Pretty good experience here today, we were seated promptly but it took a while for drinks to come and much longer for the meal after the wait for the server to take the order. The food was well done, the ambiance was the busiest we have seen it in a while (they seemed to have a party on the bar side which is a good thing). The service was great. We were greeted with a smile. We arrived right when they opened, so we received our food promptly. While waiting for our food, we received chips and salsa. The ambiance was kinda quiet, being the only ones in the restaurant, but they had upbeat Mexican music playing. *The cook did get our order wrong, they gave my husband chicken, instead of asada. Tons of parking, very short wait time and an amazing stab. Toms if open table seating as well as booth to accommodate any size party. We thoroughly enjoyed our Special Combo which had four items for inky $19.50! My dad wanted the wedding burrito so I split it with him and my life has forever changed. I asked several times for the recipe and they wouldn't divulge. We had chicken in it but it won't matter because that's sauce is the perfect acidity from vinegar, creaminess from sour cream and spice from some sort of Chipotle sauce.....sooooooo good. Once I walked in there was no hostess so I assumed I should ask before I sit myself. When I saw two females near the back I politely asked if I should seat myself and the hostess was so distraught she did not say a word and had the weirdest look on her face that made me feel uncomfortable for asking a simple question while grabbing the menu's and walked over to a table without saying a word expecting me to follow her which I did but was left wondering what I did to get that reaction. I had a really disappointing experience at La Morenita last night 3/7/26. Our table of three waited over an hour and twenty minutes just to receive our food -- two quesadillas and an asada plate. During that entire time, we hardly saw a waitress. In fact, we had to ask the host for water and chip refills twice before a server even came by our table for our food order. What made it more frustrating was that it didn't seem like any food was leaving the kitchen during that stretch, so it wasn't clear what the delay was. When the food finally arrived, it was oddly damp and unappealing, and by that point we had been waiting so long that we weren't even hungry anymore. We ended up asking for to-go containers almost immediately. By the time we finally got the check and left, we had been there well over two hours for a very simple meal. What surprised me most was the complete lack of management presence. With waits like that, a manager should have at least come around to acknowledge the delay, apologize, or offer some kind of gesture (even a coupon) to encourage us to return. The food was mediocre very poor quality! The tamale had one piece of chicken in it! So I told the waitress and she offered to exchange it for something. This was our first time here and we loved it! We will now drive all the way to this location because they won us over. Everybody here had such a good energy, they were so sweet and smiling. They were attentive and kind. Our waters stayed at least halfway filled and even then it wasn't long before they were filled. The restaurant is split in two sides and there are tables on one side and booths on the other, it is very clean with nice decor. We were helped by many different people from their team. I ordered the taco truck burrito, I could only eat half because it was so filling and it was delicious! My hubby order the Special Combo plate and he loved every part of it. It was a ton of food! The Chile Relleno was larger than we normally are used to and so good. We almost filled up on the chips and salsa that they drop at the table because the salsa was also so addicting. My children approved of their food as well! 5 stars, great service, great staff, great food. You can just tell there is great management sometimes and we really appreciated the atmosphere! I have always passed by this restaurant and I'm mad I didn't try this hidden gem sooner!! You walk in and it feels like walking into an authentic Mexican restaurant!!! It seems like now a days every new "Mexican" Restaurant that opens is super upscale and trying to be way more than they should be (that new place Memos)! Also another thing to note about the ambiance was the noise level of music, it was just right enough and not extremely loud where you cant even talk to your party. I tried two extremely delicious drinks , "the mango sol, and a lemon drink! Both fresh and delicious! My friend ordered the wedding burrito supreme and I ordered a traditional style molcajete. Our food came out and the portions were huge for the price point! His burrito was covered in their signature wedding sauce which is a creamy mild sauce, it was a huge burrito. My Molcajete was filled with so much protein and I chose all 3 meats. The sauce definitely had a kick to it, but still very enjoyable! I will be coming back and trying more food items on the menu. My wife had Carne Asada with wedding sauce. For our beverages she had a Dr Pepper and I had a tall Pacifico draft. They have a bar with no bar menu. So first I would like to say I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Unfortunately I will never go back! My son has a gluten and shellfish allergy. I explained this to the waitress because I wanted to order him tacos to take home. She brought me my food and assured me everything was gluten free. I got home and out of the 4 tacos two were flour tortillas. I called and let them know and they said it was impossible because they only have burrito size flour tortillas! Had a great, well presented lunch at La Morenita today. Service was great and the restaurant is clean and inviting.

Food is great, with an approach to flavors that isn't the standard Cal-Mex. The carnitas are cooked in a red sauce, rather than just left to caramelize, which seemed odd until I ordered them in a burrito with green sauce. The meld of red and green on the pulled pork is outstandingly delicious! Wedding chicken is another that's a bit mind-bending if you don't expect it. The cream sauce is not an Italian-style cream sauce -- it's got a tang (maybe made with sour cream) and a subtle burn, and yes, the cotija is funky. I love the flavor combo, and the chicken is nicely moist. Atmosphere is cheerful and pleasant, as are the servers. They have a cocktail menu. read more

They couldn't understand me I guess. Went over my order again when i was paying and they didn't listen to my order just made it the way they always make it. So I had to call and go back over. Yum yum yummy. Right across the street from the office I was at for 3 days. This was one of the workers all-time suggestions and it didn't disappoint! It usually gets quite busy here, especially during lunch time. I ordered their tostadas and that definitely did not disappoint! Other places I've gone to, my tostadas came out and the tortilla was already soggy. Theirs stayed in tact and was yummy! They also give you chips and salsa in the beginning while waiting for your food. Food took a while to get out, but once it was out, it was worth it.
