Yesterday we experienced the awful service a lot of the other reviews mention. When we walked in, we were not greeted and were unsure whether or not you seat yourselves or wait to be seated. We waited a few moments before deciding to sit at the bar. The brunette working the bar had zero knowledge about the beers. Literally could not even tell us which beers were light beers. She was curt and bothered by us. We ordered beers and food anyway. She was so unpleasant we were kind of afraid to even ask for another beer when our first ones were gone. But we did anyway. She was also short and rude with the other staff when they came to pick up drink orders. This was around 4 pm yesterday. It was not busy but she treated every order like it was ruining her entire life. And she was also incredibly slow for someone who seemed so overwhelmed. We wont be back!! read more

I thought this was a decently nice taproom. We seated ourselves outside at ~6pm on a Sunday and were helped pretty quickly by their friendly staff. They even offered samples of what they had before we ordered, which I appreciated a lot. I got an orange blossom and honey saison and my roommates got some IPAs, and we were all happy with our drinks. Mine was flowery and sweet, something I'd never tried before, but enjoyed. I also ordered the buffalo roasted cauliflower to go with it, which was pretty good. Nothing out of this world flavor-wise, and maybe not as charred as I would've expected, but it was perfectly cooked and buttery and zesty enough for me. My gf and I stopped by here last night because there was no wait compared to other establishments around. As you enter you seat yourself. There is a big bar area and many tables indoors and outdoors. It was pretty busy so it took a while to get service. So be patient. For drinks we had the tap out margarita. For food We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and the pub burger. My gf and I split the two items and the chicken sandwich is by far my favorite! The fries were okay but tasted like they weren't cooked all the way. I will go back for the chicken sandwich! All in all the atmosphere was great and the food was good. Of course there are going to be wait times because as many of you know there is a shortage in servers. read more

This restaurant sucks. I sat in the patio for 20 minutes with not a single person coming outside. They saw me walk in & told me to seat myself. I sat myself. I watched the servers eat quesadillas, play with their hair, and make eye contact with me through the window. Not a single person came outside. Worst service. Took forever to get a simple 805 beer. glass was wet not frozen. I honestly cringe when that happens. what that means is, they are not stocked up on fresh chilled glasses and are wetting them to cool down. They are just turning over so fast. Maybe they need to stick more glasses. it's a bit of younger crowd. Server was overzealous in asking if we were ok even AFTER we asked for the check. it was at the point were it was interrupting us in conversation too many times. there is a fine line. I'll be back though it won't be my first thought of the day... I would like to try a meal. 50 Taps!! That is the good part along with warehouse vibe. Went and ate here for dinner with my family the food was great it was hot and tasted delicious. The service was okay for dinner rush on a Saturday but was very disappointed to find out they had no high chairs. I have a 2 year old who will not sit still on a regular chair. Someone in our group had to drive back home to pick up our high chair from home. Luckily we live close by otherwise we would have left and not eaten there. While there I saw 4 other families with small children struggle to contain their children on tall chairs or in a booth. Great food but not a child friendly restaurant. read more

We decided to have a little holiday team meeting lunch here. Unfortunately we came during lunch hour and there was only one waitress and one bartender. We felt bad for the waitress who was hustling. We ordered drinks at 1210 and food at 1220. Food showed up around 1250 and drinks about 5 minutes later. Waitress continued to apologize about the long wait which we understood... like I said she was hustling it wasn't her fault. Unfortunately by the time we got our food everything was cold. Food was decent, I'm sure much better if it was fresh and hot. The lunch rush had almost every table taken and the ambiance was still light enough we could still hear each other. Save your time and money! Do not go here unless you want to wait extendedly for everything while the staff chats with each other. We had to get our own silverware, plates and napkins. The beer sample I was given was 2 oz of beer foam only. My entree was tossed at me. Eventually they brought my husbands shrimp in a martini tin but still no silverware plates or napkins. I think my 5 star review of this place was way to premature. I was excited this opened up in Modesto, as the one in Rocklin is one of my favorite restaurants. The food here is subpar and service is way off. Not that they aren't friendly, but the operations create for some weird situations. Not giving utensils, only giving 1 menu to a party of 2, charging for ranch and cowboy sauce; it's the little things that add up. My last visit was the final straw. Came in for an early dinner on Saturday around 445pm. The owner/manager told us to take a seat anywhere. Place was busy for that time of the day, but not overly busy. My wife and I found a table, and just sat there for 10 -15 minutes. Waitresses' walked right by us continuously , and we were not even acknowledged. We just got up and left, utterly frustrated. Luckily Redwood opened up at 5pm and we had a great dinner. Been here 5 times since they opened, and no reason to go back. read more

Not empresses with the service. Will see how long it takes for food to be served. Final, was not empress AT ALL. In & Out has better burgers and amount of food much better. The first time I ordered the tater tots with the boom boom sauce and wow TASTY. Today I got the sirloin steak nachos mostly with the intention of testing their queso. And YES! SO. GOOD. My best friend lived in Texas for 6 years and whenever I see queso on a menu, in Cali, I have to try it only to be disappointed. Not here! Seriously. Get the queso!
