Needless to say I had a serious cockroach problem. I contacted Beekeeper and they came out. I had honey in my walls that had to be removed. I had a colony of bees in my tree estimated to be 90,000 bees. I wanted to have the colony relocated (yes I am an old hippie), but the colony was too large, too much honeycomb and with the current heat the colony could not be relocated. After consulting a couple of exterminators I called the Beekeeper. When I started seeing dead bees every morning in my workout room above our garage, I knew there was a problem. I called my regular pest control company, Preventive, and they promptly sent out a tech to check it out. Unfortunately the issue appeared to be beyond their expertise - give them a scorpion and they can handle it, a bee infestation needed a specialist! They referred me to The Beekeeper. I was pleasantly surprised when I called them up and was told "I can have someone there in an hour." What?! And, true to their word, Carlos showed up right on time! Carlos Maldonado is prompt, courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable! he took one look at the issue and knew how the bees were getting inside plus advised me on what he could do to resolve the issue. Unfortunately the bees had established a hive inside the wall and we could either have it removed or simply have the bees killed then deal with honey seeping down the inside of the wall. I could only imagine the additional issues that would cause! (ants, mice, etc..). We opted to have him cut open the wall and remove the hive completely. So Carlos said he could be out the next day to cut open the wall, remove the hive and repair the wall back to its original condition. We scheduled the removal and he arrived on time, removed the bees - there was a huge honeycomb with about 10pounds of honey in the wall! (Money well spent, I say!) Carlos repaired the wall and - I dont think painting is a regular thing, but we happened to have matching paint so he even painted the wall again. Then - unlike any other worker we have had come out to our house (which is quite a lot since our home is needing a lot of TLC) - he even cleaned up after himself really well! even spot vacuumed where he had tracked some dirt in. wow! Neighbor knocks on my door... "sooooo... i saw a ball of bees on the side of your house earlier, but now they're gone. I think they went into your block wall..." I have immediate catastrophic shock... i glance to the sky and and notice a cloud in the shape of a hand with the middle finger exteded, flipping me off.... i think... "it's gonna be one of those days eh?"... I literally thought... ok... wall has to come down (block home)... gotta get the bee guy to come, get the bees out...then we gotta rebuild the wall, hell we might as well paint the house while we're doing this.. i could take out a loan to take care of this, or maybe sell one of the cars... or maybe a kid!... After a minor freak out, I yelped beekeepers and found THE BEEKEEPER... called and told them my problem, they said they would be out to my house within the hour.... and they were. 40 minutes later, a keeper of the bees knocks on my door... i open my door... he says, "Hi, I'm Marino... I'm knocking off two stars because although they showed up promptly and were friendly and professional when dealing with our bee problem in our case it seemed to be a bit of a bait & switch. We had a pile of bees that had invaded our irrigation valve control boxes. As a buddhist-when-convenient inundated with science news about colony collapse disorder my first inclination was to move the bees as opposed to exterminating them (a risky proposition since they were almost certainly africanized). We looked into a number of live bee removal companies and settled on this one since they appeared to offer live bee removal for around $155, about half the price of what I was quoted from another beekeeper in the valley who offers live removal, maintains hives in the desert, and sells the honey from them (Dan Punch). The buddhist-when-not-convenient side of me regrets that decision. After arriving at our house about 45 mins from the dispatch call the first thing the beekeeper mentioned was that they wouldn't be able to move the bees under certain conditions (if extensive honeycomb was present IIRC). He then promptly demolished and exterminated the hives in the boxes in about 10 minutes. Live removal of bees is a much more involved process and I can certainly see why they prefer to exterminate, but I wish they'd been more up front about their preconditions for live bee removal. Instead, it seems to me that they offer live bee removal for an attractive price with preconditions that almost always result in extermination. Otherwise I would have compared them to extermination companies who charge half as much to just exterminate bees. read more

We had bees swarming under the eves of our house. The first company we called, Mountain View Pest Control, charged us $395 and did essentially nothing. The bees never left and now the company won't return our calls. My bad for not researching them. If I had I would have found their rightfully deserved negative reviews and discovered that they are not BBB accredited. I called The Beekeeper next. Marde-Sue came out, took a look, put on her protective suit and went to work. In less than 15 minutes she was done. She then took the time to explain what she'd done and what I could expect. I had a bee problem recently, and after searching for the 'right' company to handle the bees, I chose The Beekeeper. I was very happy with their professionalism and the handling of the. Sterling, my Bee Guy, was VERY knowledgeable about bees and said his family had started this bee company, and he kept bees as a hobby. I had bees in a concrete wall surrounding my home. They had been there about 2 years. Sterling didn't use 'scare tactics' like the other company I called, and was very up front about exterminating the bees and leaving the hive in the wall, and sealing the wall. I chose to leave the hive in the wall because of the cost, and Sterling said most people do this and don't have a problem. The other company I called (that used the scare tactics) wanted to charge me $395 (a special that day - normally $595!!) to exterminate the bees, and at least $500 - $1200 to take the hive out of the wall. They said I HAD to take it out of the wall or would forever be plagued with problems. I expected to possibly see some melting honey at the base of the wall, but so far - nothing! It has been about 4 days since the bees were exterminated. The Beekeeper Company was here on time, explained what they were going to do, answered all my questions, and gave me a 3 month warranty. Very Professional and Conscientious. When I called, someone answered the phone right away. I asked if someone could be there the next morning and we originally arranged a time between 8AM & 10AM. Then a few minutes later, I got a call asking me if I was available the same day as the call. Instead, we arranged for James to arrive at 7AM. When he arrived on time, we discussed that I hoped to gat some of the honey, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. The moment James tried to block part of the hive entrance, the bees immediately swarmed and attacked. So James had to spray pesticide into the entrance and that killed the bees and poisoned the honey. He had to open up a portion of my retaining wall, but left the area tidy and clean. Because of the type of work, James wasn't able to repair the wall, but did put down odorless pesticide to discourage a new bee hive. He also recommended that I have the expansion gap opening covered with masonry to also keep the bees out, because bees can chew threw foam sealant. Their service was exemplary! We have had bees coming into our home through the chimney the past couple years. We have used The Beekeeper both times and the most recent time was with Russ.
