Whoever the bartender is needs to go back to school! Every drink was NASTY!! Our waiter had 3 tables and took over 30 mins to get a refill. the food was subpar! Gator tail and calamari was wonderful but the grits were disgusting! paid over $100 for same thing I could get at a cheaper restaurant read more

This place is great! Beautiful location, shaded outdoor seating on the water, food was very good and service was excellent. Recommend asking for Tom Sky Rice as server, best we have had in a long time! read more

We ordered the fish soup and got sick food was pretty overpriced and not worth the money. overall would not go again

I have been going to this establishment for several years good bartenders throughout including Chris, Ryan and Sarah. Now Adam is at the helm and he is terrific hopefully the owners appreciate that. Steve P read more

I had never knew this place existed, as I live at the beach, but while on business my team stopped for lunch as recommended by Yelp. Fantastic piece of fish on my salad, and my team mates loved their po boy and fish sandwich. Charming house and great service. read more

A group of friends went to the Fish House and Oyster Company, near Home Depot (not Fish Camp), on Friday March 24th. When we got there one of our group told me that the Happy Hour was only in the bar and if I wanted a drink at 1/2 price to go into the bar, which I did. I was told by the bar tender that 1/2 price drinks were only available for people in the bar, which seated 15+- people and the locals evidentially knew that because the bar was packed. I responded that I had not yet been seated and the bar tender proceeded to provide me with what appeared to be about a 4 oz of wine at $5.50 (1/2 price) each, I bought two. When I got to the table and saw the menu the least expensive glass of wine on the menu was $11.00 which confirmed my half price glass at the bar. Not being happy with the overall service, the place was jammed and our waiter had too many tables, the relatively high price of the wine and the rather meager pour, I did not purchase any more wine. When the bill at the table arrived, to my surprise and others at the table who had purchased a drink at the bar, my bill included an additional $5.50 for each of the two small glasses of wine paid for at the bar. So I ended up paying $22.00 for the two glasses, $11.00 at the bar plus tip, and $11.00 additional on my bill at the table. The menu had a section that said "Happy Hour 4-7 PM", and in the fine print under the heading it said "only available in the bar", or something to that effect. So Happy Hour only applies to about 15+- seats in the bar, compared to maybe 200 seats on the deck and inside the restaurant. Bottom line, it will be our last visit to the St. Augustine Fish House and Oyster Company. On the other hand we have eaten many times at the Fish Camp (downtown) and had only very positive experiences there. read more

Beautifully renovated restaurant in a scenic spot. It was a Thursday night and they had live music. We ate outside by the fire pit even if it was 55 degrees! So many great things on the menu it was hard to decide. Started with a "Henry Flagler." It was a delicious bourbon cocktail. Ordered the St. Aug oysters, the house made cocktail sauce was to die for. The fish chowder was piping hot and yummy. My husband had the crab cakes with pimento cheese grits and green beans. Loved it all. I had the low country boil. Shrimp were very large, the sausage in the boil was terrific. Took home leftovers. Service was top knot high. We will be back for sure. read more

Much better food than the previous company Creekside. Food was really good especially the cheese grits and fried scallops. Also highly recommend the bang bang shrimp, they aren't spicy but more like the orange chicken flavor. Very pretty place too. Only problem was the service but waitress was new. It took at least half an hour to split the check correctly and it was still wrong. I suggest splitting before to avoid it. read more

We dined at ST Augutine Fish House and Oyster Co last night, Saturday the 17th. I am pleased to say everything was excellent. Additionaly, the young server did a great job and was most attentive. Calamari appetizer was very good, my wife had the lobster roll..excellent. I had the whole fried snapper, slaw and fries...thumbs up. Having a restaurant care enough to do things right is most appreciated and rare in this area. read more

First time visiting had good reviews. While waiting for table someone was complaining to the manager about how long it took to wait for food and it was served cold.... Say anyway. Told 45 minute wait, was 15 minutes after ordering food took FOREVER! Well over an hour. Live band was nice but won't go back or recommend. Better food and service elsewhere. read more

If you enjoy overcooked dry fish, grey overcooked vegetables and bland tasteless grits and potatoes then this is your place! If you enjoy waiting 45 minutes for your food to come out of the kitchen when the restaurant isn't even busy, then you should try it! I particularly liked all the chipped plates on the table. Maybe the dishwasher got mad one night because he had to wait too long for his food...... Nice that they cleaned the place up but the food was awful. Many much better places in St. Augustine to dine and enjoy. read more

Delicious dinner!!! We're in town for our annual trip to St. Augustine and wanted to try out the new restaurant (we were regulars at the old Creekside). Garrett gave great recommendations on the fish and preparation. The portions are very big with generous sides too! You should definitely give them a try! We will definitely return. read more

Great food. Large portions. Good service. Nice outdoor seating with a beautiful view. We'll be back! read more

Hubby and I went there last night for a last minute dinner since I wasnt really up for cooking after working all day. Our previous dinner there was great and I Remember seeing an ad for Lobster Night so we decided to give it a try again. We got there about 630, the hostess was very sweet, said the wait would be about 15 minutes so we ventured off to the bar for a cocktail while we waited. Bartenders completely ignored us, took at least 10 minutes to get their attention as we were actually seated at the bar. It wasnt that busy. When we were seated at our table we noticed a woman complaining to the tall male manager about her wait and the food, not a great start. About 15-20 minutes went by before we were even greeted by our server. Was actually considering leaving and going elsewhere. When the server showed up we immediately placed an appetizer order oysters Rockefeller, very tasty but so small, half dollar size shells mini lil bit of oyster. We placed our entree order, the Lobsters came out cold and the sides were horrible- mashed potatoes tasted old and bland, husbands pimento cheese grits tasted spoiled. The server never came to check on us, the floor was scarce of servers. I said to my husband "where'd everyone go?" I wanted to ask to switch the horrible potatoes for cole slaw but I was finished with the cold Lobster by the time our server reappeared. We've had 1 good experience here, the others were horrible. I beleive in restaurant forgiveness but we've decided there are so many other places in STA that are on point. Sadly St Augustine Fish & Oyster was not. And yes we still tipped well. read more

Our waitress (Liz) was amazing. Attentive and so cute. The Invasions (the band) rocked it!

Sometimes I hesitate to recommend a restaurant for fear that the lemmings will overrun the place and we won't be able to find a table. Pleasantly surprised with this new restaurant after Creekside (same location) closed. My DC and I are in danger of making SAFH & Oyster Company our favorite Sunday brunch hangout. (Bottomless Bloody Mary's). Wait staff are attentive but not pushy or annoying. Dining Companion enjoyed blackened shrimp and grits (pimento and cheese). My favorite is the hand held grouper sandwich. On Sunday, there are good choices of brunch entrees. Live music occasionally performs outside. There is plenty of seating outdoors with beautiful views of the water. read more

We had the best experience here tonight! We are visiting here from Pensacola, FL. The atmosphere was great from the music to being on the water. When we arrive they told us it would be a 2 hour wait if it started raining, thank goodness it didn't rain we got sat within 15 minutes. Savannah was the best server, she was nice and so tentative to us even though she seemed extremely busy! I will be recommending this place to anyone visiting St. Augustine and we will be back! read more

Place is a little hard to find but once you're there the ambience is great. Had the grouper. They gave you plenty of fish. My wife had the grouper tacos again plenty of fish in the tacos and it was build your own. Oysters are a little briny. I will say that. Overall we had a delicious meal at a very reasonable price considering 11% inflation in 2022 read more

We went this past fri night got there little after f had no resvervations got right in and able to sit outside where we wanted to sit even though it was slight chilly. This is our 2nd time here we loved it even more this time. I got the crab cakes husband got the grouper and grits. Cant wait to order that for myself next time. Time before that we got the platters....even my kids hamburger was great. And our sever Tom was fantastic as well.!!! read more

I've been here 3 times now. First time was decent, service and food I'd give a 4 out of 5 stars for a "fish house" family type place. Second time was with a friend for a quick dinner and it was mediocre. Food ok, bartender preoccupied with phone. Third time came with hubby again and just so disappointed. We went on a Tuesday and the special was shrimp and 2 sides for $20. Sweet! But not so much.... Food came out cold and I mean cold! Sweet potato fries and cheese grits were congealed and inedible. Shrimp so nasty bc so cold. Bartender was doing her best so I went straight to the young manager who was sitting at the hostess stand and readily identified himself as such. He did work hard to fix our meals so I'll def give him that! And when they came back out all was pretty ok. But it was an all you can eat shrimp dinner and we got there at about 6:45pm, by the time we had finished our first round of "all you can eat" we were told there were no more grilled, which we had ordered and that's what we wanted, shrimp. So all in all a bust, appreciate the cool bartender and the manager who made it right but eating out just shouldn't be that way! All the staff we came into contact with was nice and definitely did all they could to make things right, just don't need the hassle when I go out to eat. read more

Came from Ohio to see Grammy award winning Billy Strings and stumbled upon this place the last night my girlfriends and I were here. Between the Atmosphere, music by Denny Blue, the phenomenal food and great service from Audrey at the bar, my girlfriends (who are all in the service industry) had an absolutely amazing time. You guys are killing it! Thank you! read more

This place is a hidden gem! Great atmosphere, inside or outside. Upscale enough but also casual enough for kids. The food.... If you like seafood then you will be a repeat customer for life. Their portions and flavors are amazing and the price is unheard of. They have some of the best hush puppies I've ever had, and sitting outside by the fire making s'mores in the evening is the perfect close of the exceptional food! You will not be disappointed and you will leave with a meal's worth of food left over to enjoy the next day, as well! read more

Wife & I had 50th anniversary dinner there. We asked for indoor seating because we prefer our live music to be subtle background type. Isabella was the best wait staff ever - anticipated our needs and wants and did not over or under attend to us. Fish dinners were huge and perfect. Bread pudding more of the same! I think we just discovered our new favorite restaurant! read more

The food was absolutely delicious. The inside dining area has been perfectly remodeled. The restaurant was packed on Friday night. We had an hour an fifteen wait but that didn't matter. The bar and deck/fire pit area with live music was open and made the wait So nice. The entire staff were so nice and attentive. In my opinion they should consider not filling the deck with tables to allow the wait to be enjoyable. I am so happy for the new owners. read more

I'm not sure why we had to wait so long for a table, there were empty tables all over- inside and out. Then we were told to go ahead and sit at a table and someone would be right over. It took awhile, but someone eventually brought menus and water. Ordered drinks and appetizers which were alright but took forever to get. Then we ordered dinner. That took way too long before we got it. Our experience for some fresh local seafood took hours and hundreds of dollars. Very disappointing experience. I've been following their FB page for months before we visited. I couldn't wait to give it a try. I won't be back and I can not recommend. I can say the wait staff and bartender were friendly when they were present. read more

Not a fan. My second time here. This time was for brunch. Where to start? The Bloody Mary's had a terrible flavor... sent it back. She brought me another and I was told this was from another batch??? Another batch? I only ordered one drink?!? The brunch options all sounded very exciting and pleasing to the palette, however that's where it stopped. I ordered the captain's breakfast with cheese grits as my side. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were made 2 hours prior. The grits were over cooked like mush and I was told they couldn't remove the cheese because well you know it's already mixed in. Another "batch made" item I suppose. The sausage tasted like Hillshire farms prepackaged you might find in your local Publix market. Just ok in my opinion. Fried chicken was tough and not crispy whatsoever. I guess I'll save the best for last. The biscuits and thimble full of sausage gravy was probably the star of the dish for me. If I didn't know any better the food seemed like it had been sitting at the buffet and I was the last in line. The outside seating area seemed nice although we sat inside since I'm not much for eating in the heat. Our server was clueless. She brought a dish over to our friend with egg yolk clearly dripping off the side of the plate and basically dropped the entire yolk off the plate into her lap. Never even acknowledged it.... Anyway, there are much better places in St Augustine for brunch I would go elsewhere. read more

Went with my family of 20 on the last night of our family vacation. Our reservation was for 8:30. We got in right around 8:30-8:45 and it took FOREVER for our waiter to come take our drink order and then forever to bring them back and then another about 45 mins to get our food order and by this time it was only us and another party sitting and talking in the whole restaurant. THE food was great but the wait was not. It also didn't help that our waiter was by HIMSELF with a big party. We're used to waiting for our food because of how big our group is but this is the 2nd time this has happened in 2 years. The food was great but the wait was the worst part. read more

Best oysters I've had so far in the city. Cant beat their $1 oyster Wednesday special. Outside view can be a hit or miss. Not so pretty when there's no water in the river. Otherwise I truly appreciate the food and ambiance. They have live music and great talent on stage. read more

Food was phenomenal. Stuffed grouper was excellent. Service (by Alan) was awesome!!

Food was delicious! Our server Alan was amazing, he took care of all of our needs during dinner. Will be back again!

Horrible service. Food mediocre at best. Oysters barely edible. Not sure how this restaurant is still open. To make everything worse, attitude from both bartenders who consistently made the wrong drinks, rang the check up incorrectly, and never bothered to let us know why the food was taking so long (ordered fish filet, should not take very long to cook). Overall bad experience. Would never recommend anyone to eat/drink here read more

Six of us went to dinner here the other night. Everyone was entirely satisfied with their meals. Three of us had the cocktail called "The Ponce," and we highly recommend it. If you can, get seated in Liz's section. She's the best server I've had in a long time. You know how servers will come up and interrupt the conversation at the table? Liz waits for you to stop talking. She's a pro! One person in our party can't eat seafood, but she wasn't disappointed, because the chicken strips were moist, tender, and delicious. read more

We visited for dinner this evening. The restaurant was not busy. The food was very good however the service was not. Our server came to get our drinks and didn't ask 2 people what they wanted and walked away. We had to ask him to come back for the rest of the orders. He never came to ask for any refills on drinks. He never once asked us how our food was. Our 3 yr old spilt a drink on accident. No one helped or offered to clean it up. J had to go to the host stand to ask for napkins. Anytime we needed anything we had to go to the host stand, who was watching a movie on her ipad. We asked for one more drink it never came so had to ask another server. We ordered a fish sandwich and it was completely dry with a store bought bun. We had to wait for at least 10 minutes to ask for tartar sauce which then took another 10 minutes. The food was really great but we will not be returning unfortunately. read more

Nice waiting area in the porch, ample parking space. they had live music and a DJ. The menu had a good variety of food for everyone. They have ongoing specials during weekdays. Nice décor in the main room. Our server Daniel was very polite and helpful with the orders, was a busy night. Food delivered on time well presented. Prices are reasonable. Will be coming back to try the specials. Overall a good restaurant. read more

We have eaten there before and the meal and service was excellent. However, we went there with friends last night and the food was terrible. Had the captains seafood platter. Everything was overcooked. The fish was dry and difficult to cut, the shrimp was hard and dry, the scallops were overcooked as was the deviled crab. The fried oysters were ok but there were no hushpuppies either. The pimento cheese grits were good but the corn on the cob was overcooked and dry as well. Very, very expensive as well. Not worth the money at all. Should have called the manager over but we were entertaining friends from out of town and did not want a scene. We have had children in the restaurant industry and are very patient and forgiving of waitstaff and always over tip. Have only called a manager a couple of times in our lives. This was bad! read more
