The Best Stop is a must visit if you love Cajun flavors. There's a great variety of hot and cold items, and everything felt fresh and well prepared. The chicken crackling was especially delicious, and the boudin balls were hot and flavorful. We even got to sample a few things. The store and restrooms were clean, parking was easy, and the staff was friendly.

**********BOUDIN HEAVEN************ The customer service coupled with the flavoring of the food is the reason people drive 1-3 hours to try BOUDIN, CHICKEN CRACKLING PORK CRACKLING, BURGERS and BOUDIN BALLS. The moment you walk into the door, a employee is greeting you with an authentic smile and warm welcome. Then you are overjoyed with the FREE SMELLS and SAMPLES. From hot food to frozen food you can surely get your DOWN SOUTH fix of the country flavoring and down home cooking. My favorite of course is the WARM CHICKEN CRACKLING and PEPPERJACK balls. They are absolutely delicious and taste homemade just like the original location. I merely need my fix often and it never fails. The SMOKED BOUDIN, vs the REGULAR BOUDIN, I prefer the smoked but it's pepper flavored is surely kicked up a notch. It is more dense compared to the regular which is more wet and flavored. My recommendation is pairing them with the FLAVORED CRACKERS. Oh my goodness you will not regret the drive or choice of food. Now let me talk about these burgers. They are pure ground beef with some of the best mixtures to make your mouth savor and bite your finger if you are not careful. The special bread has a slight sweet flavor; however, you can always substitute for regular bread if necessary. I am always asking to make changes and I am please most of the time. Ii have to admit there have been room for improvements through customers feedback. If you are just needing A CAJUN FIX, I will be the first to say try some of the fresh food which requires preparation at home. There is a huge variety and great choices. The team is lead by one of the best executive teams. Alexa the marketing director is so kind and sweet. Aaron the general manager is always willing to lend a helping hand. DON"T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT...............TRY IT FOR YOURSELF.

Inside of Mild Boudin

I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw on social media they had a location in Katy and that I don't have to drive all the way to Louisiana lol. I didn't try much on my visit as I was in a hurry but I do want to return and try more items! From what I did try everything was great! The hospitality was also welcoming and friendly. I told the employee assisting me it was my first time and with no hesitation he offered me nice samples of the mild, smoked and original boudin. They were all tasty and flavorful but I opted for the mild as I didn't want any spice! The meat to rice ratio was perfect and it was moist and flavorful so I don't have any complaints. I also tried a sample of the chicken cracklin and i'm so mad I didn't get any cause it was sooooo good!! If you're a fried chicken skin lover you would really enjoy them. Whatever cajun seasoning they sprinkled on top of them was really good too. I would come again and take my time to look and shop around but overall I had a great experience!

Boudin Balls

I love me some boudin from Scott, Louisiana! I had a craving for something different but "light" (not a full meal) of the snack nature. But..we are in Katy so I didn't know what to expect. The employees were attentive & helpful. The boudin balls were interesting. I've had them from another popular stop in Scott & these were a different consistency than what I am familiar with. Almost like there was a gravy mixed in. They were spicy & fresh. The cajun mayo was $1.50 extra/not included which was a slight bummer but such is the cost of doing business; nothing is free. I want to go back to try their regular boudin but I don't think I'll go out of my way to get the boudin balls again.

Visiting Katy we stumbled upon this place after seeing a TikTok video and had to check it out for ourselves. We got there and there was no line or wait, the person taking orders told us there was new things being put out that was fresh. We looked at menu we wanted the pork cracklings but was $30 a lb!! We wanted to really try the chicken cracklings and we got 1/2lb, we also ordered smoked boudin and I wanted to try the red beans and rice. The smoked boudin wasn't as smoky as I would like and it was very spicy 6/10. The chicken crackling 10/10 and the red beans and rice were 10/10 great place to stop and check out

Excited to have a new 'stop' for amazing fresh Cajun food, especially loved the smoked boudin, amazing smoke & decent amount of spice and so good I basically finished in one bite...but they also have fresh pork & chicken crackljngs double fried (breaded/battered) & bagged (chicharrones to my lay LA indoctrination). Crawfish pie was ridiculous too! They do king cakes in Jan/feb & also 4th of July time, fyi. No cafe du monde but community coffee is also a great chicory coffee they have here, not sure if it's a blend of chicory here but most commonly community brand is...Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating answering all my stupid questions and letting me have samples of everything, lucky me! Def plan on making this a regular stop for the chicharoones, boudin & friendly folk!

The gumbo ($9 for a bowl) was pretty good, but a little salty. I wish they had more food options from the kitchen besides deep fried dishes. Will definitely need to try the boudin, sausage, cracklings, and other cajun food offerings on our next visit. The dining area unfortunately smells like cigars due to the tenant next door.

All this for 14 dollars SMH even charge for the crackers

Overpriced Boudain was good this place was okay I wouldn't come back definitely not worth it it's crazy they charge 2.00 for a dipping sauce of mayo RIP OFF

I wanted to stop by this spot in Louisana but I never did. Come to find out they opened one in Katy Texas. I was pretty happy to stop in. The customer service is top notch! Everyone was very attentive! Food: I really liked the bacon, egg sandwich. Tasted very good. Full of flavor. The smoked boudain was top notch! Very good and full of flavor. Reminded me a lot of Burt's meat market. The red beans and rice was very good as well. The pepper jack boudain ball was full of flavor. I'll definitely stop in and get more smoked boudain. That was definitely my favorite. I'll be back soon.

In the few times, I've traveled in Louisiana....I have always stopped at the "Cajun Market". Usually for some cracklins and other supplies for the smoker. Now I don't have to travel too far. I enjoyed the Chicken Cracklins and the smoked boudin. It had a great smoke flavor and some kick! It had flavor and spiciness. I did enjoy the PJ boudin ball biscuit. Anything breakfast-wise, I'd get in form of a breakfast sandwich. The bacon order was small for the price. Other than boudin and sausage, they got plenty of products to choose from. I'll definitely be stopping back.

Not always possible to run to Louisiana to get some of your favorite Cajun treats but now you can just head to Best Stop in Katy. This is a beautiful store and cafe that serves all things Cajun. We grabbed a pork chop, some chicken cracklings, pork cracklins and a special order of unseasoned only salted cracklings for the wimp in the group (me!) and then threw in some boudin rolls with pepper jack. Service is super friendly and the food is the star. Just like that I was transported to Lafayette.

Smoked or original Boudin

Hello, my name is Ashley B. Let's get started with the review. I had a taste for some spicy Boudin and this was the closest location to me and it was so good. I ended up getting the smoked Boudin, which was very delicious and the original which was spicy. I was able to take care of my taste for boudin and will be back next time.

Now they know they was wrong for that grit-rice!!!! Ugh, the grits had no love and was super dry and just horrible. Everything else was ok. I guess they are not known for their breakfast.

The best Boudin in the whole world. You can either get it fresh or frozen. Which makes it convenient for everyone.

The 1/2 lb of meat was somewhat satisfying, but you'll probably want a side (i.e, fries or tots) to make the meal feel more complete. Our friend ordered a shake and was unable to drink from it because the straw was designed too small for the consistency. Unfortunately, they didn't have any other straw, but not a big deal - just something to consider for the future. They don't offer free water. If you are thirsty, you have to buy a drink or stay thirsty. I'm not a fan of this concept because it's not going to force me to buy bottled water. I just rather not pay for bottled water, but that's preferential. I rather go next door to get milk tea afterwards. Not sure how I feel about tipping at a place where you order at the counter, clean your own table, and take out your own trash. Do people tip at Whataburger? The interior felt clean. They had a hand washing station up front too (though not sure if we were suppose to use it or if it was employee only). Come and give this place a try!

Once inside and seated, our waitress was at our table in less than a minute. (I noticed this was true, with the couple that came and sat at a table next to us too) We got our drink orders and then a basket of homemade sour dough rolls (biscuits) was at our table. These were great biscuits and the jelly & butter were out of this world. My wife had the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh & crisp and the chicken, was seasoned and grilled to perfection. I had the sticky ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone and great. The sticky sauce was a nice mixture of sweet and spicy. Definitely going to get them again. Great food, matched with great service. My only negative comment, which did does not affect my rating. Is the table top was loose. It wiggled around and moved any time you cut anything or even just by spreading the butter and jelly on the biscuits. This time it did come with different sides - kind of cool, something different than the previous trip which was only in October. They said they said one of the high top tables near the bar and I thought it was kind of cool that the manager brought me a little coat rack thing to hang our purses on. We had two problems which is why it got 3 stars: 1. Our reservation was for seven and at 7:25. We had to go ask when our table would be ready and the reservations were made a week in advance 2. we were there for a birthday (2 couples) and we wanted the table side smoked old-fashioned so we ordered it and our waitress who is new didn't bother to tell us that it cost extra to get the table side. So they brought us the plain one from behind the bar, so we kind of missed out on that experience. Since it's $5 more expensive to do a table side, you would think that they would push for that to raise the overall bill for their tip. But her excuse when we mentioned it was "oh, you didn't ask for that. Its $5 more" Well, we didn't know we had to ask for it, thats not mentioned on the menu - we just thought it was part of the drink... but other than our waitress being inexperienced... it was a fantastic evening and we would still return.

The exterior is just as beautifully decorated. It's clear that chef-owner Lori Pope poured a lot of time, heart, and soul into both the menu and the store's design. The hostess was super friendly. As soon as I walked in, she gave me a warm and smiling greeting. The menu was a feast for the eyes. It had a lot of lovely pictures of the different dishes. I was ecstatic to see that there were so many vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Also, most of the dishes can be requested to be made gluten-free. Big plus. You don't order at your table, instead you go to the counter in the back and make sure to bring the sheet with your table number on it. The gal at the counter who took our order wasn't as friendly as the hostess but she was polite enough to inform us about the 15% charge. The food came out very quickly. Hopefully it's because they had a ton of people working in the back. Hopefully. I ordered the Magic Mushroom Tacos and thought it was a beautiful plate. My favorite thing about the dish is the tortillas. It had a nice light crisp to it and kept all the fillings intact from start to finish. The "Magic Mushrooms" were good but could have been better if the batter were lighter and crispier. The batter was a little on the heavy and dense side for me. I also think the sauce could be even better if it had a bit less oil and a bit more flavor. I really enjoyed the potato slices and the fresh berries were a great way to cleanse the palate. My lunch date ordered the Biscuit and gravy dish and thought it was good. We also ordered a side of the Belgian waffle to share. I thought the waffle on its own was extremely sweet and way too dense for my liking.
