End of meal

I have eaten at El Jardin on several occasions, over the past few years this place has fallen out of my favor. Last night has taken this establishment off of my list of places to visit. I brought may family and friends here last night for a special occasion and was sooooo disappointed with the entire experience. Staff was slow and infrequent. The food was late and cold. It was overall a poor experience on what I was hoping would be a nice night out for my wife's birthday. It is the last time I visit this restaurant. I hate leaving bad reviews but El Jardin, you've earned it.

Pollo con Crema Special- asked for it spicy (they added jalapeños)

Went on a Tuesday around 5:30. There were only 2 other tables with patrons at the time. We ordered our food and drinks and they forgot to bring my husband's drink out. The food is always delicious so I guess it makes up for the slow service.

We had a good dinner there recently and the server, Monica, was very good. If only the service here wasn't so sketchy. Food is always on point.

Food was amazing! They never disappoint thank you so much for your amazing service and amazing food! We ordered the enchilada supreme and burrito supreme

The food is always great. I find myself craving the rice and beans often. Their tortillas are good and they cook their meat perfectly every time. The service however? Horrible. It's always a terrible experience. They're slow, inattentive, uninformed, and just seem genuinely displeased to have to interact with customers. I understand being busy, but they very rarely are? And they always seem to have a million people working, but they kind of just linger by the host station talking amongst themselves. Some of the girls are so nice and amazing waitresses, but if you don't have the pleasure of being served by one of them then you end up with some of the most unpleasant people in the world. They never check in on you, they don't refill drinks or chips, and they're kind of very whatever. Like I said though, food is amazing every time and if you don't mind sitting and being ignored for thirty minutes then this is the place for you. Reservations, no matter the size, are almost impossible to make, and it's not because they're ever booked. The staffs attitude is losing them so much money, and it's such a shame because their outdoor seating is adorable!!!

Cheese enchilada and tamale combo
Theresa M.

We ordered take out. I got a tamale and cheese enchilada combo. It was the worst enchilada and tamale I've ever eaten. (I literally said that out loud as I tried to eat it.) The red sauce tasted like bad red pasta sauce, not enchilada sauce. I took 2 bites of each and had to throw the rest away, $20 in the garbage can. The rice is dry and the beans do not have good flavor.

El Jardin takes great care of us whenever we dine there! Steak nachos with melt-in-your-mouth asada! A gem of a restaurant in Turlock!

What a great find in Turlock! I've never been here.. but based on the handy dandy reviews on…read moreYelp... well, gave it a try. We were greeted immediately. cute inside with a full bar. a few beer handles too! even an IPA was flowing. it was packed. We were immediately served the warmest crispiest nice & salty chips! And the salsa... loved the salsa! I ordered the 1 item with beans and rice. $15.50. Cheese enchilada w/red sauce. The green sauce has pork in it:( our server was friendly and knowledgeable about menu. my friend ordered the carne asada tacos. I enjoyed my dinner. I would not rate the red sauce as my favorite. But it was good. I will definitely go back. also they have about 4 big screen TVs playing. Plenty of parking in back. I can't wait for warmer days as they have a cute little patio in front.

If disappointment had a flavor, it would be the fajitas at El Charro…read more I ordered fajitas expecting that classic sizzling, seasoned, mouthwatering experience. What I got instead was what I can only describe as lightly warmed, paper-thin sadness. The meat was dry, completely unseasoned, and so thin I'm pretty sure it qualified as deli meat. I've had better flavor from airport food... and that's saying something. No sizzle, no aroma, no personality. Just a plate that looked like it gave up halfway through cooking. Service? Let's just say it matched the food--uninspired and forgettable. The only positive is that this meal actually helped my diet because after a few bites I had zero desire to keep eating. So technically... thanks for that? Would I come back? Only if I needed a reminder of what fajitas are not supposed to be. 0/10 for flavor 10/10 for reinforcing my self-control

Came here to celebrate a graduate - on of course, graduation weekend. Considering how busy it was,…read morethe wait wasn't too bad. We had a party of 10+. Chips and dips were given upon being seated, drink orders taken, and were received fairly quickly. The chips themselves were delicious & so were the bean dips and salsa. For my entree, I ordered probably the most bland-sounding thing I have ever ordered. I ordered Dos Huevo's w/ Carne Asada. My plate was great! Carne asada cooked & flavored well & the eggs were also perfect. The rice it came with was decent, nothing crazy. I will say, oddly enough, on that warm day, I got a hot coffee to drink. The coffee was really good! I pretty much inhaled it, twice! Overall the place is nice, attentive, and good food!

We ordered a michelada and a Cadillac margarita--both were bad. The michelada tasted watered down, and the Cadillac was just plain nasty. My fiancé ordered the chile verde and asked me to try it. I literally had to spit it out into a napkin. The flavor was that bad. We came with three other friends, and all of us agreed we would never return. For a Mexican restaurant, especially a chain, you'd expect flavorful, well-made food--but that was not the case at all. Very disappointed with this location in Turlock. Zero out of 10. Would not recommend.
