This place is an affront to the history of Florida seafood. It appears to be run by a high school service club as no adults were in sight, and if there was management on the premises they were either out back getting high or completely incompetent. Perhaps both. Despite our reservation we were seated late, even though we walked past a dozen empty tables on our way to our four top. Never mind that there were FIVE of us. 45 minutes later (forty. five. minutes. later.) we finally had our order taken. The waiter was a nice young man, but he has clearly had no training on how to, you know, wait on tables. The food was over priced, barely seasoned and half of the orders were incorrect and one was forgotten entirely. The most egregious flaw in this absolute joke of a restaurant named after oysters were the pitiful oysters themselves. A dozen oysters for $17.99 is offensive in its own right, but the size and quality of these oysters were an embarrassment to biology. Besides each being roughly the size of a quarter coin, they weren't even completely shucked. My 6 year-old niece knows that a properly shucked oyster has the muscle holding the meat to the shell cut so that you can simply slide the oyster off the shell into your mouth, onto a cracker, whatever; but these little daubs of puss were still firmly gripping the bottom half of their shell so that when finally freed with whatever implement you happened to have in your pocket (because you don't get silverware here) was so shredded and mashed that it really did look more like a loogie hocked up on a particularly high pollen count day than an oyster you might actually be able to eat. This place is stupid. The prices are stupid. The food is bland. The service is slow, unorganized, and very poorly trained. This is a classic example of a restaurant owned by someone who hasn't a clue. I would bet money the 'owner' wasn't within 20 miles of this place tonight and had absolutely no idea what was going on and which teenager was running the show. Save your time, save your money, and save an oyster. This place is the biggest ripoff in the history of seafood. Buy some fish sticks and six pack of Budweiser, and stay away. read more

Delicious! There were 5 of us and all of our meals were great! Fish tacos, bang bang shrimp, scallops, conch fritters all so yummy! And Best view around! Cool place! Go now! You won't be sorry! read more

Great, casual atmosphere; good drinks, fun house band. Waiter was great. It took one hour to get our food after we ordered. We were ok with that because we were enjoying the patio and the music. However, when the food arrived, it was just mediocre. The dozen oysters were good - nice size. We ordered three plates of the deconstructed tacos. The corn shells came out cold for everyone. The shrimp was unseasoned. The ahi tuna for the tacos was fine. Shredded cheese from a bag. The pasta dish had a hair in it and the waiter noticed our reaction and offered to replace it right away. Honestly, he was the best part of the whole experience. It was all very expensive for an OK food experience. read more

Hit and miss. Wife got the shrimp and grits and they were amazing. Daughter ordered a grilled shrimp Po Boy and sweet potato fries....and got breaded/fried shrimp in her sandwich and regular fries. Son ordered the crab and it was not fresh. Beet salad was really good. Overall, meh... read more

We had a 80th birthday celebration in the private back room behind the bar. The space was perfect and the staff was accommodating in rearranging the room. Garrett, our server did an amazing job keeping up with all of us. The appetizers and dinners were all delicious and the bill was reasonable. I would use it again for an event and plan on dining there often. Thanks so much!!!! read more

takes a long time to get your food, terrible service. dont waste your time here. #givememyshrimpbitch

Food was great, server did her best, but after two hours of no food and the owner being rude to my pregnant wife can't recommend anyone going here read more

This place is amazing! We had a large group and the restaurant easily accommodated for our family! The food was delicious and we left stuffed! Our server Leslie was fantastic too! read more

The location is great with plenty of parking. The atmosphere is wonderful, I only wish the live music had gone until closing. The food is amazing and the portions are far from small. We had the mahi mahi with collards and jumbo shrimp with collards, both blackened. My bf had the crab stew and loved it. Can't wait to go back! read more

This was our first and last time here. We had a 45 minute wait given to us. Not a problem. We were then seated an hour and 5 minutes later. Still not a problem. After being seated, it was over 20 minutes before any one waited on us. The waitresses would not even look at us when they would walk by. After finally flagging someone down the manager came over apologized and gave us a free appetizer. The waitress that was then assigned to us was very unfriendly. Appetizers came out after another long wait and were cold. Waitress came back and asked if we were ready to order our main meal. I told her we had been there for two hours, was it going to be a long time to get our food? She said yes. Told her no thanks give us our check. Another long wait. She then dropped our check with a bad attitude and left. This place ruined our evening. As a side, note, they are way over priced!! 9.99 for hush puppies!! Don't waist your money for bad service, and over priced food. read more

Husband and I went for Saturday night dinner. We ordered oyster Rockefeller, coconut shrimp, crab cakes and blackened Mahi-mahi. Food was delicious! Talented musician playing in the bar area. However, the dining rooms are extremely loud. There were outside heaters for dining on the deck. Bar area is small and extremely crowded. The flow of traffic was not designed well with staff walking out of the kitchen right into people waiting for a table. I would not recommend for a quiet intimate date night. It was more like a rowdy party zone. read more

Great restaurant and Tom was the best server!! So nice and amazing food! Highly recommend!!

We got there about 4:30 to enjoy an early dinner on their patio. Very busy and you could see the servers hustling. The prices and food portions were very reasonable. The down side was about 30 mins to get our drinks and when we did receive our meals they were Luke warm. I think the food would be better hot - especially their crab stew. We will try again during the week to hopefully have a better overall experience. read more

The setting is very nice but the food was average. The oysters are small so they overcompensated with breading on the fried oysters. The soup was tepid and the grits were runny. For the amount we spent we expected an above board culinary experience and were disappointed. read more

Thank You Melissa, our wonderful server! The food was amazing! Great live music and outdoor sitting!

Ordered the grouper grilled but it came out blackened literally to a crisp. But the grits were good. Complained to the waitress the owner came to my table and I felt like he was arrogant and racist, very short! I do not recommend this restaurant unless your in the mood for grits. read more

Amazing. Have the Brussel sprouts. Have the fish sandwich. Whatever, you can't go wrong here. Loved it!!!

We came here for an early dinner and the wait inside was long due to Covid (but they weren't that busy). So we sat outside and it was pretty windy but nothing we couldn't handle. The heat lamps were off and no one came to help us turn them on. So we turned them on, helped other patrons turn them on too, and kept waiting for a waiter/waitress to come take our order. We waited a solid 20 minutes and no one came. Finally I stopped a waitress and asked if we could get our order taken, another 10 minutes went by and we finally got our order taken (30 minutes). The food was pretty decent nothing we would go back for. Thanks but we won't ever be coming back. read more

Went tonight for the soft opening. The place looks great, it really needed sprucing up, so,glad they kept the tree in the bar. Craft cocktails were well made , lobster rolls were fresh, sweet and tender. Especially enjoyed the key lime meringue pie.thanks to Leslie for the dessert suggestion , she was right it was delicious . Abby and Leslie were attentive, knowledgeable servers. We had a wonderful experience and plan to go back soon. read more

It was very busy, so we sat at the bar and I'm glad we did. Ryan gave us awesome service, even though the bar was packed. The drinks were perfect and the food was outstanding! I'm from Florida, so always skeptical about "southern food," but didn't need to be because they killed it! will definitely be back...and will head straight for the bar! read more

I've never left a bad review for a restaurant in my life, but wow- this was bad. I've never been before and have no plans to go again, so I can give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad night, but wow, it was BAD. Everything from cocktails, to soup, to burgers were truly almost inedible. Server was nice enough but totally clueless on basics like market prices. He informed us several times that "pretty much the whole place is training and everyone is new". New or not, the food was vile. I've never seen somewhere that looked so good yet was so terrible. read more

Excellent food and great service from Melissa. We will be beach often! Loved the unconstructed tacos and the bang bang shrimp especially.

We had some friends in from Ohio and they're staying in the area right off the beach, I immediately suggested St. Augustine Fish House & Oyster Bar. The ambiance is amazing, live music, perfect sunset and the food and service was impeccable. Everyone from the hostess to upper management made our and our friends experience the best! We had a great time and will continue to return! A job well done! Thanks! read more

Our VRBO recommended this restaurant so we checked out the happy hour. Let's just say we stayed the entire 3 hours and it was worth it. Rebecca was wonderful and handled the bar with amazing aplomb! We went on the $10 crab night and it was AWESOME! We started with the blackened grouper bites and these were so delicious. We followed that with the Ahi Tuna - AMAZING! Rebecca paired this with a Pinot Noir and it was fantastic. Next course, the crab legs - we expected to order a second serving but there was so much more we wanted to taste --- Get the Chardonnay with the crab legs. Next was the Bang Bang Shrimp - if you love wings, you will so enjoy these flavorful jumbo shrimp. We finished with the Deviled Bacon Oysters. Can I just say, Wow! Whoever thought of putting a fried oyster on a deviled egg was brilliant! Great night! Great atmosphere. And congratulations to Sophie for being valedictorian of her graduating class! read more
