It had been a while since I visited Jade, so Restaurant Week felt like the perfect time to go back. The decor is beautiful, with the large Buddha in the center surrounded by fish. It definitely adds to the atmosphere. I went with the 4-course menu and started with the tamarind mockarita, which was so refreshing. For my appetizer, I had the rock shrimp tempura, followed by the drunken noodles for my main. The noodles had a nice kick to them without being too spicy for me. I ended with the fried banana ice cream, which was the perfect ending to a great meal. The staff was friendly overall, although someone who wasn't our waiter kept checking in pretty frequently, which made us feel a little rushed. For a Tuesday night, there was a good amount of diners. I love the decor & the food but the service I don't know what the issue is. I started off with one waitress & didn't come back for sooooooo long that I had to ask another person to help us. She ended up helping us the rest of the time. The other person was there & eventually came back to say that she was tied up on the other side which is no excuse to me. Met a friend who is from upstate but has a place here for lunch. One of my favorite spots in FH due to the space & especially the koi pond. The fish are so beautiful and peaceful. It did get busier since we arrived right at noon. Thankfully we didn't have reservations but they had a spot for us since restaurant was still empty. We both got lunch specials. We both got miso soup. I got the vegetable dumplings (trying to eat healthier) with cauliflower and carrots and I was impressed! So flavorful and I felt better eating it. I then got the house special roll which was fresh & yummy. Definitely enjoyed the space and the waiter managed to get a smile from him. My friend is vegan so he tried to accommodate her. The place looked very elegant so I decided to try for their happy hour which is very nice from 12 to 7 I believe and when we got to the area, very quiet very residential area no parking at all cause they have like permanent parking for the residence around the area, but finally found one when in the place the host was very pleasant the place I thought it was bigger than it looked, but it was a nice size. That was also packed but they set up a table for the three of us in the quieter hall to the side which was perfect for socializing without screaming. Our server was friendly and informative. The food also happens to be one of my favorite cuisines: Asian Fusion is a mix of Indian and Chinese/Japanese flavors. I ordered the 4 course lunch and started with the hot & sour soup which was delicious. I paid a little extra (I think only $1/$2) for the tandoori chicken as my entree and did not regret it one bit. The HH menu is extensive with a wide variety of food: sushi rolls, tacos, wings with an Asian twist. There's something for everyone. The wings were tasty but kinda small. Just 3 wings on the plate. Their choices on the happy hour menu is perfect it's really worth it: we had the passionfruit margaritas, which were so good! Came here on Mother's Day and it was so chaotic. With reservations some guest still had to wait 1 hr. I had reservations and arrived 30 minutes before. Waited online and was seated. The back of the restaurant was empty so unsure why guest weren't being seated (maybe not enough staff). For entree, I think I was turned off by the service so I only got drinks and edamame. The edamame took forever to come out because the waitress forgot it? It wasn't as tasty as I hope and a bit dried out. Drinks were good in my opinion as they were strong. I've been here in person and ordered takeout a couple of times. I think the food is mostly good, but is a little too inconsistent for me. My absolute favorite dish here is the crispy lotus, but when I ordered takeout on a very busy day, the dish was completely different. Lunch on a Monday afternoon before my medical appointment nearby in Forest Hills, Queens, NYC summons Asian cuisine. Upon entering at 1:29 pm I was informed "the kitchen is not open yet and right now we're only serving drinks and sushi." If the kitchen staff has not arrived to work, why open the restaurant early? I sat waited, waited and waited exactly as "Waiting for Godot," a play by Samuel Beckett to be provided menu and cold water as God's intervention as a woman dining alone again. The menus are hot electronic tablets in leather case. Yes, cold water is provided. Customer service did check-in during my meal consumption. Then I had to wait again when requesting change for singles and fives to break from a $20.00 bill. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 25% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. Customer service was fairly mediocre and the food is also mediocre for my dinning-in experience. Therefore, I paid $33.00 in cash for my $28.31 claim check/ restaurant bill. The decor is very lavish with a water fountain in the middle of the restaurant. There are large Thai Buddha statues, a wall of words of Asian cuisine/ Thai culture. Takeout menus are available, but for order pick-up for phone order. Business cards are available for grabs which is printed in gold foil stamping on 130 lb. card stock. I have always been enamored for paper and printing. Virgin Pina Colada $10.00 I was lured just like 'Will you walk into my parlour?' said the Spider to the Fly in "The Spider and the Fly" poem by Mary Howitt for this entrée and have buyer's remorse. This business surely do not have a blender as they use ice to concoct this frozen drink. Jade Eatery And Lounge advertised "full bar" when it does not have the resources of a blender to be an actual full scale bar. I actually taste the pineapple and coconut juices. I had better virgin pina coladas elsewhere where the ice was crushed. Thai Drunken noodles $16.00 Flat noodles, bell pepper, onion, scallion and basil with a spicy symbol for Scoville heat scale. I sorrowfully have buyer's remorse for ordering this entrée as it was one gargantuan mound of heavily greasy fried flat noodles pile. Jade Eatery did not concoct this traditional Thai entree to rank high on the Scoville heat scale. I was unable to finish this entrée due to the heavily grease, cholesterol and high saturated fat content intake and made me feel very bloated. Following my medical appointment, I visited the gym to expel by exercise to burn this unwanted high saturated fat content. read more

I also ordered the Rock shrimp which was also good, the Vegetables samosa, and the Spicy yellowtail; all were good. For entree I ordered the Lamp chops which came with rice and a cilantro and mint sauce for dipping. The lambs chops were good. For drinks I had the Blue Zentini and the Passionberry Margarita. The drinks were good but not really strong. My babe had the rum punch which John suggested and it was Rum punching. I would def reccomend this place for happy hour, lunch, and dinner. However, this visit was disappointing. We sat down and were then asked to move because of something involving the manager. I didn't mind that part. But there was a misunderstanding with my appetizer order, and the waiter seemed bothered by it. I even told her it wasn't a big deal because we just wanted to enjoy our day, but the mood had already shifted, and it was hard to come back from that. On top of that, the front door kept being opened and left open, and there was no consideration for the people seated near it on such a cold day. Overall, I didn't leave with a good experience this time. The waitress who took my entrée order was nice, so I still left a 20% tip, but I walked out with a bad taste in my mouth. Speaking as someone who works in the hospitality industry, this visit really missed the mark.
