So last week we had a furry little visitor run through our kitchen and I FREAKED OUT. My husband chased it into our closet I immediately started calling pest companies and although it was getting late I thought it would be easy to get someone out here to help us while my husband stood guard in front of the closet with a racket. After many calls and being told that," someone will call you tomorrow" or "we can try to have someone out there tomorrow afternoon." I was starting to panic I made a call to Custom Weed and Pest Control. I explained what I felt was an EMERGENCY and the woman that answered the phone expressed concern and put me in touch with the Manager. He took my info and as i thought he was going to tell me we will have someone out tomorrow, he said, give me a few minutes and I will find a guy in your area and I will call you back. After about 10 mins he called back and told me no one was available and as I was about to scream he said, " but I will be there in one hour." I was shocked. He showed up at our home at 7:10 pm and he did so much more than any pest control company I have ever seen. He inspected EVERYWHERE, he found the problem areas and then he went to work after about an hour he completed his work and we felt completely confident with him he spoke with knowledge and he was completely friendly customer service was OUTSTANDING. He promised that he would be back the following morning to check on the work he did and make sure the placement of his work was still correct. My husband and I looked at each other and smiled and thought wow someone cares. Long story short he did show up the next day and one more time in order to take away our unwanted visitor and we have had no problems since. We had some bad weeds show up after it rained and I wanted them gone. I found Custom Weed and Pest Control through a quick Google search. I called them and quickly asked how everything works. The price was right and they were out a couple of days later. They treated my front and back yard and that was it. They came by while I was at work so I didn't even see them. But, I knew they were there because, within two days, the weeds were starting to die and dry up. It didn't take long for the rest of them. That first treatment lasted a full year. The next year, around the same time, I called them again and had another treatment. This time, it lasted about four months before some additional weeds showed up, but I gave them a call and they came back out and treated them again -- no charge, part of their warranty -- and both the front and back yard have been clear since. If you're like me and you don't want the hassle of pulling or spraying weeds, then give these guys a call and you won't have to worry about it. They get the job done quickly and efficiently. On a side note, I don't personally know anyone at CW&PC and they didn't give me or pay me anything for this review. I received the name of this co from a referral from (iirc Arizona Weed Guard) who stopped servicing my area (Scottsdale) but otherwise did a fine job for 3+ years. I use their emergent weed spray service so can only speak to that. These guys are definitely professional. My main concern is ensuring a weed free front and back yard. I don't have time to pick weeds daily like my father does, and emergent weed spray keeps the weeds away for 6-8 months. I usually spray in April and November and have a weed free yard year round. I believe they have a free 6 month warranty, but can't confirm as I have never had to make use of it. They keep the weeds away at a reasonable cost (at least for people that have more money then time). I think I asked them to contact me on a schedule which Arizona Weed Guard did. I've only been working with this company for 2 cycles, and asked for the reminder in my November cleanup. I'll update my review if I remember to see if they follow through on their reminders. The weed control company I had been using decided I was too far away for them to service my neighborhood anymore, so I missed my semi-annual preventative spraying. My weeds decided to celebrate by having a real party in the backyard, and they were soon out of control. I went online to find a weed company I thought could help me with my problem, and found Custom Weed & Spray. I liked what they had to say on their website, so I filled in the form to get a quote. I got a call back right away... they were very competitively priced, so I made the appointment. The tech was prompt, friendly but professional and very thorough. He made sure the yard was completely covered, and really doused the big patches. The weeds soon died, and they haven't come back. I'm very satisfied with this company, and have set up a semi-annual service program with them. I thought that I submitted my review when Custom Weed Control came out to our house in late March, 2021 but could not find it. S0 I will resubmit it now. In April 2020 we had another company remove our front lawn in order to put down rock for a look that used less water. However after they SPRAYED what was supposed to be a retardant and put down the new rock, the yard was overcome with weeds. After many calls, emails and and a return visit from this company owner, he told us that he didn't own our yard and he would not help us further. I found Custom Weed & Pest and loved what the reviews were saying. Ryan came out, assessed the problem, and sprayed the front and small side yard. He told us to let him know in the next few weeks if more weeds came up and he would have it sprayed again. That did happen and they did spray again at no cost. We still have a few weeds but we can handle those until it's time to have them out for our twice a year spry! read more

They do a great job, and everyone I've talked with at the office and at my house has been very professional and upbeat (not grumpy like some contractors are!). The person assigned to our account calls and reminds us to unlock the gates or call him back to reschedule, and I really appreciate that reminder! This is an honest and careful company. When I first signed up with them, the owner came out to inspect my house. I had thought we might need some expensive work to seal the house a few years ago after we had a bunch of scorpions all over. I thought they must be coming in all the vents and doors. But the owner inspected the house and said that it was a tightly sealed house already and suggested treating the yard around the base of the house. It took care of the problem very quickly, and we've never had the problem again. I highly recommend them for doing a good job and being honest and careful with my property. read more

We have been using this company exclusively for at least 8 years on two separate properties and continue to be a very satisfied customers. Even though I only speak to Ryan occasionally, he has an excellent memory and can recall specific details about the property and asks all the right questions to assess what needs to be done. I don't feel like I need to walk the job site with him because they have gotten it right so many times. I've never felt deceived or disappointed with Ryan or any of their employees. They are very professional, in and done without a trace or a mess, and the proof of the work they do is in my weed free yard. They also take care of bridal paths for the HOA in the community that I live in, and they take care of weeds in our pasture in addition to regular yard weeds. They are caring and considerate towards people and animals. But man they are mean to weeds:) read more

I am new to Arizona and went out of town for a month over the Thanksgiving holiday. I came home to a large amount of weeds in my newly landscaped yard and was shocked that they grew so fast. I contacted Custom Weed & Pest control based on all the positive reviews on Yelp and they were able to send someone out right away. Paul just left my house, he sprayed all areas where weeds could be a problem and explained that everything was guaranteed for 6 months and to call if any weeds came back. He was very nice and I could not be happier with the service, just wish I had found them before the weeds started. I would highly recommend them to anyone that has problems with weeds or to anyone that wants to prevent weeds from starting. My wonderful experience with Custom Weed & Pest was with Ryan . . . but not performing a weed and pest control service. He is actually an expert (in my opinion) on diagnosing and treating trees and shrubs. He came to my rescue when I had a pine tree that was turning brown. He gave the tree a very thorough examination and determined that it was not "terminal". He educated me on the correct watering needs and treated the ground under the tree with a super duper mixture of stuff that will make the soil, and thereby the tree, healthier and happier:) He took the time to look at all of my plants and gave me helpful hints on caring for each of them. I can't say enough about Ryan's expertise, professionalism and all around "nice guy" mannerism. His rate is very reasonable, but just as important, his knowledge is priceless! read more

I had Custom Weed & Pest Control come out last year for an overgrown yard. The LAST weed co. I had sprayed something that killed my cat. I did everything they told me to do, even waited longer before letting her back out. Would have kept her in forever, but she was unhappy inside. outside cat her whole life. we rescued her and she flourished here. Until the last company sprayed (they even, IN WRITING) said their product was pet friendly. I was very reluctant to try another weed company, needless to say. I still have a dog that still goes out there. Custom Weed and Pest Control was very kind, thorough and careful, My dog is still fine a year later, and the weeds stayed away for a whole year. We've been using Custom Weed since '98. For the last 15 years we've been on an acre in Paradise Valley with a 300 ft long "wash" in the far back. I called Ryan too late the first year and the weeds turned into a forest. Again, we were saved by Custom Weed. I can't believe how effective their spraying is. Over the years it's been a pleasure dealing with Ryan. Polite and as particular about his work as I am. The product they use is so effective, I think they returned only one year for a small "touch-up" which they did immediately like they said they would. Jordan arrived promptly two mornings ago and sprayed my yard. I didn't think they could find an employee as good as Ryan, but they did. I had gotten the name of this company from a very close friend of mine. She suggested but I use them for the emergent weed spray in the beginning of the year in order to avoid fines in the HOA. They did a fantastic job and all the weeds on my large parcel of this property died and have not returned. While I was on the phone scheduling this appointment I just happened to ask if they did pest control for bugs. They did and they were extremely reasonably priced for both the weed and the pest control services. They are punctual and on time and never rush through the job. They make sure that they are thorough and complete before they leave your premises. I truly would not use anyone else. I called Custom Weed & Pest Control after reading lots of local reviews. This past winter (2019-2020) was been the worst year for weed growth since we purchased our home in Sun City West in 2012. I spent a bunch of $$ on industrial strength vinegar, dish soap and epsom salts, and worked hard to spray and kill all the weeds. What a waste of $$ & time. So, I called Custom. Very nice & helpful young lady arranged an an appointment time for the treatment. Now, we haven't actually been to the house since the treatment. However, a neighbor that has been keeping an eye on our property has told me that the grounds look GREAT! That's music to my ears. We have been using Custom Weed & Pest Control to control our weeds for over 10 years. They come to our house twice a year and spray any weeds they find )which is usually none) and then spray the yard with a pre emergent that lasts at least six months. I rarely find any weeds in my yard at all. Every once in a while one will pop up and I pull it. I have lots of plants (flowers and bushes) and they all thrive in our yard. But the weeds never come up. The cost for this service is low and they are extremely professional when they come to spray. And you don't have to be there when they arrive. They can do it all without your presence needed. I highly recommend them. read more

I appreciate how quickly they were able to schedule and treat for weeds. I have 0.6 acres of irrigated lawn. Other companies wanted me to wait until a truck was in the area, which would have been into March. Custom Weed scheduled me within two weeks of my call. They were more expensive than others I spoke with for the same treatment, but Custom Weed warrantees their work. The others did not. If for some reason my weeds insist on growing three weeks from now, Custom Weed will re-treat. The warranty is good for three months. In the business of weeds, that is many lifetimes and worth the extra $40. Glad I found them. read more

After years of fighting weeds and growth in my front yard, I called Custom Weed Control. I had always bought the "stuff" at Home Depot and sprayed mt yard myself. The container of "stuff'" was not cheap (like $45), plus what a hassle to spray my rather big desert yard with my hand held sprayer. So I called them, they sprayed my yard with weed kill plus a pre-emergent and no weeds. I have my yard sprayed every year in January and it is good for 1 year. I pay $140, I do nothing, they are so precise and caring. I recommend them to anyone that wants a weed free yard with no hassle. Well worth the money. read more

We live around a mountain preserve, and the weeds this year have been very bad. Looking out my window four days after having my yard done, I am happy to say the remaining weeds are dying along with a pesky Bougainvillea (we slow burned with gas twice trying to kill) is now also dying. I learned some of the medium sized plants around are really weeds that produce a small weed I hate most. So now I am educated, weed free for months and that monstrous plant is dead! I have been using this company for about three years. Before, I started using them I would buy 2-3 extended Roundups a year. I spent hours "spot spraying weeds", only to have new weeds in a few days later in another spot. Their cost is barely much more than what I was spending on weed killer; besides, what is your time worth. Three of my neighbors are now using them, and they are extremely happy. One neighbor had a jungle in their backyard and they sprayed it twice at no extra charge. I will never go back to the old way of spraying myself. This is a five star company. read more

Custom Weed is an outstanding company we have used them at our prior residence, again at our new residence and even hired them to treat our granddaughter's home. at our current residence we got REALLY tired of spraying the weeds and then digging them out. we had Custom Weeds come out just before the monsoons started. still no weeds in sight. the guys show up on time, do what they say they will do and respectful. cant ask for more than that. an AWESOME all around company. have even recommended them to my REALLY picky sibling, who is just as happy with them as we are. read more
