Hot Hot Chicken
Alexandria R.

The people working there were really chill and nice. I didn't interact with them much since you order and then sit down, it didn't really seem like the average waitressing kind of restaurant. The food was pretty good. I like the tater tots more than I did the biscuit. I expected it to be at least a little bit spicy because of the name and description, but it was very sweet... I'm actually thinking that they did not use hot honey and just used actual honey. The chicken also wasn't really crispy, which was kind of a bummer but the biscuit was great and the meal itself was very filling. I probably won't come here again unless I'm really craving a biscuit and don't know where else to go, but I wouldn't say the food was bad . everything was really clean and the vibe in general seemed really laid-back. It was kind of empty in there but it's location. Seems like a really cute date spot.

Sweet Potato Tots - Taco Style

This spot is a chill brunch/ lunch spot. It's heavy so bring your belly! But it was fresh and very good. We got sweet potato tots (taco style) honestly BOMB! French toast was sweet and tasty. And lastly a great twist on a Monte Cristo so yummm !!! For me it was a little sweet idk request a regular biscuit and some maple syrup. So I can control that. But overall we would go back for sure! If you haven't you must!

We have been here twice now when we visit Dallas and every time we are extremely happy when we leave. Their biscuits are perfect. Fluffy, buttery, and they DONT fall apart. Such a huge bonus since it's a sandwich - I don't want to fight the biscuit. The chicken on the Hoss was crispy and flavorful. The gravy could have been a little bit more flavorful but when I got enough in a bite it was perfect. The Monte Cristo is definitely sweet but all the flavors hit the mark. The service was average - but a guy outside was very helpful and personable. The outside can get messy but not terrible. Honestly don't pass it up.

Fully loaded Tater Tots - Fully Loaded Style

I love biscuits and don't usually go for biscuit sandwiches, but after trying biscuit bar this is a place I have no reservations about a biscuit sandwich. The biscuits are soft and buttery, the ingredients are cohesive, and the execution of everything was 10/10. I tried the hot honey biscuit, the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, and the fully loaded style tots. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit really stood out to me, it's a perfect breakfast biscuit. They had a bunch of different 'styled' tater tots and they were really good. The restaurant wasn't very well cleaned after the brunch rush, but someone came over pretty quickly to clean a table for us after walking to a few different spots and not finding something clean enough to want to sit down. Overall, I highly recommend giving this spot a try!

This is a must visit whenever I'm in town. My favorite is their Nashville Hot Hot Chicken (though really it's not even hot, but has great flavor), the tater tots and salad. Yum!

Pretty good but seemed odd. No one was what I would call welcoming or friendly. They weren't unfriendly - just oddly friendly-ish. (I admit this is not a word). The food was fine and we enjoyed the meal. The place was decorated well and we were grateful for that. Not sure I would go back given the odd feeling. Also - maybe an odd time of day to eat there - but about 645p - the place was pretty much empty. Folks trickled in a few at a time. The food really was fine - and maybe we just came at an odd time - but it felt off for some reason. Almost like the place was getting ready to "close for good" and no one (else) knows it yet. "Oh - don't you know??? We"re going out of business soon..." was the vibe I got.

I was in town for a conference and needed a breakfast spot so located this one not too far from my hotel. It's an interesting spot with almost all of the menu items being biscuit themed. When o arrived it wasn't very crowded. My gps took me to the rear. But it wasn't a far walk. Most of the other business aren't open for breakfast so there was plenty of parking. Not many people dining in ask it was rather quiet inside. As soon as you come in there is a menu on the wall. You place your order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. I went for the biscuits with gravy and a side order of the loaded taco tots. The biscuits and gravy were very filling. Biscuits were very hearty and able to stay firm even after soaking up massive amounts of gravy. Flavor of the gravy was slightly peppered and very rich. Definitely a meal that sticks with you for the day. Interesting spot if you like biscuits but I don't recommend if you are on a diet be issue you will get your full days worth of calories in one meal.

Weekly Review Bites: Fannin County and Beyond - by Tonjah https://www.ntxe-news.com/index.shtml The Biscuit Bar promises big, buttery comfort with a bold motto: "Everything Is Better On A Biscuit." I stopped by the Plano location to see if the food lives up to the hype--and if biscuits really can make everything better. Spoiler: some bites delivered, others missed, but the biscuit itself? Absolutely worth the visit. Restaurant Review: The Biscuit Bar - Plano, TX Motto: Everything Is Better On A Biscuit This Biscuit Bar is located at 5880 State Hwy 121 #102b, Plano, TX 75024 at The Boardwalk at Granite Park, nestled among a row of other eateries & bars with outdoor seating on a waterside boardwalk. On weekends, the area comes alive with vendors and pop-ups, making it a fun spot to stroll, snack, and people-watch. The restaurant has forward-facing outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying your biscuit with a side of sunshine. But let's talk about the motto for a second: "Everything Is Better On A Biscuit." A bold claim. Is everything really better on a biscuit? Maybe not everything--but here, the biscuit is definitely pulling most of the weight. At times, it felt like the toppings were trying too hard to live up to the biscuit, and not the other way around. So no, not everything is better on a biscuit... but a lot of things sure are. Tried: The Philly: Seasoned ribeye, grilled peppers and onions, Monterey Jack, Sriracha Buffalo Blue Chicken: Southern-fried chicken, buffalo sauce, bleu cheese coleslaw Hot Hot Chicken: Southern-fried Nashville-style hot chicken, dill pickles, house-made ranch French Toast Biscuit The Good: The biscuits are the MVP--buttery, with a nice crisp crust and enough heft to hold up to whatever you pile on. The fried chicken on the Hot Hot Chicken was hands-down the best part of the meal--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crisp. The French Toast Biscuit was the real standout--sweet, rich, and packed with flavor. Easily the most memorable bite of the day. The Not-So-Good: The fillings didn't always live up to the biscuit and felt underwhelming flavor-wise. Overall, the combos seemed like they were trying too hard to be clever but didn't quite deliver on taste. A few bites left me wishing they'd just let the biscuit shine without all the noise. The Philly sounded promising, but I was hoping for big, bold flavor--it ended up just... fine. A little confused, a little flat. Buffalo Blue Chicken--southern-fried chicken with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese coleslaw--sounded like a flavor bomb, but it fell flat. The tang and heat you'd expect just didn't show up, and the whole thing felt muted. It wasn't busy when we went--we were the only ones there. Granted, it was 4:30 PM on Easter Sunday, but the whole area itself was still crowded. The calm might appeal to some, but inside, it lacked the energy and buzz you'd expect from a spot in such a lively location. Final Take: It's a fun, niche concept with a biscuit that truly shines. I'd recommend everyone stop by at least once--especially for the breakfast-style options or that French toast biscuit. If you're going, stick to the biscuit basics. That's where they really shine.

I loved the idea of this place because I am a big fan of biscuits. This place is more of an order at the counter and they'll bring your food to the table which is nice because it's open seating. I went on a Sunday morning with 3 girlfriends for brunch and we were lucky enough to find seats outside. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and it was very dry. The biscuit itself was pretty dry and the eggs were runny. I also had their tots which was very good!! My friends ordered variations of the biscuit sandwich and they all said it was just ok. However, I have heard from others that they love this place, so it could just be a one-off that the time I came the food wasn't good. I will be back to give this place another try before I write them off completely.

This is a wonderful place to visit for some of the best tasting biscuits in the DFW metroplex. A warning though, the weekends are insanely crowded and it'll be hard for you to find an eating spot. I recommend weekday lunches if you can escape from the sorrowful sufferings of work. This place gives you joy to face life's woes. The biscuits themselves are fluffy, soft, and have a gentle balance between savory and sweet goodness. I personal recommend the Hot Hot Chicken if you want a mixture of mild heat added. The Biscuit Nuggets are great! It's like a mixture between a churro and a beignet topped with whipped cream. Pretty much anything you order here will be thoroughly enjoyed. On busy weekends, you also get to see the folks here handcrafting the biscuits themselves.

What's the wait like on the weekend?

No more than 15 min

Is there happy hour on Sunday?

No there isn't

Planning to come by in the morning. Do you have a different Brunch menu or is it the same? Thanks so much I'm advance?

Hi Mary! We offer our full menu for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner. Enjoy your meal!

Is Plano store open today (02/19/2021)?

Yes! We open at 9:30 am today and close at 10 pm.

Is your Plano location open today? 2/18/21 ? We are driving from McKinney and want to make sure!

Plano open from 9:30 am today (2/18) until 8 pm! Drive safe and see you soon!!

Do they have waiters or you get your own food from inside?

It's a cafeteria type setting where you stand in line and order your food. You get a number display and the waiters will bring the food out to you. You get your own fountain drinks.

Do they have any Gluten Free options?

Yes! It's listed on their menu. U can view it online!

Gluten free options?

They were not offering any gluten free biscuits when I visited. They do have yummy tots & salads, but that just isn't the same as a biscuit sammie.

Is there typically a wait for brunch?

On the weekends yes. I went on a Sunday and the line was out the door but the food was so worth the wait

Are there any gluten free options?

Not that I'm aware of.

Do they have brunch?

The entire menu is practically brunch. Perfect for it!

Does anyone know if they use lard in the biscuits? Or what kind of shortening/butter they use?

Unfortunately I don't have this answer. Your best bet is to contact them directly.

I saw a location in Frisco near the Best Buy and Target shops but it looked closed. Is there another location?

That's a different restaurant (just called Biscuit, I think). The Biscuit Bar is on the SE corner of 121/Tollway by Blue Mesa and Union Bear.

What sodas do they serve?

Stubborn drinks! We carry the typical Cola and Diet cola and root beer, and a bunch of unique and exciting flavors - lemon berry acai (closest to sprite), big red, vanilla creme, and a few more! Definitely not your typical sodas, but I'm sure you'll… Read more

It's got that Texas feel to it, but cleaned up a bit. Comfortable, but still a little polished. The food was really solid across the board. You know how brunch can sometimes just be... fine? This wasn't that. Everything tasted like someone actually cared about it. Good seasoning, cooked right, and just enough creativity without overdoing it. It still felt like brunch, just done properly. Drinks were great too. Not over-the-top, just well-made and easy to enjoy. Definitely the kind of place where one turns into two without much convincing. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together.
