1st time into Javi's ! Lots of great drink options from their bar . We noticed a 55 and over menu . We decided to try the 2 items w/ rice and beans . We both choose A Crunchy Taco and and cheese enchilada. Very good and spicy salsa :) we also ordered a Mojito and a Bloody Mary . Nice meal for a good price . Service was attentive, nice open windows all around .

Chipotle Chiclen and Pollo en Crema

Great food and service! We came here on a recommendation of a local from the MET Railroad. I got the Chipotle chicken. Great spice! I normally shy away from yellow cheese dip, but this one is great! Don't let the color fool you. My partner got the Apollo en Crema and loved it as well. Fresh tortillas!

    My dish very mediocre

We were in town and my stepson and gf recommended we come here. The service was good and there was plenty of parking but the restaurant was pretty busy. We were here over the Christmas holiday. I was surprised how busy they were considering the mediocre food. The chips did not taste fresh and the red salsa was ok. I had their special but can't remember the name, it came with a very thinly cut piece of steak very disappointing. My husband had the fajitas and they did come out sizzling, he liked the flavor. We both had a bloody marys and they seemed watered down. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of room to sit. You choose where you want to sit. I wanted to like this place. Our server was very nice but won't be coming back.

    Burrito supreme with carnitas

We came across Javi's on our way back to the East Bay and were impressed by the quality service, food and attentiveness of the staff (thank you Marina!). The restaurant is self- seating only, so we were able to select a nice booth location by the window. We were given chips, salsa, coleslaw and refried beans and cheese to start as we looked over our menus. I had the enchilada supreme (note, verde sauce is lime forward) with cheese only, my fiance ordered a burrito supreme with carnitas (came with a healthy portion of carnitas), my brother ordered a combination burrito and roja enchilada platter, and my mom was able to customize her a la carte order with a veggie burrito and guac (she asked for fajita veggies in the burrrito which wasn't originally on the menu). We also enjoyed a nice cerveza with the meal, along with a mocktail for my mom and an imported Coca Cola for my brother. Would highly recommend for a nice, filling meal in Modesto!

I went to Javi's for my friend Calvin. It was his birthday and I ordered a bean rice and cheese burrito with fries. The burrito was warm crispy and really delicious and the fries were good and I dipped them in ketchup. Then I got the fried ice cream but Calvin got it for free cause of his birthday we both liked it. I really recommend Javi's and it's the best Mexican place in Modesto

Describe goated this place is the best. workers are nice they give you desserts on your birthday for free. Their bean and cheese burritos hit hard I use the rice and beans on the side to make a taco sometimes.

We went to another restaurant but the wait was about 30-40. My mom knew about this place so I called ahead and was told there was no wait. When we arrived, we were seated right away. We were given salsa and chips while we waited. The waitress was friendly and it was overall really good service. Our food came quick and it was hot but it was so good! Prices are decent. So much food on the menu that you'll have to go again!

Normally love the food here however, when the customer service sucks and it only takes on employee to have that effect. When one keeps calling on a Friday and no one picks up the phone to take a phone order( really how long does it take to place a phone order 2 minutes max) then when you come in, to place your order. You get a waitress with an attitude who says because we're so busy we're not taking orders or picking up the phone. That's some crappy customer service. When I looked around, your staff wasn't too busy as they were sweeping the floors in your bartender's eating her ice cream behind the bar you bar seating had 5 people. The customer service would be to pick up the phone and answer the phone to your customers are calling. I'm sure your call in orders are probably a money generator. Not very good service your staff needs to take some customer service etiquette classes, t Some of your staff was even sitting around lollygagging. Want photos you can message me I'll be happy to send them to you. Better yet I'll attach your rude waitress. I will tell you Mario was really nice when I was leaving. I brought it to his attention. Not sure if he's a manager, but maybe you ought to have him teach your customer service etiquette

It was our first time trying this place and I must say the service was above excellent! We will be back

The food was yummy. I saw a fish and it had a sucky mouth, so that was sick. The service was quick and they were always refilling my root beer before I could even ask. Overall very nice place and would recommend.

Every dish has been thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. There hasn't been a single miss. Service has been friendly and attentive on all four visits, and when we've gone on Wednesdays, there hasn't been a wait. It's not chaotic karaoke. It's not ego-driven. It's a room where singers are respected, the sound is dialed in, and the energy rises and falls naturally throughout the night. What I appreciate most is how they run the floor. Rotation stays fair. The mic levels are balanced. Adjustments are made when needed. They're paying attention -- and that matters when you care about your performance. I've watched the room swell to 60+ and ease down to a tight circle near closing, and both versions feel good. Big crowd? Electric. Smaller crowd? Intimate and locked in. That's leadership from the booth. And here's the exciting part: Starting Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 8PM, they're opening another karaoke night during the week. That tells you everything. They're not coasting. They're building. Opening a Tuesday gives local singers another space to sharpen their craft, support a venue that supports them, and bring life into a traditionally slower night. That's good for the performers and good for downtown. Looking at the exterior, we could only guess what was coming. Walking in just after opening gave us opportunity to marvel over the beautifully appointed interior without bothering yet to arrive lunch customers. After perusing the menu, which we had somewhat studied pre decision to dine here, our waiter Matteo filled in item by item our understanding of the many menu options. With his help and suggestions we four decided to share two "starters" - the whipped feta - half classic and half smoky. Both were delicious! We chose the 4 piece Bruschetta with a suggested cheese added. It too rang the delicious bell. We picked paninis for our main course: Flank steak, French dip and Prosciutto & Fig Jam. Each would be served with a side salad - either Spinach or Spring. We all chose Spinach. The sandwiches were full of the components as described. My wife's Prosciutto & Fig Jam had prosciutto from end to end countering a review to the contrary I had read. The other paninis were likewise filled. The Spinach side salads were loaded with walnuts and cranberries. The amount of feta was adequate. the total amount of salad was more than I expected. My wife ordered a dessert to go, and just reported to me that was superb. We had to forgo any wine with lunch as we had miles to drive home afterward. But I await the day we can spend the night in town and enjoy some selections of their impressive wine stock and not have to drive home. A Friday evening comes to mind. It must happen so we can try out more items of their well chosen fare. A couple of the pokes look scrumptious and a few more of the paninis await my gastric juices. We were pleasantly surprised by Damon bringing us a complimentary Chocolate Panini served with house made whipped zcream (who even serves that these days?) He said that we HAD to try his #1 selling item from the whole menu before we left. We tasted, and learned why it had reached that status. Good in appearance. Perfect in creation, Superb in taste. Kudos by the bucketful to Damon, Matteo, and the rest of the staff who helped this Birthday Bash be warm & fuzzy and highly enjoyed. If you haven't yet. I suggest you put Camp 4 on your high priority list and enjoy the experience as I'm sure you will. We sure did!
