First time here. This is a small restaurant, perhaps with a capacity of 50 diners. It has the feel of a family run restaurant. The service is warm and friendly, The food was really good. We were a group of 5. We had Pad See Ew Beef, Pad Thai Shrimps, Khao Mon Gai, Garlic Duck and Pineapple Fried Rice. The portions were ample and all the flavors were authentic. Phenomenal thai food! I really liked the crab fried rice, khao sói, drunken noodles, shumai, mango sticky rice, and thai iced tea. Probably the best thai iced tea & crab fried rice I've had outside of Thailand. The service is amazing and the owner (who also serves & cooks) is super sweet. Thai Wok Kitchen like a little piece of Thailand and temporarily transported me out of Vancouver strip mall suburbia for a little while with the modern decor and contemporary music. The staff are so sweet and knowledgeable in dietary restrictions. if there was an hour wait to sit down, I would stand at the front door happily. We tried this restaurant after watching it featured on Connect Clark County. What a treat this place was! We ordered take out and didn't wait long for the food. We had Pad Thai, basil fried rice and the peanut curry. The Pad Thai was well prepared full of flavor. Ordered the basil fried rice "medium" and it was perfect amount of heat without killing the flavors. Our favorite was the peanut curry. The restaurant is small, clean, and comfy. The staff is very welcoming and provided good customer service. We ordered the cashew chicken very spicy and yakisoba noodles mild. It smells good when you enter, and I was expecting that savory smoky flavor from wok noodles. Unfortunately the food was very bland. No hint of garlic, onion, basil, soy sauce or anything at all. I used to love this restaurant, but the last time my husband went on a Sunday, we had a bad experience. The Peanut sauce for our Salad Rolls was very runny and watered down. The Yellow Curry with Chicken dish lacked flavor. Boiled peanuts were found in the sauce, which has NO PLACE to be there!!! Not sure it was made with the richly savory black soy though and could use more of a noodle char. Yeah, pad see ew is my jam, I've had it in probably 100 Thai restaurants! Stopped here again to try some of their other dishes... we tried Pumpkin Curry with Chicken and brown rice and the Pad Ke Ma. Both dishes were served hot and tasted great. As seen in the pictures, the portions are generous as well, so are definitely shareable. We like the service here as you get plenty of attention while dining here. This little restaurant has been open for some time now and I have eaten here before but it has been years. Recently Facebook posted "top five reviewed restaurants in Vancouver on Yelp" and I wanted to try it out again and was not disappointed at all! First I ordered the pot stickers (sorry no pictures) and I was not disappointed at all, had a lot of flavors and the sauce was very good. They lightly sprinkle a crunch topping over the pot stickers and it added a new depth to the taste. For dinner I ordered the Kao Soii with chicken and you must be a peanut sauce lover! This sauce was so dang good and had just a little punch of heat to it! The egg noodles were just right and the pickled cabbage was really delicious! I highly recommend this dish! I can see why this place has high marks on Yelp and I will be back and will order this dish again. One thing I will start to do in my reviews is point out something that was missed at the restaurants in hopes that owners are reading what I have said see that maybe changes need to be made. I found that the booths were not big guy with a belly friendly, from what I could see when I walked out the booths could be moved around and make them a little bit more comfortable. Provide more napkins, it's a small request but serving a meal with a sauce and one thin napkin, messes are going to happen. Lastly and this is something that will go away soon since summer is almost over is the fly issue in the restaurant, invest in the ultra blue light devices that help trap the bugs. read more
