This was very unassuming but worth itttttttt. Food: Pad Thai chicken (17.95): we love pad Thai that's prepared with deep orange colors with that slight tangy sweet deep flavor with a heapy saucy coating. This was it. Delicious choice. Rice noodle was al dente too and just firm enough and not soggy. Easy 5 stars and did not disappoint. Great portion size too for dinner. Recommended if you like pad Thai. We have our running list of disappointing pad that experiences but Zab was shockingly delicious! It hit the spot!! Kow soi with chicken (17.95): also a delicious hit! We asked for no spice and it was still deep curried noodled dish. Usually this costs more at other places but it cost the same. Lovely rich flavors. This place lets you customize the protein instead of the typical chicken drumstick you get. Still delicious. Khao Soi lovers, hear hear! I'll keep the review short and sweet. Focused on the food. It's a yes for me! After an exhausting afternoon of mattress shopping, Zab Thai was my respite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the vibe here- lots of natural light, art, and a cool mural. Lovely![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started with fresh rolls, which is always how I judge a place. They were really good and the peanut sauce was just right. In fact, the peanut sauce was so good that I ordered the swimming rama :) it was phenomenal and a great texture. Our waitress had a good knowledge of gluten free options and was able to help me order something I could have. She was helpful and only really came to the table when needed. They had tons of traditional Thai options, but also some fun specials that I can't wait to try next time I go. A really great variety- plus some amazing lunch specials that I want to come back to try. The takeout box started dissolving a few hours later, so would recommend transferring into containers as soon as you get home. The noodles did last well to be reheated the next day for leftovers, which is always a good sign. Flavorful, delicious, knowledgeable severs, and a reasonable price! Good food and great service. We dined in for lunch and ordered their chicken wings, pad see ew (4star) and some sticky rice. The wings were flavorful but could have been a little crunchier to my liking. The sticky rice was perfect with it. The pad see ew was amazing but my mouth was on fire! They don't skimp out on the peppers, so if you like spice, go with a 4-5 star. I usually go 3 but my boyfriend ordered 4! That's ok, it was still really good :) read more

Since having moved to Everett fairly recently, we've tried out about 2-3 different Thai restaurants and I'd say this is our go-to here! My husband and I's go to are always: Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew, and Pineapple Fried Rice. I'd say my favorite is the Pad Thai, the Pad Se Ew in my opinion can be a little on the saltier side here but still good! Pineapple Fried Rice, I think it's really hard to mess that up but that's delicious too! If anything, I'd love to give a shoutout to the staff here because they have been very nice each time, greeting us with smiles, and checking in to see if we need anything! Caught dinner with a friend at Zab Thai Restaurant in Everett on the corner of 112th and Evergreen Way. While my friend had dined here in the past, I was a Zab noobie, as I've never had the pleasure of dining there before. I was recommended this place by a family member, so I came in with high expectations, unfortunately, I left a bit underwhelmed, and my family member was also disappointed with today's experience. To start on a positive note, we really enjoyed the Tom Kha, it was flavorful and comforting. My family member had enjoyed it on a previous visit but agreed it tasted different this time around. I also had higher hopes for the mango fish, especially compared to similar dishes I've tried elsewhere where the fish was a bit more fried, etc. Service was another issue, we had to ask two to three times just to get our order taken, which made the experience feel a bit disjointed. Food was fantastic both times I went. They are able to make almost anything gluten free. Just ask your waiter, they helped me figure out what to order. I ordered the pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao, both were fantastic. The portions are huge. Easily two meals out of the plates. The fresh rolls were also delicious, and the rice paper wasn't dry at all. Recently ordered take-out and when I later checked my credit card bill, a $5 tip had been added which I did not authorize. I went back to confront them about it and after calling the owner (I assume), the waitperson simply refunded the money. That's great but there's obviously a dishonest employee at this place and there was no acknowledgement of that or any apology offered. I've had this happen before at other restaurants and it's always taken very seriously. Reading through prior reviews from other customers, I'm not the first person this has happened to at Zab Thai. Very friendly service and the portions were spot on and healthy. We stopped in for lunch and both of us had combo plates. Also had 2 Hot teas and the total for all was $40 including tax (before tip). Food was excellent and arrived hot which is really important to me. Ordered 3 out of 5 stars for spice level and my first couple bites seemed hotter than that, but as I kept eating and it mellowed out. I think that the peppers were on top, so I got that heat up front. Was perfect after that, but if in doubt, I suggest to go one star less to make sure. My wife and I have been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. We've eaten pretty much everything on the menu and it's always top end Thai food. If I'm being indecisive I'll go for the red curry because it's the best I've had in Seattle. I got the red curry with tofu and the only reason I'm giving this four stars is because it was over $22 and as of vegetarian the dish said it came with vegetables in the curry and it did not... The rice was also separate and a three dollar charge. I understand that ingredients are getting more and more expensive but for the amount of food I got and what was in it. I do not think it was worth $22. The crab fried rice lacks the burn oil taste and smell that you get from a rice that worked on a wok and the green curry beef we ordered is too sweet while lacking the kick that expect from a Thai curry cuisine. My friend and I discovered this place by accident since our original plans fell through. It's a cute & beautifully decored restaurant! We enjoyed the peaceful vibe & friendly service. We ordered the crab rangoon for an appetizer and it was okay. Delicious but wish it had more filling. It was mostly just wonton. The honey chili side sauce it came with was very tasty. We also ordered the papaya salad & crispy garlic chicken. Both were great dishes & authentic tasting. Both could use more spice though. Ordered delivery from Zab Thai through the Yelp app since I was feeling lazy. Everything with the delivery, packaging, and food quality was fine. It wasn't until the next day when I was finishing off the leftover red curry that made me feel a little iffy. Towards the end of my meal I felt something weird in my mouth and assumed it was the woody stem of the basil or maybe babbmoo shoot, but after a few chews I spit everything out and realized it was a strip of plastic packaging that was width of a pad thai noodle and about two inches long. The worst part is, I am pretty sure I felt something like that in the beginning of my meal, but didn't think anything of it and ingested some of it. I don't think this is a case of fake Chinese noodles or this coming from the to-go containers--probably more like it fell in the food while opening the package of ingredients or something like that near where they prep or cook. I hate to give low reviews, but foreign objects in my food isn't something I feel like I should have to worry about while eating. read more

I usually come to Zab Thai and get the Pad Thai and I have never complained the food and service is mostly good. Today I ordered something completely wrong (thought it was Pad see Ew) There was a funky smell to it and I can't pinpoint.. I figured something was off about it so I asked the waiter if this was normal and she assured me it was. Then I realized I ordered something else (not pad see ew) I honestly couldn't stomach the smell or taste. I had taken one little bite. The original waiter I complained about it I took my food with no issues. After a minute or so another waiter came out she was being very rude and told me if I had ever ordered pad kee mow and I told her I mistook it for pad see ew. She then proceeded to tell me I still had to pay for the food I had ordered and looked very angry while looking at me. Which made me feel very uncomfortable and it was hard to eat my food because of the way she handled the situation. Any time I have witnessed people ordering something they don't like or even when my significant other orders something from any places and changes her mind because she doesn't like it everyone takes it back and asks if we'd like anything else. I would completely understand if all the food was eaten. I barely even tasted anything. The smell was off putting and I realized my mistake. The only reason why I'm giving them two stars is because they ended up not charging me for the pad kee mow and the pad Thai was delicious. I just hope no one else has to go through the awkward stares and the waiter being rude due to a mistake. UPDATE: 4/5/2023 I'm sad again, I had an horrible experience with Zab Thai. I completely understand tipping your waiters and waitresses. Well I pretty much got put on blast in front of everyone behind me and she complained to my co worker that I didn't tip on a TOGO order. I ordered with my co worker over the phone and placed a LUNCH SPECIAL TOGO order. Obviously I'm not going to tip when I didn't ask for delivery, or sat down in the restaurant to eat (no service was given) besides handing me my food ON TOP of that she forgot out forks and napkins. So, she forgot our utensils, napkins and had a bitchy attitude because I didn't tip on a Togo order. Zab Thai thinks they can lie and cheat their customers. I ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken through GrubHub. The menu on GrubHub and their own website describes it as "Grilled whole chicken marinated in special marinade sauce served with sweet and sour sauce and sticky rice." When it arrived, I opened the box to find a half chicken. I thought ok, simple mistake, right? I'll just call them and let them know I only got a half chicken instead of a whole. Everything was going just fine until they tried to tell me that "That's how we serve it." and "It's a big chicken." Are you kidding me? You can't call it a whole chicken if it's missing half it's mass! By definition, half of ANYTHING is not a whole. Look, I'm not trying to be mean. I understand if there was a typo on the menu and they really meant to say half. I would have been okay if they'd said something like, "Hey. How about that? The menu DOES say whole chicken. We're sorry about that. We're going to fix that on the menu right away and we're going to honor our word on this." Reasonable, right? No. Instead they chose to blame you, the customer, and imply that you are at fault because you are too stupid to understand that "whole" doesn't really mean what they want it to mean. I was told that the manager would call me back right away to address my complaint. That was almost an hour ago. I'm still waiting. I guess the one bright spot in this whole thing is that I didn't have to choke down any more of that dry, tasteless bird than I already did. Never ordering from here again. read more

Really pleased with my recent visit here! It was my first time in, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the lunch menu items at a good price for how much food we got! The Pad Thai noodles were just right - not too hard or soft. The starter soup I was not a fan of at all (some sort of coconut base with veggies in it) but that is personal preference. Lunch combos are a great way to try multiple items, but make sure to be clear about what what proteins you want for each item! The panang curry and pad Thai combo was ordered with tofu, but only the pad Thai had tofu in it - the curry still had chicken! In terms of other service, we didn't get too many water refills (which I desperately need when eating 3 stars) so that was disappointing. When checking out at the counter, I noticed a 18% gratuity was automatically added, but I'm unsure if this is only because I came in a large group. read more

Absolutely no reason to return . After waiting for AAA for over 2 hours hubby ran over and grabbed us dinner. Tasteless coconut shrimp. Taste was oil not even the small amount of sauce fixed it. My boyfriend talked this place up so much that I was honestly a bit skeptical. It turns out that he was spot on. We arrived around 11:15 A.M. on a Saturday and were seated right away. In fact, thanks to the snow and COVID, we had the place to ourselves the entire time. Service was friendly and timely from beginning to end, and the interior, including the women's restroom, was clean. Beginning the evening before, my boyfriend mentioned the crying tiger salad and the golden noodles with chicken, so we decided to split those dishes. He ordered a four for both, which turned out to be the perfect amount of heat. They were both so good that I'm not sure which I liked better. The cucumber in the salad paired perfectly with the dressing/sauce, and the noodles in the curry dish were both tender and flavorful.
