I discovered this place on a whim. You'll miss it if you're not looking for it and maybe even then! It's a tiny place tucked into the strip of a gas station but it makes up for it's size with BIG flavors! I got a 12oz strawberry daiquiri with lemonade syrup and lucky for me, it was Free Shot Friday, so I got an extra shot of rum in my cup. Let me tell you, that young man was very generous and I'm not mad about it at all. That drink was so good that I finished it before I thought to take a picture of it and got a brain freeze for my troubles. It was STRONG! I felt that extra shot, alright! The great thing about Hurricane Hut, and why I'll be returning very soon, is that they obviously use quality liquor and actually care about the flavor of the drinks they serve. Even though the drink was strong and I consumed it at 8pm, I didn't have a headache when I got up at 3am to go to work. And since I forgot to take a picture, I guess I have to go back soon. The things we do for Yelp lol. Thankfully this isn't even close to a hardship.

I Love this place! Finally a legit daiquiri spot close to home. Something that stands out to me about this place is that it's a local business NOT A CHAIN! Come in and get treated like family. Kick back and have a daiquiri, a jello shot and shoot the breeze. A must try no doubt. #supportlocalbusiness

They don't go by their schedule and the place looks runs down for it to be in a prime area.

I had a little trouble finding it, but that was fine because my daiquiri made up for it.

You would think all the great cocktail bars would be in the heart of the city, but the Clear Lake…read morearea has some major contenders. Getting to this area from Pearland is much easier than heading into Houston so I was more than happy to come here. I've been here a couple of times and the most recent visit brought me and a party bus full of friends here on a Saturday night. The place gets busy but parking hasn't been an issue on any of my visits. It's a narrow bar that may seem tight, but it keeps going towards the back with more seating as well as a spacious patio. Customer service is always great and the bartenders know their stuff here. They have a pretty extensive drink menu here and there is something for everyone's preferences. They have a long list of cocktails and they can make you anything you want as well. The staff are experts here. They also have an impressive bourbon collections with about 200 kinds to choose from. Along with their cocktails, they have a long list of martinis. I love a good martini and here they have so many options. You can't go wrong with my favorite espresso martini, but the one that wowed me here was the Cucumber Patch. Cucumber flavor profile is not typically something I seek out, but I was in the mood for something refreshing and this was suggested to me. Get it and thank me later. As far as food goes, they have a separate BBQ business on site that sells some food. Don't sleep on the Bay Area if you are looking for a nice cocktail. This place will quickly be one of your favorites. I will surely be back.

The Davenport Lounge Clear Lake has probably been there for years, and I somehow just now decided…read moreto check it out. I've driven by a countless number of times, and you'd never really know it's there. But walking in, you immediately get that local dive bar kinda vibe in the best way possible. I met up with some friends here for a chill drink after work, and to our surprise it was karaoke night! I have to applaud the regulars here because they can really SING! But don't be shy if you can't, they were welcome to everyone going up for a song. As far as drinks go, I had the Alimony. I was sold on it because it's gin, guava juice and elderflower liquor. Balanced, not too sweet, and had a little bit of sparkling effervescence. Pair that with a shot or a beer, and we were having a great time catching up with old friends. I don't remember our bartender's name, but she gave us great service. Overall 10/10 recommend the Davenport Lounge Clear Lake if you're looking for where the locals go, trust me they know best.

Intro: After checking out two bars in Clear Lake, we were looking to complete the trifecta. A quick…read moreYelp search revealed that there was a tiki bar 10 minutes away. I'm all about tropical vibes so we made our way over for a nightcap. Located in a shopping center, parking won't be a problem. We were there pretty late on a Thursday night. Ambiance (4/5): Tiki bars are all about ambiance. Hawaii vibes. What's cool about The Great Kanakas Atomic Tiki Bar, outside of their excellent name, is that they're indoors but the bar makes you feel like you're actually outside. I liked the concept. Relaxed with the vibes you would expect at a tiki bar. Service (4.5/5): We sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive and friendly. She even recommended an off-the-menu drink that other folks like which was a nice touch. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet so I'm not even sure if they have food. Drinks (4/5): When you're at a tiki bar, you're looking for a creative mix of flavors with a nice presentation. I went with a cocktail with such a cool name that I couldn't say no. You'll know it when you see the menu. It's a long name, sounds very Hawaiian, and you'll have difficulty pronouncing it. You'll get a kick out of it. While the drink were solid, I've seen more elaborate tiki drinks elsewhere. I'm talking the type where fire is evolved or fancy garnishes. Overall: Clear Lake surprisingly has quite a few cool bars. This is one of them.

We popped in briefly early on a Saturday evening, and were unimpressed. There was very little…read more"tiki" about the place other than the drink menu and the "hut" over the bar -- certainly not the music, which was pretty typical modern, and overall I just had the impression of a dingy bar. We tried a couple of drinks, and they were fine, and the bartender was patient and helpful. Perhaps it gets more interesting when it gets busier later at night, and sitting on the patio might be nice when the weather is cooler. This is just not what we're looking for in a cocktail bar, but YMMV..
