The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I noticed a bunch of regulars dining at the bar, which looked perfect to me. The bar is walk-in only... so next time I don't have dinner plans, I'll remember I can just walk in and try for a seat. I'm sure I'll see two familiar faces... the owners, Anthony and Christine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I recently came back with a friend for oysters, clams, and drinks, and we sat at the bar for the evening. The oysters, clams, and mussels were absolutely delicious. I originally ordered a Grey Goose martini before realizing they only serve beer and wine, so I switched to a Chardonnay, which was great. The experience was nostalgic in the best way. I know the ownership has changed since I first came here, but I was so happy to hear the cook is still the same! It really brought back memories. We had a fun night overall -- although I may have slightly annoyed the bartender by asking her to take photos of us (they didn't come out too well under the lighting). Before we left, another server kindly helped us take a few away from the lights, and those turned out much better. All in all, I'm really glad I came back to give J and J's another whirl. The food was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was warm and nostalgic, and it reminded me why I loved this place to begin with. You should give it a try too!

He made some great recommendations and promised we'd love it and he delivered. My blackened grouper was phenomenal and the rice was perfectly cooked & seasoned! Just when we thought we were done, along comes the key lime pie. After a slight delay, due to making a fresh batch of whipped cream, it did not disappoint. The whipped cream alone would have been worth this review. Well done Sir!!! We enjoyed chatting with you and your food was delicious. We will definitely be back when we return for the auction next month!!! Eric

I had been to Mussel Beach years earlier and remembered how good the mussels were at that time so I asked my boyfriend if he would like to try it. Luckily, we were able to secure a booth upon arrival and the crowd appeared a bit later. Our server was helpful and the atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered mussels steamed in butter, garlic, white wine and lemon - How could they be bad??? They arrived in a large pot with toasted bread for dipping . I enjoyed every bite. They were fresh and tasty!! Although my boyfriend chose a cheeseburger vs mussels, I got what i set out for and I was not disappointed. The mussels are prepared many different ways. I'm sure each dish is as delicious:

5 Stars - Hands down one of the best nights out I've had in a long time!…read moreWalked in on a Friday during Lent craving seafood and immediately got hit with a live band playing "New York, New York" while the whole place was singing along. Asked the waitress if they had a seafood boil and she grinned and said, "We've got the best -- sit down, you're gonna love this." She was right. The boil was absolutely excellent -- perfectly seasoned, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The energy in the room was electric, the vibe was pure fun, and the food was outstanding. Loved it so much I brought the whole family (wife + bunch of kids) the next Friday. They went crazy over it. We ordered lobster, shrimp, Dungeness crab, and everyone picked their own sauces -- garlic butter, spicy, the works. Every single person left happy and stuffed. This is a seafood boil done RIGHT. Great live entertainment, awesome crowd energy, and food that delivers every time. You gotta come here. You're going to love it.

This last time I went with a larger group, about 15 people. They gave us the "private" room so we could have conversations comfortably. Our assigned servers were great. Drinks, bread service, water were brought quickly. Appetizers did not take too long either and must say the Octopus and Tuna tacos were amazing! We all selected our dishes, and without any issues, they were all brought out. No one had to wait for anyone's dish to come out, they served everyone at the same time and made sure we all had exactly what we had ordered and needed. This time I went with the Branzino with the spinach risotto. And just this dish earns them 5 stars again. Really a great place to come enjoy great food, relaxing atmosphere and excellent service.

Two of us in the party actually got the sea bass - one with mashed potatoes the other with risotto. Both excellent. The other member of the party got the lobster fettuccini which was equally incredible. It's a massive portion too with big chunks of lobster meat and shrimp. We ordered the lobster bisque as an app so I would recommend if you do get the fettuccini skip the bisque they're both similar due to the sauce in the pasta.

It is a perfectly fine option if one chooses wisely…read more Lovely ambiance. When you walk in, observe what people have ordered and decide. The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. Counting calories. My tipping default would normally be 20% but today... not sure what I will leave lol.
