Second time trying this Thai spot and was pretty average. We got the chicken pad Thai 4 star and pad see yew 4 star. Both weren't that flavorful or spicy. It was also a little dry but maybe because we got it to go. The pad see yew also tasted a lot like oyster sauce which is unusual for how many times I've had it other places. I found myself in Snohomish during the lunch hour recently, and was excited to finally get a chance to check out Thai and Taps! I've heard great things about them over the years, and they didn't disappoint. This is a tiny little restaurant inside what appears to be an old house, in historic downtown Snohomish. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in friendly service and delicious food. I ordered green curry chicken off the lunch menu, which also included white rice and pad thai - all were yummy. And even though it was a lunch special, the portion was so huge I couldn't even finish it! They also have several beers on tap, though I didn't imbibe on this particular trip. It does seem like a cold pint and spicy Thai food would make an excellent combination. By the way, they also have a large outdoor seating area, which essentially doubles their seating capacity. It was a little cold out there during my visit, but it would be a lovely place to enjoy Thai food (and do some people watching) on a warmer day. read more

My tom kha soup tasted good, but it was more watery than I prefer. I wouldn't order it again, but I would definitely go back to try another dish. Everyone I ate with enjoyed their meal. Thai and Taps is a solid Thai spot in Snohomish. They have online ordering, parking isn't too bad, and I've never had any complaints about their food. I've been to T&T maybe 4-5 times since it opened a couple years ago. I've dined in and picked up take-out. Both experiences were great. The service was fast and efficient -- no frills, taking orders/filling drinks/etc. The inside is very bright and nice on a sunny day and they have some covered, outdoor seating on their patio. I think when the weather is bad, they don't have people out there, though. I usually get American-popular-dishes... like Crispy Garlic Chicken and Phad Thai, and it's always been great. Like most places, they let you order most stuff on a spicy-scale from 1 to 5 stars (where 5 stars is the spiciest). I've had their version of 5-stars and it's not over-the-top or anything... just a normal, American-friendly Thai place. The food is always super hot and fresh, though -- and they pack it well (in styrofoam and a plastic bag), so it stays nice and hot until I get home or wherever I'm going. So... appreciate that, even though it's a bit eco-unfriendly. Parking is usually pretty good on Ave A. where they're located. There's a weird, Bank of America ATM kiosk thing next door that is a convenient spot to temporarily park when there's nothing else available. They also usually have at least one "15 min parking" spot nearby for curbside/take-out purposes, so thats super nice and always convenient. I've been here during lunch and dinner and never had a problem getting parking nearby -- maybe it's a quieter street or something. Online ordering is through the "Smile Dining" platform. Their menu is accurate, there's lots of places to put customizations, and I've never had an issue with an order being missed or late or something. So... A+ there. Overall... I really couldn't ask for anything more than Thai and Taps. Actually, one thing I've never explored is the "Taps" part of their name - i'm not certain they have a large, craft beer menu or anything. This is the less busy location with a surprisingly high rating of 4.5. I decided - why not. ("Not" would have been the better answer.) Stepping in, only one out of six table is occupied. Their interior has six tables, plus more outside. They have a reasonable flow of takeout orders. The place is modestly decorated; everything looks clean overall. The staff is very nice, offering to answer questions. The Food: Phad Thai with chicken, $13.99 - 2.5 Stars I very disappointedly give this a 2.5 stars rating. Phad Thai is every Thai restaurant's baseline. Gotta get this right. The noodles were just a tad overcooked in that limp and lifeless way. The dish lacked "flame" or wok-hei. I would have given this a 2 stars rating, except it is a heaping, big plate of food for 14 bucks. It's easily 1.5 to 2 meals for many people. I like that they didn't use ketchup in the sauce to give it the fake red color. Salmon Panang Curry, $22.95 - 2.5 Stars The salmon is overcooked, and the curry is runny thin without enough Panang flavor and nowhere near the 4-stars spiciness that I requested. The steamed broccoli is a good bonus, but I really could have used more flavorful and thicker sauce to appreciate the broccoli and the rice. Instead, I was stuffing small bits of the overcooked salmon into the sauce trying to re-tenderize each bite. It was exhausting, and I stopped eating about halfway through and decided to fix the dish at home using more Panang curry paste. Realistically, I should be giving them a 2 Stars rating overall. I know I will never come back for their food. But they are very nice people, and their prices are much lower than what I pay in the Eastside (south of Snohomish, of course). Came in today because a fellow payed food critic of mine told me this spot had great authentic Pad Thai, and after trying it I can say for sure these guys have the absolute BEST in the area. The flavor is close to what you would experience abroad, although I will say the 5 star spice rating is Americanized and the spiciest option is still pretty mild. Watched staff handle large amounts of hamburger behind the restaurant mixing it together with bare hands on a table behind the dumpster. Then watched her portion it out into bags by hand without gloves on, some of the hamburger fell on the ground and she picked it up and lifted the dumpster lid to toss it without gloves. Thai and Taps is located in downtown Snohomish in a converted house. We visited for dinner and though the staff members were super friendly, the food was A-OK. We arrived on a Saturday night before 7pm and were able to be seated immediately. However, soon after we arrived the place quickly filled. The space itself is small, with just a few tables set up for dining in. I did notice that many people were getting takeout here and you can make a reservation for a group. Thai and Taps features all the classic Thai entrees, with some plates that were other Asian dishes, like teriyaki and wonton soup. We started with the fresh spring rolls and I ordered the Thai noodle soup with chicken for my entrée. The dishes came out once they were ready. The Thai noodle soup had a nice beefy broth, served with rice noodles, chicken, sprouts and romaine lettuce, which was confusing. I've never heard of romaine lettuce in a soup or ever served heated up, so that was off putting. I think if they had chosen spinach or bok choy for the soup, it would've tasted much better. The chicken was fine, but the portion was small. I ordered my entrée with four-star heat, which it was. There was also very few shrimp pieces in the fresh spring rolls, so it was mostly lettuce and rice noodles. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it was far from the best. read more

Ordered nearly $40 worth of food to my location where I am holding an open house where I can't just leave. They packed ZERO utensils and refused to bring anything to me to be able to eat their food. They refused to let me speak with a manager and I can hear the teenager saying "what should I say, should I just tell them you're not here?". Terrible experience. Total waste of money. My husband and I have placed takeout orders a couple of times and have been pleased every time! The food is consistently delicious, and if you're looking for it can pack a punch. Since we haven't dined in, we can't comment on their beer selection but from what I remember they had bodi's. It can get costly but honestly I don't mind for the quality and consistency. Great Thai spot in the Snohomish area, went a bit out of my way to visit and was pleased. I think it's one of two Thai places around the area? My usual go-tos are in the U-District area and this place was comparable in quality. I received much more than I expected so quantity is definitely a plus. All of the typical pad options (thai, see ew, the street food options) are standard, nothing is surprising but still delicious. Another friend got the curry and felt like there wasn't enough rice with just the two scoops included (i.e. more curry than rice balance). It felt like the spiciness was a bit lower than other places (2 stars here would be 1 star elsewhere), might be worth keeping in mind. Though err on the side of caution if you're concerned, may just been my visit. Not overwhelmingly saucy which I personally prefer, so that was awesome. Four stars is for slightly above average, nothing that blew my mind besides the quantity but would definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

I love Thai food and I'm impressed that Snohomish now has not one, but two, Thai restaurants. When I saw that this spot had opened since my last hometown visit, I immediately knew that I'd have to check it out. I planned a dinner with friends on a nice early June day and the weather ended up being nearly perfect (could have been a few degrees warmer but I have San Diego blood after living there for almost 11 years) for sitting on the patio. It took about 20 minutes for our table for 10 to be ready but we just spent the time catching up outside. Once we were seated, we were able to use our phones to scan the QR code on the table to view the menu. This is a cool feature that I hope more restaurants adopt even post-covid. I'm not sure why I bothered to look at the menu here though because I almost always order the exact same dish at Thai restaurants: beef pad see iew with no veggies and a Thai iced tea. This noodle dish is up there with the best that I've ever had, and I've had a lot. The sauce was extra flavorful and the beef was cooked really well, not chewy or fatty at all. My only regret is that I ran out of time on my trip to finish my leftovers. Needless to say, I'm a big fan and will be adding this to my list of must-eats whenever I come back to Snohomish. read more

This is the second time we've been here in 6 months. Both experience were the same. The place is very bright with beautiful decor... very cool light fixtures over some of the tables. The staff is very polite and very efficient. The service for getting food and your food is very timely... always with a smile. The problem is the taste of the food. It's very bland... pick a dish... Its doesn't have the authentic flavors of a lot of other traditional Thai restaurants. For example: the fresh Spring Rolls are mostly lettuce with little filling. The rice wrappers are stretched too much from the lettuce and are not wrapped tightly... The rolls fall apart in your hands as you are trying to eat them. We'll probably come back in another 6 months and see if they have improved. read more

This was not a great experience, we sat down thankfully we had reservations because I could tell they were busy. The food was okay the service was awful, we ordered 4 dishes plus and appetizer. One plate came out and this is family style, mind you we had already placed a drink order. Our glasses were empty because we drank the water, that was already poured when we arrived, then had to ask for our drinks and more water. Then finally two more plates came out, then notice our glasses hadn't been washed and still had food particles in the glasses. This was after a long wait for the food, by this time we were hungry and thirsty. The other couple we went with thankfully were great to be with as we had great conversation to pass the time, by now we have 3 of the four plates we ordered and now had to ask for the 4 plate as the person who invited us still hasn't eaten. After numerous asks for drinks and food reminders like where is our order? from the owner to the waitress serving us it was an awful experience, the food was alright. The place only sits 16 people inside, the other eating area is outside with heaters but it was windy and raining, I can handle that as long as I'm inside, but the waitress and owner kept leaving the front door open and the guest would have to get up from rating and close the door because its was pretty cold outside. I wouldn't go back for Thai food there, there are way too many places that offer better service and same quality of food. read more

I am super disappointed as I used to love this place. I have no idea what happened The crab Rangoon was unremarkable and unevenly cooked. The Massamam curry made me think I had Covid as there was zero flavor and the potatoes and onions were hard. The street food dish with the Friday egg looked cool but had so much lemon and salt in it that it was only barely edible if you really covered it in the white rice. The waitress didn't ask us once how the food was. The kitchen was so loud with laughter and conversation that the ambience was completely lost. We were the only ones in the entire restaurant and we will never return tragically... thank goodness there's other Thai options and Snohomish that are super yummy. read more

You can see the kitchen from the tables and it looks very shiny and clean! The food came out fast and it was SO good! I got the Beef Pad Thai and my boyfriend got the Orange Chicken. Food was super hot when it came out and in big portions! Enough for a full meal of leftovers. I also ordered a Thai Tea. I might just stop in sometimes to get a glass on a hot day walking around town. The staff was so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed our meal. I will say that I ordered 2/5 spice and my boyfriend 4/5 spice and there was no spice at all. Maybe they forgot? Kee maw was the best I've had in Seattle (although I've only been here half a year). Garlic chicken was a bit soggy when I had it but flavor was still there. Phad ka pao I thought was the worst dish but then I tried it together with the rice and it made the rice fragrant and delicious. Adorable little house turned restaurant with cute decor. Food was awesome- fresh ingredients made to order- heard the wok going full speed out back with probably mom as the chef. Had the chicken satay which was made with the breast flavorful and juicy - came with warm homemade peanut sauce. Also had fresh rolls were that were fantastic. Lunch specials were plentiful- had the pad see lew- 4 star. Came with 2 pieces of your choice appetizer ( Rangoon, spring rolls or gyoza. ) overall great food for the price!
