dinner and a show

deff returning just coming back with an extra friend or two. Hagane Hibachi & Japanese Grill is a cozy spot in Queens that delivers on flavor and generous portions. I stopped by on a Saturday around 6 PM and was seated right away no reservations needed. The hibachi experience was a classic case with the usual fun tricks and plenty of food. I ordered the chicken and salmon, expecting the standard fried rice and veggies, but the chef surprised us with noodles as well, which was a nice bonus. The space is intimate, with only about four hibachi grills, so it is perfect for a quick, casual date or a family night out. Keep in mind, you'll need to order at least two hibachi meals if you're going for the grill experience. The warm service and tasty food make for a pleasant moment with friends. Make sure to come with friends considering it is somewhat dependent on the number of people that want to have cooked.

Came here to take my dad out for his birthday. We live near by and never tried it. It was pretty good. I'm not a huge habachi fan but we did all enjoy it. Not much of a show. They didn't do the toss rice in your mouth shenanigans other places usually do. I kind of wish they did though because it's been years since my daughter has been to a habachi restaurant. Overall, small intimate place. About 4 habachi grills. We didn't make reservations. Came as a walking and they were able to take us right away. Would I come back? Yeah. It was good and the staff was extremely nice. P.S. my daughter did not drink the bubble tea. Wasn't her thing.

Great hibachi show and great prices here. The chef is funny and the food was good. I've definitely had better hibachi but this was fresh and not full of salt. We came here after the Brooklyn half marathon and it was definitely a great post race meal. We all left full and happy to have spent an afternoon with some hibachi!

We have gone here for sushi a few times on the way home from Rockaway beach. The staff is super nice. Sushi is upstairs and it's a bit warm. It's not so bad though. The sushi is yummy

Hagane was super cool and one thing about this place is that they gave excellent excellent customer service and I was there for it. We came through as a party of 4 on a late Saturday evening, and were seated within 15 minutes of arriving. After taking our names we were seated upstairs in the waiting area which was kind of cold. I'm not sure why the temp was so low upstairs but I think it may have something to do with the fact that it's already very warm downstairs with the cooking (perhaps the upstairs was to balance it out ) and also where the fresh sushi is kept. Anyway after waiting, we were seated downstairs at the table. There was another party of about five or six who were seated at the same table/section as us. The waiter took our orders and was really nice and detailed in answering all of the questions we had about the food. We ordered entrees and each entree came with a salad, soup and the actual meal. The salad and soup were great starters before our food. So the chef comes out and his hand game is crazy. The way he was chopping up the onions, the veggies and the eggs with such precision was bananas. He was really good and I loved watching him cook everything right in front of us. He had a straight face and was really and truly focused. The only thing that was missing is he could have been a little, nah actually a lot more engaging. Like a whole lot. That would've made so much of a difference. Also, it would be dope if they offered Japanese beverages. Lastly, the host was the best. She really did the thing with her excellent customer service that came with a smile from the time we came in until the time we left. Loved the service and the ambiance was just okay. Definitely a nice last-minute casual spot to go to.

Hagane is a really solid choice for Hibachi. It is a smaller restaurant and I feel that works to your advantage as a customer because you get more individual attention. They offer the usual hibachi options (chicken, shrimp, steak, filet mignon, salmon, etc. and combo platters) as well as some Sushi and appetizers from the kitchen. The Hibachi chefs are entertaining, they cook the food just to your liking (my filet was perfectly medium rare and the salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside) and relatively quickly. I got the filet mignon and salmon platter. The hibachi comes with onion soup and salad with the orange ginger dressing, noodles and rice (white or fried), 2 shrimp, and mixed veggies. I liked that the veggies were a whole medley including broccoli. I love coming to Hibachi places like Hagane with friends or family for a dinner celebration. The only thing I could think they could add would be the Sake fountains that chefs often do at other places and more drink options. Despite that this place is definitely a regular for me for great Hibachi!

This place was ok. I wouldn't go back here. My sister picked this restaurant for dinner after we left the beach. It was on the way home. We ended up here because of the reviews, but neither of us was impressed. There was no one in the two story restaurant when we arrived. They walked us upstairs to the back corner. It was super desolate and strange. The vibe upstairs was really different than the first floor. It seemed like we were in an empty hotel - and we also were away from all of the wait staff. So it was difficult to flag anyone down. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops - these were super bland. I ordered sushi too, but it didn't taste fresh. This place is really out of the way for me and I was also not impressed, so I wouldn't come back here.

My sad ass steamed vegetable "hibachi"

Sad attempt at being vegetarian friendly and very rude customer service. I ordered hibachi vegetables for delivery and received a bunch of steamed vegetables with no sauce. When I called to bring the issue up, they stated that their hibachi vegetables is just steamed vegetables without any sauce. Now this isn't my first rodeo. I've ordered hibachi vegetables several times. Never in my lifetime have I ever received steamed vegetables as a hibachi dish. I didn't even get any sauce to pour over my bland vegetables. Completely unacceptable.

My boyfriend wanted to go here after driving past here when he was in the area. He told me he wanted to try this restaurant he seen in Howard Beach & we decided to go. We went around 1pm on a Wednesday. There was no one dining in on the first floor. We were served salad with the classic yummy Japanese dressing. We did the Hibachi Lunch Special, your choice of meat with noodles, veggies and fried rice. I got shrimp (which was yummy) and my boyfriend got steak (which he enjoyed well done). The food tricks were cool, nothing too exciting but still cool. We ordered green apple and mango martinis, which tasted okay. The food was good. The service was good. Parking was convenient. I would definitely return whenever I'm in the mood for some inexpensive, good Hibachi food.

I remember when this business opened more than ten years now. I concur with previous Yelp reviews that Ozone Park have very little food options for dining-in cafes and restaurants for many years and choosing Ozone Park is to go down the rabbit hole. I have chosen to patronized Hana Asian Bistro on a extreme heat, hot humid day which calls for sushi and sashimi. Sushi and Sashimi for one, $34.50 Chef's choice (Omakase) of 5 pieces assorted sushi and 10 pieces assorted sashimi with tuna roll and California roll. This platter is accompanied with either miso soup or salad. I decided on salad which is my default choice. I decided on hot Matcha green tea to accompany my meal. I did not taste any Matcha nor was there any putrid aroma as it was very weak and paucity. This platter was gargantuan as I was unable to finish it entirely. Salad - The lettuce was swimming in ginger dressing that was very watery. The one cherry tomato was not cut which is unusual. The cucumber was gargantuan in size as it is the largest I have seen embedded in a salad. Tuna roll - Fresh and I can taste the tuna. This was a pleasure. California roll - contains too much avocado and minimal cucumber. Tasted weird that I cannot finish as it was hard to swallow. There are giant screens that give a irksome strobe lighting effect. The dim LED lighting during my lunch makes it difficult to see especially reading the menu and gave me a headache while I sat hoping for phlegmatic disposition but was wamble. I saw an elderly man who walked-in after me dined alone for lunch and had to use a flash light. Customer service is average and provide reasonable accommodation to a seat neighbor with a flash light to view the menu. There is a full bar and large plasmas television screens to appease the sport aficionado customer. The drink menu is intense for cocktails and I wonder if the proprietor(s) monitor patrons' alcohol intake level for possible DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) offense. The extensive takeout menu also serve as the dine-in menu. Unlike the standard traditional, very conservative Japanese restaurant, Hana Asian Bistro fends a very bold modern Asian bistro, non-traditional atmospheric setting and targets the non-Asian clientele. Wooden disposable chopsticks are provided to preserve the traditional Japanese dining experience... at least. The background music is annoyingly boisterous loud playing either K-pop and R&B. There are two (2) facilities available and relatively clean. The interior of the facility there are no hooks for jackets, coats or bags as I had to place my bag on the door hinge. The hand air dryer in the facility does does not fully function as I inevitably dried my hands with a paper towel. The bathroom faucet sink appears to be Kohler brand which is very modernly unique large flat basin with edges for drainage. The large doors mirrors the main entrances' large doors for a dramatic appearance. The facade is heavily plastered with vexatious advertisements of their food and drink offerings. A gratuity guide is printed on the bottom of the sales receipt with intervals of 18%, 20& and 22%, ergo no math calculation is required by the customer. This business is very accessible by MTA NYC Transit buses Q52 SBS, Q53 SBS, Q22, Q41 and A train at Rockaway Boulevard via Cross Bay Boulevard near the Belt Parkway in Ozone Park, Queens, New York City.
