The Snow Crab legs received from Yummy Crab.

Ordered 1/2lb. snow crab legs and rec'd JUNK! I couldn't believe when I opened my to-go order- the legs were small. No napkins/wet wipes/or utensils. 1 of the 4 (not 5) legs was partially missing. There was barely any meat!! I can't believe I spent $22.00 onthis. If I had thought first I would have pulled the actual meat from my legs and weighed. The person I dealt with was friendly upon my pickup. ( My only regret was not observing the food I just purchased).

I promised my wife crab legs as a treat after the recent birth of our second son, and she was more than willing to take me up on the offer. Being somewhat immobile due to...well, having just given birth, that meant the crab needed to come to her. Awesome husband to the rescue! Discovering that our favorite crab-slinging food cart was in the process of relocation, we needed to look elsewhere, and decided to give Yummy Crab a shot. Picking up her full order of Dungeness legs, medium hot, Cajun style, and bring it back home, it thankfully arrived intact, un-spilled, and still piping hot! Gauging by the carnage left behind, I'd say she enjoyed it. In fact, she said Yummy Crab probably ranked as her second favorite crab restaurant, which is pretty high praise: we've have had some mediocre and underwhelming experience elsewhere, and were glad to buck the trend. Although it's a little out of the way, across the river from home, we're in the Vancouver Mall area often enough that the chance of stopping in, and dining in person, the next time the crab craving overtakes her, is pretty darn high.

I've been here twice for to-go orders, and as much as I'd like to rate this place more highly, it just doesn't warrant it. On the plus side, "Fish and chips" portion sizes are very generous for the price. That's the only plus. On the "not great" side: * Flavors are just not good. The crab cakes were as pedestrian as they come. The clam chowder was just weird...lacking in flavor, and what little flavor was there was just "off" * ALL fried items taste of fish, clearly indicating that they same fryer and fry oil is used for all fried items * Prices for seafood boil items are obscenely expensive * Quality control is bad. The packet of (factory-made) oyster crackers with the clam chowder was completely stale * Their "popcorn chicken" is weird...whatever it is, it looks like spongy foam rubber, and has a peculiar taste * Service is not very attentive. I've only gotten to-go orders (twice), and both times, I had to wait five to ten minutes for anybody to acknowledge my presence On my most recent (and what will be my last) visit, I was told that my to-go order would be ready in "about ten minutes". There was only one party of diners in the entire restaurant at the time. It took them right at 35 minutes to get my order to me. I really wish they'd told me it would be a 35-minute wait, so that I could have gone somewhere else instead.

Glad they opened one in Vancouver so we don't have to travel to Portland if we don't have the time to. Ample parking outside and we were seated quickly. I had the 1lb of snow crab legs, with all the seasonings mixed and medium spice. It was good. Crab steamed perfectly so no sticking to the shell. And the seasonings were good also. My dad had the crab legs and shrimp combo, and added class, garlic butter seasoning, no spice. Bill was a little over $100 for two people, with two fountain drinks and one appetizer.

Super fun place for a date with my husband! The staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant is clean and has fun, kitschy decor. They have booths and tables available inside the dining area. It's located in a strip mall next to Angel Donuts. We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. The menu has many seafood options including crab, shrimp, oysters, clams, catfish, tilapia, and calamari. They offer boils and fried fish baskets with fries. The baskets come with both tartar and cocktail sauces. The boils come with bibs, gloves and wipes. We ordered a boil with half a pound of shrimp and half a pound of crawfish, and the combo fried fish basket with catfish and shrimp. All the fish tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. We chose the garlic butter old bay seasoning for our boil flavor. It was really good! The batter on the fried fish had a nice flavor and wasn't too heavy or greasy. We really enjoyed our first visit and are looking forward to our next! The pricing is very reasonable for fresh fish options. There is nothing like it in Vancouver that I know of. If you're looking for a fun experience and fresh seafood, I would highly recommend.

I apparently hit them on a bad day last time. My best friend loves their food so she convinced me to try again. I had the fried calamari appetizer and clam chowder. The calamari was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. Very tender. The clam chowder was fine. I think it's a matter of your personal preference. My friend raves about it. Definitely give it a try and decide where you are on the spectrum. My husband had the shrimp fried rice and liked it. A nice amount of shrimp on it. Virginia gave us good service. So I changed my mind. I will be back.

I was out late in the area with my kiddos and was looking for some quick eats when I stumbled upon this restaurant. I called them about fifteen minutes before closing. I wasn't expecting much, but they answered with cheer in their voice. When I arrived on a Monday night, it was near empty save for some customers waiting on to-go orders. The restaurant itself I thought was pretty cute, albeit empty as they were about to close and cleaning up. I can definitely see this place being livelier during busy days. When the food arrived, it was packaged really really well. I guess this is standard practice for seafood boils, but in my case I ordered fried foods so I tore open the containers as quickly as possible to preserve texture. They also supplied sauces and utensils which was nice of them! The catfish was seasoned perfectly and cooked really well. It was a little thinner than I'd like myself but my kids loved it, so it's probably a preference thing. I was surprised at how well they cooked their fries. Crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside. My kids were excited to come back and try it again, so next time I hope to try their seafood boils when I have time to sit down.

What a wonderful place to have lunch. A hidden little Jim, they shouldn't be hidden. The food was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the ambience. Well, it speaks for itself. I had the deep fried oysters and clam chowder, my wife had the shrimp with french fries and hush puppies, and we both walked out of their very satisfied. If I was gonna complain about anything, it's the fact you can't find a place :-) it should be a giant billboard out front :-) thank you and we highly recommend it.

Yes, finally, a seafood place in Vancouver amongst an over abundance of repetitive offerings. We hand an incredible experience, devouring every bit of our meal with satisfying grunt and groans of pure bliss. We had a pound each of snow crab and Dungeness crab, a half pound of mussels, and a half pound of shrimp. We opted for the Old Bay seasoning and a side of toast. This was absolutely one of the most enjoyable meals we've had in a long time. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Lastly, our server, Ayleen, was a real pleasure to chat with. She was super helpful, cheerful, and attentive. Atmosphere is comfy, and decorations remind us of the sea. We felt that overall, and given the quality of the food and service, Yummy Crab is a great value and fun experience.

Stopped in for lunch on the weekend. Lunch menu doesn't apply during the weekends. Friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the combo fried basket- catfish/tilapia/shrimp and an order of popcorn chicken. Generous portions. The shrimp were jumbo sized and fish were large peices. The fries were the right amount of crispy, very good! Popcorn chicken was soft and good too. Though we would consider they were more like mini chicken nuggets. We would come back to try other items!

Date night was absolutely delicious and such a good choice for what I was craving and it definitely hit the spot!

We're talking "Fred Meyer cheese counter" quality. Nothing bad, but just not great. The assortment of "dried fruit" was a small cup of dried cranberries. Meh. The real issue I have regarding our visit was the automatic 20% gratuity. I really hate this required tipping movement within the restaurant industry. I do wish they would just raise the prices and leave the tipping to me and my server to hash out. Sometimes the service isn't worth 20% of my bill. Really. Normally, there is a notice in Open Table or on the venue's website to alert of a required tipping policy. I saw neither prior to our arrival. In fact, I didn't notice any warning on the menu either but it was dark in the lounge and I may have missed the small print. I typically avoid restaurants requiring a service fee or mandatory 20% tip. This time they got me but I doubt we'll be back.

The Grant House is the oldest residence on Officers Row, originally built in the mid-1800s as part of the Fort Vancouver military community. You can feel that history the moment you walk in! The tall windows, the creaking wood floors, the way the rooms still hold that old-world dignity. The house was originally built with logs but then replaced. But from the looks of it some was preserved from the inside, which you can get a sneak peek when walking out of the bathroom and back into the dining space. For drinks, I had their cider, my fiancé chose a zero-proof drink, and both were delicious. My cider was bright, fruity and crisp, and his drink tasted thoughtfully layered, not sugary or flat. For dinner, we ordered the Garlic Caesar Salad, Butternut squash tagliatelle and the Seared pork chop, and they all felt like autumn served on a plate. The pasta was velvety and comforting, and the pork chop had that perfect balance of sear and tenderness, a dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate it. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Pam. She was an absolute delight, warm, present, and a talented host beyond measure. She played soft, romantic jazz piano through the evening, and at one point, my fiancé and I ended up sharing a slow, quiet dance right there in the dining room. The Grant House setting adds to the charm historic, softly lit, and easy to settle into. Pam made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. So excited to come back for the holiday dinner.

Anyway, our server was so blah (Katelyn H), our water glasses had lipstick marks, I asked her for new ones, she seemed to have forgotten or something so I asked the bartender (which is so sweet!) then our server heard me and grabbed glasses and handed them to me. She didn't check if they were clean, and they weren't, friends were too thirsty to wait and wiped off the lip marks with their napkin. She didn't even bother to ask if the glasses were clean, and also never asked us if we needed anymore drinks (we ordered cocktails). When food arrived, I had to walk up to her to ask for small plates, as she just walked away after delivery. The calzones were burnt on the bottom, and the marinara was 100000% canned tomato paste and was cold. Work on that marinara. Ambiance was as it always is, super chill and welcoming. She was the only server but she could have led with that and made it a comfortable setting. (Towards the end I saw the bartender delivering plates and drinks).

DAIRY ALLERGY MISHANDLED -- WAITER LIED ABOUT CHECKING WITH THE KITCHEN…read more My girlfriend has a serious dairy allergy. Before she arrived, I spent time with our waiter going through the menu carefully -- no butter, no dairy, confirmed twice. He even went back to check with the kitchen and returned saying her meal was completely dairy free. It wasn't. Someone else at the table tasted the green beans and suspected butter. When I asked again, the waiter confirmed they'd been cooked in oil and butter -- after already telling us they were safe. By then the pork chop had been sitting on top of them and was contaminated. His response? "I can bring you another side." No offer to replace the meal. No offer to remove it from the check. Nothing. We had a show to catch at the Magenta Theater and no time to push it, so my girlfriend skipped dinner and grabbed something at Burgerville afterward -- she had a headache by the end of the show. The food and everything else about the evening was genuinely good. But between the false assurance, the contaminated meal, and the complete absence of any effort to make it right, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone managing a food allergy -- and I'll be thinking hard before coming back myself.
