Thai Valley is a hidden gem in Everett. It's located in a boring strip mall with a few other ethnic restaurants (and generic burger/sandwich shops), and it definitely stands out. Every single time I've been in here, it's busy. I guess you can say it's the corporate work lunch go-to in this area. The inside is a nice departure from the fast food mayhem of lunch hour rush. I love their lunch specials. For less than $10, you can get an entree (usually a curry, chicken, beef, or seafood dish) with soup, rice, and a generous heaping of pad thai. My favorite lunch special is the red curry. I had the pleasure of trying their Tom Kha (chicken, coconut milk, and lemongrass soup) while I was super sick, and it is SO good. Usually this soup is hit or miss at Thai restaurants. Thai Valley nails it. Perfect combination of coconut milk, lemongrass, chicken, and seasonings. And for $8.95, it's large enough to share (I took leftovers to go). A word of caution! I like my food spicy...this means hot but also flavorful. If you order your dish "medium" here, it's going to be spicier than you're used to having. I have yet to order anything "mild," because I am afraid it will go on the other end of the spectrum. But yeah, "medium" is sure to clear your sinuses out. I wonder what "spicy" would do! The staff here is very on top of things. Always read to refill your water, etc. For being as busy as they are during the lunch rush hour, I am surprised they are so readily available. read more

Crazy I haven't reviewed this place! My family and I have been going here since it opened. There's been a change of management once that I know of for sure. It's the best Thai food I've ever had. No one comes close to this place. Which sucks because this place really sets your expectations high. One star is removed for the lack of consistency sometimes. It sucks getting a bad batch. Drive time from Bothell to Everett with traffic takes me a hour so it sucks when the foods bad. But most of the time it's really good. My top restaurant for Thai food. Try their Tom yum soup. Pretty mediocre thai food - only plus is that they actually serve Massaman curry, which many Thai places do not. I work in the area so its a decent place to go with coworkers, but I would not go out of my way to go here. One negative is that they brought a table of 8+ people one check without asking if we wanted split it. Most places now-a-days will just give you separate checks. Its a bit more difficult for the restaurant but saves their customers a lot of trouble. read more

Customers for many years. Today they forgot to give us the most expensive item in our pick-up order. Didn't realize it until we got home. Called, asked to be refunded on credit card, no apology, offer to deliver, got hung up on. Called again only to be told "You can come get it tomorrow. (What???) This is some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had. I have travelled all over Thailand and it beats most of the places there. The PT is sweet but not overkill. One thing of note is that their food is crazy spicy. I would suggest ordering one star less than your usual. One star is a little on the mild side for me and two star is like my face on fire. Normally I do two to three star. I haven't tried anything other than the PT but it's been so good that we've ordered it 3 days in a row now. I keep craving it and having to go back. Came here with coworkers on our lunch-big mistake. Lunch time around that area is SO CROWDED. Parking is limited and inside gets cramped. We went due to a coworkers birthday, and the birthday girl didn't end up getting her soup (main meal, not the small soup that comes before the meal) until almost everyone was done eating. We felt rushed when ordering. I read somewhere that this place was gluten sensitive and to let the server know. However, when I asked if the Pad Thai had any gluten, I'm not sure she understood. So i asked a few different ways to see if she understood since there was a language barrier. She said it was fine but I was skeptical. Normally Pad Thai doesn't contain gluten but it is good to double check. They brought out almost everyone's soup, they forgot three of us. When the food came, my coworker next to me order a chicken and veggies dish but it came with tofu instead. I ordered chicken pad Thai and there were very thin slivers of chicken, so minuscule that i shouldn't have been charged for chicken. I've had plenty of pad Thai's and this one was way too ketchup-y. It was gross. The Thai iced tea was delicious however, it is hard to mess that up. Like i said before, the birthday girl didn't get her main meal (soup) and when we pointed it out they brought a small cup of soup that is served before the meal. We explained that she needed her actual soup meal and by the time that they brought it, the rest of the group was done with their meal. So she asked for her soup to go. The coworker that got tofu instead of chicken, pointed it out to the waitress and she went to snatch it away as if to go remake it. My coworker explained that it was fine, she was already eating the sides on the plate and picked the tofu out. She asked for a side of chicken to go with it and they brought her a small bowl of chicken. It was busy, and crowded. But the food wasn't worth the hassle of it. Pad Thai very inconsistent from one time to another. Sweet and sour pork is barely passable. Won ton soup has little flavor. I remember the original owners and they were very particular about food quality and their food was excellent. At the beginning of the second owner taking possession the food was consistent. Not sure if there has been an owner change recently but I would take a pass on this place and pick another Thai place as there are a couple fairly close by. read more

This review is for lunch only! It's close to my workplace and I've been here a fair number of times over the years. I've not had anything that wasn't fairly decent, more specifically : -- Lunch sets are a lot of food for the price (IMHO), I always have enough for at least 2 lunches -- I've tried many of the appetizers and quite a bit off the veggie and noodle entree options, and nothing has stood out as NOT fresh and tasty. -- There might be tastier Thai joints around, especially in Seattle where I reside, but I appreciate the fact that here the food never tastes oily/ greasy. -- Service is what it is for the busy lunch hour. In & out, fast and no frills. Just the way it should be! I came today for a coworkers going-away lunch and since I'm on day 21 (of 24) of a cleanse went for the Garlic Asparagus (43C) w/ chicken --5 stars-- with the garlic sauce on the side, instead of cooked with. The waitress pooh-pooh'd me, saying it would NOT taste good since the sauce is raw but I insisted. Glad I did, the food actually was delish (just lightly sauteed asparagus and chicken, I asked for low oil in the saute too!) and I added just a couple of drizzles of the sauce over it and it was perfect! I could see all the oil floating on top of the sauce dish so I am very happy that I insisted on the full portion of sauce NOT being cooked into the protein+veggie. Especially since I got it 5 stars, a little bit went a long way! Thai Valley definitely remains steadily on my regular rotation of workday lunch spots. read more

Dropping my rating after a horrendous lunch there yesterday. Went there with a group for a birthday lunch. Typical Boeing crowd in the restaurant (very easy to spot). Anyway, after our orders were taken (and I had to remind to tell two servers twice to get me the thai iced tea I ordered)...about 15-20 minutes of waiting we looked around to realize not a single table had their meals. Oh but they were still pumping out to-go orders. what was going on?!? It took about 30 minutes before we finally got our orders and we had to scarf our food down to make it back to work in time for meetings etc. Other groups around us started packing their food immediately as they got it. Some other tables even just got up and left. I can't blame them. Not once while we were waiting for what seemed like forever did a server ever come by to let us know food was going to be late(r than usual). Refills never happened on our waters throughout the entire meal. When we finally got our food no apologies for the delay. Never checked on us. Oh but after we got our food they certainly brought out the bill like 2 minutes after with the words "no rush". I think after our server left my snarky comment was "yeah no rush, I'll pay for the bill as fast as you brought out our food". I don't know if a chef died in the kitchen yesterday or if they just poorly managed their take outs vs dine-in orders. But either way I know that typical Thai Lunch food (especially lunch set combos) are all pre-prep'd and only take a couples mins to make per order. They should have figured out something was up a long time ago, and at least gave some better customer service for the long long delay. I started my thursday evening off at Thai Valley and loved every moment of the eating experience. I enjoyed their Orange chicken, Panang Curry, and Pad See Ew. All were cooked to my spicyness order, but i am going to step it up a star next time as i felt my order of a three can easily pass for a two star. The wait staff was very friendly and there was no one else there to steal her away from me and my foodie needs. The restaurant has a light and pleasant decor, the floor is funny to look at, the food is great, the bathrooms are clean., service is friendly. its located in a strip mall, which is pretty congested. the place itself has seats available, but parking can be challenging. service is quick, food comes in big portions and is pretty dang inexpensive. the food is okay and the menu has lots of choices. this place won't knock your socks off, but it can be a solid, quick stop when you need to get something going in a hurry. read more

I would like to give Thai Valley a higher rating because the food is really good... sadly, the service is terrible. The first time I went, the service was bad, but I thought maybe they were just having an off day. Unfortunately, the few times lately that I've gone in with friends/family, whether busy or slow, it has still taken them forever to give us soup and/or take our order (never with a smile or welcome). This last time, they seated people after us and those people got their soup and food before we did. We actually had to stop a server and ask her to take our order. Then when lunch was over, we waited and waited for our checks and boxes. We had to ask for those too. In addition to that bad service, I'm allergic to dairy and ordered the Thai Iced Tea with coconut milk. As the server was handing it to me, I verified, "Now that's made with coconut milk not half & half right?" She hesitated, pulled her arm back, and then said yes, passed it over, and walked away fast. It didn't take me long to realize that she lied. I won't go again and I strongly advise against Thai Valley. The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I can't give zero. read more

I'm still a fan of Thai Valley and it's still one of my favorite thai places to stop in at and grab some lunch, but I just wanted to make a quick update. If you plan on going there for lunch and buying a lunch combo, I'd suggest either going right when they open or at the very end of lunch. If you go mid-lunch time when the place is swarming with Boeing employees, you're basically guarenteed to get 2 hour old pad thai with your lunch combo....This has happened to me twice and I've learned my lesson. I'm sure they just make a large amount of it so they don't have to make individual portions, which completely makes sense, and I'm sure many other thai food places do the same thing at lunch time. But it's just kind of gross when the sauce has gotten rubbery and really sticky on your pad thai noodles and they're only luke warm. This is still a great place to go, though! read more

This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have EVER eaten at. You can taste the complex flavors in all of their dishes (my favorite is the Thai basil w/ fried tofu #41). This flavor you would expect from a fine dining Thai place paying a lot more than the around $9 here (lunch AND dinner). Food comes out fast and includes a top notch hot & sour soup as your lunch starter - which you get when you sit, not when you order. There's a reason that this place is swarming with the Boeing crowd besides being a 5 min drive from the plant - we love good food. This place really has it down. I've eaten at Thai Valley several times in the past two years. For once, I ordered using DoorDash and was disappointed with the quality of my food. There was hardly any chicken or bean sprouts in my Pad Thai, which consisted of mostly mushy noodles. The crying tiger appetizer was equally disappointing because They used to serve generous SLICES of beef, instead of these "bits" I got on my order...hardly worth the $10 I paid for this appetizer. I frequent this place often since it's close to where I work and I really like the food here. However, something seemed changed recently.., the food tasted different (worse than before), especially pad thai. This made me wonder if the kitchen staff had changed... (Then today, the usual servers are not there, all new faces..., hmmm.) Anyway, I don't really mind the changes as long as food is the same. However, out of my wife's lunch plate today (ginger chicken), we found a dead bug, I think a cockroach. Now, is it totally unexpected? Me think not, even though I'd like to think otherwise, it doesn't surprise me that a mishap happens from time to time. It certainly is extremely distasteful though. You instantly loose any kind of appetite, and the dining experience just goes out the window. So we politely and quietly called our server, showed her what we found. She apologized and took the plate. Soon, she brought a new dish. Understandably, neither of us wanted to eat much. What got me upset was, despite serving food with bug in it, they still charged for the whole thing. I expected them to take the entire bill, but at the very least, not charge for my wife's dish. But nah, they charged full price. Instead of saying anything, we paid the bill (including regular tip, as it wasn't server's fault) and left. I'm never go back here again. read more

My husband and I saw thai valley while we were driving around looking for a place to eat. We came across this small strip of restaurants and decided that Thai sounded good, the hostess/waitress was friendly, she greeted us and asked us to pick a table. She promptly filled out glasses with water and gave us a couple of menus. They have a good selection of dishes and we settled on fried tofu to start, I had a standard chicken pad thai ( 2 star ) and my husband had the king crab fried rice ( 2 star ). The food had great presentation, and huge portions. Both meals were worth the price, the only complaint we had was that they tasted more like 3-4 star spice, and caught us both by surprise. Luckily we didn't mind all that much. Thai iced tea was also really good here. Will definitely be back, but we know for next time to ask them to dial down the spice a little. :) read more

Thai Valley has many different lunch combos, and though I can't seem to try anything other than the red curry chicken (which is amazing), friends love everything they've had there too. I finally tried something different last week - the pad see ew with chicken - and now I don't think I'll be ordering anything other than that. Tender, wide noodles with crisp broccoli and lots of tasty chicken in a spicy soy-based sauce. I love the complimentary soup before the meal, too. I'll keep it civil; don't go here. The waiter was cool but that's it. The food pricing is a little high until you see the amount of food you get; that's when you know you're getting robbed. The duck curry was good but who pays $14 for a bowl of it the size of a toddler's cereal bowl.!!? I had to get another plate because I was still hungry. Ordered garlic and pepper pork for $10. OMG!!! I found this place on a Saturday a couple years ago when I first moved to Everett just walking my Pit. I was craving curry chicken so I decided to try it out! This place is located near Boeing so I'd imagine it'd be busy during the weekday lunch hours however being that I came on a Saturday parking wasn't a hassle and my wait time to receive my food was excellent (as there was only a few dine in customers along with myself). The interior is clean and open, a little smaller than I'd envisioned but very nice thai-influenced set up. On my first visit I tried the Wonton Soup which was very filling and also ordered the Curry Chicken. I love spicy food and found that their "3" level was quite satisfying--very HOT!! =)...After several visits and trying several of their magnificent dishes I've come to favor the Kao-Pad the best! This was the first Thai restaurant I had ever been to. Sinces eating here the first time I have had Thia 3 more times. I would say it is a positive that i keep trying Thai because my first experience was good and very reasonably priced. The lunch specials are awesome. You get a full side of rice and pad Thai plus soup and a little cream puff thing. All of this is in addition to whatever entree you ordered. New to the neighborhood and wanted to try the nearest Thai spot. I ordered beef pad-see-ew as well as the cream cheese shrimp wontons to go. When I got home, I quickly learned that the wontons did not have flavor and you only get a tiny piece of shrimp in each one, if you can even notice it. To get flavor, you really have to drench it into the side sauce that comes with it. Otherwise it will taste like bland cream cheese with a bland wrapper. Secondly, the pad see ew smelled terrible. I've been going here once or twice a week for what feels like close to a year. I've had their fried rice, prob all their curries, and pad thai. Usually when I find something that I like, I tend to stick with it. Everything is great, but sometimes (I think mostly dependent on time of day) there is some acceptable fluctuation in quality (thickness of curry, how much the pad thai sticks/clumps to each other, etc). Granted, I order out nearly every time though and the time that I recall eating inside, it was all perfect. Literally. My favorites are: Lunch Set #2. It comes with chicken red curry, white rice, pad thai, and 2 geaw Tods (some sweet moderately crunchy things with a filling inside). SO GOOD. And if you order it early enough (around 3pm or earlier), you'll get a little tiny thing of soup... man, I'm bad at this. lol. If you order this later than the lunch time, I think it'll cost an additional $1.00 from menu price. Green curry and red curry. I prefer my curry to be thicker, but it tends to come out a little on the thin side. It still tastes great though. I honestly haven't gotten the fried rice in a long time (I eat enough rice at home), but it was really good and fresh. It didn't taste like it had any MSG in it (MSG tends to give me a headache). Almost 70 bucks worth of food and didnt even get it's worth. My husband surprised me with bringing Thai Valley takeout home after he got off work tonight. Mind you, he works about 15 minutes away, so I was envisioning lukewarm (if not cold), not-the-greatest-Thai-food, and probably very little of it. I chose three entrees...Pad Thai with chicken, Rama Garden, and Pad Sweet and Sour w/ chicken. The food was delicious, and surprisingly still warm if not hot. While not "the greatest" Thai food I've ever had, for take out (especially), it was very very good food, and I got a ton of it (unlike the usual 2-3 entrees feeding my husband and I just barely). First, I'll start by saying I was very wary of ordering the sweet and sour, since I generally don't think of sweet and sour as a Thai dish (I'm a big curry girl!) but it did sound awesome, and I was curious....wow was I glad I did! This is nothing like the usual Chinese "sweet and sour" fare, though there were of course similarities. The biggest being there was no thick, goopy, sickeningly sweet sauce...it was very thin - not sticky at all, and very, very tasty. No corn syrup gunk in this! We got it 3 stars (heat level)... it was delicious, full of veggies and did not make me feel "blah". I felt like I was eating a reasonably healthy food. There was about 1/2 cup left over, which was devoured by yours truly about an hour after exclaiming I had eaten way too much. I couldn't put the stuff down. Try it! The Pad Thai was, I'd say, "usual". Not too dry, not too wet, with big chunks of chicken and tiny cubes of tofu. Despite not being out of the ordinary, it was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was still quite hot and not all dried out. Oh, and another great part? The to-go box was FULL OF PAD THAI. And I do mean FULL. I'll be eating it for days, yay me! Last but not least, the Rama Garden. Rama Garden is a variety of cooked veggies with peanut sauce. I was happy to see that in my to-go-box, they kept the sauce separate, which allowed me to control the amount of peanut sauce on my serving. A serving which was not NEARLY enough, as that peanut sauce was awesome. It had cooled considerably by the time I got it, so it was very very thick...kind of a bummer, until I tasted it.
