Mad Dog hot dog did not disappoint! The fries were freshly made and seasoned perfectly. My hot dog was cut in half and topped with fried onions and cheese. The tables were clean and the restaurant was empty. Simple, fresh, and a satisfying late night treat.

Sun is shining on this beautiful Saturday and what do i discover....MAD DOGS!!! This place had great hangout vibes for both lunch or fun food date with friends or the kiddos. The meat was one hundred percent quality and the chili had a perfect blend of seasoning and spice. I ordered the Chili Cheese Dog combo and I'm dying to try the other menu items with no hesitation. This place is a must try!!! The inside was clean & gave great Houston (H-Town) vibes and the staff were very hospitable. If you are looking for quality hot dogs ...look no further. Enjoy!!!

Solid smash burgers, good service at the counter! My only feedback is that the patty was a little overseasoned/salty, but still a great value. The fries were crispy and fresh.

Don't let the lack of reviews fool you! Super friendly and welcoming! Delicious and sizable portion! We got the Spicy chili cheese dog and their elote fries! Will definitely be back to try their smash burgers!

Today, I decided to try this place out. Order a pick up on Door Dash. On my way there, I got an alert that the food was ready. I ordered the mad dog, Philly dog and chili cheese fries. Once I got there, the food wasn't ready. There was only 1 guy working. There were 3 other uber drivers waiting on food as well. The kitchen was a complete disaster, I thought about cancelling my order. There was Clorox cleaning spray on the counter, boxes, just all kind of stuff. Anyway, the guy brings me my food, I check it....EVERYTHING was cold! The hot dogs were so salty, there was no way I could eat that. The chili taste like it can straight out the can, not even heated up! NEVER AGAIN!

I've been coming here for about 2 months now, at first when I use to come in everyone treated me with respect. Now when I come I get mean mugs for no reason, I even walked in the store one day to see that the manager and the black girl who works at the counter whispering and looking at me, which made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I usually get mean mugs from the black girl who works at the front for no reason at all, not sure why and I do not care. I just come in, order my food, eat it and leave. I don't bother anyone but the staff here decided to make my experience at Mad Dogs a bad one. Tonight, I'm actually under the impression that the black girl who works at the counter spit in my food. I can't confirm it, It just weird that the sauce looks watery and has small bubbles it, idk but I've never noticed that before. The black guy with the Muslim cap and black glasses is a pretty sneaky dude just like the black girl at the counter. He doesn't greet me specifically when I come in but he does with everyone else. The same as the black girl at the counter, tonight she greeted me but she noticed that she did it by mistake and did not realize who I was. Also when I order my sandwich is doesn't come out like it used to. I wish could have took a picture of the before and after. Crazy how a public place for eats will treat you if they do not like you. I'm not sure what I did to gain so much turmoil as well as the bad experience but I thought I should let everyone know that does or will or even would like to visit as well to pump your breaks before coming. So I've got a question for you!... would you eat here if you were in my shoes with all that going on?

I found a stapel in the burger of a double. I have been ordering from here twice a month for over 6 months. Memorial day we ordered and my husband choked on a staple or small paper clip. We ordered on a delivery app and they won't refund us. I contacted the chain directly no response. I was so upset seeing my husband spit out a metal object. It could have killed him. Receipts see the wrapper and the burger in the picture. Kind of blurry. I was shaking.

A view of the service counter from the dining area.

I've eaten at Mad Dogs twice. This time I got the brisket dog. Texas is known for beef brisket, so I had high expectations. In short, this was a dissapointment. The main problem is that the dog is heavily covered in BBQ sauce. In Texas, proper BBQ does not reqire heavy sauce because the BBQ can stand on its own. The brisket on this dog was lacking in any smoke and in that regard it was bland and uninteresting. Any good aspect the brisket was lost under the heavy sauce. The other parts such as the dog itself and the bun were also lost under the heavy sauce. I would not buy this product again. The service was generally quick and friendly. The dining room was generally clean. I like the kiosk ordering system. One problem with this location is the harsh, harsh white lighting which lacks a pleasant and inviting warmth. The harsh lighting in the dining area gives the feeling of a gas station.

Literally no complaints, a chill place with amazing food! This was our first time, we were craving hot dogs and found this place, the service was quick and the vibes are great. The food was better than I could've imagined. I'm glad we decided to check it out!

We tried the turkey, brisket, and jalapeño sausage, and every one of them was delicious. The brisket was especially impressive--moist, incredibly tender, and so soft you didn't even need a knife to cut it. The sides were very good, but the meats were definitely the highlight of the meal. One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The kitchen line has lots of workers happy to help with questions and let you see/try anything you are not sure about as they have some non-traditional options for a BBQ place. Having said that, all the food options work so well together. I got brisket and chicken. Chicken was fine but I'd skip it and go brisket all the way. It was so tender and juicy. They have several sauce options. You can't go wrong with any. They were in the middle of construction/expansion but there are still lots of seating options in or outside. I would definitely go back here instead a typical BBQ place. The flavors just hit so well together. And the Mediterranean style is clearly a healthier option. The lychee ceviche I was looking forward to was underwhelming. More beautiful than tasty, which the dessert suffered the same fate. The soccer ball was photogenic but it should be both with the level of sophistication in taste they acquire in their craft. It was reminiscent of a Cadbury egg. Just the peaches and the chocolate were unimpressive and not complimentary of each other. The tuna papad was amazing. Some subtle hints of aromatic Indian flavors and and sweetness. The contrast of crisp and soft and presented well. That's how I expected each dish. The rizala was creamy but not exciting with bold flavors like I was hoping. The lamb was inconsistent. One of them was tough and texture/taste off. The rest were tender but not flavorful enough in seasoning. Tried a new naan. Nimbu it was ok but too thin for naan and the lemon essence didn't really spread well across. Mango pina colada was nice. Quite disappointing for $220 though. Possible I just ordered terribly. The chef tasting menu didn't look appetizing or sound very Indian so I ordered à la cart.

I tried to give the restaurant a chance to make things right by calling them. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was told they were busy and to call back in a few hours. That was frustrating, especially after spending $40 on a meal and an appetizer. Overall, the small portions, poor quality steak, incorrect order, and lack of immediate customer service made this one of the worst dining experiences I've had. We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

This is a nicely sized spot next to the Jusgo plaza in Houston Chinatown, so plenty of parking and also food options. It's tucked in a corner but should not be written off. Its a pretty casual sitdown restaurant and we were welcomed and sat pretty quickly on a Saturday around 8:30PM. We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I def recommend this spot, esp if you like lamb as all the dishes we had were excellent and priced fairly for the portion and current economic situation.
