    Spicy cucumber margarita
    Sofia B.

Highly recommend! Service was great. Jerry the bartender was our server. He was attentive and respectful. We ordered spicy cucumber margaritas. Sooo delicious. Definitely would order again. I got the pollo a la crema with corn tortillas. There was the perfect amount of crema sauce. Garlicky and yummy. Tortillas were fresh. My friend got the chicken enchiladas and also very good. Chicken was flavorful and wasn't dry at all. Music was authentic and not overly loud. The place was clean and looks taken care of. I wish I got a photo of the food but we were too excited to eat

Drinks! Chellys favorite, Margarita flight Board, and Strawberry coconut margarita.

Food, service, and ambience were great. The server checked in made sure we got everything we wanted. The food is flavorful and served quick! The beverages are mixed very well. Some of the most balanced drinks I've had.

Love stopping in for a drink and salsa. I've had the food and it's pretty good too. One bartender is a little light with the alcohol so when we see him I'm not ordering a cocktail I'm getting a michelada with negra modelo. Staff are alright bathrooms clean, tvs to watch the game and it's close by so we like going there.

Dropped in for a bite and left feeling like family. The vibes were relaxed, the service was spot on, and the food? Let's just say my taste buds are still dancing. I had a Pacifico with a lime-salted rim, simple, perfect, refreshing. Not everyone gets the rim right, but they nailed it. Danae had the enchiladas and gave them the quiet nod of approval that only comes when it's really good. Now let's talk shrimp...thankfully not prawns, but actual large shrimp, cooked just right. So many places mess this up. Not here. These were tender, flavorful, and downright delicious. You can taste the love in the kitchen. Everything from the chips to the check felt like home with a twist of fiesta. If you' are looking for a spot that serves soul food with a Mexican heartbeat, Dos Compadres is it. Bravo. We'll be back.

Came to eat at a decent time, sat me down and took them 10 minutes to assist me. Then requested to talk to manager and told him how they helped 3 families before they helped me and acted like he didn't care. No communication between workers. Bad service. Chips were also stale and they couldn't even offer me a cup of water.

    The Best I Ever Had!

The chimichanga that I had at Taqueria Dos Compadres is the best that I have ever had! It was well cooked and delicious. It comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, lettuce and guacamole. The taste is rich and flavorful. I had flan for dessert. Again it was the best that I have ever had. The flan is thick enough to stand up and thin enough to put a fork through. It is fluffy and delicious. The caramel is just perfect. It is flavorful and just the right consistency. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The ambiance is colorful and welcoming. My only regret is that I can't take a picture of the food. I ate it too quickly!

This is my second time coming here and the first after recently moving. I really enjoyed the amazing service. Plenty of parking in the back and a great ambiance with music and sports on tv in the background. We ordered the shrimp as an appetizer and I really enjoyed it. I also loved the molcajete and the chips and salsa. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Great service and fast, great food I really recommend the asada plate, the ambience is great to go in family. Absolutely love this place we have been going for 5 years and still liking the food

Camarones/Shrimp with a creamy mushroom sauce. Rice/beans/flour tortillas. Hardly any beans, very sad. :(

I have never been to Dos Compadres before. We were in the area (McHenry Avenue in Modesto) with a friend, and I hardly ever have Mexican food! I love Mexican food. However, when we dine out, we usually end up somewhere else. It was clean and visually appealing inside. Lots of colorful displays of papel picado, "punched" or "perforated" paper. The flowers are pretty, and the booth we sat in was roomy and comfortable. The waitress was sweet and on top of it! She was friendly and helped us navigate the menu, since it was our first time at this restaurant. I was appreciative for her suggestions. She also brought everything in a timely manner, even when they started to get a little busy. My food was delicious. I asked for my camarones/shrimp with creamy mushroom sauce to not have any cilantro or wine. They were accommodating. It came with rice and beans, a little salad (lettuce and tomato) and choice of flour or corn tortillas. I was a bit sad that the refried beans were not plentiful. There was much more rice than beans (I posted a photo). The bowl hides the fact that there were hardly any beans to speak of. My plate was about $20.00. My friend ordered the Taco Tuesday special. Just $2.00 each. They come standard with choice of meat: beef, chicken, carnitas, or pastor, onions, cilantro, salsa, and lemon wedges. I ordered some tacos to go for my son, he only wanted the meat and easy cilantro. He said he wished it had a little cheese on it, but they tasted good. Overall, a good experience. I would definitely eat here again. I would just hope the lack of beans was a fluke.

There are so many choices for Mexican food in Modesto. We use to come here a lot but it had been a while so we came on a Friday afternoon. I had a combo with chile relleno and cheese enchilada with red sauce. Wife had a veggie burrito with red and green sauce. That red sauce was so good!!! Great service and we really enjoyed our entire meal. The second basket of chips.......yes we had two baskets... don't judge! That second basket was freshly made and still warm and just tasty crunchy fresh chips and the house sauce was better than I remember. We will start coming back here and have that red sauce again....

Worth it! Walked into a very quiet, but colorful restaurant with only one other patron inside. The employees were so nice. We were told to pick anywhere, we were brought menus and instantly asked if we'd like anything to drink or if we wanted to look at the menu first... We asked for suggestions and the waitress offered the types of drinks they have. She brought us chips and salsa. The chips were homemade with a perfect crunch. The salsa was fresh, chunky and not spicy. The pepino cone limo aqua Fresca was the best aqua Fresca I've EVER had. Not too sweet at all and was SO REFRESHING. We also ordered an horchata and I was told that was just as good. The food... Where to start. We ordered an empanada and some quedabirria tacos. The empanada was HUGE, deliciously filling with fresh ingredients. It had great flavor. The quesabirria tacos were probably the best we've had. You order the amount you want. They are 5.99 each and oh so delicious. The meat tasted SO FRESH and flavorful. The creamy jalapeño salsa had a NICE kick to it. All meals come with radish and pickled onions as garnish, but eating them with the meal made it even more refreshing and delicious. They need more than one location, but until then we will be back! (Luckily, I heard they do catering.)

Avocado and sour cream made for a creamy balance to the carne asada and beans. Size wise was solid and for the price of $17 not bad at all. Overall I'd definitely come back 7.6/10

She did a good job explaining anything that may be different from other restaurants, and knows the menu so well. The food was so good. The table was completely silent inhaling the food as it was brought out. Our food was brought down less than 5 minutes after sitting down, and it was hot and fresh. The guacamole is delicious and their chips are really good too. Definitely some of the best mexican food i've found around here recently. The dining area is kind of small, but it wasn't too crowded and felt very homey. We got the crispy tacos plate (asada) and the taco salad (asada). The beans and rice are so amazing, and don't be afraid to ask for a slight change to the item! She was SO accommodating and made extra sure that what we asked for was done. The chicken taco was good but a little on the dryer side . We added the house salsa and that made it better . The chilli relay is were huge . Lots of batter . It was fluffy . Basic Mexican food…read more I ate at the Dale Rd Las Casuelas location with a group of 5 on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, there was no wait and many empty tables. It is a pretty standard local Mexican joint. It is very casual and family friendly. There is a small bar separate from the main dining room. There is also a large back room that can be reserved for special events. The decor was nice and the music was fine. We were provided chips, salsa, and beans. I was not a fan of these. The chips were dense and the beans were flavorless. The salsa was alright. It was pretty hot but wasn't utilized much because the chips weren't great. For my main dish, I ordered the Supreme Quesadilla with beef. It came with a side of beans and rice. I liked that the beans had cheese but I wasn't impressed with either side. The rice felt a little bit undercooked to me. The quesadilla itself was pretty good. It was very cheesy and had a lot of beef. I appreciate the large dollops of guacamole and sour cream. The service was disappointing. It took an extremely long time for the waiter to come and take our order. We were sitting there ready to order for probably 20 minutes or longer. Once we received the food, we did not see our waiter again. We were in desperate need of a water refill but the waiter never came by. To me, the service felt very slow and unenthusiastic.
