We have been enjoying our favorite Thai delights since before the pandemic. It's always a treat to dine at Thai Poons. The food is amazing and the hospitality is incomparable. I recommend the shrimp appetizer, yellow curry, spicy rice and chow mein level 3 spicy for us but you choose your level. We had our first Thai beer and tea, nice with our dinner. Thank you . We will always come back. The place looks great after remodeling. $77 and we had leftover.

I've only ever gotten takeout from here so I can't comment on the in person service or inside the restaurant but the food is good! Large portions for average Bay Area prices. The curry delights have lots of delicious veggies, more than the average curry. Would recommend for takeout!

I went there Friday around 7:30, not that many people, food get delivered in 20 minutes. It's a pretty small and cozy place. I like the food a lot, definitely will go back.

I love this family run restaurant! The food tastes so authentic it reminds me of when I was in Thailand. The basil chicken is one of my favorites. It's been remodelled and has really clean lines and decor. You can choose 2 or 3 items for lunch with either white or brown rice. Then add one of the chili sauces to your liking!

I can't emphasize enough that this is one of my favorite Thai food spots in the Bay Area! Not only is the food SO delicious, the staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. I never had my Togo boxes so well packaged and ready so quick! My all time favorite is their Lunch combos. You have the option for two entrees or three entrees. For an extra dollar, I recommend the three entrees so you can try more food (every thing is 10/10 personally). It's similar to Panda Express where you ask them what you want and they put it on a plate for you. I think it's efficient and you can eat right away (great for work lunches and time crunches) My all time favorite dishes are the eggplant delight, the pad ped fried chicken, basil chicken, egg omelette, and the beef red curry! FYI if they ever run low on an item they make it fresh for you. Super hearty, comforting, and delicious. The chicken is well fried and seasoned to perfection. I can't stop raving about this place plus their new remodel is so cute!

Picked up dinner from Thai Spoon and was reminded why I love small, family-run Thai places -- warm smiles, super quick takeout, and food that tastes like someone actually cares. What we ordered: Spicy Fried Rice (Chicken, Hot): Bold, fragrant, great heat. Red Curry (Chicken, Medium): Creamy, cozy, classic comfort. Green Curry (Chicken, Medium): The standout -- bright, aromatic, and incredibly flavorful. Pad Thai (Chicken, Medium): Balanced, fresh, not overly sweet. Everything was delicious, but the Green Curry Chicken was next-level good -- the kind of dish you immediately want again the next day. Friendly service, generous portions, and consistently tasty food ( we went back again the same week). This place deserves way more love. Will definitely be back!

the portions are very generous. ordered the pad thai, pad kee mao, green curry, & red curry. food was ready for pick up as soon as I arrived and you can tell they are extremely well organized. they have a good buy one get one free deal through Uber eats ($20 for 2 dishes is a steal!). that said, the flavor of the food itself was ok and definitely different / not my favorite compared to many other Thai restaurants I've tried. the pad thai was decent, but I wouldn't recommend the flavor of the green curry. overall this place is definitely a good deal, but the flavor of the food might not entice me to return.

I'm so happy that they are finally open for dine in (They were remodeling their establishment). New interior but same great service and delicious food! THAI - So perfect and delicious PAD THAI - There are different protein options but we always choose prawns and there was a generous amount of prawns - The noodles are cooked to perfection, the perfect bounce and chew (not soggy and mushy like other restaurants) - The flavor is amazing, I usually get it spicy but opt out for non spicy because my daughter wanted to eat this dish too. Thai Spoons is her favorite restaurant for Pad Thai and that says a lot when she specifically asks to eat Pad Thai from Thai Spoons LOL - Peanuts are served on the side in a container CHICKEN LAAB SALAD - The amazing flavors that are incorporated into one dish is just so delicious and refreshing...the lemongrass, mint, scallions, lemon... etc. - We love ordering this and eating it as a side to our other dishes SPICY EGGPLANT (I forgot to take a picture) - I like to add Chicken to this dish - The egg plant and sauce all others with the other veggies is so flavorful. NOW FOR THE BIG STAR OF THIS REVIEW... I'm usually not a fan of mango sticky rice but it turns out, I've been trying out restaurants that didn't have GOOD Mango Sticky Rice. MANGO STICKY RICE - The mangoes that this restaurant always picks are ripped and sweet! Which a is a huge plus. Other restaurants will have mangoes that aren't ripped yet or are semi sour but NOT THAI SPOONS... they only serve carefully selected sweet mangoes. - The coconut cream sauce is delicious and not too sweet since the mangoes are sweet - The sticky rice is perfectly cooked! Soft and a nice chew - You better hurry and get your Mango Sticky Rice from here because some times they run out. Side note: I also love their Tom Kha soup and Green Curry but we did not order on this day. 5 Stars for both their customer service and delicious food!

Feeding my thai food craving here at Thai Spoons in Sunnyvale CA. This was Wendi and my favorite lunch spot when we were dating over 30 years ago. We used to eat here when they first open back in 1994. The food remains as delicious as I remember. Our favorite dish is their chicken pad ped, which is amazing and is very hard to find on the menu at other Thai restaurants. I know what your thinking, 'look, Jeff is posting pictures of food once again'. Well I believe to share all good things with others. The memories of this place along the food still makes my heart smile. So if you are ever in the area, come check it out!

My friends and I came here for dinner so we had everything family style, which was great because it kept the price low. For the most part, everything was decently good, and not amazingly spectacular, but there were items that stood out still. Some of my friends that lived in Sunnyvale were frequent visitors and mentioned how much they returned because they liked the food, and I could definitely see why. To me, the pad see ew and the red curry tasted very authentic and very similar to what I have had in other Thai restaurants across the country, which was a good thing and I definitely had nothing to complain. I thought the spicy fried rice was really good because it had a level of spice that provided flavor instead of overwhelmingly spicy and nothing else, if that makes sense. I also enjoyed the mango & sticky rice, but would love a bit more rice and coconut milk because there was a good amount of fresh mango. Otherwise, I don't have other comments because I don't know what else to say other than the fact that this is a very authentic small Thai restaurant and I think that by itself should be a good indicator that it's worth returning to.

Beef Pad See Ew - Wide Rice Noodle

Thai Spoons holds a special place in my heart, and despite the lack of air conditioning in the summer... I would recommend this Thai spot for sure! They have lunch specials and a good variety on their menu. Staff are kind here too! Pad See Ew is always my go-to dish and this place makes it really well! Not too oily and perfectly cooked noodles. We got this with beef and it was really tender (good portions too)! The Pad Ped Chicken is also a solid dish that I've only ever seen here. Deep fried boneless chicken stir fried in mild Thai spices. Very tasty and a guilty pleasure dish.

We got the Penang braised beef, pad see ew, pad ka pow, Thai hot pot, and mango sticky rice. The Penang braised beef is basically like the Penang curry - very rich, well spiced, and the beef is tender. My favorite dish here. Pad see ew is good but fairly standard - pricing is pretty high for a dish like this - $20+ for a noodle dish. The pad ka pow is good - something I normally wouldn't get, in favor of curry, but it was great for sharing and open up my horizons beyond my typical order. Thai hot pot for $35 was really disappointing - there is good amount of beef but they do not do a good job with the meat cuts and it is easy to overcook due to the constant fire inside cooking up the soup. Mango sticky rice is good - mangoes were sweet and fresh, but the rice was on the undercooked side. Service is good as water refills were present and they brought the dishes in a timely manner. Overall, decent Thai food, but coming from Seattle, this did not wow me the same way as my friends do who live around this area.

Could have been perfect, but the inside wasn't warm. Still ordering it again next time I go! The woman who was taking care of everyone seated (about six full tables) was kind and welcomed us to come back which I appreciated. The parking was a little tough even on a Wednesday at 1 PM. All in all, it was really enjoyable and I'll definitely be coming back with my buddies!

Though it was Saturday noon, we found free covered parking at Menlo Center Plaza off Santa Cruz Avenue. True to online postings, this restaurant had vibrant & faux flowery decor. I had the hot Japanese sencha while my wife got the Thai Iced tea served with a crushed iced ball on top. Roti Mataba, Crispy Egg Rolls, Farmhouse Wings and Crispy Calamari were our starters for this gang of eclectic diners. I shared with my wife the Panang Neua (braised beef in curry sauce) and Pad See You which came gorgeously plated with generous servings. We were able to sample the Crab Fried Rice and Tom Kha from our dinnermates. Ruk Na (love you) Platter was the underwhelming dessert combo of Thai Vacation, Sticky Rice (no mango), Chocolate Cake with fresh fruits and a macaron. To be described as IG worthy in the menu wasn't accurate IMO. It must've been an off-day in the kitchen when they were prepping this "leave the choice up to us" plate of sweets. Food was way flavorful than regular Thai restaurants we've been to. The common complaint is the very pricy food. The staff was nice though. They even acknowledged our request for photos. Even with the setbacks, this was a nice lunch with this group.
