I've eaten here plenty of times. The food is good and fresh. The ambience is very nice too and sometimes outshines the food. I've tried the fresh spring rolls (not fried) and wasn't disappointed. I've ordered the vermicelli tofu dish. The noodles were soft and cooked well. Tofu is crispy, but I would have liked for them to add seasonings to the tofu itself, but it was plain. I fixed it up with hoisin and chili sauce. I wish they had a substitute for the fish sauce since it isn't vegan. Service is always nice with big smiling faces. Very attentive staff too. Remton at first glance from the outside, it looks likes a typical hole-in-the wall Asian restaurant. However on the inside, Remton is quite classy. You can have a big party dine here. The staff are nice and the prices aren't bad. Remton has a vast menu of Asian cuisine and a full wine bar. There's a big screen that plays movies and a regular screen that only shows Bubble tea and Asian coffee drinks. Why? They don't serve those kinds of beverages here. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. It took almost an hour for our food to arrive, and they weren't even busy. One of the staff got my order wrong and they kept asking what it was. So annoying!!!! I didn't get my appetizer until AFTER my meal arrived. And it was packed in a to-go box! I'm not coming back anytime soon. Remton was beautifully decorated inside. Ready for the holidays! Service however felt VERY slow. Would not recommend going during a lunch break from work unless you order as takeout. The restaurant was only about 50% packed. Bun cha hanoi was lukewarm; took almost 30 minutes for it to come out. This dish usually comes out within 10-15 mins at most Vietnamese restaurants. Banh khot vung tau was one of their newer dishes; was just ok, didn't standout. I've had better bun cha hanoi and banh khot at other restaurants. 4 stars mainly for their new dish, banh beo chen. Now this was super delicious and came out in a timely manner. I believe this banh beo was made Quang Nam style. Fish sauce could be better. My husband and I just visited Remton for an early dinner. The place is beautifully decorated, and clean. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Their menu is very extensive, they offer Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese options. The service is quick. We started with some golden bao pork buns, beautifully plated, it's an explosion of flavors! Crispy bao bun, tender grilled pork with fresh lettuce and sweet pickled veggies, delicious! Then we had beef stuffed grape leaves, wow we were so impressed by the plating, flavors, and textures in this dish: fresh lettuce, chilled noodles, and grape leaves filled with savory beef, topped with sweet pickled carrot and crunchy peanuts, served with an amazing house sauce. Then we had the Banh Khot Vung Tau, again beautiful plating; they serve you crispy lettuce that you use as a wrapping for your mini shrimp cakes, you add the pickled veggies, fresh aromatics, and dip it in sweet fish sauce, amazing, so fresh and tasty! Brought my mom here for a mother and son lunch date. We've heard about this place around Clear Lake for a while but finally got around to trying it since we usually just drive to Bellaire Blvd for quality Vietnamese food! We were promptly seated in a booth and given menus. The interior is absolutely beautiful, some of the nicest I've seen for a Vietnamese restaurant. They went all out for Christmas, with some cute Instagram-able spots throughout the restaurant. The bar area also looks very nice. We ordered the Street Food Rice Cake (banh bot chien) and Vietnamese Mini Pancakes (banh khot) the rice cakes were so good. I grew up eating these as an appetizer at all the Vietnamese restaurants, and the one here was giant in size and the rice cakes themselves were super crispy, with a good balance of scrambled eggs. The mini pancakes were also very crispy with a nice-sized shrimp atop each one. For entrees, we ordered the Bun Cha Ha Noi and Grilled Pork Vermicelli bowl. This was the largest bowl of Bun Cha Ha Noi I have ever seen. It came out in a soup bowl with the meat slices and patties soaking in a bath of fish sauce. It was delicious and beautifully presented. The vermicelli bowl was also good. For the most part, comparable to other places' but the grilled pork on this one had a nice smoky flavor to it, which deserves extra points. Service was super friendly. Our server spoke to us in Vietnamese and gave us great recommendations. The owner also came by to check on us multiple times and made good conversation with us, telling us about the history of starting the restaurant and some of their other specialties, giving us recommendations for next time! It was almost like our own personal Yelp Elite Event! Pricing is a little on the high side for Vietnamese food, with dishes ranging $15-$19 on average. While this is expensive for Vietnamese food, this is an excellent option for the Clear Lake area where there is much less competition for Viet food. And without having to drive to Bellaire! The portions were also huge; we clearly ordered way too much for 2 of us, but that gave us plenty of leftovers for the next couple days. This was a very solid option for Vietnamese food and we'll definitely be back for more family lunches and dinners! Glad there is a good local option within the 'burbs. Normally when I eat bun Bo hue my nose is runny bc it's so spicy and so good. But this bun Bo hue that they serve here is a mix between bun Bo hue and bun rieu. Not spicy. Seems to me like they added the sate/ chili oil in the soup. There was no depth of flavor in this soup. Their version also has boiled cabbage, bean spout, basil and lime added into the soup. Very different from the others. Which is thinly shaved cabbage raw or even another green curly shaved vegetable like morning glory. Like I said the flavor was not there for me. The soup was hot and the noodles were good. But the broth was not hitting the spot for me yall. Service- when I asked which soup was good, the waitress told me she cannot say lol which is weird. One of the beautiful things about Houston Restaurant Weeks is that it exposes you to restaurants you're unfamiliar with. Remton is an example of just that. We stopped by this Vietnamese restaurant on a Tuesday evening for dinner. Located in Webster in a shopping center, parking won't be an issue. After being seated at a booth, I looked over the menu and sae a bunch of bubble tea options. Always a plus! From there, I started with the grilled pork baos, followed by the mango shrimp, and finally the short ribs on fire. Ambiance is part of the name of the game at Remton. It's a nice-looking restaurant and the presentation of the food is elevated compared to most restaurants. The appetizer came with two baos served on a black plate. The meat was flavorful and the sauce was delicious. A great start to the meal. The mango shrimp looked like a work of art. The shrimp were situated in a circle with salad and mango underneath it and some mango sauce across the plate. In a first, there were some mango popping boba on the plate. A little too sweet but I appreciated the creativity. The short ribs on fire, if the name doesn't give it away, is served on a sizzling platter and the ribs are set on wire. The meat was flavorful, similar to ghabli you'd find at a Korean restaurant, and it's served with white rice. Not a huge portion but the rice was plentiful. Service was pleasant. Like most Vietnamese restaurants the menu can be overwhelming with all the options and choices. That shouldn't stop you from exploring the different items there are to eat. I like the addition of dim sum being an option on their menu. What is even better is that there is a picture of each dim sum option they have. Its nice being able to see what you are planning to eat before hand. There are a decent amount of pictures for the other parts of the menu also. The food itself was delicious and tasty EXCEPT the fried tofu which had no flavor whatsoever. They could have seasoned it or something but who knows. The food always came out fresh in the sense it was warmed up so it had to have been cook to order. The waitress was really nice and accommodating. We asked for a few accommodations such as sauce on the side or kids cup water. She was always attentive to us. Remton is beautifully decorated with a vibrant springtime vibe. I can tell a lot of hard work and planning went into the design. The tables, chairs and booths all look very new. The bar looks amazing and is well stocked. Remton gives off a high end aura. The restaurant is so clean and spacious. Next, the service was incredible and matched the high end energy of the restaurant. When I walked in, the manager approached me and offered seating. I asked him a few questions and soon we were discussing various Vietnamese dishes and cuisine. He was very polite and knowledgeable, showing me around the restaurant a bit and recommending some dishes. I was thoroughly impressed with his professionalism and hospitality, as well as his passion for customer service. I was not super hungry, so I ordered smaller dishes to try a variety. First I ordered the Bánh Bột Chiên (Vietnamese Fried Rice Flower Cake). Wow!!! This bánh bột chiên was extraordinary! As I was eating it, the owner Tracy stopped by the table and I let her know that this was a fantastic version of this dish. The rice cake/ egg mixture topped with stir fried radish, pickled carrot, green onion and cilantro was so good. The sweet and sour soy sauce took it to another level! I'll go ahead and say it now. This is the best bánh bột chiên I've had in the Houston area, including Bellaire. This is a recipe straight from southern Vietnam. Compliments to the chef! I will be back for this alone. The crispy tofu was delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was hot and covered in the tasty peanut sauce it was a great dish. The Spicy Pork Wontons tasted great! The Custard Buns were delicious. The custard filling was so creamy and not too sweet. The Pinky Promise and House Sangria from the bar were just right and very refreshing. I also ordered a Matcha Espresso Latte drink to go and it was very good with a strong matcha flavor to go along with the espresso. The menu here is vast and incorporates global flavors and cuisines along with authentic Vietnamese recipes. The owner/chef must be well travelled and knowledgeable about various cuisines to have a menu this large and with such high quality. While my server was extremely kind to us I thought the service was very slow. We arrived at Remton around noon time & it wasn't busy. The place is in the middle of remodeling but it still looks nice considering it's not done yet. I took my bf here for his birthday & we were hoping to have had a better experience unfortunately it was just above fair and not decent/good. We started off with drinks. I ordered their Thai tea & he got the taro milk tea. My Thai tea didn't taste bad but they forgot to add sugar in it so it tasted like milk & tea. His taro tea was good. Usually I'm always iffy about getting taro because it's usually powdered but this one didn't have a chalky aftertaste so that's good. Next, we ordered the shrimp spring rolls. Honestly I thought it was textbook. The peanut sauce was thick & made just right. For the main course my bf order their pho with eye round steak, lean brisket & meatball & I order the beef stew with egg noodles. The broth for the pho was okay, definitely didn't pack a punch. The meat(s) was tendered which saved this dish. My order was incorrect because I wanted egg noodles versus rice noodles, the server apologized and fixed it right away. My grandma use to make this when I was a kid so it brings back good memories. Definitely not how grandma would have made it but I thought the broth was pretty solid. It was rich & had good umami flavor. The beef was tendered as well. The noodles could have be more firmer. For dessert I ordered their Mango panna cotta. It was very good, it was creamy & not overly sweet. I'm definitely ordering it next time. At the end I asked for a to go bowl. While pouring my soup into the bowl, I found something that didn't look like it's suppose to be in the soup. Honestly I thought it looked like chipped wood or something. I gave it a taste & it was not edible. I showed it to the staff & he informed me that it was a portion of a cinnamon stick. Which is fine but I don't want that in my soup. No worries I didn't lower the score because of that, it was going to be a 3 anyways. Overall the food didn't exceed my expectations but it was not bad either. Like I said in the beginning my server was nice but service could be a lot faster considering it was slow. I can see different customers getting annoyed because they waited forever for their food. Both pick up and dining in was dealing with the slow service. To top it off my drink was made very fast but it was just sitting at the drink station for 10 minutes before it was delivered to me. Forgot to take pictures . First time here. Houston food week menu was awesome. Hubby had fried dumplings, pho and crème Brulé Hubby said the Pho was probably one of the best he had in a long time. Broth was wonderful with a hint of smokiness. Meat was thinly sliced I had the bao bun, shaking beef and crème brûlée. It was all wonderful. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Servers were friendly.
