The Bistro has lovely ambiance but when it came to seating, taste, and prompt service I have a few issues. First off, we were seated outside at a table that wasn't on level ground. I felt I was sliding off my chair and asked to be moved to a different table. The Bistro is a French restaurant so I understand the need to have small round tables but their menus are large and clunky so patrons are unable to comfortably set their menu in a place that isn't overwhelming the table. Drinks were par. Their signature old fashion wasn't exactly spectacular and the French onion soup wasn't anything to write home about. A swoon worthy menu, in fact I did ponder over what to order - for it all sounded delish. I settled on the smoked salmon and eggs. Perfectly cooked eggs, perfectly moist salmon, a hint of caper lemon crème fraiche (wished there were more), burnt, inedible cubed potatoes, a barely risen, bottom crusted biscuit... Great service. Food wise, I had higher hopes for this restaurant as we stayed in the hotel attached. It is a Michelin key hotel so naturally we thought the food might be near Michelin level being that it's part of it. It wasn't bad per se, but it was very average at best. We ordered a Ruben (super super fatty, I've never had such fatty ham before in a sandwich) the bread and toppings were yummy. We ordered pancakes, the presentation was cute but they weren't very good. Thin, nearly flavorless syrup, and left a little sadness because pancakes can be so yummy! Also ordered the breakfast plate. It was fine. The berries on the pancakes were excellent though! The table was covered in paper and had crayons for kids, which is kind of fun but felt cheap at the same time because plates are crinkling. read more

Screech. rack of lamb, delish, and meat loaf. Mini mister wanted more racks, middle mister and mrs middle mister ate everything and I mean everything. Little mister? Well middle mister was eyeing his broccolini and went for it. I almost forgot to mention the steak tartare. Just order it. i Wasn't feeling super welcomed by the host, who tried to dissuade us from waiting for a table, but wait we did, and I liked the decor and setting enough to do so, so it was disappointing when we finally were served. The food and drink were not good. At all. The trout was grilled and tasted like a steak. It was so sad- the delicate, beautiful piece of fish was ruined. I had a gag reaction with every bite, as it had a burned beef fat flavor. The veggies were mush, and the mushroom sauté was cold. The drinks from the menu were excellent, but when we ordered off menu- not good. This place has work to do. read more

The rooftop bar/patio was so cool. Got a hard seltzer for $8 which was a bummer, but they have all the free snacks your heart could desire. Also, the live music and overall atmosphere made it very worth it. Also, they're chickpea fries are the absolute bomb - highly recommend! I struggled in my decision to give 3 or 4 stars. Though the food and cocktails were delicious, the whole experience was odd. Cocktails, appetizer, entree and wine spacing was in shambles. Nothing was presented sensibly and the staff's disingenuous effort came off as pandering to unwitting tourists. These pandemic times do test us. read more

I am completely dumbfounded by the 1 star reviews. This place is a gem in the middle of Jackson Hole. Tastefully decorated in a French bistro style. Quiet and impeccable service. We split a shrimp cocktail and the Reuben which I would rank in the top 5 Reubens I've had. I stopped by this morning for breakfast, it took probably about eight minutes to get someone's attention at the bar to take my order. The food was served promptly and it was delicious. Not gonna lie. Wasn't impressed when I seen a "French" restaurant at our hotel. I use to live and Europe and not a fan of their food. However, as much as I didn't want to try. I did. All I can say is wow! We had been to another breakfast place and were disappointed in the pancakes and service. We decided to turn this place and wow! What a difference. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. The fresh scones were the best I have ever had! My grandson devoured his pancakes and chocolate milk. The eggs, sausage and breakfast potatoes were amazing and they have fresh, warm croissants that are so good you will not want to share! $180 dollar Applebees meal masked as gourmet. We ordered out at this restaurant 2 steaks with the sides, they tasted like artificial grilled smoke, meat was choice grade at best, very chewy tasteless and not good. Sides where microwave quality at best. On top of that they automatically charged a 20% mandatory service fee. What a racket. read more

Some friends and I stopped by last week for a drink while deciding to make reservations elsewhere for dinner. We were seated out in the lobby area of the hotel, which was fine since our server at the bar area was still very attentive and cheerful. Drinks were great, so great that we shot our shot and asked if there were available tables for dinner. While we didn't get a table, the server managed to get us seated at a high top by the bar. Food was excellent. Calimari to start, followed by more drinks, wine, and the best halibut ever! Plus point for my steak being coincidentally shaped like a little bison! I'm staying as a guest in the hotel, and I've ordered breakfast to take up to my room a couple of times. Pretty good, but expensive for what you get. I tried to order online, but unfortunately their online ordering only lists their dinner items. The first day I ordered there was barely anyone in the restaurant. There was a younger guy taking my order, and he didn't speak English well. I was trying to order a plain bagel with cream cheese and jam for my wife, and he had trouble understanding what I was asking for. She ended up getting some kind of multi grain bagel and didn't get the jam I asked for. I ordered biscuits and gravy which was decent, but nothing fancy, especially for the price. I walked down on a busier morning and tried to order food to go. It took a while for the host to acknowledge me, and she then directed me to the bartender. When I asked the bartender if I could place a to go order, she seemed annoyed and said maybe in 5 minutes after she makes some drinks. I placed the order and stood there around 20 minutes waiting on pancakes and a biscuit. I finally made it back to my room with the food and realized they didn't give me any utensils. I haven't dined in the restaurant, but the service towards a patron of the hotel was quite disappointing. read more

Favorite restaurant experience on our trip to Jackson. The restaurant is in a classy hotel lobby. The butter with the starter bread was super creamy and delicious. My bf and I started with the tuna tartare which was served with homemade potato chips. Fish was OK for being in a land locked state. Loved the duck confit with the farro which was super flavorful. I am not a huge fan of cherries and the waitress was kind enough to let me try the sauce that came with my meal before I ordered it. I ended up liking it! I came here for lunch and I ordered the French onion soup and had the Rueben sandwich. The soup was oily and tasted sour, almost bitter. The Reuben was nearly flavorless, aside from the sauerkraut, and was presented sloppily. The service was okay, and at least the restaurant was clean. So delicious!!! The two of us wandered in and they had two spots available at the bar. We ordered all the fun things. Two Oyster shooters (They came one at a time and took forever to bring the second one out...) oysters on a half shell! So delicious, but when I asked which ones they were, the server had no clue... Beautifully plated dishes, nice atmosphere. The buffalo bison was under seasoned, potatoes were too sweet but the broccolini was decent. The huckleberry sauce did not add much to the meal. The pork chop was the best entree we tried. It had good flavor and was a good sized portion. The mushroom dish was very small and not worth $25. The peas were undercooked making the dish very crunchy. The flavor of the mushroom was good but the portion was sad. read more

So yes the hamburger was great, according to my mother-in-law, who enjoys simple food. My husband's duck confit was maybe re-served from last night? This is his favorite dish and he was beyond disappointed, as they seem to have tried to pass off a dry chicken bone as duck, served in a watery bean broth. The Monday special, veal osso Buco, was tender but not the flavor one would expect. And not served with any potato dish for the watery gravy. The restaurant was *very* loud and difficult for our table to maintain a conversation. The food was pretty "meh" overall, but it was expensive. The four of us had the Bar Steak (pretty good), the Moules Frites (also well-liked), the Ricotta Pillows (just OK), and the King Trumpet Mushrooms (bad). We also shared two salads (endive and mixed greens) which were good. We went on a 2-for-1 entree night and even with that deal we ended up spending well over $200 for four people (still not quite sure how that happened with 2-for-1's, though we did share a bottle of wine and a dessert, FWIW). Our server was a bit aloof and cold, and he made us feel like he didn't really want to be helping us, but in his defense it could have been mostly due to the fact that he also had trouble hearing us due to the noise level. Anyway, I appreciate them being open during the off-season, and I appreciate the 2-for-1 deal, but I can't say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for dinner based on my now multiple experiences similar to this one. However, their brunch/lunch is pretty good and a slightly better value. read more

Christmas Day Dinner One of the few choices left on Resy/OpenTable we booked here, and I am so glad we did! Started with French Onion Soup which was interesting because it was not only topped with a cheese-covered crouton but crispy red onions! I ordered the RedWine Braised Shortribs, so yum! Son ordered the Bison tenderloin and was thrilled with each bite. Sadly the desserts did not measure up to the deliciousness of the main meal. Creme Brulee was not torched enough to carmelize the sugar and was topped with two cookies, which were cakier than a traditional cookie. I ordered the brownie sundae, made up of tiny brownie squares under ice cream; the brownies were dry and underwhelming, considering the fabulous entrees. Great place for dinner, but avoid the dessert. read more
