This location definitely isn't what it used to be. Prices have gone up while portions and pace of service have not. The décor is more modern instead of traditional. I miss the old newspaper clippings on the walls. Sports always being on the TVs doesn't appeal to me either. Is there a reason local news isn't an option? There was a puddle of butter on my toast this morning and far more vegetables than eggs in my Lean & Green Scramble (the vegetable amount was fine, but it merited another egg). I appreciate the ability to swap out mushrooms for tomatoes though. More substitutions should be allowed (i.e. fruit for potatoes), and where are the turkey bacon or chicken sausage alternatives? I'm SO glad Mariah's back now! Y'all need to do whatever it takes to keep her!! That young woman's a gem FOR SURE!!!

We walked in the door and greeted with a smile and a "good morning". Our waitress, Misty, asked if we'd be there before and we had been to the Liberty location not this one - this is the 1st one. Sooo they gave a sticky bun brought out by the owner. OMG talk about melt in your mouth heavenly. Their gravy is flavorful and all was cooked to perfection. Service is friendly and fast and the place is super clean. You should stop by!

Went to the original The Big Biscuit in Independence and wow, the portions are huge! The friend chicken is outrageous and the sticky biscuit was swimming in melted sugar, cinnamon and icing-that's wasn't a bad thing. Leave the calorie counting at the door! Friendly staff too!

Went for breakfast during a weekend in KC. Food came out fast and was really good. The flavored lemonades were awesome and the combinations were some I haven't seen before. Bought 2 of the coffee cups and they are the perfect size for my coffee at home! Definitely would go again when we go back down for other events.

We were on our way home from vacation and I was looking for a decent breakfast place and I found this gem. The food was delicious and our waitress was so nice and because it was our first time there we got a free big sticky bun. It was so good within itself! The place was cute and all. If we are ever that way again we will be back!

Really fun place to have breakfast. Nice staff and very cozy environment. They have all these photos of old time movie stars. Eggs, bacon, and crispy hash browns. What more can you ask for? Biscuits and gravy, you say? Delicious and very satisfying Midwest cooking. My friend ordered toast, and the waitress said, "Toast? You can eat that at home. Have the biscuits that we're known for." We laughed our asses off and agreed she made a solid point. Definitely recommend.

Had a great experience here! Came in with a large group this morning and was seated immediately with excellent service. Our server Mindy was a hit! She was super patient with all of our orders and very helpful. It was a very cold morning but the Big Biscuit warmed us up and filled our stomachs with delicious food. I got the Southern Sunrise, a very sweet treat that filled me up quickly and left me with plenty of leftovers to take home. Highly recommend!!!

Ambiance was casual Sunday morning crowd. We were seated immediately. The server gave us time to browse the menu. Keeping this short and sweet. The did was freshly cooked, order was exact when it arrived and delicious. Chicken was seasoned perfectly and offset the sweetness of the syrup on the waffles. Pancakes were described as delicious. I will definitely try them on my next visit. Hubby said the portion amounts were in point and made it worth the money spent !!

This place tastes great and I love it but since the Covid, the cost is higher and the quality has gone down a little. The staff has some too but still good service and the food is still good depending on the cook and what day it is. I would still go sometimes not all the time as I use to. read more

A great restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Friendly staff and the food is delicious. Good sized portions and I usually leave there quite full. Menu has many options on he menu that choosing is the hardest part. Can get quite busy, especially on the weekends. read more

we came in for the first time since they have reopened. greeted with coffee by a sweet little lady and introduced her name as harmony! she asked if we were returning guests and we said yes of course! she made sure our food was right and coffee was always hot! the whole experience was delightful and harmony was a doll! thank you big biscuit for your excellent service! read more

What ever you do, do NOT go to this location. I have gotten to go orders several times from this place. And the order has wrong 3 out of 4 times. Today I ordered a large biscuits and gravy and a extra gravy on the side. Get it home and found 2 cold biscuits that should have had gravy on them and 2 small containers of gravy that was the amount that should have been on the biscuits to start with. Called back to speak with a manager and was told it must have been a misunderstanding in how I placed the order. They always want to put the blame somewhere else, Not even a sorry for the mixup. So don't waste your time or money here. read more

If you want a hearty breakfast with lots of choices, I'd recommend Big Biscuit. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and you get the feeling of a small diner. It's actually better than a small diner because the tables are roomier. This is becoming a "regular" spot for us. read more

I ordered chicken and waffles to go. Picked the order up right at the time. Got home and found that the put a big piece of what looks to be a chicken tenderloin in top of my waffles. So anyone with common sense would know that my waffles were soggy. I called the Lee's Summit location and was like hey my waffles were put in the same box as hot chicken. His name was Ryan and was like yeah that is the way we do it. I was like that is fine but this was a to go order. He said you are the first person to complain. At that point I was like I am not going to get anywhere. So frustrating! Niecie's Restaurant is so far away but at least I can say I have never had soggy chicken and waffles! More like The Bad Biscuit! I once loved this place. Haven't been here in years because of a move. It's dated and dirty inside. the bar area was unkept and there was stuff stacked on the bar top so it was not accessible. I waited to be seated and it took a while once I did get seated the service was just okay. Just like the food just okay. I ordered the yard bird the biscuit was Big and cold. The chicken was good but a very small portion. when I did find some gravy it was suitable for consummation but not big flavors I remember from the past. The hash-browns were not fully cooked on half and burnt on the other. There was no refills given and no follow up. Some of these things you let go when a business is busy but with only four tables the service should have been better. When my check arrived my server started the transaction at the table she then handed the machine to me and told me what to do how to leave a tip and print out a receipt? she left it on the table and that was that. I will say if you're in the area and you want a good hot homemade meal keep driving you might find something down the street! read more

This place is AMAZING. IM SUPER PICKY WITH MY BISCUITS AND GRAVY! This place was amazing. They have something called a bonut. It's a biscuit that they fry like a donut and put powdered sugar on top. AMAZING. If you have time to stop by do. It's so worth it. Definitely worth the stop on our trip. read more

I'm sad I didn't get a biscuit. Anyway. It was packed (not surprising for a Saturday morning), but we were sat very quickly. Cute and cozy atmosphere. Fast/efficient/effective service - the place is obviously fully staffed and they know what they're doing. I went all out. My breakfast choice was the coffee, pumpkin pancakes (seasonal), bacon, and eggs over easy (I ended up mixing these with hash browns). My order was perfectly cooked, tasty, and incredibly filling. I can't think of anything to nag about. It was pretty much the perfect weekend breakfast. The pumpkin flavor of the pancakes was exactly right and didn't taste artificial. Minus one star because my husband found a hair (not ours) in his omelette. FYI: hairnets can solves this problem. read more

THE BEST BREAKFAST IN THE WORLD Whenever my boyfriend and I visit family in KCMO all the way from Las Vegas, we eat here. Not once, not twice...basically the whole stay. Finally got around to checking out The Big Biscuit. I opted out of the namesake and opted for the big breakfast which consist of 2 huge pancakes,w baby sausage pattys,2 thin bacon strips and a nice portion of eggs.For $10 it was good. Jam packed on a Sunday morning but was able to sit at the bar. The food was hot and fresh. Service was good and positive. I'll be back to try the Biscuit on my next visit. read more

Food is pretty good but last time I went biscuits were crumbling because they were so dry and I definitely over paid for 2 meals for me and my 10 year old. About 50 bucks. No pricing on the menus so everything must be too high to put prices. If I would've know I would've walked out and not ordered. Crazy read more

So this place came recommended by the waiter at our meal last night. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a cheerful host. We ordered and the food was deliver fast and hot. The eggs were cooked perfectly and displayed better than any eggs I have ever seen. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and delicious. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the sausage was tasty and just had the perfect blend of seasoning. On the the best part the additional carbs. My breakfast was called the big breakfast and it literally could have feed 2 people. The pancakes were larger than a dinner plate and I tried the seasonal pumpkin flavor and I can they were the best pumpkin pancakes I have ever had. They topped them with whipped cream and I did not even need syrup. Finally the name is Big Biscuit. We had to try the biscuits. The biscuits were amazing. They were larger than most biscuits And with the gravy they were just perfect. We had Breakfast, lunch and dinner in Kansas City and all 3 were excellent. Glad I do not live in this city as I would surely gain weight... check it out read more
