My husband and I are new to the El Lago area, so we decided to give this place a try, and I am so glad we did!! They don't deliver so we had to use Grubhub but the food is absolutely amazing the chicken wings were nice and crunchy the pad Thai was amazing and the noodles in the pork lo mein were so good, My husband is a big dumpling fan and he devoured them they are absolutely delicious, everything has great flavor! Yay!!! They finally opened another Thai place in the Clear Lake area (actually, it took the place of Thai Lemon Grass...RIP TLG)! Just got a takeout for lunch. Mmm mmm...delish! (Still eating as I'm typing this, btw :) Ordered green curry chicken ($6.95), which also comes mixed with egg plant, green beans, and bamboo shoots. The lunch special comes with two mini egg rolls (stuffed with mushroom, cabbage, carrots, noodles), salad with peanut dressing, and soup (chicken broth with cabbage, carrot pieces, and green onions). I also ordered my fave drink, thai tea, of course ($2.75). Nice ambience & decor. The wait staff was friendly and two had come by to ask me if I wanted a water while I waited for my takeout. First Thai place I've tried in the area.... it was ok. Nothing spectacular, by any means but it'll do. I remember seeing this place when it was Thai Lemongrass and wondered if I should try it, but I did see the Yelp reviews so it wasn't a priority. Pad Kee Mao (my go-to Thai dish) was nicely spiced, the only odd part was that it wasn't in a brown sauce like it usually is. Tasted the same though so I'd probably order it again. I have been here a few times before so this review is based on all of my experiences here. First off, if you can get past the musty/fishy smell of the restaurant, the food can be good . ( I thought the smell was just a fluke at first because the building is relatively new, but it seems to be there every time.) A week ago I ordered two paciyu from this restraunt and they messed up one of my orders giving me two tofu paciyu instead of 1 chicken and one tofu. We found out when we got home and called them to see if they were going to do anything about the mistake they made. Sammy the lady I was on the phone with at the time said that we could receive one free paciyu for the mixup. I remember, I confirmed it with her and even wrote her name down on a piece of paper. But when we called yesterday to see if we could receive one order of free paciyu along with our order she suddenly changed her mind. She started yelling on the phone saying, "no! I swear to God I said tai tea!" When we asked why she changed her mind. She was very rude and made me feel like I was begging for free food. She is the one that offered free paciyu last week, but yesterday she was very defensive. They are the ones that made mistake, but sammy was yelling at me for something she promised. and In the past she would always make us feel uncomfortable when we ordered at the restraunt. To me its not fair that they ruined my paciyu order and want to give just one tai tea. I never want to come here again. I have been to this many times now and was wondering why I never wrote a review.Tiny little place. Service ok but food is great. My wife loves the Thai curries especially the yellow one. I love their fried rice, all of em especially original fried rice. You can ask for mild or spicy if you can take the heat. The original fried rice is good even without the extra heat. My friends love their thai style fried rice and pineapple one too. Ask for extra egg in them which makes them taste even better. I love their chicken puff pastry too. The chicken satay is ok and not as good as Thai Gourmet in Houston. Overall, good place with good food and worth the visit for their fried rice. Oh, this time our puff pastry was cold inside. First time I regret I didn't read the reviews before I try a restaurant. Food is okey, their angel wings is pretty good. Singapore noodles not spicy enough, but is okey for their price point. However, the service is extremely terrible. My server treat me like im just another transaction. I dine in for about 45 minute and my server only checked on me once and that's when she bring me my food. I have to get someone else to get my check. I'm originally from up north where we have many great asian cuisine food restaurants, and I find it difficult to find good places consistently. I've had take out and dined in several places around the Clear Lake area and this is by far the best place I have been to in the area. I've been craving Thai food in the longest and this has definitely satisfied that craving. I tried the lemongrass drink and it was refreshing and delicious. Appetizers were delicious too and it reminded me of crab ragoons. For my entree I ordered the drunken sauce with chicken and white rice with a spicy level of 1. I was really excitied to see the Thai Spice open on Bay Area but was pretty dissapointed with the food when we tried them the other night for dinner. To be fair, I am comparing to their Thai Fast Food location in Bellaire. The prices were about $2 more per dish and the serving sizes were smaller!! I would probably be okay with it the food was really delicious but nothing we ordered was out of this world. Most of the dishes we ordered were just okay; the Tom Yum Soup was a little too sour, the Pad Se Eaw was a little too salty and the Summer Palace was not very spicy. Overall, the place is nicely decorated and the staff was really friendly and attentive. I will probably go back if I am really craving Thai food and am too lazy to drive to southwest., at least next time I will know what to expect. read more

Where do I start? After months of trying to get my mom to come with me to try out this place for the first time, it was horrible. I was definitely not impressed. I don't normally go into a restaurant and start critiquing them, but this was bad. My mother, my 9 month old & me were the first ones there & we get sat in a booth that has been worn down. I don't get asked if I needed a high chair & ended up getting myself. It was the only one and felt like it was going to fall apart. My son then needed a diaper change so I headed to the bathroom. No changing table. (Plenty of room for one) Then the food came. The food was alright. My mom got the orange chicken & I got Teriyaki Chicken. (I know, not "Thai") But The Teriyaki Chicken was just grilled chicken with sauce drizzled over it. I could've made it at home. And the plate was small. Now another thing I'm disappointed about was that I looked online at their website. A location downtown has a Sushi menu & this one doesn't. I don't plan on going back. I stopped in at Thai Spice Kitchen for lunch, since it was between my hotel and work. The restaurant is neat and clean but plain. A few classy paintings of topless women adorn the wall. Don't let it scare you away though - you have to look for the nudity to find it. I guess I have a talent. Oh, right. The food- the pad thai merits four stars. My coworker got a basil dish (maybe pad kee mao?) and the aroma of fresh basil was great, although it seemed to put my pad thai in a headlock and choked it out. The service was great. I was a fan of the place before Thai Spice replaced them, those folks had really amazing Thai curry. I am a glutton for all things curry, whether it's Thai, Indian, Chinese, etc. I love curry and am very critical of all types. This place is above average in their curry. I usually go with Red Curry Chicken with extra spice, not enough for my nosehairs to light on fire but enough to enjoy the extra kick. I've had the Green and Yellow, similar in experience. They all taste great but don't expect to see too much chicken...I had maybe 4 pieces on my last visit and it was loaded with eggplant, delicious none the less but be warned. I went with a friend who was visiting the Houston area and we shared the Calamari appetizer. Definitely below ok...fish sauce was very bland...guess I like spicy stuff too much but the Calamari was so crunchy I forgot what I ordered until I finally broke through the encrusted surface and tasted a very strange Calamari. I might try those cheese things next time. If you like curry this place should definitely be given a chance...all other things Thai...might want to skip. read more

Went here for lunch over the weekend and I was really impressed with the food. Thai Spice is aptly named as spice is what you will get. Every dish at the table was seasoned spectacularly with just the right amount of kick you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. We started with the Tom Yum Goong soup, a hot broth of tomato, lemongrass, and garlic, with shrimp, mushrooms, and green onions. It was an excellent balance of sour and savory and was plenty for two people to share as a starter. This soup was my favorite part of the meal. For an entree, I had the yellow curry noodle with chicken. The curry was absolutely delicious with a coconut milk base and just a little heat. It's served in a bowl with chunks of carrots, potatoes, chicken, and rice noodles. The only thing I would do differently next time is get the curry with rice instead of noodles next time. I found the texture of the noodles to be a little unappetizing. If you enjoy a kick and well flavored Thai cuisine I'd definitely recommend trying this place out. read more
