Big fans of Benjarong all day long! Frequent this place once per week sometimes even 2 times a week. If we are not feeling well, their soups are our big time lifesaver! Hubby never gets tired of his 3 star Tom Kah with tofu plus a side of white jasmine rice. It may seem too light as a meal but my hubby always have leftovers. Love the perfectly balanced broth with creamy coconut cream infused against the bright lemongrass flavor. It's his absolute favorite and he would not get anything else even though he likes curry and phad kee mao. I can see why.. My eyes always get big when I have a taste of his soup it certainly wakes up taste buds in the most pleasant way! This soup goes perfect with rice! White rice!There's a milder Benjarong special soup with dumplings I got when I get sick it's a light broth with lots of veggies and minced chicken meat and bean thread noodles in a light broth it was delish as well if you want a mild flavor soup. You can get extra noodles for a charge if you want to have it as a full on noodle bowl meal. I usually like to try different things. Sometimes, I order phad kee mao if I want that bold basil flavor with slabs of flat rice noodles. At other times, I really enjoy their phad woon sen with its mild savory sauce infused throughout the bean thread noodles. I ask for their thai chili condiments caddy and douse more chili sauce and chili/fish sauce for an extra kick which take it to the next level. I get it in vegetarian and ask for extra fresh tofu. Sounds boring but it's craveable. I also get their eggplant dish or garlic delight they are delish as well. Their menu is large enough there's bound to be a favorite for all. The appetizers have always been spot on. Love the grilled thai flavors on the big hunks of chicken satay ask for peanut sauce! Succulent!! You can't go wrong with their classic fresh rolls they are always perfectly made and the fresh crunch against the warm and lightly sweet peanut sauce it is to die for. Lastly, my hubby's new love is the calamari. This is not your typical calamari app as it's perfectly fried without being oily. We love biting into the big chunks of squid rings you can hear the crunch with each bite. The tangy glaze with sprinkled peanuts is perfect for dipping. Get this! Service wise, it has always been a delightful experience for dine in and door dash every time. Love the quiet ambience with their private booths and nice decor. Like they offer quality Asian loose leaf teas and zero percent beer. St Pauli is decent. The owner Panu, wife, and staffs have always been very kind and efficient in providing decent service! One of our favorite Thai places around. Everything is always delicious. The skewers are amazing, one of the best items I've had at any Thai restaurant. Their curry is delicious too, it's my go to at all restaurants. The servers are amazing as well. We moved to Monroe recently and have been to Benjarong many times in the last year. We can't speak to the entirety of the menu as it's quite large, but there is one thing Benjarong makes that is worth the trip: Panang Curry. Get it as spicy as you can handle, and I recommend beef for the meat but I'm sure they're all good. I've been to many, many thai places around the USA. This panang curry is right up there with the very best. I hate when people leave a positive review but don't say what the best items are, so there it is: get the panang curry. Ok so here goes. I don't eat out often so when I do I consider it a treat. Tonight I decided to take my mom out for a treat for dinner. We both worked hard on house chores so we "deserved it". We chose Thai food and we wanted to stay local. The yelp reviews looked good so we wanted to give this spot a try. I ordered an IPA. I asked for a splash of OJ in my beer. Strike 1 they said they couldn't do that. I imagined it was because they didn't have orange juice on tap. They said they did have orange juice, but I would have to order an entire order of orange juice which at that point I said OK oh well sure I'll take an order of orange juice. I figured id just pour some into my beer. To my surprise, I did get my IPA beer and I also got my full-size orange juice which was poured in a normal glass and it was just orange juice from concentrate. Whack, they could have easily accommodated my request for a brass monkey beer. OK whatever. Strike two is we ordered several plates to share and we asked for no spice on any plate because my mother has a severe low tolerance for spice. When the fried rice came, it was noticeably spicy to my mother, she could not eat it so we were going to attempt to return it at which point the owner was ready to come back and tell us absolutely not and we just had to deal with it. I didn't want to start any problems so I decided to just keep the plate to de-escalate, but we had to sacrifice our dinner and my mother was not able to fulfill her appetite. I will note that the soup we ordered was delicious and the garlic pork ribs were delicious. The reason for my rating is because the staff is absolutely disconnected from customer service and not tuned into the customer satisfaction. They simply did not care and it was apparent. read more

My adopted home town is one most people in the Seattle metro are just drive through. And for those that haven't stopped over yet it's hard not to spot Benjarong at the intersection of Hwy 2 and Lewis St. A longtime state of the town, they offer a large and delicious menu of great Thai food served with efficient and friendly service. Despite being one of only 2-3 parties (max) in the restaurant at that time, well weren't attended to quickly or frequently. We ordered two pretty typical lunch combination plates: Pad Thai & Yellow Curry. The portions of the main entrees were smaller than expected but the plates appeared generous due to a greater helping of rice. To give an example of the perceived quality of the food, the yellow curry had a so-so taste since it was a little too watery. This was our dinner stop before arriving to Leavenworth and was pleasantly surprised. It's super convenient as it's right next to the freeway. The place was actually pretty busy when we arrive but we were able to get seated right away. We ordered: Fresh rolls: I actually like the rolls here cause they don't put a lot of the noodles. And the noodles are super tiny (it's not the normal type of noodles you see in fresh rolls). The sauce they used was on the sweeter side of things so I had to add some hot sauce to help cut down the sweetness. Halibut Pana: oooooh the curry is amazing, I was dipping everything we had in that curry sauce. The Halibut was ok, a little over done and dry. It was also bland so you definitely need a lot of the curry to help. I wish they used a bowl for this instead of a dish because that will definitely allow the fish to be marinade in the curry more to absorb some flavor. It also helps with eating as it was hard to scoop up curry in a dish instead of a bowl. Parking can be challenging as it's small but shared among other businesses. Service was pretty good considering how busy it was. We always got our water filled. Food came out super fast as well. Overall, a nice place for dinner and I can see myself coming back. read more

I live in a fairly large city and have not been able to find an excellent Thai restaurant in my local area. Today I ended up in the city of Monroe. I would never guess that Monroe would have a great Thai Restaurant. Benjarong Thai Restaurant has fabulous food and service. They out ranked for delicious Red Curry. Affordable. I would have given them 5 stars but unfortunately their tables felt sticky. Pretty much due to the type of wood the tables are made of. We had dinner here after skiing. The restaurant was very busy and our group had to be split into two tables. We were fine with it. There were lots of choices on the menu. We were an adventurous group so we tried a few Benjarong specials, including their curry and their soup. We also ordered pad see eew for our table. The soup was disappointing. It was just broth with vermicelli noodles, veggies and fish balls. Very bland in my opinion. The curry flavor was good. And the pad see ew was a bit too sweet for my liking. One of the first things we did when moving to Monroe was scout out our future Thai restaurant and we have not been disappointed with our orders from Benjarong. We have only stopped in to pick up takeout but the inside of the restaurant is really beautiful with warm paint colors and tasteful decor. Both times we've arrived, our order has always been all packaged up and waiting for us. They are super friendly and very helpful when ordering. They even understand gluten allergies and I was thrilled to find out I can have the spring rolls which are fabulous. The husband usually orders the yellow curry with chicken and gorges himself on the crab delight I only wish I could have. I get the panang with shrimp and don't let a drop of the curry go to waste. One order always has enough for a couple meals and we are sure to fully enjoy our leftovers. We look forward to dining in some time in the near future so we can try more of the variety of the menu and enjoy the nice ambiance.
