Average food. Lackluster service and decor. Felt like a glorified cafeteria. Expected better for a $15 burger.

Pretty good. I loved the atmosphere. It was a hockey themed restaruaunt. So that was cool. My daughter loved. The floor was designed just like and ice rink witht the blue lines and mascot at the center. THe one con was that we requested a booth and they said it would be a wait. There was an available booth open I understand maybe they were understaffed and maybe nobody was covering that section, but like 20 minutes later they seated us in that same booth that had been open since we walked in. It was so weird to me read more

The foods decent, but if you're running low on time, this restaurant is a place that I would not recommend. It took way too long for us to be waited for and took way too long after we asked for the check. read more

The Bears' Den - Sports Bars Near Me - Hershey, Pennsylvania

A sports bar atmosphere inside the Hershey Lodge. Food was very good. Fast and efficient service. The most notable thing about this place was the service. Our waiter, David, was exceptional. When we asked about the soup we were not familiar with, he brought us a taste before we ordered. At one point, my mom's drink needed to be refilled. David was on the other side of the restaurant, but I caught his eye and I pointed to her drink. He shook his head yes and immediately brought her a new drink. He engaged with us in such a personal, yet professional level. If you want to be treated well as a customer, definitely come here. If you're lucky, you might get David as a waiter :) read more

The atmosphere is great. The food is ok. My wings were slightly cold but the salad was great. Slightly on the expensive side.

All food came from a box or can or freezer. Soup was extremely salty, burgers tasted like they came from a mass frozen pack. None of our party were willing to finish the food. The service was great and I will say the fruit was fresh. Everything else was wonderful at this hotel so this restaurant is stands out. I would never eat here again due to the poor food quality. read more

The decor is a hockey rink and sports bar. Televisions everywhere - even one at our table! Our server, Andrew, was fantastic! So good, we went back a second night and he remembered our preferences! Andrew went above and beyond - scored our NHL team broadcast for us. Try the chocolate martinis - excellent! Every food type is covered - the lacto-ovo vegetarian in our group was quite impressed. read more

I was disappointed by this restaurant being in Hershey Lodge. We are a family if four and we're staying here for a 3 day weekend 2 stars because the seating was fast and the pancakes were ok but everything else BLEGH. It wasn't crowded and still the food took years this was the breakfast so imagine how bad dinner is. This place serves breakfast buffet but you had to wait for an omelet if you wanted one which took about 20 minutes longer than it took for our family of 4 to get what we wanted which by the way the omelette was bland and plain. The pastries were bad, there was a limited amount of varieties of food and most were low in quantity or even none at all. I have to say that the only reason we came here was because Fire & Grain AKA the good breakfast buffet was packed and we didn't want to wait a long time. I bet that the only reason why there were more than 2 families their was because it was a Sports bar so everyone could watch the Soccer World Cup. If you want a good breakfast with a variety of options just spend the time waiting for Fire and grain instead, I would just not recommend the bears den to anyone.1 read more

We went to Bears Den when we were heading back to Hershey Park at night. We arrived at 5:30pm and it started to get busy around 6pm. We originally wanted to go to the Hershey Grill which we now know is closed on Sunday nights. Bears Den is a good sports bar, kid friendly and average food. I had the trout sandwich and it was tasty. The kids meals had a lot of options and my wife had a chicken sandwich that was above average. The service was very good considering it was busy. read more

Food was great. Our server Justin was very helpful and even gave us candy and the recipe to a martini.

Horrible service. We got there and our waitress was absolutely horrible. The food was not cooked to what I asked for. Other than the manager taking better care of us, it was terrible service and not so great good. read more

The staff is fantastic. The meals where all fantastic. The pulled pork sandwich is piled high and has slaw on it. The meatloaf is great and the mashed potatoes where creamy. If you have kids the kids burger was huge but was told it was great and was gone within minutes ;). The brownie Sunday and truffle cake were out of this world !!! read more

I was there for a conference this week and they know we are all coming before hand. There seemed to be less workers than normal. Waited over an hour for service. The bartender was so distraught. They couldn't multitask and I feel that is a must with customer service. Food was good though. That is why 2 stars will be given. read more

First time here. I do not eat fast food and would rather have gone to Burger king. Our server was great, and she did a great job. so thats the two stars. our food was below par. my husband order the chicken breast sandwich special which was suppose to be brushed in coco and espresso. for $13.00 it came with a side of chips. it was just a plain chicken breast on a nice bun with lettuce , tomato and onion.. I got the chicken philly cheese steak. all bun less chicken, maybe 2.5 oz of meat some cheese and onion. my kids pulled pork sandwich, the bun was a soggy mess. they couldn't even eat..... and a slice of pizza. the beer was good and cold, all in all we spent $78.00 , not including tip... for that. waist of time and money in my opinion. read more

They are really good but it takes a loooooong time for them to serve our food I also noticed that they gave me less fries on my dish than other restaurants read more

Not a great evening, but not necessarily the restaurants fault either. Decided to grab a bite to eat and had never tried this place. Parking lot was pretty full, but understandably its the convention center and it has several restaurants. On they way back the hallway to the reservation desk, a 2 year old almost took down my wife by grabbing her legs. The adult male who was watching the child didnt even bat an eye at us or the kid. Wait time given to us was 20 mins. It probably was about 15. While waiting, we were close to the small arcade that is attached to the Den. 2 kids probably about 7 or 8, were actually tryng to climb into the one vending type machine. Adult female standing there spoke with the kids about the best way to shake the machine to steal the product. I get that some would say this has nothing to do with the Bear's Den, but it does tie into the atmosphere. Once seated, greeted by a not so friendly waiter (perhaps it was a long day, he answered questions, but was very short) Plenty of options for food and drink. Food ordered and delivered within 10-15 mins which was a plus. While sitting at our table, we had a younger adult female pushing a lady in a wheelchair, and literally hit into my wife while she was sitting at the table. There was plenty of room, but apparently she had trouble "drivng the chair" Food was good, but not great. I gave it a 3, because the food wasn't too bad and there were a fair amount of choice. But waiter was blah, and the atmosphere was not we felt was enjoyable. If my child acted like some of these kids, we wouldn't have stayed long enough to eat. There are truly a lot of other places to eat in Hershey that I would prefer to give repeat business too. read more

I've eaten here a few times over the years and have always been pleased. Great atmosphere, delicious food and good service. Eaten at the bar too and it was great. Highly recommend! read more

About as inviting as dining in your high school gym, only with a monster, fuzzy TV dominating the room. A very good selection of micro-brews on draft, the popcorn was also fresh and good. I had the fish and chips-- the fish was long on batter and grease, short on fish. The chips (french fries) tasted as if they'd been cooked in the same fryer as the fish. The oil was clearly long past time for a change and the fries had soaked p much too much of it. read more

Great restaurant inside the lopdge. The food and atmosphere is amazing. I love how it's all sport themes.

The bears den is a pretty good place to eat, relax, and watch sports. I went there 2 days ago and I ordered a burger medium rare. The burger came with a nice gluten free bun and it was delicious! It had the taste that I wanted. I loved it. The burger was cooked just right for me and the fries that came with it were nice and crispy. The room we were in was large with a ton of tables. There was a bar close to where we were sitting that served drinks. It also had a ton of TVs. Some had sports on and some tennis or snowboarding/skiing. One of the TVs was huge and big hanging over the bar. It was a sports TV. There weren't many decorations but there were hockey equipment hanging. There was definitely really good service. The waitress that served us our food was constant at our table and asked us how the food was. She was really nice and worked well with not only serving us, but serving others as well. The room was really loud though and the floor was a little dirty. Overall, it was a nice place to hang out but some things needed to be worked on. read more

Appetizers are good and ok selection of beer. Waiter didn't know much about their liquor selection. Spent about $80 between 4 ppl on appetizers and drinks. read more

This review is for the atmosphere alone. We were here on a Sunday afternoon to watch football. Being a sports bar, we expected an over 21 environment. The 'bar' is family friendly and although there were only a few tables full, two of them had very shrill children. Hershey might consider dividing the space into a separate bar and family dining area. read more

Undecided about to eat while at the resort and with a two year old who's bedtime was nearing, we wanted something quick. There was no wait, however, the hostess said we could go to the bar to order food for takeout. We go by the bar and tell the girl that we want to order to go. She was not pleasant at all. I ordered a meal for my daughter from the kids menu and then my friend ordered. She took the menu and walked away. Common sense there are 3 people so you're most likely going to get 3 orders!! When I said excuse me I still have to order and need the menu back, she grabs the menu and just throws it rudely on the bar and turns to walk away. By then my blood was boiling. I called her over and told her to cancel the order and walked out. She was beyond nasty and rude!!!!! Hershey needs to step up their game when it comes to hiring. I noticed even in the park a lot of the employees are miserable. read more

the food was pretty good. it was that expensive. i think we came at a bad time bc the wait was outrageously long. we waited 1 hour.

My friend and I went there on a Thursday afternoon. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes. We left and came back and said it would be soon. Another waitress then began to sit another 2 person group who had just walked in.. I got the mozzarella and tomato sandwich than included chips. The menu said I could add a side salad on for $3. My meal came and it did not have chips. I asked the waiter and he said that the salad was a substitution for the chips. The menu said ADD, not substitute. I had to ask him about it twice, then asked for a manager. The waiter told me that some of the managers think it's a substitution and some thing it's an add on. Makes no sense to me why the managers don't agree with each other. Thankfully the manager agreed with me and gave me chips and took off the price of the salad for the confusion. Also had to ask the waiter every time I wanted water. read more

Great experience here. Late dinner. The server was michele she was great dealing with our party. Kept everyone happy. Awsome martinis

I went to the bears den twice cuz i live in the area and it was a very bad experince.....Noone was waiting at the host stand and the only one hostess was busy around but he was texting behind the register 10min finally someone came u to seat me(i think his name was eddy and when he did seat me he didnt say anything or even apoligze and was checking his cell phone while walking us to the table) .my friend and i ordered a cheesesteak and it came in 40min and was very cold so i just paid my bill without eating anything and left...i would reccomend this to ne one read more

Don't be fooled by the look when you first walk in... First let me start off by saying that I have never written a review on anything in my entire life, but just had to after eating (I guess you can call it eating) at the Bear's Den. So my wife, daughter, and I walk in for dinner to be greeted .... by no one. We wait for a good five minutes before someone approaches us, and she simply says "Hold on, be right back." I'm thinking OK, maybe it's busy, but it's pretty easy to see the entire bar/restaurant when you walk in, and it was clearly not. So she walks us over to the table and my wife asks politely if we can sit in one of the 3 booths that were wide open, because we have a toddler ( and it's just easier) and you could just tell that the hostess was not not too happy about that request. I mean, thinking back, it was a difficult request (sarcasm). We ultimately arrive at our booth and it reeks of stale beer, but hey - it is a bar too, so we can deal with it. We sit down and our waiter walks up, does not say hello, does not offer a booster seat or high chair, and asked what we want to drink. I got a beer, my wife got a mixed drink, and our daughter was fine with the apple juice we brought in a sippy cup. The drinks come and I pour my beer into the glass supplied for me and begin to drink. I think to myself, what is that smell/taste? The glass smelt exactly like raw meat...Delicious. I ask for another glass (without saying why) but you could just tell this waiter knew why. The second glass arrives, and it is worse (on purpose? who knows, but wow)...Luckily I did not pour my drink into it, just gave it a quick wiff and drank the remainder of my beer from the bottle. Next beer was just bottle. Our food arrives from our charming waiter and we dig in (you have to remember, IT didn't all hit me until we had to pay our overpriced bill how truly horrible this place is). The burger was awful (almost old, wait .... No it was definitely old) the fries were obviously fried in oil that was used for maybe 5 too many batches (just brown and burnt), and my pickle had teeth marks in it (yup-i know) I luckily don't eat pickles, so I noticed it upon arrival of the bill. Which brings me to the bill - One burger, One salad, One slice of pizza (kids), 2 beers, One margarita...that's it. BONUS: 2 glasses that smelt like they housed goldfish, fries that tasted like they were cooked in valvoline, and one pickle leftover from the lunch crowd that was just nibbled enough = $55. Take this for what it worth, but also understand that I signed up for yelp just for this review. If you are in Hershey, PA and stay at the Hershey Lodge, stay away from the Bear's Den. It may look like a halfway decent sports bar, but ..... (well just re-read what I wrote above). If you do go in, I wish you luck and a much better experience than our's. read more
