Just picked up my order and when I got home and opened it I saw that they gave me tofu instead of chicken, yuck. And the pad Thai was so insanely hot I couldn't eat any of it. I've eaten here twice and both times I had the "meh" feeling. There food is just okay. There service is fast and the waitstaff always seem to be friendly. Recently I came here for lunch. Ordered a lunch L6 Summer Palace. This came with a soup and salad upfront. The salad had a peanut sauce that was a tad spicy. Very good. The soup was really tasty too! I had the L6 with chicken. It also had fresh basil, green onion, and white onion in a garlic sauce. The flavor was okay and the chicken was good. Overkill with the onions and basil. The basil was just so potent! Had to put it to the side. If I could have scooped all the green onions into a cup, I'm sure there was probably 1 whole measuring cup of green onions. It was just too much. I spent a lot of time just removing the onions to the side. My husband ordered the lunch Yellow Curry. I'm a big Thai Cottage fan and love their yellow curry. Thai Spice had a very similar taste however, the broth was not as creamy. More watered down. Not as coco-nutty. Not excited about giving this place another try. I will go back if my husband wants it. Not sure if the brand has changed or just this particular location, but I'm not digging the food from the kitchen of Thai Spice. Parking and finding the building is easy enough (don't fight for parking up front, just go to the back, plenty of space there!), and the interior is very bright, open, and clean. One particular server was on the grumpy side, but the other two were alright. The menu is confusing to me, as the restaurant name implies Thai food, but they also serve Japanese cuisine (sushi, ramen, and udon). We went for the lunch specials, which includes soup, salad, small appetizer, entree, and sometimes rice (no rice if you ordered a noodle dish). The soup (I think tom yum with chicken) was too sour and contains coins of lemongrass (lemongrass chunks are not palatable in my opinion). Salad dressing that came on the salad was too peanut-y for me. Appetizer for that day was spring rolls but they ran out so gave us dumplings instead; these I think was just ok. Pad thai with tofu, I felt was very one-note, which can make for a boring experience after three bites. Red curry with chicken saved our meal, as I can always rely on Thai Spice for their yummy curries. This was my first time coming to this location, as I used to go to the Rice Village location during their lunch buffet, but it might also be my last visit. read more

To give a 5-star rating is saying something considering the local competition in the Clear Lake area. I'm a white boy relatively new to Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine in general, but I've started to measure such establishments by the quality of their red curry. I love spicy food, and I have to say the only red curry I've had better than this place is at Thai stellar a few blocks away. However, it gets the 5 stars for the ingenuity and contemporary nature of the decor, and the amazing variety offered up on the menu (my wife loves sushi). Highly recommend this place over the nearby Thai cottage: better service, food comes out faster, and recently remodeled with new management. Keep up the great work Spice! read more

The menu was confusing at first but we were able to figure out where Thai dishes were after a couple of minutes. We had the summer rolls, Tom yum soup and yellow curry chicken. After landing in Houston and heading back home to Galveston, it suddenly hit us that we were starving and we both wanted Thai food. Since Webster is far enough out of the city itself and close to enough to home, I pulled up this little gem. We stopped in about an hour and a half before closing and the place was practically empty. We each ordered one of our own while we looked over the menu. They have a lot of options, but I am partial to curry. I ordered the green curry with chicken. It did not disappoint. My boyfriend ordered the Drunken Noodles and they were delicious as well. The service was a little awkward. We had three different people taking care of us. One took our order, the other brought us our drinks, and another brought out the food and the tab. They were all nice and efficient though. We love Thai food. We are a military family and when we move to a new place we start looking for our new favorite Thai place. I can tell you, don't waist your time or money on this place. The food was less than ok and the bill for two adults and two children was $75.00 plus tip. The specifics - Menus were dirty and worn out...the worn parts of the menu had food particles stuck to them. I had to send dishes back because the were dirty too. The meat (mystery meat) in the dumplings had the consistence of over cooked meat loaf. I crunched down on something hard twice and finally gave up. Maybe it was cartilage?? The Chicken satay was chewy. I felt like it might have been cooked from frozen. The coconut soap was good. The Pad Thai that my husband ALWAYS finishes was half eaten and left behind. He asked for it to be spicy, but it was so bland he tried to give it to our 7 year old to finish. Trust me ... Skip this place!! read more
