Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! The vibe is clean, open, and bright, with cozy leather booths and big windows perfect for people-watching or enjoying a casual meal with friends. I ordered the enchiladas plate, and it hit the spot. The enchiladas were cheesy with just the right amount of sauce, paired with flavorful Spanish rice and creamy beans topped with melted cheese. The guacamole was fresh, and the sour cream added a nice cool balance to the plate. I also tried one of their mango margaritas with Tajín on the rim, and it was super refreshing without being overly sweet, adding a fun kick to the meal. Service was friendly, and even though it was a casual setup, the staff checked in to make sure everything was good. Prices were reasonable for the portions, and I left full and satisfied. Stylish decor, clean (restroom too) dining and it looks like it has quite a beverage selection. We didn't get drinks but my husband and I shared a shrimp quesadilla and the elote dip. Quesadilla was large, filled with goodies, and tasty- the bell peppers and cheese are the stars in this one. Elote.. something felt missing for me. It just wasn't as flavorful has I have had elsewhere. Also the chips didn't make it any better. If they were handmade chips or even just different bulk ones it would have helped a little bit. We will come back and try more of the dishes! read more

service was amazing! Ambience was nice w/all the windows. Very clean. ordered the chicken taco salad and it was enough to split. found out the dressing is homemade too! and so are all the salsa's and sauce. Tried a bit of the habanero sauce.. definitely not for baby criers. Legit hot. beer selection was great on tap and super cold. I got the Baja tacos with red snapper and veggie taco. Both were great - the red snapper was served with avocado slices and delicious sauce. The veggie taco had feta and various grilled veggies. Both items were fresh. I recommend trying them for lunch! read more

Stopped in for lunch and was so glad the family wanted to try out this Mexican food place. I know there a lot of Mexican restaurants around but this one is by far one of the best if you are looking for a healthy meal with good quality ingredients! My brother always orders burritos everywhere we go and he said it was one of the best he's ever tried. My mom and I had the soup and salad combo and it was delicious! Some places use too much salt in their tortilla soup but this was perfect! My daughter's children's meal was a big portion of everything she enjoys. If you're looking for great service and good quality Mexican food this is the place to go! For anyone on a gluten free diet, this place has a ton of options too! read more

I really enjoyed this place under the previous ownership (Altos), and I'm happy to say that under the new ownership, the food is still delicious. The in-person dining experience also has a nice presentation. However, I've noticed some disappointing changes, especially with portion sizes. The kids' plate portions are very small, and during my recent takeout visit, the tortilla was forgotten and no beverage was offered. I also ordered a burrito and asked for it to be extra grilled, but it wasn't grilled at all. Chips are no longer included automatically--you have to ask for them. Despite ordering two meals for takeout (over $30 total), only one small bag of chips was given, which two people had to split. On a previous visit, I ordered a bowl to-go, and again the portions were small and the presentation was messy. Still hoping they can find a better balance as they settle in, but for now, takeout feels like less value for the price. read more

Service is excellent Great Ambience. My first impressions of the restaurant was positive. I was a bit confused why the place was not packed out for lunch. @The Manager or Owner. Here are a few minor suggestions regarding what I ordered and left behind. 1- The chips are terrible- Like a cheap generic Tostitos or liquor store Nacho Chips. 2- the Red Chili Sauce finishes odd.. like it has soy sauce or something odd in it. The green sauce is good. 3- The beans need more flavor. 4- the Meat has a gamy after taste. Consider doing an honest study on your food with random people to provide feed back. My wife and I go to many Mexican restaurants and your missing a few flavors.. the taste is bland. This is honest feedback. Speaking For someone who is health conscious like myself.. My Dad and I had a wonderful lunch here today!! We shared the ceviche appetizer and had 2 Ensenada salads with the grilled shrimp. The flavors are amazing, large portions & delightful margaritas. This is my favorite place to eat. I have to be Gluten Free and I have never gotten sick here, they handle my food allergies very well. The food is amazing! I crave it all the time. Every single thing we have tried has been incredible. The restaurant is beautiful inside, really clean, lovely, modern. But above everything I just talked about, the customer service is top notch. They are unbelievably friendly, kind, hard working, and helpful. They make you feel like a friend when you walk in. If I'm going to spend my money it will be here, I feel good about giving business to Altos, they always go above and beyond. Love the fresh, tasty meals here and you definitely will too! read more

California infused Mexican food. First of all, $7.00-$8.00 a taco! A little spendy in my opinion, but they were big tacos. One chicken and one fish. Being a fusion they came with lettuce and beans, a much different taste that what I am used to. Topped with tomatoes a crème chipotle sauce and touched with cilantro. How come I never realized that this place had the best food, ambience and drinks in the 209? I had the tostada chicken salad and my wife had a great big bowl of tortilla soup. Altos was super clean and the menu was awesome! But the biggest surprise was the Tequila selection! it was amazing and they do flights. The food had no flavor this was very bad. No mexican flavor, taco bell would do better and it aint even mexican. So sad not even my dog would eat it. I feel sad for whoever ate that disgusting would never ever want you yo go that type of tramua, the rice don't even get me started. The beans out of a can the gaucamole was better than the whole menu. Even the water taste like ass. My dead dog could cook better. It was so expensive for what... trash? If you want low quality mexican food this is your spot. If you acctually looking for good flavorful food next door is better. Never would reccomend this trash hole. Yummy and healthy! We stopped in while checking out the shops at McHenry Village and had a great lunch here. I got a mixed greens salad with just tomatoes and grilled chicken breast. The chicken was seasoned and juicy. I used the regular red salsa as "salad dressing" and LOVED their salsa. I tried all of the four salsas and they were all amazing. Hubby got the healthy burrito and he ate pretty much the whole thing. Definitely worth the wait, since they are making food to order! read more

We live fairly close to this restaurant and enjoy their food. Always get good service. We love the salsa choices too ! We love to try them all. We are always happy with the food here. My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. I love this place!! Being active requires that I also eat well. I never feel like I am eating unhealthy here. I prefer the healthy Mexican food menu over the traditional lard-filled re fried beans anyway. I recommend trying everything on the menu at least once. Favorites include the Mediterranean veggie burrito in a bowl, chicken artichoke quesadilla, and the fish tacos. To the person that complained about the portions, I find that they are quite enough.
