    Sneaky link drink
    Jennifer O.

We went for a birthday. We ordered mostly appetizers. We ordered lobster Mac & cheese which was really good. The wagyu sliders were really tasty (we love wagyu), the sweet chili wings were really good, the grilled octopus was good I liked it. And we also had the filet egg rolls that had a good amount of meat inside. The sneaky link was good a bit strong for me I'm still not a real drinker like that ℓoℓ. The service was good our waiter Alex was cool. And the ambiance is nice. I loved the vibes.

Came here for New Year's Eve dinner back in Dec. & i've honestly been thinking about the branzino here SINCE. The inside is fairly small and when we we came we were told there would be a time limit for the table. No problem for us since we didn't plan on spending too much time here. We got the lobster roll and the grilled octopus to start. The octopus was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. For my entree I got the whole branzino and while i'm normally not a whole fish girlie -- THIS FISH??? Top tier. The branzino was honestly packed with SO much flavor. This was the first time that I think I finished a whole fish. Id be back for the branzino dish alone. One thing to note is because this place is a "steakhouse" the entrees don't come with any sides so you'll need to order those separate.

This was a back up spot we chose. I have to say it was very pretty inside. We loved how the restaurant was dark and the mood was set. It was cute and very romantic. We had a great time. The food was delicious I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. I tried my boyfriend's steak and it had a decent amount of fat on it which I don't care for but it was still flavorful. We also had the lobster Mac and cheese it was really good and cheesy to wasn't as many lobster pieces as I would like but still Good though. Our waiter was very good he was attentive. I would definitely come back again I know good food when I see it.

Went on a Monday in March 2025. The restaurant is small but they set a cute ambiance. The service was okay but it was only 2 parties in the restaurant, so it could've been better. We were offered a free lobster tail, which was just okay. The ribeye was nothing to write home about. The spicy penne a la vodka, however, was 10/10. My bf and I still talk about it to this day!

Lets go to Astoria and grab brunch. Sure! looked up couple spots and decided on Vida. The décor and vibe looked good and menu seemed perfect. Made a reservation for 1 got there at 1250 and there was no staff in sight. Waited for 10 minutes before asking a random person who seemed like the DJ if we could go sit down. He stated that a hostess would be right with us, another five minutes someone finally sat us. When the waiter arrived at our table we were told at least 3 of the brunch items were not available. Brunch just started how sway! That was a turn off especially for those at my table who do not eat meat. We asked for water and was told there is none on tap only for purchase ($10). (Red Flag) and the restaurant was cold. Since we already placed a deposit for brunch we decided to stay and ride it out. For the first course we tried the filet crostini (this came out cold and the bread was not tasted), the Avocado toast with a fried egg (the egg was sunny side up not fried as described) and the stuffed French toast with banana foster (my bananas were just regular sliced, nothing like how banana foster is normally). second course we has the steak and eggs (This was simple uncomplicated but did not come with the chimi sauce as described), the chicken and waffles were ok and the lobster benny was nothing to rave about (this dish should of came with a salad or something). for dessert he only item they had were the churros. Lastly, we went to pay the bill and there was a service charge and gratuity already placed for a table of 3! how sway! w asked why he service charge they sated it was to use our card. Sir you didn't even ask if we were paying with card or cash. I am told the night vibe and menu is much better but its not on the top of my list to find out.

The ambiance was nice upon entry. The hostess greeted us and walked us to our table. The table location was not the best but hey it is what it is. We sat at the first table from the kitchen so a lot of foot traffic while trying to eat. Our waiter Brian was on point but seemed like he was holding down the floor with a number of tables and also assuring that the birthday celebrations were set up and presented well to all of the Birthday tables. The drink delivery time was delayed which was not the best, but the food was good. The shrimp was very flavorful, the lobster was good but I felt that it was not cooked enough as I saw red as I cut closer into it. The salmon Rasta pasta was good but there was too much cheese on the top. I had to pull back the cheese on the top to actually enjoy the pasta. I would say this is a great spot to celebrate your birthday as they do make you feel special to celebrate there. I would say give them a try if you are in the queens area!

The food was good, the experience left me a little underwhelmed. I ordered a steak, which was decent, but it wasn't cooked how I asked. It wasn't a huge deal, but when you're paying for a steak, you kind of expect it to be just right. What also threw me off was that the steak didn't come with any sides. You have to order those separately, which made the meal feel incomplete. On top of that, they add a 6% fee to your bill(credit card and group fee). It's mentioned on the menu, but it still caught me by surprise. With the tip and the fee combined, I ended up paying an extra 26%, which made the bill higher than I expected. Waiter was cool tho.

Just Ehhhhhh. Very mid. Ambiance: Very trendy looking inside. I have to say I expected a more elevated experience but this was still a vibe. Music is great but they changed the music everytime there was a birthday. It seemed like every table around us was celebrating birthdays. Lots of large groups. Staff : Everyone was so kind and personable. Especially our server and the hostess. Food: We did a few apps and drinks. Food was flavorful but Everything was kind of cold when it came out. Our favorite was the tostones appetizer. Drinks: I had the lychee martini which was very sweet. I opted for Tito's instead of house vodka. I had two they weren't very strong. Overall. I would probably return on another day maybe during the week and do an entree for measure. Didn't hate the place didn't love it though. Also not a great first date spot on a Saturday night if you're looking for that type of vibe.

The Ambiance is intriguing and definitely "insta worthy". The food was also "insta worthy" and pretty delicious. I went during their opening hours. I got premium service, mostly because I was the only guest but they made me feel comfortable and welcomed. If you want to take pictures for social media and want good food as well, I'd recommend this place. Go when they first open if you want an exclusive vibe. Ps: Parking is tricky!

Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Drinks: 4/5 The food and drinks were really good I can't even lie. I came here for my friend's birthday. The wagyu sliders were delicious, the meat was juicy and tender and the sauce was tasty. The Parmesan crusted chicken was great but my 3rd piece was inedible due to it being dried out and over fried. It also could've came with a little bit more mashed potatoes or asparagus to help balance out all that cream sauce. The avatar drink was good and strong as well. The tomahawk steak experience was nice but my friend said it was really really fatty.

The second time, we had to deal with stupid bouncers or security guards before being let into their bar/pub. That's a huge turnoff for me, and it's only worth it for strip clubs and concerts. Sweet Afton is a hip Irish-style pub known for its craft cocktails, extensive beer selection, and upscale pub fare. It has a cozy interior with exposed brick and a sought-after outdoor garden area that is enclosed in the winter.  A few of their menu items include "Astoria's best burger" (using Pat LaFrieda beef), the Dirty Pickle Martini (featuring McClure's pickle juice), and beer-battered fried pickles. I learned that they have a sister pub called the Bonnie in Ditmars, which I have been to and had a great time. Last Saturday I came back for a third time. I was surprised at how things had changed; much more laid-back, with good customer service, good vibes, and one of the most delicious bar burgers I have ever eaten, with a side salad, in any pub or establishment in Queens. Furthermore, Sweet Afron had some nice alternatives to bear and larger, and I selected a cider instead. First, I was offered a sip, and then, upon my approval, a full glass of cider. In conclusion, I do plan to return!
