Stopped by The 908 and had a fantastic experience. The salmon was cooked perfectly, super tender, flavorful, and topped with deliciousness that tied it all together. Paired it with roasted asparagus and broccolini, which were grilled just right. Great food, nice atmosphere, and solid service.

This has always been a solid 4 stars for me here. Food and drinks are consistently good. But nothing that really makes me crave to come back. The Raised by Wolves cocktail is a tried and true cocktail. If you like a bit of spice, order this one! I also tried the ube cocktail this time. I was hesitant when I saw it come out as a candy blue looming drink. But it tastes creamier than it looks. And not as sweet as it looks. It's decently balanced. Looks like melted snow cone. The last time we came here, what made me take a star away was just the over all price and service. Cocktails are $18 and that is really steep for an every day kind of cocktail. If I'm paying $18, I'd like it to be a special occasion but this isn't exactly that. It's elevated but not that much. And service from Daniel was good. He checked in on us just the right amount of time. But mannnn that personality is a flat line. Hostess was cheerful. Ambiance is pleasant. I just can't really justify the cost here for what it is. It's a love hate here. Maybe I need a second job to support my wants.

Stumbled on this place as I was in the area and the menu looked great! A lot of things I wanted to try. Ended up going for happy hour - got the black muscles and the poke wraps. All appetizers are $4 off-Whoo hoo!!! Muscles weee delish-in a garlic lemon sauce. The poke wraps were tricky to eat, as the wasabi inspired sauce was really runny...so they got really messy...but they were solid. It came with rice with soy sauce. All pretty basic ingredients. The dining room was nicely decorated- dark walls w oversized brightly painted art systematically placed. The dessert was disappointing. We love tiramisu..so we thought the pistachio tiramisu would be a fun take. Pistachio overload. No layers of flavors like tiramisu at all. The only nod to tiramisu were the ladyfingers. (Not smoked i. Espresso and served in. A cup. Definitely avoid that if you are craving a tiramisu. After we told the server this...he did say a lot of people expect it to be like tiramisu. (Knowing this, Not sure why he didn't give us a heads up)

Came again for lunch and was seated on the dog-friendly patio. Mel was the waitress and did an excellent job with my order. I had a Cold Brew and the 908 Burger, which were both very satisfying.

No issues parking in the adjacent lot. Indoor & outdoor seating available (low tops, high tops, bar and booths). Nice ambiance and perfect for a family or friend meal. Good spot for groups. Service was very friendly including our server and the hosts. I was impressed that when they brought all of our food out, there were multiple servers and they knew which dish belonged to whom in our party of 5. They have a wide variety of menu options. I ordered the lamb burger because it's not something you normally see on a restaurant menu. It was delicious! Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food. Looking forward to going back!

First time here which was great. I've walked by a few times while at the hangers. It was still pretty early when we stopped by which also happened to be happy hour. The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

Visited here again and WOW, great service and food. I think they changed the food and drink program since I last visited. The sweet potato and black bean tacos were delicious and packed with flavor. I also had the garlic French fries and awwww mannnn. These are a must for garlic lovers. Super garlicky and crisp fries. They had the big screens on so you could enjoy some sports while dining in. Great service, food and energy.

Hands down the best calamari I've ever had. The breading-to-squid ratio was spot on, and it was so incredibly tender. I was in Long Beach for a bit and asked Gemini for a local recommendation. Even though I've been to LBX dozens of times, I had no idea this gem existed. I'm so glad I found it--the food across the board is amazing. Beyond the food, the service was top-tier. Huge shoutout to Nate and Sam for taking such great care of me. Highly recommended! A++

We came here as a bigger party, 8 people, and received great service! We had a 5pm reservation so it wasn't super busy, but Thu, our server was very attentive and superrrr nice! I got the so much drama and loved it! We also got old fashions and the cold brew martini, both of which were delicious! Food wise everyone loved their dishes, except for my one friend who got the lobster roll and said it was only ok. The picanha is my personal favorite! Highly recommend!

We come for lunch a couple of times a year. Today the patio was packed but we got the last open table. Our waiter was attentive and heeded our request- in the past appetizers were delivered along with the entree and it was just too many food items to eat all at once- we asked for it to be brought a fair amount of time ahead of our lunch items and it was perfect. The poke salad bowl was so good. Delicious combination of flavors, and the pickled vegetables had a kick! There was a glaze on everything but a dipping sauce would have been nice. The steak salad was delicious, the beef cooked perfectly and my balsamic vinaigrette on the side as requested. My only complaint was the caramelized walnuts were whole and so hard I almost broke a tooth biting it.

Food was great. We ordered the picanha steak entree and prime rib. I will say the steaks were cooked really well and the sides were delicious. The garlic fries were amazing. I'm not a huge fan of garlic fries but these were so good, I even asked for some to go. Overall food was great, but I want to recognize our waitress. Thu was so kind and sweet. Her customer service is phenomenal and I'd go back and ask to sit in her section. Thanks Thu!

Went to the 908 for happy hour yesterday. Draft beers 2 dollars off and appetizers half off. Have previously tried the calamari and it's very tasty. Yesterday had the poke wraps which was very good as well. 908 is always a great spot to come to for delicious food. Bar had plenty of space to hang out. Happy hour is 3-6.

Fun Fact: September 8th is 908 Day in Long Beach. The day pays tribute to the city's unique Zip code, which fosters community pride. Hence the name of this restaurant. I ventured out to this neighborhood friendly establishment to meet some darling Yelp ladies for Sunday Brunch. On this lovely day, I encountered a beautiful soul named Feskeli. I wanted to soak up all her energy and carry it in my heart. We were joined by my Yelp sister Te-See - another beautiful soul that lights up the room with her infectious energy. The 908 is spacious with fun, funky artwork on the walls and a fantastic bar that takes center stage. Our server Bubba was awesome! He had a great personality and went the extra mile to ensure my friend's dietary restrictions were addressed. We adored him! I love my martinis with Blue Cheese olives and love them even more when served with a shaker on the side and that's how you get them here. Plus, it's poured at your table. Bonus points for this, and the 908 martini was delish! I typically don't eat until later in the day, so I ordered a side of fruit. The fruit was ripe, sweet, and fresh. It's worth noting that you can also order off the lunch menu during brunch. However, my friends ordered Brunch dishes. One got the 908 Omelet and the other the Classic Breakfast. Both servings were generous and reasonably priced. They enjoyed their meal and we enjoyed our time together. Good food, good drinks, good service, good vibes, & good company make for a perfect day. *Private parking lot. *Happy Hour Mon - Fri 3 pm - 6 pm. *Brunch Sat & Sun 10 am - 2 pm

Folks should be aware this place is capable of treating you with disrespect in person, then when you mention the poor treatment in a TikTok comment, they'll respond without taking accountability and dismissing your experience. They will then ultimately block you - presumably because too many people liked your comment. You guys, that's embarrassing. You need to do better. My comment was completely respectful and an honest concern for how I was treated the one time I ventured in with a friend. Deleting feedback you don't like, customer concerns, and then further blocking those people (I hadn't written anything else. I only noticed because I clicked on the notification that someone liked my comment and saw I was now blocked) makes you look shady and guilty. I'm not a bot, and I explained a very real, possibly discriminatory experience at your bar. If anyone reading would like to know the experience: It was October 21, 2024. A Monday. I should've written this review then but I didn't have anything nice to say, and didn't want to trash this place when it seemed they were struggling due to what the bartender said. I was going through a really tough time, having just canceled my wedding about a month earlier. It was my first outing after a month+ of deep depression. My friend came to rescue me and take me out. I had been meaning to try this place since moving to Long Beach. It was fairly early in the evening, probably around 8pm or so and it was pretty slow. There was music and two couples dancing. We grabbed a table and I went to the bar to get us drinks. As I stood at the bar, some guys had come up alongside me to wait as well. The bartender looked over me and promptly took their orders. I barely had any emotion left in me at the time so I didn't care, and just waited to be next. However, I waited. And waited. And waited. The bartender seemed to be intentionally ignoring me (now the only person standing at the bar). I watched him busy himself with other drinks for the tables, for the guys, and continue to ignore me. Time ticked by and I started to wonder if I was doing something wrong. My friend kept looking over at me from the table like what is taking so long? Minutes and minutes passed as I stood there awkwardly, being blatantly ignored. After a long stretch of time, the bartender quickly said something in my direction like, "If you want to order you're going to have to go to the other end of the bar." I said, "Oh ok thank you." And walked to the other end of the bar. From this point, I was ignored and talked about (full male bar staff) without being looked at. They rudely discussed in front of me how I was standing there, and how each one of them wasn't going to take my order. It had been over a half hour at this point, and I was the only one who had been standing at the bar. It was a slow Monday night. Because I was a broken hearted loser at the time, I started to tear up. Why was I being treated like this? Am I not someone they want in their bar? Is this place not queer or woman friendly?? Why is every other person getting served, while I am blatantly dismissed? After almost 40 minutes, the bartender on that end told me he wasn't going to take my order, and I'd have to go back to the other side again. I quietly walked back over to the other side, feeling so embarrassed and just wanting to leave. It was ridiculously clear I wasn't welcome here, though I had no idea why. I remained standing there for maybe another 10 minutes. The original guy finally relented and begrudgingly took my drink order. He was standoffish at first, until he realized I wasn't upset about any of it. He started to apologize, saying he was brand new, and told me some of the staffing issues they had had that night. He seemed stressed. He recognized he had served the guys before me, and I had been ignored for way too long. He apologized again, and poured us an extra shot in our drinks to make up for the poor treatment. The drinks honestly were terrible lol, but I can only complain about so much. Plus he gave us double the alcohol, so I guess I was grateful. We left immediately after and went somewhere else. I haven't been back since. I wish I could share screenshots of my TikTok comment with the owner's dismissive reply, so you could see for yourselves whether you think that deserved being blocked. She even liked one of my reels from my page? Very odd. People are going to share the truth about their experiences at your establishment, and for you to deny that and block them is wild. You could've responded in a very different way, but you chose to be defensive and shady. That's on you.

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

This is one of the most popular restaurants on 2nd Street, and I can honestly say I've never walked…read moreby without seeing the place packed. If you're looking for a spot with great atmosphere, a trendy vibe, and beautiful décor, this is definitely it. My favorite time to go is on the weekends for breakfast. I think they have some of the best breakfast options you'll find on 2nd Street. It's definitely a trendy, people-watching kind of place where you can enjoy the scene as much as the food. It's centrally located right in the heart of 2nd Street, directly across from Nick's. Between the stylish décor, lively atmosphere, and great location, it's just one of those places that has a really fun vibe.

I've been here a handful of times and I might be done. I wouldn't argue that the food is mediocre,…read morebut it's not great either. I've gotten fish and chips a bunch of times; sometimes the fish great--but sometimes it is slightly under-fried. Today I tried their fried chicken sandwich and it was not great. The menu described the sandwiches coming with pickled vegetables, but it was very plain. The brioche bun was great, but it's not the selling point. The fries oddly also always come with a teaspoon of ketchup. My biggest gripe is the service. I stopped by to have lunch with my mom. I ordered a soda before we placed our food order. While we looked over the menu, I took a few sips of the soda and finished it. My mom drank her water, and finished it. The server came back and took the order, the drinks were empty and never refilled. Whatever, NBD. However, 10 more minutes passed and I flagged down a different server and asked for a refill. (My server had disappeared). The food came out eventually, my drink was nearly empty again--no refill. The runner asked if I needed anything else after setting the food down and I again asked if I could grab a refill (the server still has not come back to the table). I looked around and he was chatting it up with a bartender leaning against the wall and giggling. Super annoying-- I'm glad the culture here means that the employees are friends and can talk and joke around. I don't need constant engagement, but you can't let drinks stay empty for lengthy periods of time. Half way done with the food, we still had empty drinks. Server never came back, runner never came back. Finished the food and sat for ten mins. Flagged down yet again another server and asked for the check. My server made his was over with the check--tips START at 25%, then 23%, then 20% Our lunch was about $70 (without the tip). This isn't McDonald's. The food was meh and the service was terrible. The cost did not make me feel like there was any value given the lack of attentiveness and quality of the meal.
