Thank you Reid and Marcus for an excellent first time experience with Moxie as our exterminating company since their acquisition of Eastern Arizona Exterminators here in Thatcher, Arizona. We had no idea the acquisition had taken place until we got a robo call earlier in the week telling us they would be coming to exterminate on Friday the 22nd. Reid and Marcus easily get 5 stars for the actual service, explaining what they would be doing, what we could expect from them in the future, and answering our questions about Moxie's acquisition of Eastern Arizona Exterminators. Moxie(the company) however severely dropped the ball in our opinion in handling Eastern Arizona Exterminators customers. If the information I was given is correct, the change occurred in October. We were never told a word of any upcoming change in the company until we received a robo-call from a number showing up on the phone as "name unavailable" with a "623" prefix, leaving us a message letting us know they would be showing up on Friday (a few days later) to please leave gates unlocked and everything would be taken care of. Using a phone number that doesn't show up with the business name on caller i.d., is bad for business. I googled the number and it didn't show up as one of their numbers either. Showing up as "Moxie Pest Control" would be better than "name unavailable" but we still wouldn't have known it had anything to do with our exterminating appointment because they never took the time to let us know (since October) of the change. In fact they didn't even tell us of the change in when they called to tell us they wouldn't be doing our house in December because employees were being tested. We shouldn't have had to get on the internet, research, and make phone calls to find out what was going on. I originally thought it was a mistake calling us because there is an address in Chandler or Gilbert with the same street address as ours. I look on their website and see that they have 22 locations across the U.S. and can't help but wonder how does a company this big drop the ball this bad. They obviously had the customer list of EA Exterminators but couldn't print up cards/letters to send out and let us know. We were fortunate that we did not answer the phone because if we see "name unavailable" on caller i.d. and a number we don't know, we block them while it's ringing because they are usually scams. How/why does a company make robo phone calls from a number that isn't a company number when that company has been around for awhile. If it were my company I would have done the visit for free to make up for the time the person(s) had to put in to finding out what was going on. It shouldn't have happened. Over the years I/we have never had a business change that I was a customer of that didn't notify me/us ahead of time. Again Reid and Marcus - excellent service -those in charge could learn from them. We have been customers of Moxie for coming on 3 years now and they have been incredible. We live in an area with a lot of new builds still going on around us and so our neighborhood is plagued by bugs and especially scorpions. We were in the house almost a year before we got pest control and would always come across scorpions, ants, and spiders both inside and out. I don't know what took us so long to find a pest control company but I'm so glad we have them now. It is a crazy rare occasion that we have come across any crawlers but when we do, Moxie is quick to come right back out for free to take care of them. We initially signed up with a really nice "door-to-door" guy 3 summers ago. If you're like me, we get hit up by door-to-door guys all summer long selling everything from pest control, to alarms, to solar, and everything in between. I usually blow them off but we had been seeing a lot of bugs and I figured I would give it a shot. The guy said my neighbor across the street had signed up. I though it was just a tactic and didn't sign up right away. I actually went and talked to my neighbor and he confirmed that he did sign up and had received his first service. He was really happy with the sales guy, the office, and the tech that came out (this neighbor is also still a customer 3 years later and 2 more of our neighbors have signed up). I gave it a shot and I'm so glad I did. We receive service from them every 3 months and in-between when we need it. All of our technicians have been great. I'm usually not home for service but my wife is and being as protective as I am about her being there alone, it makes me feel good knowing its a company I trust. Dean was our technician today and he did not disappoint. In fact, my wife made it a point to call me and tell me how good he did. She knows she can be really picky with her service and she said he went above and beyond to make sure her needs were met. He was thorough with the products but was also super friendly and finished his service with a consultation, letting her know exactly what he found during his inspection, everything he did in detail, and asked what more he could do to help her. Dean has been there a few times and this is the always the case. In fact, this is just what its like at Moxie with all the techs. Moxie is fantastic. I don't know how anyone in Arizona lives without pest control and those that have it, should be with Moxie. read more

I'm very happy with my Moxie service. I too had someone come to my door last year; I usually say "thanks, but no thanks" and close the door. But, I had been finding bugs and gigantic fuzzy grey spiders (yes I know they eat bugs but I do NOT want them INSIDE my house) more and more often for about six to eight months. I had another pest company for five years and I still had bugs (and a contract too). Every day for a week before the Moxie salesman came to my door; I woke up to find ants in my kitchen. The other pest company wouldn't come for at least three weeks, unless I paid more. I was open to the idea of a new company and signed up with Moxie. I am very glad I did. I have had only a handful of bugs inside my home in the last year, most of them of the flying variety, from leaving the patio door open in the nice weather. I am no longer afraid of my back patio (formerly home to black widows and potato bugs), my garage (giant grey spiders, crickets, etc) or my downstairs bathroom (ear wigs, ants and misc bugs). Ewe! I love that they use multiple types of controls, not just sprays but also a powder, it seems to make a big difference. I have been very happy with my service even though I'm generally not home when they come and usually have them simply take care of the outside. Today I happened to be home with a migraine when Shan came, so I still didn't have him come inside, but did open the garage for him. I mentioned that I had seen crickets at my neighbor's house and he put extra powder around mine, just in case. He was very nice and professional and I appreciated his kindness towards me after telling him I had a migraine. Shan said that he would be happy to come back another day to spray the inside at no extra charge if I wished. Between my virtually bug-free home and the customer service provided, I couldn't be happier. I only wish I could get them to spray around the central mailbox for my neighborhood, it tends to harbor lots of spiders when it gets warm. Thank you Moxie and thank you Shan! read more

I am amazed by all the negative comments from people who did not want or use the services provided by Moxie. We have been having a problem with crickets and spiders around the foundation of our house, especially in the back patio area near the pool. The sale person, Chase, was up-front about the services the company performed. He told me that they do not do termite control. I have another company for termites. He answered all my questions and scheduled an appointment time for a technician to come out at my convenience not theirs after thoroughly explaining the contract. The technician, Gordon, arrived at the scheduled time. He reviewed the contact; detailed the different products that would be used around the foundation, landscaped areas, and block privacy walls around the property; and promptly got to work after I assured him that I had no further questions about the services to be provided today. He returned after the application, reviewed what he had found and the services performed. He also told me that I should call if I noticed any pests near the foundation or treated areas. Gordon told me someone from the office would be calling to verify the information I gave the salesman, Chase, the day before. The lady called while the tech was working in the yard. She reviewed the contact information, explained the services contracted, and assured me that a technician would be out ASAP if pests were cited between quarterly service appointments. Contrary to the many negative comments regarding the initial sales contact, I found that the initiative to get out in 110 degree heat to walk door-to-door impressive. I am equally impressed by the initiative of a gardener who walks down the street passing out his business card. I find most of the comments hard to believe when put up against my experience. I will recommend Moxie to my friends and family when they comment about a pest problem. read more

I posted a one-star Yelp review about this company when I was in Dallas Ft Worth at my son's home to visit my invalid father. A Moxie rep came to their door with a pitch that they were in the area "doing work for some neighbors". I told the rep who came to their door that he already had a pest control service and wasn't interested in changing companies, and to please leave. He wouldn't stop talking and I had to ask him 4 times to leave the property. When I finally closed the door in his face he continued talking at through the door and still didn't leave until I told him he was tresspassing UNBELIEVABLY, a Moxie Pest Control rep just showed up at my home here in Gilbert with the identical "doing work for some neighbors" pitch, and was just as reluctant to leave the property as the rep in Texas after I told him I wasn't interested and that he was trespassing. He was still talking when I closed the door. This company uses marketing services and unprofessional reps that should not be in the business. I will never ever use this company and will tell all my friends about their sales practices and suggest that they boycott Moxie. It would seem that Moxie management has trained their sales reps to harangue people at their homes in an attempt to get more business. It's obviously coming from corporate because it's not just local problem, but is a regional or possibly even a national problem. FYI, I later learned from my son that their community bulletin board was "blowing up" with complaints about Moxie reps in the community. read more

We started using Moxie Pest Control 3 years ago after we failed for a year to take care of our own pest control. We were seeing several scorpions a week and had 3 kids including a new baby. Moxie knocked on our door and we signed up. I wasn't sure they could get the scorpions under control with only visiting once ever 3 months. In the past we had used a pest control service monthly and remembered the earwigs would start showing up after 3 weeks. But they said they would come out any time within those 3 months for no charge. I never had them come extra. The first week we found several dead or dying scorpions. And though scorpions showed up occasionally through the years, there were significantly less very quickly and we haven't seen one for over 6 months, no earwigs, crickets, spiders, even in our garage. And all that while new houses were being built down the street and our neighbors complained that the scorpions were worse than ever during that time. We haven't been home when they've come to spray. They let themselves in our yard and do the job and we have peace of mind. And they haven't had to spray inside the house beside the first visit to get the job done. But their chemicals are green and so I wouldn't feel bad if they did spray inside. They call and text before they come and customer service is very kind. I highly recommend Moxie and am only sad they aren't located in the state where we will be moving! read more

Once again I have received great service from Moxie! When I call them with any questions or need to reschedule they are always so very friendly and polite. This weekend Matt came out to service our house and was great.Very friendly and answered the multitude of questions I had (lol). I read over some of the reviews and was sad to hear the less than satisfactory experiences others have had. I am one of those people that doesn,t have other reviews on yelp (I know Moxie uses yelp to track their service thus why I put it on here rather than call the company like I normlly would) and I was introduced to Moxie when a very friendly, respectful gentelman inquired about a year ago if I had a current exterminator, which I did. He didn't try to give me a hardsell but advised what Moxie offered that was different from others. Just based on the service I am so glad I changed. I will share that he did tell me he had just talked to my neighbor (as others have stated) and he let me know that my neighbor was staying with their current providor but shared certain pest concerns my neighbor had and he shared this with me after asking my neighbor if it was ok. All this was confirmed by my neighbor (we are good friends) while I was still talking with the gentleman. So again I hate to hear about any bad reviews but I have had nothing but a great experience with Moxie. read more

We have lived in Arizona for 29 years and have tried many different pest control services over the years. We had wonderful service for years from a sole proprietor business for years in Scottsdale but when we moved north to Anthem the problems began. We quickly went through several services that did not deliver what they promised. Ultimately a salesperson showed up at our front door with a different attitude. We though Moxie Pest Control worth a try and it was one of the best choices we have ever made. The staff is attentive, polite, and cheerful. Yes, I said cheerful. Why does that matter? That cheerfulness results in a can do attitude, a job done right, a determination to please. It is rare thing to find these days. We have three dogs and my husband works from home and cannot have interruptions that can be heard over the telephone. Moxie Pest has managed to coordinate their schedule to adapt to our needs every time. They do the job well. We small dogs and it is important to us to not have any scorpions in our home. We have not seen one since Moxie Pest became our pest control service. Our next door neighbors have had several 5 inch scorpions in the past yeat so we know the scorpions are here.
