This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at and I am a very frequent traveler for business. The wait staff are outstanding, the food was incredible and don't let the small size of the place dissuade you it's outstanding. I had the Veal Saltimbuca and it the best veal I have eaten ever. As you can tell I loved this spot, come here if you are serious about good food!!!
With so many restaurants serving good Italian food, it's so hard to decide on where to go eat sometimes. After narrowing down a few places, we decided on checking out That's Amore. When we arrived, we waited to be seated as we had no reservations but it didn't take too long. A couple in front of us sat at the bar so that is an option for those who don't want to wait or like dining at the bar. We did get seated only a minute or two after them so we got lucky with a table. Customer service was quick and they all speak English from what we observed. We took a look at the menu and decided to get the same thing. This was a first all trip. We ordered the Spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I didn't think I was going to be full so I also ordered a Prosciutto e Bufala. It didn't take long for our drinks and the Prosciutto e Bufala to arrive. After I finished the Antipasti, they quickly took away our plates and a few minutes later, our pasta arrived. It looked and smelled great! Mink's plate looked a lot better than mine so they definitely need to work on consistency. I also got a lot of shells with no seafood inside. Overall, it was still really good and we enjoyed our meal.
Came by on our first night in Rome for a quick dinner. Overall it was pretty good! There were one or two places that we liked slightly more, but we were very happy coming here. The sauces here were very thick which was good but maybe not my personal preference. Service was good. It's busy and a bit loud next to the street (especially when cars are honking).
Highly recommend visiting this place when in Italy! My friend found it as highly recommended on Google and it was right near the Travi Fountain. We found their original location but they were completely booked. Lucky for us, a waitress told us there was a 2nd location near this original location. She actually went out of her way to walk us to the other location. Ended up getting the Lasagna di mia Nonna. The lasagna is already cooked (mushy). I highly recommend getting this dish. It is one of the best dishes I had on my trip to Italy. The dish had beef, high quality mozzarella, and tomatoes.
The first thing we ate when arriving in Italy was here. We wanted to try some pizza and this was within a minute walk from our hotel, so we stopped in. Menu is nice, food looked and smelled very good. Our pizza tasted great! Their bruschetta was excellent! The basil on it was so good! Service was mediocre. Overall, it was very good!
I was recommended by a colleague of mine to come to this place when I am in Rome. It did not disappoint. I went to the one location, but there was a long line to get in. I asked the hostess how long the wait is and she said at least one hour. She then offered to take us to their other location, which is a two minute walk away. She even escorted us over there to make sure we did not get lost. We just walked right in to their second location and seated right away. The food and the service staff was amazing. 5 all around
Was craving pizza and decided to give this place to try because of the much rave reviews on TripAdvisor. Is is a good walk from the fountain Trevi, but well worth it. I had the fried calamari for my appetizer, which was nice and lightly crisp with marinara sauce. For pizza I ordered the margarita pizza which came in this cute heart shaped. It was so cheesy and delicious. The place was very cute with many photos displayed around the restaurant, and the chef was present as well. The service was attentive and friendly.
If you want delicious pasta and pizza, or seafood too, and you want it fast, I recommend this place especially. The first time I went, the waitress was a little rude but she took care of our table of six. Food was great and the ambiance was too, we were more concerned about the delicious margarita pizzas, fettuccini Alfredo, Dolce Vita Spritz(18+), and everything else. The second time, our party of eight was seated fast and our waiter was very nice about our lacking Italian. Our food came out hot and delicious which prompted some in our group go come back again, for a third time! Overall really good food, nice people, pretty restaurant.
Intro: When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that's amore! I couldn't help it. After walking for hours upon hours in the heat of the summer in Rome (98 degrees), I was looking for a spot for dinner on a Friday night that was close by. Despite having an English name (which made me skeptical that it's a tourist trap), the restaurant has good reviews and it's one of the most reviewed restaurants in Rome so I got over my initial hesitation. Service (3.5/5): I will say that I judge service with an American lens. Service at restaurants in Europe tends to be slower, less friendly, and less efficient than service in the states. While this restaurant fit the bill in terms of speed and efficiency, the staff was a little more friendly than average. They also have free WiFi which is clutch for international travelers. Ambiance (4/5): Like most restaurants in Rome, they have al fresco dining but this Italian restaurant also has a large interior by Italian standards. I was seated at the bar. There are six or so seats at the bar which is also a plus as most restaurants in Rome don't have bar seating. Drinks (4/5): I didn't drink alcohol on this visit though I always recommend going with red or white house wine, Italian beer, or an Aperol Spritz while in Italy. Instead, I went with an Italian soda (I forget the exact name but it starts with a "C") and a pear juice. Food (3/5): I started off with the suppli al telefono appetizer. This was my first time trying this Roman classic. Think of it as similar to a croquette. The one I ordered was fried and stuffed with tomatoes and cheese. You only get one but it was "delicioso." From there, I went with the spaghetti carbonara, another Roman classic. One of my favorite pasta dishes, this was a generous portion by Italian standards. They also bring you fresh parmesan which is always a nice touch. Unfortunately, the sauce was too salt heavy. As a result, it didn't stack up with other carbonaras I've had elsewhere. Overall: A charming restaurant with a large menu. But one that was average in my book.
Awesome little corner restaurant right next to a busy square. Food was absolutely delicious with a lot a flavor and reasonably priced. They have a great wine menu either by the bottle or by the glass. Overall, a very positive experience and I would definitely go back again on my next trip to Rome.

Stopped in for Dinner, no reservation around 7pm and it was a packed house. Not a single open table. Luckily the back bar was available and we were able to get two seats at the bar. My recommendation is to make a reservation in advance as many other couples had gotten turned away after us. The restaurant is small and a norm for pretty much all of Italy. So even at a table you'd be able to hear and smell your neighbors food and conversation. With that being said, that didn't take away from it charm. They played Frank Sinatra songs over the speakers while dining. We went with the Ravioli with Spinach and ricotta cheese on the inside with a cherry tomatoes red sauce over top sprinkled with Parmeggano Reggano shavings. I'm not exaggerating when I say the plate was licked clean. Simply a delicious dish!! For dessert we opted in for the Chocolate Cake, which spotted our eye when we first sat down at the bar as the desserts had been behind the bar. I took one star off because it truly looked better than it tasted. Other than the dessert, the ambiance, the food, and the service was impeccable even with a packed house during a really busy time for dinner. Where do I begin? I'll start by saying that my husband and I went to this restaurant three times during our stay in Rome. The reason for this was not because it was one block away from where we were staying. Although it did have a lot to do with it. Two out of the three times we visited the restaurant I got the same pasta. Oh how I wish I could take some home with me. The pasta I am talking about is the black truffle pasta with mushrooms. It was such a dream! I also had lasagna which was out of this world. My husband had the seafood pasta. He isn't much of a pasta guy but loved it and ordered it twice. The only pastry we had was a tiramisu that was delicious. Something to remember is that it gets crowded but rubbing elbows with other guests should be the least of your worries because the food makes up for ever bit of discomfort. read more

Just Fantastic! Our first night in Rome and found this little gem for our fist dinner. Wow! What and impression! My son and I walked in here was without reservations but because it was just both of us there were able to accomodate us. There was a bit of a wait time maybe about 45 minutes to an hour but it went by quickly. The inside is very small but cozy, food was just fantastic. I had a glass of wine my son had a sprite. To begin I got Bruschetta bread so delicious and for our main course we I got the Pasta Bolognese with meat and my son got the tomato Gnocchi both were freshly made and so delicious. I would definitely come back here again. It was such an amazing first dinner experience. I can't wait to go back! Thank you That's Amore!! read more

A very popular place near Trevi Fountains. Both pasta and pizza are good (but not super). Service is quick (probably because it's near a tourist attraction). Price is reasonable. read more
I wish I knew why this place is highly rated? Yes, staff were on point with the service and all, but I was not a fan of the food. I wish I ordered something better. A pizza maybe? I would recommend asking for recommendations if you're not sure what you're ordering or even doing research on Yelp. The pictures definitely speak louder than words (haha). I went on Yelp to check out photos while we waited and I don't think I got the order I wanted (my fault). I wanted something with vegetables so I thought I'll try the pasta with eggplant (sorry forgot the name) and I honestly found little to no eggplant in my pasta. Please expect to pay at least 20 euros for a good meal here... just a tip to all tourists who are traveling with or without a budget. Other than that, great location close to the Trevi Fountain and staff are super nice! read more

A great find at the last minute even though I took all they had for a seating - next to the kitchen door. The food was absolutely worth every bite. Service was a little on the slow side but the taste of the food overcompensate for that. Food is served relatively fast once ordered. By far the best restaurant I tried in Rome! Everything from the salad to the wine was nothing less than extraordinary. I had the spaghetti with seafood and let me tell you, they do not skimp on the seafood. The flavor of the sauce was light, yet savory. I could literally eat this dish everyday. To end dinner I tried semifreddo for the first time. I'm not sure if it always tastes as amazing as it does at this restaurant or not, but the nougat was so rich and creamy it was to die for! Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes to Rome! Fernando and his staff make your dinning experience a pleasure from start to finish! read more

Our first time in Rome and we were desperately trying to find a good place to eat dinner at amongst the many restaurants lining the streets near our hotel. It was so hard to decide on one place as most restaurants had very similar menus. We came across That's Amore along our walk back from the Vatican and I am so glad that we did! We were drawn to the restaurant initially by the name. The restaurant itself is pretty big but the tables are all set up very close together, we were practically sitting with our neighbors for lunch! I would suggest making a reservation for dinner as this place can get VERY busy. I would highly suggest the Bruschetta plate, it comes with three slices all prepared differently. It was so heavenly!! My husband ordered their spicy pizza and I got their seasonal ravioli. Both dishes were absolutely AMAZING! We both cleaned our plates and still could've ate more because it was just SO good! If you're ever in Rome, I would highly suggest this as a "must try" restaurant! read more
This place had a crowd and you have to put your name on the list (I'm not sure if they take reservations). We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. The servers are pleasant and efficient. We ordered pasta and pizza and both were delicious. The tiramisu was fantastic. Seating is tight so you'll be close to other guests and it can be a bit loud. Great experience. read more

This was my first stop upon arriving in Rome. It was busy at 3pm on a Thursday, but a crowded restaraunt is usually a good sign. I have never had gnocchi, and my sister recommended i try it so i ordered the gnocchi al sorrentina.The gnocchi was soft uniform consistency, but the highlight was the fresh tomato sauce that accompanied it. My only problem with the dish was that it was only one note, because of the small amount of buffalo mozzarella. As good as it was, it became boring after a while. My sister got the pizza diavola. It was a nice break from the gnocchi and made me wish i had ordered it. It wasnt too greasy like a lot of pizza and had just the right amount of kick. I would like yo give yhis place 3.5 stars. The service was subpar. Maybe it was because the restaurant was so busy but other people seemes irritated also. read more
This place is a gem! It's located very close to the Trevi fountain. Although the outside is a bit deceiving (small hole in the wall corner spot), the food is beyond amazing!! They're known for their truffle pasta which did not disappoint! It was creamy and delicious! And the calzones are HUGE! We got there around lunchtime and there was no wait but the restaurant did fill up very quickly right after we got there. This place is a must go to if you're in Rome!!! read more

This was one of the few places we found that didn't close between lunch and dinner and it was pretty packed at 3pm. Lots of tourists! They served our pizza in a heart shape which was super cute! Our fettuccini alfredo with homemade noodles was creamy and flavorful. Both portions were huge. Service was slow to greet us and our drinks took a bit of time as well. I wouldn't recommend eating here if you are in a rush. Solid place to eat at if you are in between meals but with so many other choices in the area I am going to try to find less touristy restaurants. Tips: - if you order a pasta dish then they will bring you fresh bread with your meal - carb heaven! - they charge a service fee - large bottle of still water was only 3 euros - they have free wifi just ask them for the password read more

Second place we went to for dinner during our stay in Italy. We made reservations the night before which I recommend! There was a line out to the street when we arrived, luckily we were taken to our table right away. I ordered the seafood plate and lasagna. Lasagna was very good and the seafood plate was large. Both dishes were tasty. We ordered a large bottle of water for the 4 of us and it came out luke warm so we had to ask for ice cube which they brought in a separate container. I rated it 4 1/2 out of 5 because the food was good but not the best I've had. However a good option to have some tasty food and sit with your family with good customer service and a nice atmosphere. read more
So delicious! Perfect location, walking distance from Trevi Fountain! High quality food! Great service! Must make a reservation! We got very lucky and we're able to get a table for 2 at 7pm with no reservation. After we requested a table, they turned down nearly everyone saying they were booked for the evening. If you're solo, you might be able to eat at the bar. The food was great! Ordered the grilled seafood and it did not disappoint! Pasta was delicious! Ordered the house wine. 4.5 Stars. Great food, great atmosphere, prices were on the higher side but was to be expected when eating near the Trevi Fountain. Ordered the bruschetta and prosciutto starters which were great. Nothing too fancy, but if you have had these dishes elsewhere before, this restaurant delivers. Recommend sharing a pasta dish because the food portions are fairly big especially since the meat comes after the pasta. I shared the lasagna with another and it was great. From here I had the filet mignon with the pepper sauce. Meat was cooked perfectly and is recommended if you are a meat lover. I couldn't even eat the potatoes that came with the steak due to being too full! Only thing preventing a 5 star was the dessert and the water. Water was room temperature so be sure to ask for ice. Tiramisu was average. You're in Rome though, so you can walk down the street and find great gelato if wanted. Definitely make a reservation if you want to come here for dinner. There was a line of 20 people around 8PM, but because we made a reservation we were able to be seated right away. Overall, great restaurant and recommended. read more

Had The most incredible and delightfully tasty meal in Rome. Our food was cooked perfectly and with so much flavor. This was the highlight of our trip in Rome. We truly felt like guests at an Italian families home. It's small and cozy and you feel you are a part of the chefs personal dining room table. I enjoyed a delicious filet Mignon, cooked to perfection. I don't even like capers but the ones on this steak were packed with a nice punch, and crispy. Every bite was an explosion of flavor inside my mouth. The sauce was beefy and tasted like mom's gravy on thanksgiving. All my friends had the pasta and they said top 5 pasta meals they have ever had. If you are in Italyt, I highly recommend any dishes with truffle. You will be amazed at the unique quality and composure of such a dish. Wish it was closer to home! read more
Do not leave Rome without eating here. I mean it. Don't. While searching yelp for places to try during our few days here this one caught our eye. We couldn't get reservations a day in advance but we showed up for lunch and only had to wait 5 minutes. We ate bruschetta; fantastic. I had the homemade fettuccine bolognese and it has been the best thing I've eaten in Italy so far! Other dishes were a truffle pasta and a pesto pasta. Excellent bread, wine, and I can't forget the dessert. That's because the amaretto and caramel semifreddo is the best dessert I have and here. I wish I could have another meal at That's Amore! Also, the service was wonderful and the vibe is cozy. read more
After a long day of sightseeing in Rome, we found this Italian restaurant in Rome for dinner. This was our first dinner in Italy. :) We ended up waiting about 45 minutes - 1 hour. The place is not very big, and it is nice a cozy. We got to meet other tourists also.The service was great and staff was friendly. They were pretty quick getting our orders and getting the food to the table. They did charge a small fee of 2 Euros for water, and then 3 Euros for a service charge. We ordered the Tomato Caprese Appetizer, Bolognese Pasta, and Saltimbocca Veal. The portion size is just enough for 1 person. I would stick to their pastas or pizzas. Nice spot but the food is gross and service is lacking. I asked for bread to try to drown out the bad taste but it still hasn't come. My daughter didn't finish her ravioli and it looks like I won't finish my lasagna. First meal I have regretted stopping for. Last night we tried a place with microwaved ravioli and it tasted better. read more
So if the heart shaped margherita pizza doesn't say it all, I don't know what will!! Near the trevi fountain lies this pizzeria serving the best pasta and pizza dishes..customer service is amazing here..you dont feel like they are trying to upsell you and stuffing food down your throat..its actually a breath of fresh air! The ambiance is cozy, we ordered the margherita pizza and alfredo fettuccine and they were both deviiiiiine. Really big portions so it's good to order two dishes and then share..can't go wrong for 26€ !! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. read more

This place was fantastic!!! We were able to be seated quickly for a table of 7. Everyone loved there dishes from the gnocchi to the mixed grill to the seafood pasta and truffle pasta. BEST FOOD IN ROME! I'm not kidding! We found this place on Yelp and had to go based on its menu and amazing reviews. When we got here it was crazy busy but we were seated right away. We ordered bruschette and sparking red wine to start and weren't disappointed. The wine was amazing and the bruschette was very fresh. My mom ordered the linguine bolognese and LOVED IT. Amazing sauce! It was so rich and tasty. She even added bufala mozzarella to it, which made it even better! Give it a try! I ordered the gnocchi and it was so light! I loved the bufala mozzarella on top! The sauce with it also made it a delicious meal. My dad ordered the veggie pizza and was amazed as well. First of all, it comes shaped as a heart! How cute! And second of all, it had a great crust and very fresh vegetables. For dessert we ordered their famous semifreddo, it was amazingly good. I've never had anything like it! The amaretto flavor was delicious. They even gave us two shots of limoncello for free!! This place was amazingly good and we left very happy! read more

Exploring Rome all day is exhausting. Almost as exhausting as searching through Yelp to find a spot to eat. Stop searching...Just come here. Pizza was great (better than what we had in Naples), pasta was great, seafood was great. We ordered a lot of food and loved everything. Wish we had more time in Rome so we could've come back to That's Amore! read more

I'm so glad we came here for dinner! Our flight was delayed and so I asked to see if we could push our reservation out 1 hour. They were very accommodating! Although the place didn't have A/C they kept their doors open and there was a nice breeze. Casual setting but it was definitely an experience, as if I was eating on the streets of Rome. I also loved all the food we ordered. The unique thing about this place is the pizzas are all made in heart shape! The carbonara was amazing and my husband loved the veal. We finished off with a tiramisu and let me tell you BEST TIRAMISU ever! read more

Love, love love! There might be a bit of a wait for a table in the evening as the restaurant is quite small but the food... holy cow! This is everything that a person could want when visiting Italy, wide variety of options to choose from that come and fair and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend to try the seafood pasta as it is heaven on a plate! Do yourself a favour and try it out! read more

Need to make reservations! This is a popular restaurant with lots of awards. Delicious food, but definitely geared toward tourists. Just outside there are lots of street vendors and traps for the tourists that are going to Trevi Fountain. They have ads playing for pasta classes and all in English. I would just wish for a more authentic restaurant. BUT The seafood pasta was absolutely amazing and the eggplant parmesan. The service was very good too. They do change a $3 surcharge per person - FYI! read more

So nice we tried it twice! Two days in a row we ate lunch here. When I first yelped for a nice lunch spot I was worried this place would be too touristy, especially with the name. But when we arrived it was packed! We waited while the servers cleared a table for us, maybe a 5-10 minute wait. After we were seated it took a little while for us to be waited on but our server was very nice and recommended some of her favorites. I started with a delicious glass of Italian white wine (I'm sorry I can't remember the name!) and my husband got a glass of prosecco. I ordered the gnocchi which was delicious, nice and light with a good balance of mozzarella and basil. My husband ordered a pizza with spicy salami, the pizza was very good, basically a spicy pepperoni pizza that comes in the shape of a heart lol (amore!). We needed with espresso and a very tasty tiramisu... The next day I was craving a truffle pasta. I ordered there's but sadly it didn't fulfill my craving. Sooo...I ordered the lasagna lol. It was amazing!!!! Everyone kept eating from my plate! I again ended with the tiramisu and was not disappointed! All in all very delicious spot that gets very busy! Very accommodating to English speaking customers, but come on you're in Rome learn a little Italian! read more
