There was even a small wait on a Wednesday night, which honestly told me everything I needed to know before we even sat down. Our server, Jenny, was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and always seemed to show up right when we needed something. The head chef also stopped by our table and was incredibly kind and genuinely invested in making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. That level of hospitality really made the experience feel special. The meal started with a complimentary amuse-bouche of roasted golden beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic. It was a classy little bite that got the evening off to a great start. Then came the sweet potato biscuits with apricot jam...listen, I could've eaten an entire basket of those and been perfectly happy. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. These are the kind of crab cakes people are looking for. Our waitress - wish I could remember her name - will not be soothed. She insists on buying me a beer (just me, not my husband) and though I assure here it's fine and we get it, the beer appears in seconds. So I have to drink it of course. I'm a lightweight and quickly get tipsy. Our food arrives - it's pretty good! Nothing above and beyond, nothing that stands out, but good. They forgot our lumpia. It's fine, turns out our meals are huge anyway. The possibly not sober waitress kindly and happily takes our picture. We eat, another staff member brings us the bill.
