I expected the same when ordering from noppakao Thai restaurant so I ordered for pick up. When I arrived I was greeted with respect and a smile that all should expect from any business. The food was hot and excellent with a great portion of food that exceeded my expectations for the price I paid. Visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. We were seated immediately. We ordered the Golden Noodles with chicken, Pad Thai with chicken and the kids Chicken Satay with Rice. The food arrived very quickly and we can say that it was freshly cooked. All 3 items tasted good, however we liked the Golden Noodles the most. The noodles in golden noodles were thick and soft. All items were not too oily and very well cooked. The chicken satay was not spicy and a great item for kids (due to portion size and not being spicy). The ambiance is well decorated and quiet. The large first tank was their center of attraction. The best part about this restaurant are the staff - very friendly and welcoming. Noppakao is a nice Thai restaurant. We usually get take out and it is always good. It looks like some reviews were not happy with quality, but that has not been our experience. This time, I ordered chicken satay and the Thai fried rice. The chicken satay is generous. The chicken was cooked just right (not dried out) with a nice peanut sauce. Then I liked the fried rice with chicken. For me, it could have had more broccoli and onion, but the chicken again was good and the flavors were great. We will continue going here. read more

The boat noodles were watery and lacked that rich, beefy punch you expect--no depth, no spice, just kind of flat. The curry (we had both red and green) tasted more like sweet coconut soup than anything remotely balanced or aromatic. And the pad kee mao? Wonderfully nice. Noppakao is a nice family Thai restaurant in a nice neighborhood . It is a nice place to go (to dine in or take out) whether you are looking for lunch or dinner. The dining room is nice, not fancy, not over-the-top, not extravagant, but nice. It is clean, in good repair, but starting to get dated; it's nice. The staff is nice, attentive, and friendly. The menu is nice. It offers a complete variety of Thai dishes without wandering from its Thai roots. The pricing is nice, good value. The dinners were nice, not over-the-top fancy, but nice. Food showed up quickly and as ordered, with one exception that was actually a nice turn of events. Tiger Cries This looked a lot more like what most places call a Waterfall Salad, but it was delicious regardless. We ordered 3 stars and it had a nice kick. Very tender and flavorful beef, lots of fresh crunchy veg around, good tart dressing, bright green basil sprigs. I order this dish almost every place that has it, and even if this was possibly a mixup, it still hit the spot for sure. Phad Thai Another boring comfort-food choice by us. 3 stars. Mild tingle of spice on the finish. Nice chew to the noodle, plenty of chicken, plenty of veg, good balance of sweet, heat, and tart. Easily repeatable, and there's enough for leftovers, so I guess it's already a repeater. Diamond Cashew Pretty heavy on the broth, but still great. 5 stars, definitely not the hottest but enough heat to amplify the flavor. Plenty of tender, tasty chicken, decent amount of mushrooms, nuts, and a little veg. Not the hugest serving but tasted really good. The food was excellent. Each of the people who I interacted with were exceptionally nice & professional. A huge consideration for me is being able to get gluten-free and have it truly be gluten-free. The 3 other Thai restaurants I've tried in Kirkland have told me they could make an item gluten-free, yet I've always reacted, however at Noppakao no reaction, my meal was truly gluten-free. Stopped going here a few years ago, haven't been back and haven't missed it. It was very inconsistent and therefore overpriced for how inconsistent it was, but mainly due to one man who always worked the hostess stand & handled takeout. He was always such a jerk that he ruined it for us. things like us adding spice to our kids' pad thai or thai fried rice, he'd argue that there could be no spice since it was for a kid....? He never greeted anyone and was irritated to seat people at a table. It was so obvious he hated his job. Perhaps the management was either related to him, or were clueless to his behavior. It's a bummer because it's minutes from our house, but we'd rather drive to other nearby thai spots with friendlier service, more consistent cooks and more competitive pricing read more

Been getting food from here a handful of times already, no complaints the food was flavorful. What I do have a problem with is the last customer service experience I had with them. I was driving in my car doing god knows what (probably errands or something) when I attempted to call in my order. I figured by time I got there it would be about ready. When the restaurant answered, they asked me to hold for a moment so I obliged. Since I was in my car driving already making a hands-free call, it wasn't a big deal to wait on hold. So I waited, and I waited, and I waited. I wasn't even on actual phone hold, I could hear people talking in the background. What I heard was employees shooting the breeze having fun and talking, no urgent toggling or multitasking between in-person orders or transactions and the person on the phone. I looked down at my call timer and it said the call had been running for twelve minutes. Seriously? They either forgot about me or didn't care, and I could hear their casual conversation as if they had nothing to do. I had to SALT the dishes I ordered recently! They were basically tasteless with undercooked vegetables. I've never had to salt Thai food. I'd say this is a decent Thai restaurant in the little town of Mill Creek. It's easy to get to, plenty of parking, and nicely decorated. We came here on a Sunday afternoon shortly after 11:30, and it was completely dead, granted the Seahawks were playing. Our server was very attentive, but I wouldn't say that he had the friendliest demeanor. There were three of us and we ordered tom yum soup, pad Thai, and pad se ew. The soup had a pungent fish sauce smell -which I absolutely loathed - but other members of my party enjoyed it regardless. In addition, the pad se ew seemed to be drenched in soy sauce and the noodles a tad mushy. However, I thought the pad thai had a nice balance of tamarind and sweetness to it. In the end, this isn't exactly the place I would rush to dine at again. I also thought the big candy bowl near the cashier with the huge sign "PLEASE PAY FOR CANDY" a tad weird. But, if I were ever in the area and had a sensational craving for Thai food, I wouldn't cross this place off my list. read more

I use to absolutely love this place when I lived in the area years ago and now that I'm back I wanted to try it again. I called in an order for picked and the guy that answered was short and sounded like he really didn't want to be there, he said my food would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 23 minutes later and half of my order was done and I heard him say to the chef what about the golden noodle which the chef started to cook and I had to ask of it was going to be a few minutes and the guy said 1 minute instead of being honest with an item being forgotten. Such a terrible experience and horrible customer service. My family and I ordered delivery for dinner ( we have eaten here and gotten delivery on more than one occasion from this location before) however this time the food was terrible. While the food arrived hot, all 5 dishes had absolutely zero flavor. We ordered spice level 2, however the food had no spice and no flavor whatsoever. Because we spent about $200 on dinner in total we called as the quality was not where it has been before, we were simply told to "order higher spice level next time if we wanted flavor". Truthfully the food didn't even taste like any salt was even used. My aunt proceeded to go in person to the restaurant to see if anything could be done as this was a very disappointing experience, they refused to do anything. We will never eat here again. In a time and age where customer service is so important to establishments success, clearly it is not a priority here. read more

I really like their lunch specials which give you a good amount of food for a fair price. My go to lunch order is the Cashew Nut Chicken which comes with Rice and pad-thai. Sad to say that I have been a good customer of this place for a number of years, enjoying both take-out and well as dining in. NOT any more. I ordered a simple PadKraPao for take-out and the man on the phone asked if I wanted basil, so I said yes. Then he asked what type of rice I wanted. This hit me as a bit strange but since he asked, I answered. Well, I got home to find out they did NOT make a PadKraPao as described on their menu. They had completed omitted any noodles from the dish. Only time in 10 years...oh, and yes, I have been to Thailand to enjoy this dish also. Anyway, a simple phone turns into an unbelievable noxious argument with the idiot Michael who explains how this is my fault by answering yes to his question about adding thai basil, and the refuses to make it right. Tells me I need to bring it back, duh. I asked to talk to the manager. I think he lied, but the manage never called. To make things worse the food was so bland and dry, I've eaten there many times and nothing is ever consistent. Definitely didn't make the food right or give me what I asked for. Ambience was good. Food - Not worth the money and uneatable. We ordered Chicken pad kee mao, basil fried rice & Larb gai (chicken in cucumber cup. picture looked attractive!). Chicken was uncooked in all of our food and spice level was uneatable though we ordered 3 (scale of 1-5). Larb gai was severed as shredded chicken with cucumber slices instead of cucumber cups (which was described in the menu). The plates were really dirty as well. Customer service - Need some serious help. We went with a toddler and specifically asked for medium spice but ended up not feeding at all. When told about the uncooked chicken, the owner and chef came to us and said they can do nothing about it. When we asked about spice level, nobody even cared about it.
