Food was very good. We had only apps but they were all good. Nice atmosphere, music was a little loud but not terrible. Service could've been a little more attentive, but they weren't bad by any means. Would definitely return.

My daughter and I decided to have lunch at this establishment. From the outside of this place it has a cute vibe... Once inside the ambiance was cute and the hostess sat us down immediately. The menu was short and to the point ... which we both like and wasn't difficult to choose what we wanted to eat. On the menu the pizza selection had lots of different specialties which was new to us ... We ordered what we know and the Margarita pie was "DELICIOUS " it did not disappoint. When we go again we will have another pie on the menu with its unique flavors... The server was always asking us if we needed anything else and we found that delightful.... The bartenders were polite . Overall we had a great time and great food.. Two thumbs us

I loved Mama's meatballs--so flavorful and delicious! The place has a nice, cozy, and artistic atmosphere. I'm really happy to have found such a great restaurant in Bay Ridge. Would definitely come back again.

Tucked into the corner of a beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood, Brooklyn Firefly feels like it's been part of the block forever, in all the right ways. I came in with six buddies for the first time and was immediately struck by the vibe, welcoming, stylish, and full of soul. The pizza? Top-tier. Crust, toppings, balance, all dialed in. The meatballs? Just right, classic, comforting, and full of flavor. Drinks were solid, and while there wasn't live music that night, I hear they host it on select evenings. It's the kind of place that feels both familiar and special. Brooklyn Firefly isn't just a meal, it's a reminder of what a neighborhood spot should be.

The Firefly has quickly become our new favorite place! We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoy this bar--it's truly the best. We now go out of our way not! to make reservations so we can sit at the bar, which is the coziest and most beautiful space, reminiscent of something you'd see on TV. One thing that stood out is a sign stating they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. While this is understandable, it does feel a bit unwelcoming. However, the atmosphere is warm, and the bartender is incredibly nice, which contributes significantly to our comfort and enjoyment. We sat at the tables and the waiter got a lot of things wrong last time so we're just gonna stick to the bar because the bartender is great. The pizzas are fantastic; we love the variety they offer, and the two different sizes make it very reasonable. The kick in the a** and the white pizza with fig are the best! The appetizers are also good . They do a special fire fries which is similar to smashed potato, the giant meatball which isnt really worth the money but its still yummy, the rice balls are much better than average and the arugula salad has a lot of taste with a not too sweet dressing and gorgonzola. I did notice I was charged for a side of aioli that I didn't receive, but that didn't dampen our experience. We love the drinks and the beers.! Overall, we had a blast and are looking forward to returning every week. We've already been three times and are headed back next week!

Love the decor and vibe of this place. I was here in the past when it was Yellow Hook Grill. The waiter was attentive and kind. The pizza pies and calzone were delicious! Their dough was so good and their crust had the perfect crisp. I did not like their Brooklyn egg cream drink so they took it off the bill. It was basically just syrup. Other than that, everything was really good and would love to return.

Despite my having been here a few times already I've never gotten around to sitting down and composing my thoughts about The Brooklyn Firefly so I'm going to use a recent visit to resolve that. For many of the Bay Ridge lifers, this restaurant occupies the space that was formerly the home of the famed Lento's pizza. This space was known and loved for its thin-crust pizza. At the time, this was not a common thing but now you can get it in a lot of places. Lucky you. Thinking back to my time before this latest visit, I recall having half of a wonderful cheese pizza with another friend and a few cold beers. They have a full bar, but I am not really the biggest spirits person so a Budweiser or Coors Lite suits me fine unless I am on one of my not drinking months. That pizza was super tasty and didn't last long since we were both quite hungry. It's easy to eat four slices of this since its not as thick as most pizzas. Fast forward to this past Saturday I was out walking with a friend and we met up with others who were heading there for some cocktails and decided to join them to catch up. We decided to sit at the bar area in the front. Spatially speaking there is a lengthy outdoor dining area and several tables in the rear of the restaurant. They raved about the cocktails but I was not drinking this time around. I think one of them was called The Gelston and my friend had a Pumpkin beer. Eats were decided upon so we ordered up some Rice Balls (there are three to an order) and a pizza with half-spinach and half sausage. Good stuff for sure. There is a free WiFi signal so one can do their check-ins and foodie captures and shares across their networks. The prices are very reasonable and the staff quite friendly. I'll be coming back sometime in the future for sure.

Strolling through Bay Ridge, you have your pick of food and drink spots representing any culture you can think of. That being said, there is something very comforting about the corner neighborhood pizza joint. Brooklyn Firefly takes you back to those times, but with alcohol, live music, and a backyard. I ordered the Margarita Italiana, which had no real flavor connection to a margarita, but was super refreshing nonetheless. Imagine a spiked punch with a hint of citrus - perfect summer drink. My friend scarfed down one of Mama's Meatballs, which was no small feat. Scanning the patio area I noticed pizza after pizza arriving to peoples' tables. It was such an eye tease given that my belly was full from having had dinner elsewhere. Is it ironic that I saw my first firefly of the summer in their backyard? I'm taking it as a sign to go back for slices and live music.

A cool Brooklyn spot this a subtle mix of Hip Hop and pizza. There is a bar that greets you when you walk in. Towards the back is a cool dining area. There is outdoor seating as well. You can take in the sights and sounds of BK while enjoying a pie There are vegan options. Today I had a vegan calzone. It was a good size and filling

My boyfriend and I have been here a couple of times. We love the meatball here. The rest of the food is just fine. Some pizzas are good like the one with a nice of meats. The drinks are solid.

I saw Miki Yamanaka randomly for the 1st time. But apparently i missed writing a review. Maybe because there are many glowing reviews already. But may I put my 5 star review on the pile. This time we caught the 2pm Sunday open jam. We were smartly near the front of the line so we got my favorite spot, right on the bar rail near the stage. The drinks were good and strong, the service was quick and succinct. The jam was incredible. I didn't know all the guys but the guy on drums is a legend named muppet. He held back on his solos on the first 2 songs. On the third, when the baton was passed to him, he ripped off an impressive solo that would be amazing for anyone, and he is 93. Just standing in line we got to talk to a musician, who had just played at another location, but told us the people playing there that day were amazing, including the 91-year-old drummer "Muppet". We went during the day so no cover charge, but think they do at later hours. We got some spots at the bar, knowing we would not be able to stay long. From any seat you are able to enjoy the whole atmosphere and set. They had one server and one bartender, and I honestly thought at first they would be scrambling with all the drink orders but the way they worked, quickly and still being personable with each guest was impressive. The band playing was great, we stayed a bit more than we should have because of how good they were. Very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music. The only reason I took one star off is the restroom situation. I went down hoping I could use the facilities but the mold smell and other strong smell made me sick and I had to run out. Just make sure you go before you are inside or hold it. Apart from that, very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music.

I tried three different slices, Margarita, regular and Sicilian, and they were pretty much the same. This is not to say I was disappointed, but I rode half an hour out of my way, because I just happened to be in that neighborhood the day before and unfortunately had had two slices already at two other places nearby so was not hungry. The looks continued in terms of the handsomeness of the place, very much trying to catch an old fashioned place but high end, and I liked the calmness of the neighborhood, that you are looking at houses and not stores, but what I personally didn't like was the playing of modern music, didn't match how the place looked at all. Overall I'd recommend, you can comfortably have a larger group here, no one could possibly complain about the pizza, but in the back of one's mind it'll be like "gosh I noticed this knockout but I had a better time with the dressed down sister, she could hold a conversation"- I missed the sloppy pizza that somehow tasted better.

His parents, John and Maria Cicero, founded the Original John's Deli in Brooklyn's Gravesend neighborhood in 1968. The Cicero Family created what has become known as the "best hero in Brooklyn!" Although location on the corner of 86th Street and Stillwell Avenue still stands, it is no longer owned by the Cicero Family. The family does own and operate two newer locations, dubbed "John's Deli Hero King" in Brooklyn's Dyker Heights neighborhood as well as Staten Island. After many years of working in the delis, the Cicero's son Robert began taking up the art of crafting exceptional pizza. When a location opened up down the street from John's Deli's Dyker Heights location, Robert seized the opportunity to turn it into his own artisanal pizzeria. I recently visited Dyker Pizza Company for lunch while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn breweries and pizzerias and this was my first stop of the day. I arrived just as they opened for the day. I told the employee that I'm from New Haven and asked if they pronounced 'apizza' the same way that we do in the Elm City: [ah-BEETS]. He confirmed that they did. It seems that from the late 19th century until around the 1950s or so, most Italian-Americans referred to pizza as "apizza" whether it was New Haven-style pizza or not. The employee explained to me that the pizza at Dyker Pizza Company is a hybrid between New Haven-style and the artisanal sourdough style that is becoming more common in NYC. Customers can order by-the-slice or whole pies. I was pretty hungry, and after looking over the menu I decided to order the "Pesto and Prosciutto" (ricotta cream, shredded mozzarella, basil pesto, prosciutto). The cheese was creamy, the pesto tasted fresh, and the crust had equal parts char and chew. This was really good pizza and I must give Dyker Pizza Company my seal of approval!
