Fried Pickles, Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Honey Hot Wings, Chili Cheese Hotdog & Fries

This isn't fast food, but it is good food. First time at this location, but it gives the feeling of a neighborhood spot. Lots of screens & tables, spacious and it even had a resident Girl Scout selling cookies the day we stopped in. The owner stopped by every table and greeted the customers. Nice touch! The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls hit the spot. They were flavorful and cheesy. Wasn't expecting the cheese pull. I would come back just to get them to go. Although the pickles & wings were overly fried, the flavors saved the day. Because we were trying to taste everything, we ordered a plain chili cheese dog, so it was just another hotdog. I would reorder it with all the fixings like onions, relish and condiments next time: but it wasn't bad. We will go back again. PS After the meal, we bought a box of Girl Scout cookies and a mini peach cobbler bundt cake to go. The cake was moist and surprisingly peachy

I love this place ! I think the prices are bit to high though. The food is good 8/10 . I've had it 3 times now and I do enjoy it but the prices are too much . My favorite is the wings !

I was happy to see that Coney moved to a new location even closer to my house. I like the new open space. It is a great improvement over the old tiny space. The food is still outstanding and my go to hot dog place. I hear that they have great wings - but for me it is always the dogs. They have all beef dogs and also dogs that are 90% beef/10% pork. For me it is always the pork/beef mix. It seems to have more flavor and a satisfying snap. The owner is a great guy and always super friendly. PS: The new location is in a strip center with about a dozen other restaurants. The sign is a bit busy and easy to miss - so look for it at the end of the strip center nearest to the Break Check.

    Cheesy, deliciousness !

When I lost my beloved James Coney Island, I was on the hunt for another hotdog establishment that came close. There are several places hotdogs but most don't do the basic chili and cheese. When I found this place I was not only excited that it was close but also served classic chili and cheese hotdogs. I wasn't super happy with the location, across a Walmart, small and crowded parking lot.....overall not my ideal location, especially to go alone. The restaurant itself is small and cramped and not much room for customers waiting to pick up. On the plus side, the owner is helpful and friendly, looks like he's working hard. The prices are much appreciated in this economy. Lastly, our food was delicious. I will be back and would like to try the philly steak and other items.

Okay my friend was dying to come to this place & as soon as we walked in we was greeted with a warm welcome from the owner himself. The place was very homey and clean. Now let me talk about them wings BOMB CRUNCHY CRISPY ALL THEM FLAVORS BURSTING THRU MY MOUTH!!! I'll never tell you a lie!! Stop by & grab you some. I didn't get a chance to try but the deserts looked soooo darn tastyyy!!! Go now.

Boss Hogg Special: Chili Cheese Dog, fries, cheesesteak egg roll, and mango habanero wings

Whatever you think, whatever you've read, whatever you've been told, the hype is real. Staff was so friendly, and the food? If you love yourself, bring yourself here before even thinking of sharing this hidden gem. It's such a chill, casual spot as well. The Boss Hogg is definitely the way to go! The mango habanero wings were crispy and so juicy, the perfect level of sweet and spice. I have to confess to eating those fries like they were about to be a tax write-off, and don't even get me started on the cheesesteak egg roll. No matter how old I get, a chili cheese hotdog will always be delicious and this is one for the top of the list. Be prepared to have a nice nap afterwards because the Itis will find you quickly but kindly.

Ordered delivery....2 Detroit dogs and seasoned fries. Arrived on time, fair price and DELICIOUS. What a treat. Will definitely go back n

Haven't been here in a while.. I usually only got the Philly Cheesesteak eggrolls, but wanted to try the chicken. The wings were fresh and crispy ( everything was ), I chose the hot honey and bourbon sauces.. Glad I chose here for dinner!

If you're not eating enough, and you look a little BONY And your head keeps playing Billy Idol's MONY MONY Don't go to some other hot dog shop and get a PHONEY Get the best dog in Houston at MIDWEST CONEY WHAT Some of the most amazing hot dogs and wings that you'll ever try. Certainly my fave in Texas that I've had. It's probably my favourite hot dog truck in the whole country, and sells some of the best hot dogs outside Chicago that you'll ever eat. The owner is energetic and passionate, and I love the location where the actual truck is, at Chimney Rock Food Truck Park, as well as this sit down location way out in Westchase. Sadly, I don't really come here anymore, because the last couple of times we were treated very badly by employees, not including the owner, although on a separate occasion, I did hear him have an altercation with some rude-ish customers over an online review they'd written, and that kind of rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. It was a little confrontational. But the problem with us is that we are usually in a hurry when we come here, and I know it takes ages for the food sometimes and I'm okay with that, and we don't stop in unless there's no one in line. So one time we came in and we were just basically ignored for ages, girl serving was on her phone, and then had to wait a very long time for phone orders to be taken (which came in after we were standing there) and while people that ordered ahead of us got food that was more complicated than ours, and then she finally took our order about 10 minutes later. That trip was nothing compared to our final visit. The most recent time we went, we came up to order and nobody else was in line, the same girl ignored us again. Then one of the people that were sitting down in a group stood up and came and looked at us, laughed, and proceeded to order in front of us. The girl that was working laughed along with it, saw all this happen, immediately took their order while looking at us to see if we were going to do anything about it, as if they were messing with us. I don't think I described these interactions very well - they were weird - but there were a lot of things going on here that strongly suggested something between "you'll be badly treated here" and "you're not welcome here." Based on these last two trips I would say that we are customers that they don't want to serve. I don't know if that's the case for the establishment in general, or just the person working those 2 days, but I do think that there was some nastiness towards us going on, blatant, obvious, repeated rather than an isolated incident. There's a chance I'll still come back here in future, but we were weekly regulars for a couple of months, so it's a shame for both us and the business, as we haven't been back since. Having said all of that - this is some of the best food in Houston. The best hot dogs, the best wings. I highly recommend you come here and give them a try. But if you experience the same service issues we did, don't be shocked. So if you're living in Houston under Witness PROTECTION And hoping that the right wing doesn't rig the ELECTION And you can't get rid of your all-night ERECTION Come and try the wings at Midwest Coney CONNECTION WHAT!

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

I visited for a 2nd dinner and found very few items to choose from on their menu, mostly sandwiches to my surprise. I tried both the burger and the flank steak sandwich and a tiki cocktail. Second, the service was awful. Tiki cocktail - they indicated they were out of one of the ingredients to make this drink. So I asked if they could just substitute that ingredient for cranberry juice, and they said yes. It turned out to be a decent drink even after the substitute was used. Good thing I didn't want a 2nd drink because our terrible waitress, who was apparently doubling as the bartender, never bothered to ask me. Steak sandwich - made with flank steak, sloppily put together by the kitchen staff. It look like it fell off the plate then they pieced it back together, but never made it nice again before serving. The taste was decent and meat was tender, just too much bread in this dish. Both dishes come with hand-cut fries. They were average at best. I've had better hand-cut fries though. Burger- looked and tasted good, the double patties are paper thin. You don't get much meat at all on this. I did like the taste of the patty though. As I indicated service was just bad. It took forever anytime we needed anything. I never received a refill on my water either. Even though I was sitting in a booth right next to the bar, the waitress never came over to our table to check on me. The place was sort of dead when I arrived also. Not sure if they are about to close down or what, you would think more customers would be here, but it is back and away from the main street of City Center and hard to find in the first place.
