Perfect pizza for the 4 of us! Quick service and quaint restaurant. We would go back again!

The ambiance is nice on the dining room side. The service was great. The food that we had was average. I had a full caprese salad for dinner. It was good with thick slices of tomatoes and mozzarella. The basil could have been fresher but it was fine. The balsamic glaze was generous and delicious. My friend had the linguini with clams in the white sauce. She said the clams were delicious but the sauce was tasteless. For dessert, she had the lava cake. Small serving, high price. Sorrentos is a local favorite restaurant in Hershey. We made a reservation on their website, definitely recommended- it was very busy. Seated right away and asked if we needed a gluten free menu which we did. The ambiance of the restaurant was great- it smelled amazing as soon as you entered. Our little 2 person table was perfect and in a nice warm area. I ordered gluten free crab tortellini Alfredo, my husband had the lasagna and we finished with chocolate lavender cake. Everything tasted great and was nice and fresh. The best part for me as someone who is gluten free was the pre meal bread- they brought me gluten free bread and him regular bread. It's so nice for a restaurant to not just skip the pre meal bread for the gluten free person. Much appreciated! Highly recommended! read more

Had been a year or two since our last visit. Lady at the front door, after entering, made sure everyone in the party understood that we could not order from the "pizza" side when sitting on the "restaurant" side by verbally agreeing that we understood. A bit overbearing if you ask me. A $35 dinner plate did not include any dinner salad. Charging $3 extra for a plate with olive oil for bread seemed absurd (butter was free). Never saw this at any other Italian restaurant. I don't have an issue paying $$ for a dinner experience, but this place doesn't warrant the $$ for the experience we had. To get to the bathroom you make a hike through the bar area, around the pizza ordering area down a back hall, behind the kitchen. It was disgusting, not clean with no paper towels or air driers forcing you to leave with wet hands. A lot of other Italian restaurants to eat in the area that are much more welcoming with better priced food and overall experience. Will not be back. read more

Authentic Italian Gem in Hershey, PA Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior that makes this trattoria look more like a casual pizzeria -- once you step inside, you're in for a delightful surprise! The charming bar area, complete with reserved seating, gives way to a bustling dining room that was completely packed by 5 PM on a Saturday. And judging by the long line at the pizza takeout counter on the other side, they're clearly doing something right! We kicked off our meal with the meatball and garlic bread appetizer ($8). While the three meatballs were on the smaller side, they were packed with flavor, and paired with the garlicky, buttery bread, it was a great start to the meal. One of my dinner companions ordered the soup of the day, a Manhattan clam chowder, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For mains, two of us opted for the veal parmesan with spaghetti -- a solid 4 out of 5 stars! But the real standout for me was the chicken piccata served over creamy risotto. Absolutely delicious! To round off my meal, I enjoyed a house Bourbon Old Fashioned that was mixed to perfection. If you're a fan of classic cocktails, give it a try! Service was warm and friendly! And, our waitress was extremely helpful answering our questions about the area A couple of pro tips: Definitely make reservations, as this place fills up fast! It's been several years since my husband and I have eaten here. it's exactly the same as before. sort of dim, lack luster, and VERY TIRED. I ordered their eggplant parmigian. It's not like eggplant parm I have ever had. It's more like an eggplant casserole where all the ingredients are cut up, mixed together then put into a container or casserole dish to bake. It was tasteless! My dinner came with a side of pasta that was so al Dante I could hardly chew it. This meal was 24.00. Food was tasty and light, no after dinner heart burn like I normally would have after an Italian meal. We had margarita pizza that is made with homemade dough and mozzarella cheese- my husband was skeptical as he usually prefers red sauce with it, but we were both blown away with the pizza. The meatball with spaghetti and vodka penne pasta that has homemade penne were cooked perfectly and delicious! Tiramisu was amazing, tastes just like the one back at home in Boston. Tiramisu was also made in house. Our waiter was also great! Will definitely be back again when we go to Hershey Park next summer! read more

Ate here tonight, was very so so. Server was pleasant but totally indifferent and uninterested in our experience. Seemed like she was focused on what time she could go home. Food was meh. I had the veal Marsala. This is not a crazy risk in an Italian restaurant. Once piece of veal, served over an enormous mound of rice, with a very tasteless watery sauce. If I had not known I ordered a Marsala, I sure would not have known from the taste. Completely flavorless. Very disappointing, especially considering the very modest piece of veal was partially grizzle. Really? Cocktails were small and filled with chunks of fruit, making them even smaller. Bread was stale. This place has fallen down a deep hole, used to be far better. Maybe time for some changes! read more

We had a lovely, quiet dinner here which is just what we needed after a day of noise and excitement in Hershey Park. Making our 8:30 reservation was tight after the 8 pm park close, but we did it & it was worth the hurry. We enjoyed the caprese, chicken caesar salad, & ravioli. My kids devoured the cheese cake & I adored the tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was decadent & very rummy. The food was worlds away from the unappealing park food we'd eaten for lunch and it only cost $17+tip more (total for the 3 of us) than our park lunch. Well worth it. Great service that was attentive without overdoing it. 5/5 recommend! read more

From the parking lot, we were underwhelmed because the restaurant is wedged between a Subway sandwich shop and a gas station. We expected hard tables and chairs, and maybe even a counter from which customers place their orders. Imagine our surprise when we were greeted by a hostess and taken to a very comfortable and quiet booth! The menu included those things you expect at a nice Italian restaurant. The food itself is what ultimately underwhelmed us. It started with my Caesar salad, which was practically dripping with dressing. Salads are an extra charge, so when the waitress eventually took my uneaten salad back to the kitchen I told her about the drenched lettuce, and expected to have it removed from our bill. But in the end we ended up paying for it. Next was my entree, which was chicken piccata on a bed of risotto. Here too it was drenched in lemon sauce. Don't get me wrong, I love lemons and capers and risotto, but this was excessive, causing the risotto to puff up like little sponges. My wife's meal was better. She ordered a garden salad and asked for the dressing ON THE SIDE, which was a good idea. She also ordered the eggplant parmigiana, which she said was okay tasting and at least wasn't drowning in sauce. She said she wouldn't order it again. For dessert we split an order of 2 cannolis, which we devoured straightaway. Overall, the ambiance was nice, so we're willing to give it another try. Next time we'll try something that is less likely to be drenched in sauce, like a pizza. read more

If you go there before 4 o'clock, expect to have no management there and nothing but teenagers. Also we went. We ordered four items two of them came out wrong. Apparently they don't know the difference between mozzarella and feta cheese and they don't know their own lunch specials. The food quality is below average at best. It was supposed to be freshly grilled chicken on top of the salad it was cold, sliced chicken breast. Their special was supposed to be a warmed wrap and again it came out cold without the roasted red peppers that it was supposed to have, and it came in a hoagie and not a wrap. When this was brought to the staff's attention, they did not remake the salad to put the proper cheese on. They did, however, remake the wrap, but again it was cold and not warm. The staff was complaining about the people in the Koch section so loudly that you could hear it in the restaurant. We will never be back. They do not know how to make good Italian food. Nor do they understand customer service. Then to make matters worse, their bathrooms are less than desirable. Luxx are broken on the stalls no toilet paper. It's dirty again. I've been dining in the restaurant or ordering "take out" from Piazza Sorrento for many years. I appreciate the gluten free (GF) options. Last week I ordered the GF Mediterranean pizza (take out) for the first time and it was outstanding! The crust was thin and perfectly crispy and the toppings were excellent. I was sharing the pizza with a friend and we both agreed that it might be the best pizza we've ever eaten. And we are between 75 and 80 years old! Looking forward to ordering it again! read more

We made a reservation for dinner on a Thursday evening. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, though we did not mention that. Our server Kristin was superb! Kind, friendly, and just the right amount of attentive. It wasn't too busy and there were a couple of families there in addition to the other guests, but the kids were well-behaved and the noise level was moderate. We started with their Fried Calamari. By "spicy marinara" they mean that they put chili flakes on their marinara sauce, so you can ask for it without. We will do that next time, as neither of us wanted them. We just pushed them to the side of the dish. We each also ordered a glass of the Chianti (Dorati). It was DELICIOUS, so we will definitely get it again. My husband got the Grilled North Atlantic Salmon & Spinach Risotto and I got the Linguini & Clams with the white wine sauce. Both were delicious and we would order them again, though we want to try other dishes too since this was our first time eating here. All of their pasta is made in-house and you can tell it's fresh. I'm sensitive to onion and garlic and there was a lot (in my opinion) garnishing the top of my pasta so I spent a few minutes picking them off. I asked Kristin if it can be ordered without and she said it can be customized to my liking. Since we were celebrating, we also went for dessert. My husband had Creme Brûlée (not a regular dessert item) and I had the Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake. I'm not GF but I often want the GF option because it's often a lighter choice. The Creme Brûlée was served in a regular ramekin so it had less of the Brûlée than when it's served in the traditional dish, but it hit the spot anyway. My cake was delicious, and served with a generous portion of whipped cream. (So often there's just a little dollop and not enough for your whole dessert - this was just right!) read more

I had battled flat out food poisoning from a previous dining experience and I was feeling very light and hungry. Butt!! I didn't want to aggravate my stomach. And I needed something satisfying as I gained my sea legs. Since I was close to Philly, I thought about having something like a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and this steak hogie came up as the best in Hershey. My hoagie was soft and warm, the bread wasn't too crunchy and it complimented the thinly sliced beef and fresh lettuce, raw onions and tomatoes. This is a very nice Italian restaurant to go to in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Easy access, nice decor, and a great staff. The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, as well as being very nice. I ordered the Pasta Pomodoro, which was very good, but the pasta was not al dente as I had hoped. They do make their pasta fresh on site, so I did not think I would need to ask or request for that. This place is worth EVERY single 5 stars. My husband and I came here while visiting everything about Hershey. We saw the restaurant as a recommendation. You need to make reservations online!! All the workers were so kind and Izzy was absolutely wonderful. We order the Bruschetta... omg heaven!!! Then we order the Italian Sampler and the Parmesan Chicken. It also comes with spaghetti. The meatballs are homemade AND they make the pasta fresh in house. We also saw their pizza selection. We both agreed we need to try the Four Cheese and Meat Lovers pizza... HOLY #%?! GUYS the pizzas ARE WORTH IT!! The atmosphere was quiet and not so loud that you couldn't hear anyone. Family friendly. We are from Ohio. If we have to get any great Italian food, we would have to drive 2 hours away. Hershey,PA you guys are very lucky to have this restaurant local. Let me tell you a story about being at home in a strange land... My wife and I always have difficulty deciding on a resturant while we are on the road. Often times we do not know where we are going until 5 minutes before we walk into an establishment. We had been at Hershey Park all day and were worn out. We were looking for a place to have supper (Yes, supper, I am and always will be a Southerner). My wife was doing her normal research on the phone while I was driving and we passed Piazza Sorrento. I said, "we are stopping here". We went in an and the hostess was a beautiful Italian grandmother told us If we don't have a reservation, we can't be seated. I asked if I could use the restroom and she graciously said "Of course". My lovely tired wife standing by the door must have had a very tired and sad look on her face (Her sad face gets me too). Mama, without asking spoke to one of her servers and asked if she could take two more people. When I came back my wife was happy again sitting at a two top to the side of the bar. It was a little crowded but it worked. Our server came to greet us with a million dollar smile with an attitude and personality to match.She brought us water and menus. The crowd around us was loud and friendly. I normally do not do loud but somehow this was different. Every one was extremely happy and in good moods. You could see almost everyone in the place knew each other and were regulars. We felt welcomed into the fold like we were family immediately. Had this been a different time and era I am quite sure we would have been hugged by the hostess and server. Our server was very attentive even though she had multiple other tables.She truly seemed to be happy we were there. Food? Oh yes, there was food! My wife had the cheesy Baked penne and I had the trio. Delicious is an extreme understatement. The trio was Lasagna, Alfredo, and Chicken Parmesean. The freshly made pasta was very light and salted to perfection with the perfect amount of Ricotta cheese between the layers. The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful. The pièce de résistance however was the alfredo. Never in my life have I had better! I could subtly taste the pasta, butter, and garlic. I have vowed to never insult this meal by attempting to make my own again. The reason they were so full was a wedding reception in one of the back rooms. I feel if we had gone to the room we would have been welcomed as if we had known them all our lives. We got our ticket and it was quite reasonable for the quality of the food and atmosphere. As we were leaving I wanted to thank our "new grandmother" (for the record, she was likely no more than a year or two older than my wife and me). She was busy taking care of others with her personal touch so we left without saying good bye. When my wife and I are looking for a vacation place again Hershey will be in the consideration because of Piazza Sorrento in addition to all the other wonderful attractions in the area. read more

Dining in by myself today. Sitting at a bar top this time. Still a enjoyable experience! Started with the bruschetta. It was not their best but certainly not bad. It's not exactly tomato season now. Then house salad with peppercorn ranch dressing. Nice step up. The dressing was full, tangy with just the right amount of bite from the black pepper. Bolognese Pappardelle paired with glass of Sangiovese. This dish was everything I remembered it to be. The noodles were freshly made and you could tell; al dente perfection. The sauce had just the right amount of sweetness and savory taste. The portion was perfect filling and able to be completed with an average appetite. I can eat this time and time again. Never had Sangiovese wine before but it paired beautifully with this dish! Wrote the name of the wine down so I can scout it in the wine and spirits Finished my meal with creme brulee. Oh yeah! Perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess under "burnt" sugar shell. Even the blueberry garnish were perfect. Left this meal with complete satisfaction. One of my favorite spots in Hershey for some good Italian food. Many gluten free options and one of the spots that offer COKE instead of Pepsi. I would recommend them to take care of the mold ceiling issue in bathroom though. Not pleasant to see and wonder what learks in the kitchen. read more

What I loved most is we were able to enjoy dinner with best friends who have celiac, safely! What a joy and relief to be able to have Italian food together. It doesn't get better than this. We were in Hershey for the park and a gymnastics competition in Harrisburg. Chose this restaurant off the reviews here and was so happy I did! The people are really sweet. Seems like a bunch of nice local kids and some long timers. We had a variety of foods - my husband had sausage cannelloni, son had fish and chips, daughter had ravioli with vodka sauce and I had the spinach/goat cheese/apple salad and fried revioli appetizer. Everyone loved everything. Not a loser in the bunch. I actually finished the salad this morning and it was still great. The only thing I will say is that I had to work hard for that salad. The presentation, where the aplles are laid sliced over the top, is lovely but I would rather they were already cut up for me. This did not seriously detract from the overall experience. My friends and I made reservations to come here after Hershey Park. At first we were all skeptical and sus about the place because of the location (it was next to a gas station literally), but I must say this was a hidden gem! We were all blown away by the quality of the food, the pricing, and the serving size. Our server was also just as wonderful and attentive to accommodating our party of 6. We all started out with the complimentary bread and butter, which the bread was so soft and yummy! We also ordered the calamari, which I loved, but to some of the people in our party, it was a bit too salty -- something to keep in mind. Pictured below is the steak and bleu cheese Alfredo. I'm not one to go out of my way for bleu cheese, but I love steak with my pasta so I went ahead and took a chance with this dish. Needless to say, this was the best pasta I have ever had in my life and I'm not even trying to be dramatic. It was life changing. The bleu cheese was actually so subtle that I hardly tasted it, which was surprising! The pasta itself was homemade, so you already know this spot is an authentic cuisine place. The server even accommodated to my order when I requested the steak to be done medium rare. Everything came out as exactly as I wanted, if not then even better! The serving size was pretty decent as well, I was able to take some food home for the next day. And it still tasted as good the next day. Our sever was honestly the best. She even made sure to remember that it was one of our friends birthday, so towards the end of the night she added a little candle on top of a slice of cake, how nice! No working air conditioning when it was nearly 100 degrees outside. Food was bland and overpriced. The hostess, Vanessa, was the only good part of our experience. She was friendly and cheerful. Our waitress seemed as if she would have preferred to be anywhere but working at the restaurant. She was inattentive and very monotone in her limited interaction with us. Disappointed to say the least. We live out of town, but certainly would not recommend to anyone passing through or staying long term. read more
