I visited La Morenita after a really long time to have dinner with my sister. The prices since last time I visited have really gone up a lot. We ordered cheese enchiladas and chicken fajitas this time. The service was good. The waitress checked on us. We got seated in the garden patio and it was nice there. They kept it cool. The food was okay. The fajitas were served smoking hot with side of tortillas and sour cream, pico, and guacamole only. The veggies were well grilled and overall pretty tasty. I opted to not get beans. The enchiladas were okay. I didn't like them very much last time, and still didn't like them this time, either. We ordered the churro dessert. It came served with a side of ice cream and whipped cream. It was also okay. My visit to La Morenita was better this time than the last time, but still the menu felt pricier and probably won't come back. P.S. The chips and salsa were really yummy. read more

I come here pretty often, and it's always a solid choice for Mexican food in town. The food is consistently good, the drinks are solid, and they easily have the best chips and salsa around. Service is always friendly and reliable, which keeps me coming back. My only real recommendation is to avoid sitting in the bar area if you're in a hurry. Service there tends to move a lot slower, so it can take a while to get your order in and get your food. The restaurant itself is a little run down, and the bathrooms could definitely use some attention, but the bar and outside area is decorated nicely and has a good atmosphere overall. We waited over an hour for our food, and when it finally came out there was an issue with the size of the menudo bowl that had been offered to us. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or make it right, the manager, Noah, became argumentative and tried to debate what had been said rather than listen to the customer. After waiting that long, the last thing anyone expects is to feel like they have to argue just to be heard. What made it more disappointing was the lack of willingness to fix the issue or offer a solution. We came in hoping for a good meal and left feeling frustrated and unheard. It's sad because good service could have easily turned this into a positive experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Tons of parking, very short wait time and an amazing stab. Toms if open table seating as well as booth to accommodate any size party. We thoroughly enjoyed our Special Combo which had four items for inky $19.50! My dad wanted the wedding burrito so I split it with him and my life has forever changed. I asked several times for the recipe and they wouldn't divulge. We had chicken in it but it won't matter because that's sauce is the perfect acidity from vinegar, creaminess from sour cream and spice from some sort of Chipotle sauce.....sooooooo good. This place has gone waaaay waaaay downhill. 2 chicken meals and Lupe's tacos. Over $100 and a tip added automatically of 20%. One burnt burger, shrimp cocktail ordered with no onion and then it came out with a lot of onions. There were 8 people, and they were split tabs. I get it adding on a gratuity but every single order was wrong then when putting away the leftovers there was a nice long hair in the food! Cooked into it not on the side or top. First of all, the service is top shelf. Always asking you if you need a drink refill or more chips/salsa. I've eaten here about four times and the food is good, mostly. Today I had a chile verde burrito but it was dry. The cheese on the refried beans did not melt all the way. The asada enchilada was very good. It's pricey at times it was salty and they charged a surcharge besides the tip which I did not like at all I tip well I don't need to sign up. They're telling me that they're charging me extra. I have introduced so many friends and other co workers to this place I have lost count. If you read any of my review of Mexican restaurants I always start at the same spot the chips and salsa and while the chips aren't homemade they are always fresh but the homemade salsa is so delicious!! Service here is always top notch. The staff is always great and on top of your experience. Food I have never been disappointed and the same for my last experience. I had a spicy chicken burrito covered in their green sauce. This was a flavor bomb and not for the weak. The spice was definitely up there from the jalapeño and loved every bite or what I could finish. Inside is always top notch and clean. Wow!! $70.00+ for two people! How?? No alcohol ordered. We each ordered an entrée, and we got the large bean dip, and a fried ice cream to share for dessert, one soda and one water. When did their prices sky rocket??!! We dined here not that long ago, and everything has jumped since then, by two or three dollars each. Plus, they charge extra based on a "credit card" price and claim that if you pay cash it is less, they still overcharged us on every item, even with the so called "discounted price". We started with the bean dip, without verde sauce. The beans were very runny. It tasted good, but the consistency was off, for sure. The soda ran out on the last refill. It was mostly watered down, not sweet at all. I ordered my shrimp enchiladas without sauce. In the past they have smothered it in cheese. As you can see from my photo, there is hardly any cheese on top of my tortillas, or my even the beans. I requested no onions and easy seasoning, which they did. It tasted great, the service was decent. We just cannot get over the price hikes or the upcharge for credit, when we paid cash! He had the chicken a'la parrilla. He received more cheese on his beans than I did. His chicken was pretty dry. It is very disheartening that this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, but we won't be back any time soon! read more

Javier and his staff accommodated us in their banquet room and provided such excellent service. We have lunch here at least once a week. Was very disappointed in my burrito today and my service. I ordered a buritto supreme with Carna Asada with green sauce. It was the worst burrito I have ever had. The meat was so dry and hard obviously overcooked and/or old. Since I was on my lunch I just picked the meat out. Never did my server check on us or wonder why all the meat was as picked out of the buritto. When she finally brought the bill I told her this. We are regular customers and she waits on us often. Ordered two chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The edge enchiladas were chocked full of white meat, which I liked but the red sauce was awful. It tasted bitter. Food was lukewarm upon delivery yet the servers delivered with mitts which told me it was microwaved. The service was good, servers were friendly but it would have been nice if I was offered a drink refill. Left thirsty. Ambiance was noisy with UFC fight on tv.
