

It's been a while since I've returned so when I was given a choice, this was and still is, my go to place when I'm nearby. This visit - lots of sushi on my mind. I ordered the chirashi bowl as my entree and a la carte, sea urchin sushi. Today the Hokaiddo uni was available so I splurged and got it. The California uni was available too but given the option, Hokaiddo is the way to go! The Chirashi is a beautiful bowl of fresh sushi - given my allergy to shrimp, I asked for a substitute piece of fish. They accommodated without an issue. The tuna, salmon, and mackerel was outstanding - so fresh! The octopus, yellowtail and tamago were perfect. I enjoyed this very much... Couldn't finish the rice. The bowl is a great deal and value. For starters, my friend and I enjoyed the lightly fried soft shell crab. It was simply divine - great crunch and a soft shell indeed. The optional scallion and dipping sauce isn't really needed but available. So good! It was super fresh. My friend ordered the Black Cod Bento box. Rice bowl comes on the side. These bento boxes are the best deal: comes with gyoza, fried tofu, edamame seaweed salad, wasabi salt, cucumber salad, both shrimp and vegetable tempura (even eggplant!) and the cod was sitting on top of some sauteed string beans. Both of our dinners came with a choice of house salad or miso soup. I recommended the salad because the dressing is fantastic here - citrusy and light ginger I think, with a bright orange color appeal. The complimentary noodles as a palate starter was also fantastic. There is a parking lot in the rear but I've often found spots easily on the street (metered parking but free after 7pm on the weekdays).
