Tofu Pad See Ew
Alekkz D.

Since having moved to Everett fairly recently, we've tried out about 2-3 different Thai restaurants and I'd say this is our go-to here! My husband and I's go to are always: Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew, and Pineapple Fried Rice. I'd say my favorite is the Pad Thai, the Pad Se Ew in my opinion can be a little on the saltier side here but still good! Pineapple Fried Rice, I think it's really hard to mess that up but that's delicious too! If anything, I'd love to give a shoutout to the staff here because they have been very nice each time, greeting us with smiles, and checking in to see if we need anything! I guess that's what brought us back already 3-4 times! The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean too!

Pad Thai with chicken, 2 stars!

Went to Zab Thai on a recommendation from coworkers. I have to agree with their assessment that this place is top notch. I will definitely try more of the menu later, but I always go with the starter kit Chicken Pad Thai my first time at a restaurant. Really good. My server was great, very clean inside. Can't wait to come back!

Caught dinner with a friend at Zab Thai Restaurant in Everett on the corner of 112th and Evergreen Way. While my friend had dined here in the past, I was a Zab noobie, as I've never had the pleasure of dining there before. I love their logo, the colors and font design are very eye catchy. The inside of their restaurant had an equally appealing ambiance throughout. Their menu contains a good variety of options and while none are specifically labeled as vegan, many options are inherently vegan anyhow. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to ask your server. Ours was very knowledgeable and when I tried to order a curry dish, advised that the curries all contain fish sauce. I ultimately opted for Swimming Rama, tofu sauteed on a bed of cooked spinach with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was super rich and incredibly delicious, I savored every bite! My friend ordered the Pad See Ewe and it must have been really good because it seemed to distract her from having to put up with the likes of me .. haha! If you're in the area, you should definitely check them out!

I was recommended this place by a family member, so I came in with high expectations, unfortunately, I left a bit underwhelmed, and my family member was also disappointed with today's experience. To start on a positive note, we really enjoyed the Tom Kha, it was flavorful and comforting. And the ambiance was spacious. However, the Pad Thai was overly sweet and the beef was quite dry. My family member had enjoyed it on a previous visit but agreed it tasted different this time around. The Pad See Ew was a bit of a letdown too; the noodles were mashed together to the point we couldn't really distinguish between the beef and the noodles. I also had higher hopes for the mango fish, especially compared to similar dishes I've tried elsewhere where the fish was a bit more fried, etc. Service was another issue, we had to ask two to three times just to get our order taken, which made the experience feel a bit disjointed. We also brought up our concerns about the food to the server, but unfortunately received no explanation. Nor a thank you after payment. The service overall didn't quite meet our expectations, felt unwelcoming.

I definitely need to give South Everett, WA more street cred, especially since they've really been steppin' up their food scene! Zab Thai Restaurant has great food, welcoming service and a relaxing ambiance, despite how close it is, to Evergreen Way! Cozy into their large booths, with some yummy appetizers, Lamb Curry, Pad Thai and a glass of Tea, then you'll be ready to tackle these cold winter days! Give them a try and let me know what you end up ordering! #ZabThaiRestaurant #SouthEverettWA #SnohomishCo #ThaiCuisine #Noodles #Curries #Teas #supportlocal #supportsmallbusinesses Follow me on Instagram : @NelzLovesIt

Gluten Free Pad Thai tofu with extra veggies

Food was fantastic both times I went. They are able to make almost anything gluten free. Just ask your waiter, they helped me figure out what to order. I ordered the pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao, both were fantastic. The portions are huge. Easily two meals out of the plates. The fresh rolls were also delicious, and the rice paper wasn't dry at all. Service was great, the ambiance was cozy and warm. Real napkins for dining in. Definitely my new go-to Thai location!

Had Thai Chicken and Green Bean

Very friendly service and the portions were spot on and healthy. We stopped in for lunch and both of us had combo plates. Also had 2 Hot teas and the total for all was $40 including tax (before tip). Food was excellent and arrived hot which is really important to me. Ordered 3 out of 5 stars for spice level and my first couple bites seemed hotter than that, but as I kept eating and it mellowed out. I think that the peppers were on top, so I got that heat up front. Was perfect after that, but if in doubt, I suggest to go one star less to make sure. Will come back for sure when wanting Thai food and in this part of town!

The food just wasn't what it should've been or what it was the last time I was there a year ago. We ordered pad Thai and drunken noodles and the almost always delicious mango and sticky rice. The noodles in the pad Thai were very rubbery and very difficult to cut with a fork. And equally difficult to chew because they were so rubbery, the flavor of the dish was pleasant, although it was a little tangy/tart. The mango and sticky rice was the big disappointment because it's a $12 dessert. The mango was rockhard and very very sour. The mango was too hard to cut with a fork, in fact we didn't even eat it. We left most of it on the plate and just nibbled at the rice w sauce. Our server was very pleasant and sweet, but he did not speak much English and I didn't feel like I could communicate my disappointment on the mango and sticky rice, at least to him, and have him understand what I was saying so I didn't say anything. This visit probably was just a fluke, (but an expensive one, when the tip and tax were calculated) it was quite a disappointment given how good our prior visit was.

When we arrived, we were seated and I asked our server for a high chair for our toddler. Instead of bringing one, he told me to get it myself. I've never had that happen at a restaurant before. The high chairs were behind a heater, so it was awkward to reach and I had to manage it myself. We also didn't receive menus for several minutes. We ordered summer fresh rolls with tofu, egg fried rice, and chow mein with tofu (3 star spice). Food was served by a different gentleman who was very nice and brought plates, etc. The chow mein had no spice at all. We waited for our server to check in so we could request spicy sauce, but he never came back to our table. Our table was in the middle of the room, and we watched him check on other tables but not ours. Eventually my husband had to go to the counter to get chili oil. At one point my fork fell on the floor and again, no one came by so I could get another. When we left, there was no thank you or goodbye. In the past, the staff has always been Asian and has been consistently attentive and welcoming. This time our server was the only non-Asian staff member we've seen here and seemed unfamiliar with the restaurant's usual level of service. Unfortunately, we felt overlooked the entire time, which was the opposite of our past experiences. The food is still good, but the service today was unpleasant enough that we won't be returning. It's a bummer because we used to really enjoy coming here.

I liked the fact that the menu was well organized with well described ingredients and accompanying pictures of the dishes (as a more exotic type genre, I have no clue how the traditional dish name translates to something I wish to order). I ordered the Swimming Rama because I wanted wide noodles and spinach. It arrived as a generous portion with excellent quantities of all the different ingredients. I'm also not a fiery hot spice eater, but don't want bland either, and the temperature was proper at spice level 2-3. Normally I would have most of the dish and reserve some for lunch tomorrow, but it was so good (combined with a desire to not carry doggie bags to our next stop) that I finished my dish. My wife had the papaya salad and red curry, and she found them very fresh and flavorful, spicy but not excessive. She also finished her plate. Minor deduction in that the dining area is somewhat small and nondescript, and the door on a cold evening let in some cold (our waiter made sure to bus the door with every passage to minimize this issue). Prices were fair and competitive: great quality and quantity at a good price. I don't understand why there wasn't more of a a crowd!? A real witness: We are planning on returning in a month.

Through a small door opening is probably a small kitchen where one can hear the wok sizzling. At lunch when we went, is a young friendly Thai lady alone taking orders and manning the cashier and to go orders. Maybe in the back is one guy responsible for the cooking. But what comes out of the rook is really good and tasty. We had Pad See Ew with Beef. This is my standard test to know if the Thai restaurant is good. This one surely passes the test. The beef slices were tender. Portion size was fair and smoke. The sauce clinging to the noodles is perfect. It had a good amount of charred broccoli and carrots. The Pad Thai with Chicken Satay is impressive, as well. Perfectly balanced flavors of sweetness, sourness and aromatic. The satay was generous. There's a slight misstep with the peanut sauce, I think. It seemed thickened with cornstarch as opposed to just a reduction. If the other items on the menu were of these quality, I would certainly love to try them. So the restaurant may not be pretty, but what we've tasted is good, really good. We'll be back.

We started with the pumpkin tempura. It was crispy on the outside, with a naturally sweet pumpkin inside. It was really delicious. It came with a dipping sauce, though the portion felt quite small. The side of lettuce and a chunk of purple cabbage felt a bit odd presentation wise, but once we wrapped everything together and dipped it, it tasted great. For my main, I ordered the vegan herb tofu salad with medium spice. It was mostly fried tofu tossed in a herb dressing with mint, tamarind, and cilantro. The flavor was a mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy. It honestly reminded me a bit of pani puri. That said, the sweetness was a bit overpowering and made the dish slightly sticky. If they toned that down, it would be perfect. We also tried the vegan 17th curry fried rice, which was good. The curry flavor was subtle. My toddler absolutely loved it. Overall, I would recommend this place, especially for vegans. The food was good, with the only downside being that some dishes leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. The service was okay, not exceptional, but not bad either. I had visited this place about three years ago on a busy Friday night and had a pretty poor service experience, so I wanted to give it another shot on a weekday. The food has improved, and the service was decent this time around.
