I came here because of the good reviews, but I honestly don't understand them. The baby back ribs were terrible -- the pork had a very strong, unpleasant smell, and I couldn't eat it at all. I've eaten a lot of pork, and I've never experienced meat that smelled this bad. The only decent dish was the Pad See Ew. The crab fried rice was bland and had almost no flavor. I ordered to go so I can't speak on how good their dine-in service is, but I was warmly greeted when I walked inside so if I had to guess I'd say it's satisfactory. When it comes to the ambiance, you can tell they certainly took their time & were intentional about the how they wanted the inside to look and feel. The only bad thing I have say about this restaurant has to do with pricing. To my surprise I learned they charge either $2 or $2.50 for steamed white rice when you order their curry, which made me hesitate for a second because rice should come standard with any curry dish or entree where rice is a common side. I also think their entree or "dinner" pricing is questionable. I paid $20.95 for the curry with prawns and rice & $27.95 for the golden duck without rice, which only came with about three pieces of al dente broccoli, one cauliflower and a few carrot slivers. I'm glad I decided to get two entrees because if I hadn't I'd have been hungry and upset, as the individual portions of the meals were rather small. This is my local go to! Me and my husband eat here too often! We recently discovered the green beans. Omg your life will change. A staple for us is fried rice any kind. Pad thai and pad se ew and curries. Also so flavorful and hit the spot! We used to always get the fresh rolls but they are too much lettuce not enough chewy noodles so we get the green beans now and they don't disappoint. Also Thai tea! I think this is the best Thai food in Everett. I've ordered to go and for dine in. All times have been excellent and food is consistent. Pad Thai, pad see ew, and catfish curry are our favorite dishes here. My last meal there, the waiter suggested yellow curry fried rice and that was very yummy. Staff are so kind and attentive. They mixed up the orders so bad neither was edible due to allergies. Called them and would not refund or fix the orders. I was so nice and they were rude raised their voice and said "you bad order wrong," whatever that meant as she shouted it at me multiple times. I am guessing she was frustrated as this happens often. I understand many taking orders at some restaurants that English is not their primary language, but they need to speak clearly enough to get orders right. I repeated the orders 3 times for her. Veggies didn't duplicate with Pad see ew, which is what I really like. Calamari, tasted fresh and NOT drenched in oil!!! I also liked their sauce which was unique to this restaurant. Brown rice, was the biggest bowl of brown rice! I hate it when restaurants only gives you one ice cream scoopful of rice. This was enough to feed 2 people and we still had leftovers! I liked that they had fresh tofu for my pad see ew, cause some places this is not an option. Oh and lastly, try their pepper tray if you like a little spice! FOOD - ordered the shrimp green curry. It was very salty! It was made with too much fish sauce. The green curry was very watery instead of being creamy and semthick. It was apparent that they're trying to stretch the curry and coconut milk by adding water. Rice was subpar. It seems like it was day old rice. Also ordered the basil, shrimp fried rice which was flavorless. Waitress messed up on two orders: ordered rolled shrimp roll got instead the coconut shrimp. Delivery review. This is another one of those times where we strain ourselves trying to remember where we got this great dish or that cool thing, and still aren't totally sure even after digging around on the apps. And that's because I neglected to write stuff down from before in a review. So here we are, again, with me trying to organize my thoughts about local places I've ordered from multiple times and still can't keep straight in my head. It's probably just as well the chicken we were going to cook smelled funny. This turned out to be a great dinner. Stuffed Chicken Wings Definitely the most surprising and interesting item on the menu. Probably not a complete rarity, but this was the first time we tried it. I have to say it cooled off a fair bit even in a shot car ride, and even though the breading was still in good shape, it probably lost some of what was likely an airier crunch when it was fresh from the kitchen. Still great, though, and we devoured every bite. Breading had good flavor, as did the stuffing, and the chicken was still nice and moist and tender. Tom Yum This one didn't stand out for good or for bad--it's a solid interpretation of a soup that for lots of us is a familiar old favorite. A bit on the sweet side but still easy to wipe out even the big serving they sent. Yum Eggplant A nice lettuce-based salad with big chunks of cucumber and tomato. Prawns more noticeable than eggplant, but that's okay. Everything here seemed priced on the high side, but this is the craziest price to food cost ratio out of all of them. This is a basic salad with a few bites of a couple nice ingredients, and it's $16. Princess Snow Pea I saw snow peas and baby corn and all that, and I suddenly couldn't resist. I know, I know, it's basically the stir-fry we first make when we're getting our bearings in the kitchen and making our first stir-fry. Maybe that's why it seemed like such a great choice. It paid off! Nice juicy chicken, tons of nice seasoning, a mild kick of heat at 5 stars. (I like a lot of spice). Without rice, this was a tiny portion for $16 but the flavors were great and the appetizers we ordered helped fill me up. Bottom line, these guys are fast, and they execute the food really well. Prices seem a bit out of whack with the underlying food cost, but lots of places are raising prices on delivery apps and that's how we got our food. I won't put these guys in the #1 spot for Thai locally but they never disappoint and I'm always happy to order their food again. read more

The owner was very friendly and all the employees were so hospitable. This Thai place might be the best in the PNW, if not, the whole world. The main star of the show was the Crying Tiger. We also ordered the mixed vegetables, the only veg was broccoli, cabbage, snow peas and onions. No carrots, no peppers, no mushrooms. And 4 star spice is the same as 2 star spice. Best Thai fodd I've had in a really long time! They actually had duck. Anytime i try to order duck any place else, they never have it. I was so happy to be able to order the duck, AND it was amazing, juicy, and flavorful. All of the food choices I tried there were bursting with flavor. The service was great. They came to check on me often enough but also allowed me to enjoy my experience. I wish I had gotten pictures of the establishment because it is really cute. Their Door Dash menu and their website menu are different. I thought I ordered the Crispy Garlic Chicken like on the Door Dash website. Instead I got Garlic Chicken. The Garlic Chicken is pretty weird. You get some odd soupy looking chicken service HOT over lettuce, so now you got soupy chicken over gross wilted lettuce. However, the CRISPY Garlic Chicken is amazing and not served over weird wilted lettuce. read more

Already came back the second time to Lanna Thai! And they didn't disappoint at all! Service was awesome the first time and also the second time. Our server was super nice and made sure we were doing okay with our food and refilled our water whenever we needed it. You can never go wrong on ordering some delicious Pad See Ew, I got the chicken with 2 star spicy and it was perfect! The flavor was there and the thing I like about Lanna is they use Chinese broccoli, instead of regular broccoli! It taste a lot better. I also got their Chicken Larb Gai(2 star), in my opinion if you do order this dish, make sure to order some sticky rice on the side to eat with it because it only comes with cabbage and it wasn't great with just cabbage. But the Larb was delicious! The only thing that I would want the restaurant to work on is the bathroom. I don't know if is just the men's bathroom but it has such a horrible toilet smell where it's not pleasant to go in there at all. So I hope they will try and clean their bathroom and make it smells nicer so that customers aren't losing their appetite when entering the bathroom. read more

Our first time at Lanna Thai. Our initial impression was very good. The outdoor appearance, the entry and the interior décor was very appealing. Great architecture and finishes. Really top quality. It was a Monday evening so there were very few customers. We counted approximately 6 tables occupied. There were only 2 folks working the front end of the restaurant. We were greeted and received water by one man. Semi friendly, but the vibe was off.....not feeling welcomed and no warm feeling was conveyed. The other man that was our waiter was less than friendly....very cool demeanor. He was wearing a mask and spoke in a heavy accent that made it difficult to understand him. We did not feel welcome. The food was quite good with the spice level spot on. We ordered beverages and prawn wrap appetizers that were quite good. For our main dishes we ordered Phad Thai w/chicken, red curry w/pork , white rice side, pineapple fried rice all 3 stars. Very, very good food. Portions a bit on the small side, but quality food. Our overall impression was we will come back but we strongly suggest that they have a young lady hostess for greeting and seating. The man with the mask seemed kind of angry. Almost disturbing. He needs training or keep him in the back of the restaurant. The waitstaff needs to be warm, friendly and set the tone for a dining experience. Not just dropping off food..... We tell it like it is. I didn't like the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the food was good so I will give it 3 stars. Starting with the food. We ordered 3 dishes. We got the panang curry, thai fried rice with beef, and the pad thai. I really enjoyed the pad thai. The slightly chewy noodles were perfect, and the sauce was good (not ketchupy like some of my least favorite thai places). The fried rice was good too. It doesn't have a strong flavor but I didn't mind that. The panang curry was okay. It didn't stand out much from other curries that I've had before, but the people I dined with really enjoyed this one. The reason I didn't particularly care for the atmosphere was that it felt really empty. We came in around noon on a weekend and there was only one other couple dining in. I might be biased because I was feeling pretty cold when I walked in. So when I sat down and felt a cold draft, I didn't feel enticed to stay and eat.
