Usually when I want an expertly crafted cocktail, I have to drive into Houston. That is until I tried Rosewater. Met a couple of friends out here for a random weekday happy hour outing. I live in Pearland so it's just a hop, skip and jump over to Clear Lake. This whole area has some hidden gems when it comes to cocktail bars and Rosewater is one of them. It is located just a short drive from 45 in a little shopping strip. Parking can be tight during peak times. I was a little confused walking up because it looked like there were two bars in one. I guess one was the original side and then they expanded. We sat on the right side which was small with bar seating and a few tables off to the side. It looked like the other side was slightly larger. They also have a good sized patio that would be ideal for larger parties. Customer service was great. So I started off with something off the happy hour menu. I went with my tried and true House Old Fashioned. They did it just right. If a place can't execute that, I'm out! I went a little lighter on my next drink. I went with a Rum Swizzle. It's a basic drink but tasty and refreshing. When happy hour ended, I wanted to see how good their Clarified Milk Punch was. Anytime I see it on a menu I got to have it. Just the complexity of it alone is amazing. It drinks so smooth and it just a very delicious drink. They did it really well here. If hunger strikes, they have a pretty decent food menu which I still haven't partook in. Overall, if I am in need of a nice cocktail and just want to catch some back roads to my destination, Rosewater will be the spot. I will most definitely be back! read more

I don't make it out to the southeast side often usually just for work or family stuff. After a last-minute reunion, someone suggested this spot, and it ended up being a great call. Cool atmosphere, music at a perfect level easy to talk without yelling. The crowd leaned more mature, which was a nice change. Drinks were well done thoughtful mixology without the usual overhype. I stopped by on a Saturday evening and there was a 45-minute wait for a table. While they do have a nice patio, it was freezing so not a lot of people wanted to be out in the wild despite the heaters. We made things work. What initially stood out to me about Rosewater was the creativity of the cocktails. You'll see unique combinations and liquors you've never heard of. I tried four cocktails and they all were delicious. Including one that had mead which isn't something you see every day. While they do have food, I didn't have any so I can't comment on that. Service was friendly. If you're looking for some quality cocktails in the burbs, definitely check out Rosewater. read more

If you want quality drinks, don't walk, run to Rosewater! It's a small intimate place with indoor and outdoor covered seating. There's Even fans for those super hot, humid Texas days. The staff have great customer service and provide great recommendations. There is usually a drink of the day and the happy hour menu has a great selection to choose from. The Lions Tail and African Flower are two of my favorite drinks here. The chicken sandwich was really good but unfortunately the fries were a little over cooked. My friend comes here often and this is my second time visiting. Love how they decorated for Halloween and even incorporated Día de los Muertos also known as day of the dead. Rosewater continues to be amazing! The expansion maintains the same intimate atmosphere. The place was packed on Friday at 5 PM. Their new food menu is amazing. We shared the large cauliflower appetizer. It was fresh and delicious. The happy hour menu offers several cocktails for $8. Any of the servers can place drink or food orders for you so just flag one down if you haven't seen your server in a bit. You'll never regret an evening an evening at Rosewater. This cocktail bar has such a chill vibe. My husband and I usually come to this bar if we just want to hang out and chill with our family or friends in this area. This bar is located inside a plaza and they have a patio that servers just come and take your order once you choose your seat. You can also hang out inside their bar and just order drinks from the bartender if you'd like. The drinks are good and affordable. The cocktail drinks are around $11-$14 which is not bad. They also have a happy hour menu and I love how they close late. I also love how they serve food and we were able to order food at 10pm when we arrived so their kitchen is open late also. It may not be an extensive food menu but it's good snacks to have while having drinks. Overall, I recommend this bar if you are in this area. read more

A group of us yelpers came here after having dinner close by. I was so excited to try this place, based on such high recommendation of reviews and other yelpers. I am trying to venture out more, with different kinds of spirits, and this is just the place to do it. The place was busy on a Friday night, duh expected. We were seated outside in the mid size patio area. They have a large menu of classics and specialty cocktails. Drinks -I had the Blazing Star, I believe, which was good. It was my kind of tart but just sweet enough, like a mezcal hibiscus margarita. And then I asked my server for a recommendation since I wanted something gin based and she made me cucumber gimlet, which I loved. Overall, it was fantastic experience. It's low key enough to be a neighborhood bar, but the drinks are elevated, well balanced, creative and fun. Bartenders have enough knowlege to create things off menu or with your fav spirit in mind, which is the secret sauce of keeping customers happy. Drinks here are surprisingly amazing for a random shopping strip deep in suburban depths of Clear Lake. To be honest, I was really blown away. They make the classics well, and at the same time have their own riffs and personal cocktails. Last time I was here they made me an American Trilogy, which brought me back to being in NYC at Little Branch or Dutch Kills. They have a limited food menu to satisfy your munchies, but the drinks are really where it's at, and why you should come here. If I lived in a surrounding neighborhood it'd be fun to walk here and chill. If you're visiting from away, I'd make sure you have a DD or just take an Uber/Lyft because you're not going want to have more than one drink! read more

I tried out Rosewater for the first time Friday night and what a delight! I stuck to the feature mocktail, Paramore and had two of them. They were a good balance of tart and sweet. My friends' alcoholic beverages looked great as well and no one had any complaints. The patio is nice. They even have swing seats. Service is great and it didn't take long for my pals and I to get a table. The crowd was a little boring but about what I'd expect for a suburban spot. Five years later and I finally came back to Rosewater. So much for "I see more happy hours in the near future." It's definitely been a minute since I last visited Rosewater, but it's just as cool as I remembered it being. Observations: -They've added booths inside and they just renovated their patio out front last month. It's really spacious and nice. -They have servers now which I don't recall them having last time I visited. -Happy Hour is from 4-6 pm -They don't allow outside food anymore, but they do have a small menu to order from. In the menu, it does state that they are expanding their kitchen so the menu will have more items at some point. -They stop serving food an hour before they close. Food: Black Bean Quesadilla - not on the menu. Our server Madison suggested it. She said they also have a black bean hummus. I was pretty hungry so I opted for the quesadilla. It tasted more like a taco, but it was really good! They gave a generous serving of beans. I had enough to dip my chips in it (which is good because they didn't provide any salsa or queso). The beans were a tad salty, but very flavorful. Drinks: -Daily Frozie: Madison explained that it was cinnamon tea infused gin with strawberry, pineapple, lemon, and curacao. There were lots of flavors going on in the drink. The cinnamon was subtle and the drink was pretty sweet, but also refreshing. -Give Peas a Chance (seasonal): I didn't even see this on the menu, but when Madison described it, I was intrigued (Gin Mare, snap peas, Bols Genever, lemon, olive oil). I actually like snap peas so I figured I would give it a try. My first drink (the Frozie) was pretty sweet, so I was wanting something that was less sweet to counter it. The olive oil gave the drink an interesting smooth consistency and the snap pea flavor wasn't over powering. I don't even know how to describe the flavors, but it worked. If you want to try something different, then Give Peas a Chance (sorry, I couldn't resist lol)! -Bichi "Martini": This drink has beets in it (as well as French gin, lychee liqueur, lemon, bitters). My best friend ordered this drink and she's not a huge fan of beets, but she really enjoyed it because of the lychee. I had a small sip and it wasn't bad, but it was heavy on the beets (which I don't like); If you don't like beets, you may want to choose a different drink. Our server Madison was awesome! She was so nice and made awesome recommendations on food and drinks to try. There's so many options and they are constantly changing their menu so it's a great place to try some interesting and unique cocktails. What a gidden gem located in Clear Lake. If you like SpeakEasys, this place that kind of vibe. The craftsmanship of all of their beverages are fantastic. The bartenders are great and willing to craft any drink on the menu. I have so many favorites their, it is hard for me to recommend just one. I had been told about this establishment quite some time ago, had time on my hands and was looking for something to eat and drink and stopped in quite casually on a Sunday evening which is not quite the apex of dining experience but I suspect was an serendipitous opportunity for me to find a bar stool and some immediate attention for what was a perfectly wonderful experience. Let me start by referring to the picture of a perfectly prepared cocktail from yesteryear (which is where I am from) and if representative of all cocktails is reason not to miss this experience. As well I partook of a spicy Hummus appetizer which was very enjoyable, tasty and served with Pita, fresh carrots and cucumber which in my opinion having been raised on Mediterranean dishes, is something that someone either considering or familiar with such faire, should not miss. The ambiance is quite lovely and on this particular evening included some 1960's, plenty of 1970's and 1980's music which was a perfect pairing to both the service, drinks and food.
