The parking can be a bit of a challenge because most of the parking spots are taken by people going to the gym (which is in the same building). This place would CRUSH IT if they were just not quite so stingy with the pours for cocktails. My husband and I both had an Old Fashioned and it was the smallest drink of that type I have ever had. The drink was excellent, and normally we would have ordered a second round. But I was really so disappointed by the drink size I did not want to spend another $16 for such a skimpy drink. read more

I've only been to Bantam for dinner and have never had to wait to be seated, but I heard it's quite busy during the weekday lunch hour. There are tables available inside and outside or seating at the bar. Service is always friendly, and the bathrooms are clean! The Pimento burger and fried chicken burger are delicious. The shrimp & grits are great on a cooler day. The hush puppies and cowboy nachos are the perfect bites with your drinks. They offer tacos on Tuesdays. We stopped here traveling from Seattle to Sacramento. We got the brisket burger and nashville hot chicken. I am from Nashville and while the chicken sandwich was very good, we will pass on it when we visit again. The chicken sandwich was very spicy but not flavorful enough for us. On the other hand, the brisket burger was by far an amazing burger. We opted for the Cajun files which were delicious as well. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant. read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp on our road trip. The location is a bit odd as it seemed like a construction/ car repair area. But once there, they have plenty of parking. The inside of the place was cute. But we opted to eat in their outdoor area which was basically a park picnic set in the direct sun on a patio. It was 90+ degrees and it was honestly a bit miserable. But it was our choice and we were grateful for the outdoor space. As for the menu, they had some selection, but I personally wished they had some sort of a grilled chicken. At the end I got the fried chicken sandwich and my husband got the pulled pork. I'm not a personal fan of fried foods, but it was ok. My husband enjoyed his pulled pork. A hidden gem, 5 minute drive from our hotel south side of Redding. Greeted with friendly welcome and the food was exceptional. Having lived and vacationed in the south, it felt like I was there. The best of both worlds with local craft beer, I would recommend the Eel River blonde ale. The fried green tomatoes with dill and hot sauce was a great way to start. First time here last night. Food was amazing. We were meeting friends and was able to get a table for 5 without an issue, even though it was Friday night and they were busy. We were greeted by the owner who was waiting tables and running the bar area. The restaurant itself isn't too fancy just a nice place with great food. I had the blackened shrimp po boy with the side salad. Beautiful and tasty! I also recommend the fried green tomatoes as the appetizer or the cowboy nachos. To finish it off we had the butterscotch pudding with white chocolate ganache and also the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. Heavenly. We went with the special, which was a play on poutine with little fried grits cakes, savory shredded braised beef and the most flavorful gravy I've ever tasted. Stopped by this place for a late lunch. Cowboy Nachos. The chips used is not the typical tortilla chips used in taqueria. It's not bad...just different. I did enjoy it however. I liked the sauce they used. It would have been better if they included more pieces of jalapenos. There was only 3 pieces of jalapenos. Carolina Cuban. This very good. The proportion of the meat, buns and sauce was just right. No complaints! BBQ Brisket Burger. The burger patty was way overcooked. Come to think of it, the waitress didn't even ask us how we want the burger cooked when the order was taken. It's very unfortunate. Lastly, fries came with the cuban and burger. We stopped at this restaurant on the last day of our family vacation. There were 6 of us and we were seated pretty quickly. We had two different servers and they were both friendly. The food was ok, nothing to brag about. The reason why I gave it 3-stars is because one of our fried chicken sandwhiches had a noticable long hair inside of it. The server even commented "eww, that's gloss, let me have them make you a new one" and she immediately took it away. There was no credit given for that gross messup by the kitchen. read more

Husband chose the pimento burger and while I didn't taste it, he said he wasn't disappointed at all. We chose side salads and they give a generous serving of that as well. Served with a peach vinaigrette. Will definitely be back! Patio isn't large at all, but it was nice sitting outside for dinner. The building is rather nondescript and the restaurant is in front of a gym. People were running around the building, which was kind of weird, but the music they were playing from the gym was fun!
