    Green curry lunch combo.
    Jennifer J.

I found myself in Snohomish during the lunch hour recently, and was excited to finally get a chance to check out Thai and Taps! I've heard great things about them over the years, and they didn't disappoint. This is a tiny little restaurant inside what appears to be an old house, in historic downtown Snohomish. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in friendly service and delicious food. I ordered green curry chicken off the lunch menu, which also included white rice and pad thai - all were yummy. And even though it was a lunch special, the portion was so huge I couldn't even finish it! They also have several beers on tap, though I didn't imbibe on this particular trip. It does seem like a cold pint and spicy Thai food would make an excellent combination. By the way, they also have a large outdoor seating area, which essentially doubles their seating capacity. It was a little cold out there during my visit, but it would be a lovely place to enjoy Thai food (and do some people watching) on a warmer day.

    Salmon Panang Curry, $22.95 – 2.5 Stars

Walking around historic downtown in Snohomish, I should have known better than to go to a Thai restaurant. There are two in the area. This is the less busy location with a surprisingly high rating of 4.5. I decided - why not. ("Not" would have been the better answer.) Stepping in, only one out of six table is occupied. Their interior has six tables, plus more outside. They have a reasonable flow of takeout orders. The place is modestly decorated; everything looks clean overall. The staff is very nice, offering to answer questions. The Food: Phad Thai with chicken, $13.99 - 2.5 Stars I very disappointedly give this a 2.5 stars rating. Phad Thai is every Thai restaurant's baseline. Gotta get this right. The noodles were just a tad overcooked in that limp and lifeless way. The dish lacked "flame" or wok-hei. I would have given this a 2 stars rating, except it is a heaping, big plate of food for 14 bucks. It's easily 1.5 to 2 meals for many people. I like that they didn't use ketchup in the sauce to give it the fake red color. Salmon Panang Curry, $22.95 - 2.5 Stars The salmon is overcooked, and the curry is runny thin without enough Panang flavor and nowhere near the 4-stars spiciness that I requested. The steamed broccoli is a good bonus, but I really could have used more flavorful and thicker sauce to appreciate the broccoli and the rice. Instead, I was stuffing small bits of the overcooked salmon into the sauce trying to re-tenderize each bite. It was exhausting, and I stopped eating about halfway through and decided to fix the dish at home using more Panang curry paste. Realistically, I should be giving them a 2 Stars rating overall. I know I will never come back for their food. But they are very nice people, and their prices are much lower than what I pay in the Eastside (south of Snohomish, of course). I decided to round up to 3 Stars.

If you love Thai food or never had it before, don't miss this local gem in downtown Snohomish. Located a block from the main downtown strip, Thai and Taps offers all the standards; fresh ingredients, very generous portions; everything I ordered was delicious, well prepared & presented. Don't forget to quench your thirst with a sweet Thai iced tea or coffee & the selection of craft beers on tap. Not a fancy place but casual, local vibe with friendly service and a meal that won't disappoint. Limited but free parallel street parking; indoor & covered outdoor porch dining with heat lamps. Support your local small businesses & restaurants.

I really wish it were possible to give this place a million stars. Like, my taste buds are 100% okay with them taking all my money, just take it all. This is one of my most favorite restaurants in the state of Washington. The food is amazing hands down. The service is excellent, the prices are very fair for delicious Thai food and you really are doing yourself a disservice to not have had their mango sticky rice when it's in season. It's truly a season in your mouth... I'm drooling just thinking about it. I wish my relative owned this place so they could come make me food at holidays. Anyways, go try this place! You won't regret it! Ok

    Food handler violations!

Watched staff handle large amounts of hamburger behind the restaurant mixing it together with bare hands on a table behind the dumpster. Then watched her portion it out into bags by hand without gloves on, some of the hamburger fell on the ground and she picked it up and lifted the dumpster lid to toss it without gloves. Then she went back to touching the raw hamburger with bare hands!!!!!

Thai and Taps is located in downtown Snohomish in a converted house. We visited for dinner and though the staff members were super friendly, the food was A-OK. We arrived on a Saturday night before 7pm and were able to be seated immediately. However, soon after we arrived the place quickly filled. The space itself is small, with just a few tables set up for dining in. I did notice that many people were getting takeout here and you can make a reservation for a group. Thai and Taps features all the classic Thai entrees, with some plates that were other Asian dishes, like teriyaki and wonton soup. We started with the fresh spring rolls and I ordered the Thai noodle soup with chicken for my entrée. The dishes came out once they were ready. The Thai noodle soup had a nice beefy broth, served with rice noodles, chicken, sprouts and romaine lettuce, which was confusing. I've never heard of romaine lettuce in a soup or ever served heated up, so that was off putting. I think if they had chosen spinach or bok choy for the soup, it would've tasted much better. The chicken was fine, but the portion was small. I ordered my entrée with four-star heat, which it was. There was also very few shrimp pieces in the fresh spring rolls, so it was mostly lettuce and rice noodles. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it was far from the best.

Always great service and great food here. One of our favorite thai places in Snohomish.

Great spot. First time and I will definitely be coming back. My friend and I shared the wonton soup, a apps platter, and pad thai. The server checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. They have indoor or outdoor seating options and parking can vary depending on how busy it is.

We started with the pumpkin tempura. It was crispy on the outside, with a naturally sweet pumpkin inside. It was really delicious. It came with a dipping sauce, though the portion felt quite small. The side of lettuce and a chunk of purple cabbage felt a bit odd presentation wise, but once we wrapped everything together and dipped it, it tasted great. For my main, I ordered the vegan herb tofu salad with medium spice. It was mostly fried tofu tossed in a herb dressing with mint, tamarind, and cilantro. The flavor was a mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy. It honestly reminded me a bit of pani puri. That said, the sweetness was a bit overpowering and made the dish slightly sticky. If they toned that down, it would be perfect. We also tried the vegan 17th curry fried rice, which was good. The curry flavor was subtle. My toddler absolutely loved it. Overall, I would recommend this place, especially for vegans. The food was good, with the only downside being that some dishes leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. The service was okay, not exceptional, but not bad either. I had visited this place about three years ago on a busy Friday night and had a pretty poor service experience, so I wanted to give it another shot on a weekday. The food has improved, and the service was decent this time around.

When we asked for hot water, she gave half a cup of hot water and was pouting about it. It was apparent that she was overwhelmed as she was the only server and cook. We were surprised that she served the other table of 3 bahn mis though. We will never come back to this place. By the way, she didn't even give us spoons. When we asked her for spoons, she took them from another table where there were people sitting. Out of 8 spoons, 3 of them were dirty so much so that they were unusable. Horrible service and less than mediocre pho.

We ordered the pork bao sliders, Mongolian beef, drunken chicken, pad see ew and garlic noodles. Pork bao sliders were good. Wish I had a tad bit more hoisin sauce on it. I share the same sentiment as others on here that the Mongolian beef was definitely on the sweeter side but it was still pretty good in its own right. I wouldn't consider it Mongolian beef though. Drunken chicken was good. Pad see ew was not what I would consider pad see ew either. It resembled chow funn, but less oily and more sweet. Definitely not your typical pad see ew you get from authentic Thai restaurants. Garlic noodles was good. The service was fast and we got our food fast. Portion sizes were pretty large.
