Coming from Kenmore, I needed to find a new go-to spot, and I was excited to discover The Bagel Jar's Hamburg location.

Headed to the counter and showed the app, they said have a seat we'll get your bag ready. The place is cute inside kinda homey with little kiosk with stuff for sale. She brought my bag over and had a cup for coffee. She let me to the coffee station & I had the coffee of the day. I normally don't drink flavored coffee but it was real good, a nutty and creamy flavor combined. My bag had a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and slice of blueberry crumble pie. The table by me had sandwiches that looked good, will definitely be back.

For those who have never been, there's two entry points; the front (from the street), is wheelchair friendly, while the back (from the parking lot) has some stairs. There are two single bathrooms available in this place. If you're dining in, you can order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table. Regardless you need to order at the counter anyway. They always have a great selection of baked goods and coffee, plus specialty drinks on rotation. They offer light breakfast and lunch if you don't want just a coffee and pastry. They sell gifts and ground/bean coffee along with flavored syrups. For this particular trip, I ventured in to get lavender syrup (Torani). I treated myself to a specialty rotating drink (Hansel and Gretel frozen coffee - frozen coffee with gingerbread and white chocolate). I also purchased a blueberry muffin and a pumpkin cream cheese muffin (also a rotation dessert specialty). All were excellent, as par for course here. I don't hear at all but speak well, so the kind lady at the front grabbed a pad and writing utensil to communicate with me, which was very helpful and so we both were on the same page. It was very appreciated. Another reason I love this place, they're so accommodating

There's the classic bar and stools, benches, table and chairs. Food: There is a wide selection of foods to eat for breakfast, lunch.and dinner. They also have pickup and delivery, although I have never used them. It has all the basics which are good to very good. They also have specials, which I always took a look at if not a second. Service: unless it's really crowded with a line of people waiting, the service is quick, food comes quickly and hot. Drinks like coffee tea and soda are refreshed quickly. We never feel rushed as if they needed the table.

I arrived at 10:30 on Monday, and the place was packed. I was seated quickly and my drink order taken. The waitress told me all meals were available at all times; I wasn't restricted to breakfast at 10:30! My BLT arrived with amazing speed: The waitress explained the bacon was already ready for the breakfast orders. It was so good! Extra mayo, just as I had requested. Another touch I liked: My fries earned me a bottle of malt vinegar. Yes, chef! I wouldn't have known to ask for it if it hadn't arrived without my asking. The sole misfire was the coffee: it tasted burnt and bitter. I'd return for their extensive dinner menu: The portions were generous!

Anyways, after a rough morning (burnt my toast, tore my pants, dog threw up on rug) I needed a break from reality. After driving aimlessly for about 35 minutes, lo and behold, I stumbled upon this Timmy Ho's. There are many TH's'z's'z out there and they may seem the same...but I'm here to tell you, all Ho's are NOT created equal. I walked in...pondered my options..and when prompted (courteously, professionally) I cleared my throat and wistfully said "hot chocolate s'il vous plait". To which the barista responded "whaaa?". Turns out that only works in Canada. But I digress. After paying a reasonable price and a prompt directive to pick up my purchase "over there"...I patiently awaited my hot cocoa Le HoHo. When my drink was called out, I looked left..looked right....no takers....so it was surely mine! ''Twas indeed the birthday boy's delight. The drink was radiant...it was quixotic and beguiling. Cocoa delight with sugary might. You wish your girlfriend was hot like this! Well. In summary, my birthday gift to myself was a cathartic ode to midlife crisis. Tim Horton - you are my "yeah yeah". Viva La Canada and here's to dead hockey players! Bon chance mon Ami !
